(AIR-oh-nah-ticks) the science of flying airplanes and spaceships

(AM-pew-tate) removing a someone's body part, like an arm or a leg

(kal-kyu-LA-shuns) doing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, or a mix of all, to get an answer

cease and desist
(seese and de-SIST) a command that means to stop doing something immediately and not to do it again

clandestine
(clan-DEHSS-tin) secret in a rather sneaky way

degradation
(de-gre-DAY-shun) doing really nasty things that make someone feel bad about who they are

duress
(der-RESS) pressure you feel to do something you don't want to do

endure
(in-DUR) to get through and accept something that is happening

heinous
(HAY-nuhss) shockingly mean, beyond rude, or really nasty

imbeciles
(IM-buh-sulls) complete and total idiots

imperious
(im-Pir-E-us) acting all snotty and stuck-up, like a spoiled empress

intergalactic
(in-ter-ga-LAC-tick) a place in space that is somewhere between earth and really, really outer space

microgravity
(my-crow-GRAV-i-tEE) when gravity becomes really weak and everything just floats around

moderator
(mod-er-A-ter) someone who acts as a go-between when people are in huge fights; they keep things calm

nanosecond
(NAH-no-sec-und) one-billionth of a second, or the time it takes for everything to go wrong

ozone
(O-zone) the hazy layer around the earth that keeps us from frying up and getting really sunburned

pact
(packt) a promise to do something, no matter what

sabotage
(sa-bo-tahge) to cheat by purposely wrecking something someone else did so you can win

scathingly
(sKAY-thing-lee) used negatively, it means really harsh and nasty; it can also mean
incredibly
when used positively, like “a scathingly great plan.”

scintillating
(Sin-till-ATE-ing) something that is so fun, interesting, and exciting that you just
have
to be a part of it

stratosphere
(Stra-tuh-sfear) the highest point of the earth's atmosphere, or the last level of air on earth
