His moans of absolute, perfect delight caused multiple, rolling sensations to cascade forward in strong bursts. His hips circled and then thrust hard as testament to his completion.

Never in her life had she experienced multiple orgasms. And these were of such intensity that her body shook with sweet convulsions. Even her hands shook to the point that he gripped them in his, to steady her and move her into the next wave. Even as she thought she could endure no more and a new wave pulsed forward, he held her as if she was the most precious thing in his world.

Sheets of perspiration poured from their bodies. As she lay there panting, he kissed his way down her throat, between her breasts, and then let his lips hover over her left nipple.

When he lowered his head and suckled deeply, a heavenly, unreal sensation filled her entire body. She pressed his head into her chest to continue the lovemaking. Eventually, he switched sides and moisture pooled between her thighs again.

He kissed his way down her body, exceedingly slowly. She spread her thighs as his tongue tempted the soft flesh between them. One more orgasm tore from her body and her entire back arched off the bed. He moved over her, wrapped his hands around her body, and kissed her as she gasped. This was what it was like to be filled by a man from the stars—
her spaceman
.

Sometime early the next morning, wonderful weariness crept over them both. He fell asleep in her arms. She held him and closed her eyes as the first rays of a large sun crept in through crystalline windows. A soft breeze filtered through one of the windows that'd been left open, and it traveled softly over their bodies.

Then, in that stillness, he whispered her name in his sleep. She pushed back long, long strands of his midnight black hair, and caressed his back and shoulders as tears filled her eyes. They fell down the sides of her face and onto a very large pillow that was clad in some kind of soothing silk-like fabric.

In this new place, she could be anyone she wanted. She could reinvent herself and make up for mistakes she'd made on Earth.

He'd driven fear away. In its place was acceptance. The thrill of new chances took over.

She finally closed her eyes and felt peace in his arms. She was finally at home, with a mountainous man from the stars. And in this new life, all things were possible.

Chapter 15

Five months after Goll's execution

Darius stood on the balcony of his estate and looked out onto the lush gardens. He glanced at his wrist communicator and sighed in frustration. She was late from duty
again.

His mother's promise had been kept. Once Laurel wed him—in a ceremony that was sure to go down as one of the most extravagant ever to grace a royal household—Maelle had sponsored Laurel's entrance into enforcer academy.

For months his lovely once-Earther bride had studied, worked physically harder than he was sure she'd ever done in her life, and, in all mental ways, pushed herself until she'd finally graduated. She hadn't been at the top of her class but, in a turn of tradition, she'd been voted as its captain. Such was her popularity among her classmates.

That left him in somewhat of a quandary.

Because Laurel had been assigned ground patrol within Luster's capitol city of Crystol, he'd been hard-pressed to explain
his
position as the New Chief of Enforcers of that same city. It put Laurel in the rather awkward position of being employed as one of his subordinates. Rules formerly disallowed such nepotistic relationships, but
some
unknown soul had made it their personal goal to have the rule changed. As it now stood, his wife could work as an enforcer, but she would not answer for her actions to anyone but her precinct commanding officer. And
that
man made every excuse imaginable to keep his lovely, newest academy graduate after hours, for one special assignment or another.

Laurel loved her work. Moreover, she was good at it. She made no excuses for having a lot to learn, but her instincts were impeccable. She was already making arrests.

Two months ago, a smuggling ring selling everything from stolen artwork to dangerous, illicit drugs, had been broken, and with her in the middle of the entire operation. She and her coworkers were now after a particularly insidious ring of criminals. The vermin were actually kidnapping children from outlying colonies to use as slave labor in fuel mines. The mines were located somewhere in the Beta 1254 sector of space, but the leaders of the setup were located on Luster. He knew the specifics of the operation, not the actual duties of his wife in locating the criminals responsible.

He feared for her safety. But this was her life; it was what she wanted. And after work each day, she came home, held him in the night, and chased away any vestige of pain or loneliness. He'd learned to get on with life, and to remember what he'd lost with love and patience.

Such was a very nearly perfect life together. It was marred only by her absence.

His thoughts had circled back to the one thing bothering him at the moment. She was late
again
. Mother and Father had made a family gathering of an important evening. They were to all meet with ambassadors of Gerent and Pabrara—two outlying colonies with which Luster hoped to develop agricultural trade.

In the room behind him, a maid was humming happily as she laid out Laurel's latest gown, a midnight blue confection that sparkled in the sunlight. The gauzy fabric was cut low enough to make his mouth water. The fabric, he was told, had been a gift from Gemma. His former med-tech—who was now expecting her first child with Barst—had purchased it for Laurel, in some marketplace or other while on their way back to Luster from Earth. He hadn't paid a lot of attention back then to his crew's relationship with the woman who was to become his life mate. He wished he had.

Back then, he'd existed in utter turmoil. He hadn't wanted to admit he was so desperately in love with an Earth woman. Now, he couldn't imagine life without her. And soon, as she promised, they'd work on that baby his parents were so eager to announce.

But before any of that could happen, she had to get home. The hour was growing later. And every time this happened, fear for her safety almost froze him. Of course, someone would notify him if she was injured. But the angst in even considering such a missive was terrible.

He suddenly vowed to get her pregnant so she could take leave. Then
he
could take leave, and they'd have more time together. At last.

“Sorry I'm late, baby. We got caught up in a meeting,” she called as she breezed into the room, removing her tunic as the maid smiled, nodded, and left them alone.

He walked back in through the open patio door, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her hard. “Can't you contact me when that happens? You're going to drive me crazy, Laurel. You won't let me call you, so I have to sit and wait … ”

She stopped undressing and stood there in a tight, sleeveless compression shirt, tighter black uniform leggings, and tall boots. She unpinned her long hair from its neat bun and shook it loose. “I promise. I won't do it again, Darius. I'm sorry.”

“That's what you said the last time,” he murmured as he nuzzled her neck.

“I didn't know about this meeting. Commander Kkurian asked me to stay … ”

“He and I are going to have a serious talk about when and how he breaks rules. He has no grounds for keeping enforcers after hours. Not when it doesn't have to do with duty. Meetings don't apply. Especially when they only involve
you
.”

She slowly smiled up at him. “Don't be jealous. I don't care about him other than as a co-worker.”

“I know that. It's
him
I'm worried about.”

She looped her arms around his neck. “The problem's been solved. He's been put on space duty. Deep sector, area 43MK. Commander Letor is taking his place. Kkurian just kept us
all
late … the entire shift … to thank us for our service. It was a sort of cake and coffee send-off. At least what passes for cake and coffee on this world.” She shrugged happily. “Okay?”

His mood brightened considerably. “Commander Letor is a very good supervisor. You'll enjoy working with
her
.”

“You know what?”

“What?” he asked as his body responded to her sudden closeness.

“Since you haven't changed into your dress uniform yet … and since I'm home now … we've got just enough time to take a warm shower together.” She ran one index finger down the center of his chest and began to unfasten his uniform tunic.

His cock went granite hard, and every problem in the world fled. “Sounds like a very good idea. And if we're a little late, Barst and Gemma will make some excuse or another since they've been invited by the family. Besides … I'm sure my parents will get over it.”

She cupped his erection and gently squeezed. “Don't plan on getting much sleep tonight or the rest of the weekend. I'm really, really hot for you,” she said as she nibbled on his left earlobe.

He closed his eyes, breathed in her unique, floral scent, and hurriedly pulled his clothing off. He got down to the pouch he wore to cover his genitals and would have removed that, too, but Laurel ran her hands over his hips and untied the bindings for him. In turn, he took his time removing her uniform and a lacy pair of shocking red panties.

Soft afternoon light glittered through the crystal panes of their windows. And as a breeze blew in from the gardens, lifting her hair off her shoulders and back, he wasted no time. He'd learned to seize the moment, before some incident or other, relayed by a servant or over a computer, got in their way. There were days when he thought he'd go insane from wanting her. They'd get close only to be called back to duty. Enough was enough.

He pulled her into the large shower stall. She commanded the bath area personal computer to turn on the water, but barely had time to face him again before he backed her into a white, marble wall and kissed her soundly.

She broke the contact with one breathless confirmation. “I love you, spaceman. God … what you do to me.” She seductively ran her hands over her body, but paused to lift and gently squeeze her breasts in a way the drove him crazy with desire. As she did it, she closed her eyes and dropped her head backward. The motion exposed her soft, white neck. He ran his lips over the soft flesh there.

“I love you, too, little Earther. And … ”

“And?” she prompted.

He dropped his hand to her flat abdomen and gently pressed inward. “I know we haven't been together all that long but—”

“You want that baby bad, don't you?”

“Have I been that obvious?”

“You've been talking about nothing but Gemma's baby … when it's due and if you'll be one of the first to hold it.”

“All right,” he admitted. “Yes. I want a child very much. And more after that. I want a very big family so that there'll always be rooms filled with laughter. It's my dream to have a smiling face gazing out each window, waiting for me to come home.”

“Darius, that's a lovely thought.” She slowly smiled.

There was a moment of silence between them as he gazed down at her, longing filling his heart. He waited for her answer.

She lifted her left leg high and wrapped it around his waist. “What are you waiting for, spaceman?”

Her blue eyes glowed with need. And when she thrust her hips forward, his entire body flamed.

With one thrust upward he entered her deeply. She cried out and he felt the tight heat of her body surrounding him. It was exquisitely addicting, and he knew he could stay like that forever, needing nothing more than her softness to encompass him.

“Darius?” she gasped.

“Yes,” he breathlessly responded.

“Have you ever heard of coitus tea?”

He grinned as he kept thrusting slowly into her. “Yes, baby. Where did you hear about it?”

“When I was wandering about the city that first night we landed, someone on a street mentioned it and what it did. I-I found a place that sells the stuff. Could we try it?” she whispered.

He grinned broadly. “That's a rather kinky beverage, little Earther.”

“Gemma says it's harmless. We're adults and it's legal,” she said in response while ignoring his query. “Could we?” she asked as she moved her body in time to his thrusts.

He thrust harder and she moaned so loud he was sure the servants would hear. But never mind. Their employees already knew what the lord and lady of the household were doing. They did it most nights and most mornings. What difference did it make if the sounds of their lovemaking filtered through the entire countryside now?

In asking for such an erotic addition into their lives as coitus tea, she'd just displayed complete trust. And what better way was there than to spend the weekend, ensconced in their room enjoying their sexuality?

And to think he'd once thought her repressed, along with everything else considered backward and uneducated. He'd been wrong then and was glad to make up for his mistakes now.

“We'll leave the party early,” he softly promised. “We'll get your tea, and do things the galaxy has no name for. I have a few positions in mind that you'll enjoy. I really get off when you cry out my name in the middle of a climax.”

“That's because I love you, Darius Starlaw. So much.”

“And I love you,” he told her and kissed her harder before issuing one last sexual demand for the evening. “Now hold on. And don't let go.”

“Never. Never spaceman. Never
ever
.”
