He leaned down towards her ear. “Interesting. It’s amazing he hasn’t told you what he does for a living, if you were really his, you should know that fact, am I right?”

She had absolutely no idea what was coming out of his mouth. She knew exactly what he did for a living. He was a mechanic, what was so interesting about that? Plus, everyone knew what he did.

“I know what he does, Derek. Everyone knows what he does for a living.”

“Of course they do, but you have no idea exactly what that is. Poor Chan, she has absolutely no idea what her
Master
does. Where is Dominic tonight, by the way?”

“At a meeting,” she stated, standing tall.

She knew where he was, but had no clue as to where the meeting was.

“Really? So, that is what he is calling it nowadays?” Derek said, laughing.

“What the hell are you on about?”

“Have you spoken to him, tonight?”

“How is it any of your business if I have spoken to him tonight?” She was really getting pissed off at this back and forth. What was the point to this conversation? She had no clue, but she had enough of it.

Before he answered, she spoke, “You were the last person I expected to see tonight, so I won’t say it was a pleasure, but I have people to speak to, so if you will excuse me.” She moved past him, taking several steps away, before she was pulled back and dragged down the hallway of the mansion.

“What the hell are you doing? Let go of me, now, Derek?” she growled out, trying to loosen his grip.

Rounding a corner, he stopped in front of a room full of people. She watched as he glanced around the room, obviously looking for something or someone.

“So, do you know exactly where Dominic is tonight, and what he is doing?” he asked again, not looking at her.

“Of course I do, I already told you this.”

“Are you sure?”

She nodded her head, but she had a sick feeling twisting around in her gut, telling her that she wasn’t going to like what came next. Derek positioned her in front of him as he pushed his body against her and pointed across the room, towards a group of people.

“Do you see who is over there?”

Her eyes followed to where he pointed. The same girl as before was there, as well as the other woman. She could make out the guy’s profile, everything was familiar to her, until he turned fully towards the way she was standing and spoke to the gentlemen there.

Quickly looking back at Derek, and the smirk covering his face, she felt sick. Looking over towards the group again, she saw they had disappeared, they were nowhere in sight. She could not see them anywhere in the large room. Maybe she imagined seeing Dom standing there with two women. How could he be there, if he was supposed to be at a meeting, in a completely different area.

Her eyes were playing tricks on her, that was it, and it did not help having Derek point the matter out to her as well. She was only picturing him here because she wanted him here, by her side. The person she saw was someone that looked like him, not actually him.

“I didn’t see anyone, Derek.”

“Really, are you positive? Because I know exactly who I saw. You can’t be that blind, Chan.”

“I’ve had enough of your games, Derek.” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Gavin and Jason, heading her way. Thank God. She needed to get away from him and his bloody minds games.

They were starting to get to her in a bad way. Derek started to step closer to her, but didn’t get a chance as both Jason and Gavin stood in his way.

“Well, look who it is, Daddy’s security,” Derek sneered.

“You’re not welcome here, or near Miss Winters. I suggest that you remove yourself from this event, or we will do it for you. Just like we did last time,” Gavin growled as he stepped towards him.

Derek’s face fell, and he moved back away from her. “This isn’t the end of our conversation, Chan,” he threatened, before he walked away from all three of them.

“God, I’m so glad to see you guys.”

“Did he do anything to you, Miss Winters?” Jason asked.

“No, Jas, he only scared me a little, nothing major. I don’t feel like hanging around here anymore. Can you guys take me home, please?”

“As you wish, Miss Winters. I’ll get the car, meet you out front,” Gavin answered.

“Where is Joel?” she asked.

“He is waiting out front for all of us,” Jason replied.

As Gavin walked off, Jason and she walked towards the front entrance. As they were walking towards the entrance, whispers of others conversations hit her.

“Did you see him? Oh my God, I never knew he was that gorgeous.”

“I would so get a divorce just to spend one night with him.”

“I heard that his cock was huge, and I mean huge, and pierced. Seriously, just the thought of him is making me wet.”

Ok, so didn’t need to hear that one!

“Did you see Renee with him? She paid a fortune for his time this weekend, but so worth it, lucky bitch!”

“I would sell my house to be with a man like that, it would so totally be worth the price.”

Ok, who the hell were they all talking about ? Did she miss someone here that was that important to them all? She had not seen anyone that would make her say the things that they were all saying, that was for sure. She stopped near the door as Jason left her for a minute to grab her coat. While she was waiting for him to return so they could leave, a voice called out from behind her and she groaned.

“Well, if it isn’t Chantal Winters. The last person I expected to see here tonight. So, I see Mommy and Daddy sent their lap dog to do their share for the evening.”

“Renee, I’d say it was nice to see you again, but it wasn’t.”

She laughed shrilly. “She has a backbone now. Leaving already, can’t handle the heat?”

“Although it’s none of your business, I was already leaving before I had the lovely pleasure of seeing you, but you are the last person I’d ever want to be left alone in a room with.”

Renee stepped towards her. “So, I heard through the grapevine that you have finally ended up with Mr Grayson. How sweet, little Chantal’s dreams are coming true.”

“That doesn’t concern you in any way, but yes. And you can’t ruin this either.”

“So, where is that lovely man of yours tonight?”

“At a meeting.”

Renee’s laughter made her jump it was so loud, even the people across from them stopped mid-conversation and turned their way.

“Really? I swear he would be here with you, not at a meeting. Maybe something better came up and he didn’t want to waste that time with you. I really can’t see what he sees in you.”

“I don’t give a hell what you think, Renee. I know where he is. And he does want to be with me, thank you very much. So, what are you doing here, looking for your next wealthy husband? What number are you up to now, four?”

Sneering at her, Renee said, “Sweetie, if you really think that, good for you. And I do have someone here with me, and I’ll tell you, it’s going to be one hell of a night, been waiting for this night for a very, very long time. If you will excuse me, I see my date. Enjoy your alone time.”

Jesus, that woman got on her nerves in a huge way. She never understood how they became friends in the first place. They were completely different in every way, but after finding out that she had slept with Derek while they were together, whatever friendship they had was way out the window.

Making her way out the door, she noticed Joel standing around looking for her.

“There you are. Do you know how hard it is to find you?” he asked.

“I’m sorry, I ran into several people that I needed to talk to on my parents’ behalf.”

He wrapped his arm around her waist. “Well, next time I’m sticking with you. Do you know how many single woman are here looking for their next boy toy?”  He laughed.

“Majority of them are married, so if you’re going to be accepting any of their offers, I’d check out exactly who their husbands are.”

“Don’t worry. I’m saving myself for the girl of my dreams.”

She peeked up at him. “And who is that, Joel?”

“She will know soon enough,” he replied.

The limo they had arrived in sat and the bottom of the stairs. Jason held the door open for her and she slid in. Jason did the same behind her, and Joel on the other side. Gavin pulled away from the mansion and she breathed a sigh of relief as the car moved further and further away. Tonight had been too much for her; having run into both Derek and Renee on the same night was hell, literally.

As the car rounded the last turn off towards Nate’s house, Jason gripped her chin and turned her head towards him. “What is that around your neck?”

Crap! I forgot all about it!
“Nothing to worry about, Jas,” she lied as she wrapped her coat tightly around her neck.

“You have marks. What are they from?” he demanded.

“Don’t you dare sit there and demand anything from me, Jason.”

“I’m paid to look after you, Miss Winters.”

“I know that Jas. They will be gone in a couple of days, nothing to worry about, and I won’t tell my parents so your ass is safe.”

“That is not the point, Miss Winters.”

“You didn’t have them when we arrived here, Chan. Even makeup wouldn’t have covered those up. So, it can only be that guy I saw you with earlier that did it.” Joel said.

She quickly turned herself to face him. She hated Derek, but she didn’t exactly have a death wish on him.

“I knew I shouldn’t have left you alone that long,” Jason growled.

“Jas, it’s fine. You can’t be there every time I need you.”

“Yes, I should be, Miss Winters. Gavin turn the car around,” he ordered.

“Gavin, don’t you dare!” she yelled up to the front of the limo. “How many times do I have to tell you to call me Chantal, Jason? This Miss Winters thing is so annoying, and you call my mother that. Plus, you have worked for my father for so many years. If you don’t start calling me Chantal, I’m going to let slip about that time you were meant to be watching me at that party in college instead of running off for the night to fuck some random chick.”
Checkmate
.

“As you wish, Chantal.”

Gavin laughed in front, and she couldn’t help either as she joined in with him while Jason sat there sulking.

Pulling up out front of Nate’s, all of them got out and stood there. “Thank you for the night, guys. I promise I won’t see my parents for several days.”

“Joel, thank you for coming tonight. I would invite you in but since it isn’t my place, and I really don’t want to deal with you and Nate fighting, I’ll just go to bed.”

“No problem, Chan. We’ll catch up next time I’m in town.” He bent down and his mouth connected with hers. It was only for a brief moment, and then it was over.

She ambled up to the porch and stood there as they both got back into the car and drove up the road. Now, she just had to hide her neck from Nate until she got into her room. Slipping the key from her purse and stepping lightly into his house, she was surprised not to find him standing there waiting for her to get home.

Making it to her room, undressing and jumping under the warm water of the shower, she thought over tonight. She swore that she had seen Dominic there, but she couldn’t have. He was at a meeting somewhere else, not there. He wouldn’t lie to her about where he was, would he? No, he wouldn’t, he loved her, and wanted to be with her every chance he had. She was just seeing things because she wanted him home, in her bed and deep inside of her, exactly like he had told her in that text message.

Drying herself off, she pulled her phone out and sent him a text.

Chantal: Wish u were with me tonight. It was boring, needed a distraction. I ran into people I didn’t want to see. How is the meeting going?

She curled up on the bed, waiting for a reply. Several minutes later, she got one.

Dominic: Busy
.

Ok, I wasn’t expecting that kind of reply.
How rude of him.

Chantal: Sorry to disturb you, have a good night then
.

She turned her phone off. It wasn’t her fault that he had a meeting. He could have cancelled it, for crying out loud. There was no need to be so blunt with her. She was too tired to get into it any further.

Closing her eyes, although he just shit her off just now, all she could think about was the way he would have her when they saw each other the next day. She was wet within seconds from the thoughts running through her head. Moaning, she pulled the blanket up her body, curled into the pillow, and dozed off, knowing she was about to have some of the wettest dreams ever.

******

D
ominic was having a shit of a time at this event. Renee could not keep her hands off of him. He swore he heard Chantal’s voice, but every time he looked around she wasn’t there. Maria was the only saviour of the night so far; excusing them from groups of people he didn’t want to mingle with, only to then be pulled back towards them by Renee.

She was really starting to get on his nerves. Maria and he had spoken about tonight’s event, knowing he would run into several of his clients here. If that was the case, she was to tell them that he was here with a client. If that did not work, she was to excuse them saying he had an important phone call. Well, five important phone calls later, they were standing across from the bar, listening as Renee spoke to one of ladies in their group. He laughed as she made a joke; spoke nicely as he was taught. He was here as her date.

Maria tapped him on the arm to get his attention, and he leaned down so he could hear what she had to say.

“I swear I just saw Chantal across the room,” she whispered.
Fuck! I really hope she didn’t see Chantal.

Excusing himself from the group, he pulled Maria with him as he made his way away from the ballroom. Stopping outside of another room, he asked, “Are you sure you saw her?”

“I’m not sure, Dominic. It looked exactly like her. I thought you said she wouldn’t be here tonight?”

“She wasn’t on the invite list. If she was on that list, I wouldn’t have been here tonight.”

Moving into the next room, he heard Renee calling his name. He could not get away from her for even a second before she was calling after him.
