Sometimes it seems that presenting a book to the world is a three-part affair.

The first impression for the reader comes from the cover. Luckily, the cover designer, Keith Carlson, produced yet another great cover. (Love the eyes!) People do judge a book by its cover, so I’m very fortunate to be in such good hands.

Editing is the next thing a reader notices. (Or, hopefully, doesn’t notice!) Only when one has expert editing does the writing flow and not distract the reader with bad grammar, awkward punctuation, and sentences that trip up the tongue.

Liz Johnston, Eric Berglund, Christel Hall, and my wife Kit pulled off another miracle. They took the messy pile of words I handed them and scrubbed and polished it into something presentable.

Of course, after they fixed things up, I continued to make changes, which gives me ample opportunity to put mistakes back into the manuscript!

The third part of producing a book is the story itself, but I probably shouldn’t comment on that other than to say it was great fun to write.
