“Do you feel that?” He rotates his hips. “We’re a perfect fit.”

I’m filled to capacity. He’s so big and hard. I nod silently, hoping that satisfies his need for confirmation. He pulls out a few inches, then glides back in. I gasp in utter pleasure as he repeats it over and over again. I melt into the mattress, lost, forever his.

The bliss on her face turns me on more than anything. Every so often her eyes flutter shut and I struggle to maintain a gentle rhythm. She’s mine now. Erin saved herself for me. It’s something I’ve struggled to accept. But now that I’m inside her, I know how sacred it really is to be her only lover.

I snap my hips harder and she screams my name. I plunge my hands into her long hair and devour her hot mouth. She writhes and moans beneath me, her fingernails digging into my back.

“Foster.”

I lift my head, meeting her gaze.

“I love you,” she whispers.

Those words cut through me like a jagged knife. My heart explodes and I can’t contain the passion. I pull out and flip her over, desperate to get her on her knees. I wrap my arm around her waist and slam into her.

“Fuck yes!” she screams. The shock in her voice spurs me on and I slam into her again and again.

“I love your tight little pussy, Erin.” I grip her hips tighter and thrust harder.

She yells again.

I take shorter strokes now, then jerk violently. “This is what my love feels like, Erin.” I hit her again with a merciless thrust and that’s all she can handle, her inner muscles contract and we’re both gone.

Minutes later, I pull her on top of me, her head resting on my chest. “Eight years,” I whisper.

“Eight,” she repeats.

, I’ll rip him apart. Nothing will ever separate us again, not as long as there’s breath in my body. After an hour, she lifts her head. “I don’t regret what we just did, Foster. But you lied—tricked me into believing you were someone else. And before we go home, I expect some answers.”

I tilt her chin and our gazes meet. “Or?”

“I may never talk to you again.”

I’m not sure if she’s just trying to prove a point. “What about the
I love you
part?”

“It’s true. But the lies . . .”

“There’s nothing to hide,” I assure her. “Transparency is my middle name.”

“Right.” She rolls her eyes.

“I’m serious, Erin. We’re together now.”

“In bed.”

“What?” I sit up, cradling her in my arms still.

“Sex doesn’t wipe the slate clean. I need to know why we’re in a private sex club. Why aren’t we in your bed or at my house?”

I knew this would happen eventually. She’s right of course. If she requires full disclosure to feel better, I’ll do my best. “I sent the invitation, Erin. Decided there was no other way to get you in my arms.”

She wiggles out of my grasp and puts some distance between us. “B-But Katie . . .”

“We’ve been friends for years.”

“What?”

I shrug. “Does it make any difference
who
the invitation came from?”

“Yeah, it does.” She stands, folding her arms over her chest. “But I need a few minutes to clear my head before we continue discussing things.”

I watch as she stalks to the bathroom and closes the door. I hear the lock click.
Think Wagner, if you don’t convince her this wasn’t just about sex, she’ll leave you in the dust forever.
I let my own selfish motives get in the way of Erin’s feelings and now I have to face the consequences.

I roll out of bed, then knock on the bathroom door. “Come out, baby.”

She doesn’t answer.

Pretty sure this is going to take a while. I cross the room in search of a shot of whiskey.
I’ve waited this long to get Erin back, what’s a few more minutes?
I glance at the bathroom door, knowing the answer.
It matters, my whole future is at stake.
