Animal-like groans came from Isaac as he thrust
once, twice, and a third time into her before stilling and coming. Her pussy
convulsed around his cock as he ejaculated inside of her. She couldn’t help but
press her cunt on him, trying to get as much of his cock into her as possible.

When her orgasm finally descended and she could
breathe, she collapsed on his chest. They both panted heavily as their
sweat-soaked bodies rubbed against each other. Nothing was said for several
long moments, but it was a comfortable silence. Mona felt herself starting to
drift off to sleep, but before she let darkness take over she tried to push
herself up.

Isaac had a steel-like hold around her, and if
she was being honest, it felt right lying naked in his arms. His heart had been
pounding something fierce, but the longer they lay together in the silent
darkness, the slower the rhythm became.

“I should go to my room.”

He didn’t let her move for several moments, but
finally he released his hold on her. She was now free to go, but she found
herself staying where she was, on his chest with his softening cock buried
inside of her. He wrapped his arms around her again and they stayed like that
for a few more minutes. Finally she lifted off of him and got off the bed. He
propped his hands behind his head and watched her. Mona admitted that she was a
little self-conscious about her nudity, despite the fact they had just been
intimate.

When she was fully clothed they stared at each
other in silence. What could she say? Nothing came to mind so she turned and
wrapped her hand around the doorknob. Before she could open it, she felt Isaac
place his hand on her shoulder and gently turn her around. Her throat instantly
went dry as she gazed into his eyes. Neither one of them said anything, but
they didn’t need to because the chemistry between them was tangible. A second
later he dipped his head and kissed her deeply. It wasn’t a kiss that was meant
to arouse her, although it certainly did that. The kiss had her heart stopping
and every emotion inside of her blooming.

His cock grew hard against her belly again, but
he didn’t attempt to fuck her. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders and
brought her closer to him until it was like they were one. The kiss lasted
several minutes until she finally pulled away and rested her forehead on his
chest.

“This wasn’t just sex, Mona.”

She felt him kiss the top of her head before she
turned and left his bedroom. That was what she wanted to hear, but it certainly
made things a lot more complicated, even more so than having sex with her best
friend’s father had just done.

Chapter Ten

The next morning wasn’t nearly as awkward for
Mona as she initially thought it would be. That was, until Kara came into the
room. Mona thought for sure her best friend could see the guilt all over her
face, but thankfully Kara seemed more inclined to discuss her date last night
with Marcus.

“You came home late last night, Kara.”

Isaac held half a newspaper in one hand and a
cup of coffee in the other. He sounded like a father, not the man she had slept
with last night. He didn’t look at either one of them, for which Mona was both
thankful and disappointed.

“Not too late. I was home by one.”

Isaac laid the paper on the table, but instead
of looking at Kara he had his gaze trained on Mona. She could feel her face
heat under his stare, but for the life of her she couldn’t tear her gaze from
his.

“I must have thought it was later than it was.”
When he turned to look at Kara she was able to do the same. Kara was oblivious
over what was clearly happening between her and Isaac, and for that Mona was
thankful.

He got up from the table and left the kitchen.
Mona finished eating in silence as she listened to Kara discuss her very personal
love life with Marcus.

“You would not believe how wrong everyone is
about Marcus. He is so sweet, Mona.”

She didn’t remind Kara that every girl said the
same thing about him in the beginning, because Kara knew, everyone knew. Mona
could see that adoring look in her best friend’s eyes. Was it the same look
Mona had when she looked at Isaac?

“Are you even listening to me?”

Mona blanked several times and looked at Kara.
“Unfortunately, I am.”

Kara’s cheeks turned pink with her irritation.
“What is that supposed to mean?”

Mona shook her head. She didn’t want to get into
this with her right now, especially since Mona didn’t have a lot of room to
harp. She didn’t want to ruin that lovestruck look in her best friend’s eyes,
but she also didn’t want to see her come home one day devastated. She opened
her mouth to speak, but Kara held her hand up to stop her.

“Don’t start that whole rumor shit about Marcus.
Everyone only seems to be talking about the negative things about him instead
of the positive.” She stood and took her plate to the sink. “I thought you out
of all people would give me a little more credit than that. Is my judgment that
bad?” Kara didn’t wait for her to respond. She left the kitchen and went up the
stairs.

Mona sat there in absolute silence, not
understanding what had just happened. When she was finished eating she knew she
had to make things right with Kara. She didn’t want her to be upset with her,
especially when Mona really had no ground to stand on when it came to Marcus.
She was like every other person in town when it came to speculating about him.
Maybe she was wrong to judge him? Maybe she shouldn’t judge someone else when
she had screwed her best friend’s father.

She made her way upstairs and stopped in front
of Kara’s closed bedroom door. A few quick knocks and she heard Kara’s
permission to enter. Mona opened the door and saw her sitting on her bed. Mona
stepped inside and shut the door behind her.

“Did you come in here to lecture me about Marcus
again? You know everyone in this damn town along with my father seems to remind
me all the time that I need to be careful when it comes to him.”

“They are only looking out for you. Practically
the whole town has known you since you were a toddler.”

Kara exhaled and lay back on the bed. “I know
they mean well, but if you were in my situation wouldn’t it get a bit old to
hear people always saying you shouldn’t be with the one person you really
wanted to be with?”

Mona sat in the chair across from Kara and
thought about it. She was right. If people knew how she felt about Isaac, there
would be so much criticism that it would strangle Mona. She didn’t doubt that
criticism would be directed toward her, because heaven knew they thought she
was trash compared to him. He was, after all, one of the nation’s top
attorneys, while she on the other hand was the daughter of a couple of drunks.

“You’re right.”

Kara sat up and gave her a strange look. “That’s
it? You aren’t going to try and convince me otherwise?”

Mona shook her head. “I have no room to talk
about anyone’s life. Everything I’ve heard is only hearsay anyways. For all I
know he could be a saint.” Nothing was said. Kara smiled and patted the spot
next to her.

“Sit next to me.”

When Mona
was beside her, they both lay back on the bed. She stared at the immaculate
white ceiling and thought about where her life had led her.

“Kara?”

“Yeah?”

Mona knew what Kara was going to say, but she
asked anyway. “If there was someone that you knew in your heart was the one you
wanted to spend the rest of your life with, but you knew a relationship with
them would hurt someone very special, would you still want to be with them?”
Kara didn’t say anything for so long that Mona finally looked at her.

Kara stared at her. “Is this your way of saying
my relationship with Marcus is hurting you?” Kara sat up and got off the bed,
but before she could step away Mona gabbed her hand.

“I’m not talking about you and Marcus, honest.
I’m asking you as my best friend. What I really want to know if you would let
your heart lead the way even though it might be wrong in the eyes of so many
other people.” Maybe it was wrong for Mona to even ask Kara this given the
circumstances, but she honestly wanted to know her thoughts on it.

Would you
actually give up what you have with Isaac if Kara was totally against it?
Yes, yes, she would, because Mona didn’t even want to think about
not having her best friend in her life.

“If I told you it was wrong, I would be a
hypocrite, but then again, if a relationship would really hurt someone close to
me then I honestly don’t know what I’d do.”

Mona released Kara’s hand and lay back on the
bed.

“What is this really about? Is this really about
you?”

How was Mona supposed to be honest about it? “I
was curious is all.” When Kara didn’t respond Mona glanced at her. She held a
look that spoke volumes. Mona knew she didn’t believe a word she had just said,
but Kara wasn’t the kind of person to dig when it was clear the subject was
over. That was a trait Mona loved about Kara. She should have kept her mouth
shut, but curiosity and guilt had gotten the best of her.

“Whatever you say, but when you feel like
telling me the whole story I’m here. You know I wouldn’t judge you.”

Mona knew this situation might break Kara’s vow
on not judging, because if it was the other way around, Mona didn’t know how
she would react. Kara left for work shortly after that, leaving Mona stuck at
the house by herself with nothing but her thoughts to bombard her.

Mona brought the ladle filled with Alfredo sauce
to her mouth and gently blew to cool it off. She wanted to make dinner for
Isaac and Kara, but Kara had cancelled due to another late night date with
Marcus.

She had somewhat successfully avoided Isaac for
the past week. It had been hard, and she had been able to do so to a point, but
with each passing day she had found it harder and harder to resist him. Even
though she knew why she should stay away, and had successfully done so, she
thought it was dumb as hell given all they had done.

They hadn’t had sex again, but there had been
touches and kisses in dark corners. Things needed to be discussed before they
got even more out of hand, but every time she talked herself into telling Kara
everything, her best friend decided to stay out yet again.

There were numerous times when Kara did finally
make it home, reeking of alcohol. After everything that had happened with Mona
and her mother and father, she thought Kara would be smarter about drinking,
but that clearly wasn’t the case.

When the food was done, Mona put it in the oven
to stay warm and decided to take a shower. Alfredo sauce littered her clothing
and hair, and she only imagined what she smelled like after cooking over the
stove all day.

Once she was upstairs and in the bathroom she
turned the water on and let it heat. Her clothes were next to go, and when she
was finally under the hot spray of the water, she closed her eyes and let
everything wash away. Her thoughts, her emotions, her very self twirled around
the drain until there wasn’t anything left.

She put a generous amount of shampoo in her palm
and lathered it in her hand. The scent of coconut and pineapple filled the
bathroom and Mona couldn’t help the small moan of bliss that left her. The
water cascaded over her breasts and between her thighs. Despite her willpower,
she felt herself grow aroused and pictured Isaac’s big, smooth hands running
down her body.

Her imagination was so vivid that she actually
felt his fingers caress the small of her back and the cheeks of her ass. It was
a delicious feeling that had a fire burning in the pit of her stomach. A moan
escaped her as she felt Isaac place his hand between her thighs, right at her
center. The feeling was so real, almost too real. She snapped her eyes open and
spun around.

The ground was slick and she lost her balance,
but Isaac was right there, his strong arms wrapped around her waist and keeping
her from falling. Heart pounding, blood rushing through her veins, and
breathing erratic, Mona stared into his eyes. She let her gaze travel down his
golden neck. Droplets of water cascaded across his bronzed skin, as if he had
been working under the hot sun all day. She shouldn’t watch those droplets as
they dipped lower and lower on his body, because it was all too tempting.

When her gaze finally landed on where the drops
of water ended, she licked her lips. His cock was already erect, hard and
straining toward her as water ran down it in rivulets. Her breasts rose and
fell as she panted. Their eyes locked again and she couldn’t stop the rush of
emotions that bombarded her.

“You’ve been avoiding me, Mona.” His whispered
words played across her lips in a sensual touch.

He moved closer, so close that their mouths were
no more than centimeters apart. All she would have to do was rise up on her
toes and press her lips against his. She had been avoiding him, and she still
should right now, but she couldn’t, no matter how hard she tried. There was a
magnetism about him that she couldn’t break from.
