ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I WANT TO THANK A
number of people, without whose help this book would not have happened. First, my son, Domino Hof. Some people think he’s a dog, but they are wrong. Domino is the best friend I’ve ever had. I’d also like to thank Madam Suzette, my office wife, who has always been there for me and whom I love with all my heart. I would like to thank Judith Regan, my publisher and New York wife; if you ever want to change careers, there’s a room with your name on it at the BunnyRanch. I’d also like to thank Pablo Fenjves, who helped me turn my life into a book. Come back soon, man, the girls miss you. I also have to thank Ron Jeremy, my bitch, because I’d never hear the end of it if I didn’t: I hope the next twenty years are as much fun as the first twenty. Finally, I’d like to thank every woman I have ever met, including the 4,000-plus I’ve slept with (even the ones who broke my heart). The world would be a lonely place without you.

DENNIS HOF
, a modern-day P.T. Barnum, has revolutionized legal prostitution. Starting in 1992 with the purchase of the Moonlite BunnyRanch, Hof took the Nevada brothel business out of the shadows and directly into America’s living rooms. His television show,
Cathouse
, was the highest rated reality show in HBO’s history. His worldwide speaking engagements include appearances at Harvard University, Oxford University (an honor previously accorded to six US presidents, Mother Teresa, Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, and the Dalai Lama) and Trinity College in Dublin. Hof’s empire now includes six additional brothels—including the Love Ranch North, the Sagebrush, the Kit Kat, the Alien Cathouse, and the Love Ranch South—as well as a strip club, Madam Suzette’s Red Light Cabaret, a restaurant, BunnyRanch Bar & Cigar, and the NV/50 Nightclub.

He lives in Carson City, Nevada, with his beloved dog, Domino, but never lacks for company.
