Angelica nodded. “Yes, I like Paul, he is a nice guy,” she said as she narrowed her eyes, analyzing him.

The doctor reached over and touched Angelica’s arm, causing Angelica to step back and look down at his hand.

“Come with me. I want to show you something.” He lightly tugged at her arm and led her around the corner to a door. The sign on the door read, “Authorized Personnel Only. Not an Exit.” He lifted his badge and scanned it through a security device. A green light flashed and the door opened. Dr. Bishop stepped aside so Angelica could enter first, then he looked back around the exhibit suspiciously, making sure no one saw them go in. He quickly closed the door behind them, turning the knob to make sure it was securely locked.

Angelica gazed around in amazement, as he led her through what appeared to be a large warehouse--at least two stories in height--where there were enormous shelves holding crates, creating aisles.

Angelica stopped to scan for an escape route. “Wait, where are you taking me? How do I know you won’t harm me?”

The doctor looked at Angelica with a genuine smile and kindness in his eyes. He chuckled slightly. “You’re safe with me, I promise. I must show you something… you’ll understand… just follow me.”

Angelica timidly shrugged her shoulders, “Okay…” and continued in step behind him. Her heart was pounding rapidly against her chest.

The doctor opened another door and they walked into a brightly lit lab with long tables and examination lamps. He walked over to a shelf and gently pulled out a long plastic tube about four inches in circumference. “Inside this is an ancient Egyptian scroll found by the Soviet KGB in 1961,” Dr. Bishop said as he put the tube on a table and picked up a pair of latex gloves and put them on. He then pulled over a large mounted magnifying glass and turned on the lamp at the table. Carefully, he opened the tube and pulled out the scroll. The doctor looked at Angelica, giving her the impression that he was nervous, cautious not to damage the valuable contents inside.

“This was found in ‘The Tomb of the Visitor.’ It’s called ‘The Zolkin Papyrus’ … named after the Scientist, Sergey Zolkin, who discovered it. Through my research, I learned that it was stolen from the Soviet government by an archeologist who defected. He brought it here in exchange for citizenship. He’s now dead, however… ruthlessly killed.” Dr. Bishop looked at Angelica with a rather serious expression.

Angelica felt her heart start to pound against her chest. “Okay,” she murmured.

“As a journalist,” the doctor continued, “I am sure you remember the Russian KGB agent-turned-journalist who was poisoned by polonium with the tip of an umbrella. Well a similar thing happened to this archeologist… never leaked to the press, so no one knew about it. The scroll eventually ended up here at the Smithsonian and only a select few, I suspect, have seen it. I stumbled upon it by mere accident. I was working on artifacts brought back from a recent exhibition in Egypt and while in the dry storage area, I noticed a box. This box stood out. It had red tape marked ‘The Tomb of the Visitor.’ So… I picked it up and carefully looked around to make sure my colleagues had not noticed. I wasn’t sure what I had in my hands…”

Angelica glanced around the room to make sure they were still alone, causing Dr. Bishop to stop in mid-sentence. “I’m sorry, please continue,” she whispered.

“I had researched the supposed ‘Tomb of the Visitor’… and I didn’t see any harm in taking a look. When I opened it, I was astonished… I couldn’t believe my eyes. I wondered how many others had seen it. I realized why it was tucked away and hidden in the corner of the storage room. See for yourself…” Dr. Bishop opened the scroll as Angelica’s eyes widened.

“Oh wow!” she uttered as she looked up at the doctor. “Is that what I think it is…?” Angelica pointed down to an image on the scroll, careful not to touch. Dr. Bishop just smiled and nodded.

“Oh my!” Angelica lifted her hand to her open mouth.

“This won’t be in the lab for much longer,” the doctor told her. “I just found out they were taking samples of the papyrus to determine the age of the scroll. It’s thought to be dated around 11,000 BC. You are very lucky to be in the right place at the right time. If you want to call it luck.” Dr. Bishop peered up at Angelica with a straight face.

“Now see here…” he pointed. “Depicted on the scroll are two small beings with thin bodies and irregularly large heads, the eyes large and black, and beside them… there appears to be a spacecraft.”

“Yes, a spaceship!” Angelica looked at Dr. Bishop, astonished. “And those are Egyptian people on the other side of the spaceship! Amazing!” Angelica sighed.

Angelica examined the scroll. “What is that?” she pointed, carefully.

“Oh, the Tyet-knot symbol,” Dr. Bishop said. “That is the symbol for the “Blood of Isis”. Some believe the Tyet-knot is the vagina, the womb and the ovary. It symbolizes birth and life giving.”

“Fascinating,” Angelica murmured.

Angelica looked back at the scroll “Okay… So why is there a bull with large horns?”

“Well, there are several theories around the role the bull played in Egyptian history. A number of gods were worshipped in the form of bulls or cows. The domesticated bovine was the animal the Egyptian economy was based on. They were milked, sacrificed, and eaten… and used as laborers alongside the human labor force.”

Angelica felt her cell phone vibrate in her purse. She reached down and pulled it out. It was Andrew. Angelica sent the call straight to voicemail, and then looked back up at Dr. Bishop. “My apologies, please continue.”

The doctor smiled politely… “The Soviets started a secret mission in Egypt called ‘Project Isis,’ after they had learned of a legend dating back before the time of the Pharaohs. A visitor from space… Well, the legend goes… A group of visitors came from another star system, passing to the Egyptian people wisdom and technology. And some of the technology was left behind as blueprints. But I’ll get to that shortly,” he said calmly.

“Blueprints?” Angelica murmured.

Dr. Bishop smiled and nodded. “They called these visitors ‘The Wing Gods’ or ‘The Sky Gods.’ The Soviets were captivated by this legend and, as always, their real goal was to recover ancient technology at a low cost to win the cold war. Oh, and it gets more interesting… Many years after, in 1960, the Russians intercepted a phone conversation between two local Egyptians discussing ‘The Visitor’s Tomb’. Well, they eventually found the tomb in 1961.”

“Fascinating!” Angelica whispered.

Encouraged, Dr. Bishop continued. “They had gone to great lengths to hide their expedition from the Egyptians, dressing their scientists in peasant and military clothing.”

Dr. Bishop noticed Angelica look down at her watch and lower her brows. She shot an anxious glance at him before looking back at the scroll. She was feeling increasingly antsy to get back to her office at the
Liberator
. Wherever he was going with the history lesson on Egypt, he needed to hurry it along, she thought.

His instincts were correct. “Okay, moving along, the KGB was deeply interested in UFOs due to a rise in reported sightings of circular ships. Their goal was to obtain advanced knowledge to see if it might prove useful for military purposes.”

Okay,” she said testily.

“You know, many years later, a few of the scientists from the expedition founded a group called the ‘Osiris Devotion Group’ and returned to the secret location of the tomb in Egypt in 1985. They mysteriously disappeared that evening at a site near the tomb. Just an interesting fact.”

Angelica appeared surprised. “Really, just disappeared?”

Dr. Bishop put the scroll down carefully on the table. “Yes, just disappeared. That’s how it was reported in the Cairo newspapers.”

Dr. Bishop took a seat on a metal stool and pulled another stool over for Angelica. “We are currently doing another excavation at a site in Egypt at what is known as ‘The New Kingdom,’ on the old slave route to the ‘Valley of Kings.’”

“That is an interesting question.” Angelica appeared puzzled, staring blankly at Dr. Bishop.

Dr. Bishop continued, “There are other ancient civilizations in the history of mankind before Christ that match the rapid advancements in knowledge and technology similar to the Egyptians. For example, Mexico and China.”

Angelica put her hand on her hip and postured slightly back, “Really?”

Dr. Bishop nodded. “Yes. The Mayans also created great Pyramids, you know, but were much more barbaric. However, in spite of that, they had an incredible knowledge of astronomy, and were obsessed by it.”

Without warning, Dr. Bishop stopped and stared at the door, and then gradually turned his attention back to the scroll. The air smelled ancient and musky. Angelica sneezed. “Excuse me!” She rubbed under her nose with her index finger.

Dr. Bishop glanced up at Angelica. “Bless you! My apologies… It’s quite dusty back here. Where was I? Oh yes… And in China there is a legend of the first emperors of China being called the 'Sons of Heaven' and supposedly they built the first pyramids of China. Some believe there are large numbers of graves containing skeletons of strange looking beings with large heads and bodies a little over four feet tall near the site of a pyramid in China. Unfortunately, no expeditions have been permitted there after the rumored discovery.” Dr. Bishop appeared disappointed.

“The Pyramid of the Sun of Teotihuacan in Mexico… Well, they have found granite stone disks with strange hieroglyphs that, according to some experts, tell of a UFO crash 12,000 years ago--roughly 10,000 BC. The translation reads ‘beings with big heads came down from heaven a long, long time ago.’ That makes two ancient civilizations that created the same pyramid type structures, if you were counting.” Angelica nodded and shifted anxiously in her seat.

Dr. Bishop smirked. “Now here is an intriguing question… Why and how did these civilizations, completely independent and isolated from each other, create the same type of giant, triangular structures that can in some cases be seen from the moon and how did they advance so quickly compared to all other civilizations? Interesting… wouldn’t you say?”

“Yes… peculiar, Doctor,” Angelica said as she raised her hand and cupped her chin.

The doctor continued in almost a whisper, causing Angelica to look around to make sure no one was listening.

“You see there was a passageway discovered inside of the Egyptian ‘Tomb of the Visitor,’ supposedly leading to a secret chamber. I believe this chamber is what is known as ‘The Chamber of Knowledge,’ located under either the Sphinx or the Great Pyramid. Since 820 AD, explorers have been searching for this hidden chamber. It is unclear what the Soviets discovered when they entered it. Apparently, it was quite secretive, because they decided to delete the coordinates of it in their report and the only scientist who entered along with the military was later found dead under mysterious circumstances. Therefore, my recent discovery of this scroll proves the legend of ‘The Tomb of the Visitor’ is true. The tomb does exist. And I am quite certain ‘The Chamber of Knowledge’ does, as well. I believe that is where the ancient blueprints for highly-advanced technology were found.” Dr. Bishop raised his eyebrows in confidence.

Angelica nodded. “I see.”

“The pyramids were created for a purpose. Whoever constructed the pyramids could determine longitude and latitude. Longitude and latitude were not widely used until the 1600’s. A Russian astronomer discovered that the Giza structures converge to one particular point. We’ve always speculated as to their purpose. Since it’s believed all three giant pyramids are in perfect alignment with star constellations. So, we must ask ourselves
why
, Angelica. I’ve heard it said that the ancient aliens came to earth to build the pyramids. Some believe they were used for navigational purposes. I believe they were transmitters.” Dr. Bishop’s forehead wrinkled as he looked intensely at her.

Angelica lowered her chin and met his eyes. “Okay.” She was definitely curious now. “Go on… wait, Dr. Bishop…”

Angelica broke her concentration and raised her hand. “It’s all very fascinating, but what does this have to do with me and the cattle mutilations, Doctor?”

Dr. Bishop crinkled his chin and narrowed his eyes. “Don’t you see? It’s evidence that not only do aliens exist, they’ve been on earth all along. You started with the cattle mutilations. Now, I’m going to help you advance to the next level, Angelica. I too have been interested in the cattle mutilations. For some, it starts there, for some… leading you down a long, convoluted path of more questions than answers. I am going to speed you along. They use the tissue and blood to feed.” Dr. Bishop leaned back into the chair and observed Angelica’s reaction. She didn’t appear shocked. He frowned and lifted his chin curiously. “You don’t seem surprised.”

“That’s what Dr. Goolrick said.” Angelica paused. “So that is what you believe, as well?”

“Yes, they soak themselves in large tanks of the concoction and absorb it into their skin. Supposedly, they don’t have a digestive system.”

Angelica scratched behind her ear as she held Dr. Bishop’s gaze.

Angelica was lost in thought. During her investigation, she had assumed that when she finally discovered the truth behind the mutilations, it would be something more believable.

Dr. Bishop noticed Angelica was deep in thought. “Angelica?”

Angelica flinched at the sound of her name and gazed blankly at Dr. Bishop. “Yes, please continue.”
