doing the bookkeeping.
At the Wiley house, Brenda had saw Saul rushing into the kitchen getting his keys fast.
She was by the sink washing off some dishes and as he; left she hurried over to the window
looking out.

Noticed him and Ella leaving together in his truck she mumbled, “Oh lord, please love her right
boy, knew this day was coming and dreaded it”.
In the truck driving, Saul asked, “What about your parents?”
“If you’re lucky they will be home about 9:00 pm”.
He just looked at her, as she stared out the window silently and Saul thought her parents must
not be cool at all or parents.
Ten minutes later made it to her house Saul got out of the truck and opened the passenger door
for her then few seconds later walked into the house with him just looking around.
The home was much different from his parent’s home what he was familiar with.

Pure old fashion country, it looked all flashy and very bright colors of everything and the
curtains were actually orange.
Ella was a bit nervous, as she just recently turned eighteen and was scared, but knew she cared a
great deal for him.

Giving a little smile, taking her trembling hand, Saul asked, “Where do we go?”
Pointing she replied, “The last door on the left is my room”.
Holding her hand Saul led her to the room, and asked, “Hey is your room blinding?”
“Not at all, I am far from my parents or want to be anything like them”.

Walking into her bedroom Saul shut the door and it was dim a bit dark, Ella had a big canopy
top bed with a deep purple comforter.
Immediately Saul went to kiss her and putting her hand against his chest asked, “What if you
don’t like it with me, because I don’t know anything”.

“I will like it, you don’t have to do or worry about nothing”, Ella smiled, and Saul added, “Just
let me do my job”, and winked.
“Make me feel good”.

“Oh I promise you will”, smiling.

Looking at him staring back and said, “Yes I know you can do the job just don’t be disappointed
Saul”.
“I won't be Ella, but if the hurts bad, just tell me and I’ll stop”.
She was scared now with a worried look upon her face, swiftly Saul swept Ella off her feet carried
her over to the bed, gently lay her down, as he cupped the back of her neck for support.
Heart pounding, Saul looked right into her big brown eyes and said, “Your trembling girl”.
Looking right at him, she said, “I’m scared”.
“Nah, don’t be”, as he understood kissing Ella’s face softly, as she giggles he asked, “Aw this

Back at the Wiley home, standing looking through the cupboard, Brenda asked, “Hey Shane can
you do me a big favor?”
Rolling his dark eyes, “What maw store”, sitting by the table sorting cards on the table playing
solitaire.
“Yes boy will you run me up to the market?”
Stood up, puts the playing cards away and said, “Sure maw, come on”, grabbing his keys off the
hook on the wall.
At the grocery store.
Shane stood by the checkout lane looking through magazines and was really rolling his eyes
mumbling, “Heck, hurry up maw, shoot I got a date”.
Brenda was down a lane of items, being fussy.
“Shoot these beans or those”, as she pointed and kept grabbing each can.

Standing there with each can in her hand and then said, “Aw heck”, putting both cans in the
cart.
A man approached her and said, “Wiley’s”.
Turning around, Brenda replied, “Excuse me sir what was that?” He smelled of booze strong and
staggered.
“Yeah you run that bar”, as he even slurred.

Puzzled look, Brenda said, “I beg your pardon”.
Staggering more he remarked, “Definitely saw you many times”.
Standing there holding another can of beans for her chili and he asked, “You see much of the
baby?”
Dumfounded, “Who?” Eyes ready to pop out from shock.

Angrily, he knocked a few cans off the shelf and added, “Guess leave it to people that run a bar to
knock up my girl”.
Becoming nervous, Brenda gasped out, “Oh good lord, what did you say sir?”
“Your boy and my daughter have a kid”.

The person become irate pushing the whole shelf of cans down onto the floor.
At that shocking moment, Brenda was scared and he comes closer to her and now yelled,
“LADY YOUR GRANDKID!” Close in her face.
Dropping the can of beans from her trembling hands Brenda had tears.
Looked furious at her, as tears roll she said, “I am sorry sir, I never knew of a child”.
Upon Brenda and very mad, looking right at her.
Mumbling, “Gee what is it a girl or boy and from which boy?”
The person starts yelling, “HEY LADY”
“YOU HEAR ME!” Shaking the shopping cart.
Nervously Brenda bent down picking up the can and held it tightly, as he said, “You low down
people running a sleazy bar”, and Brenda had tears saying, “We are not awful people”.
The angry person was shouting in Brenda’s face, “BUY IT SOME DIAPERS!”
“WILEY!” Right upon Brenda that stepped back scared.

Standing up front by the magazine rack, Shane really rolled his eyes, as he heard their name
shouted out.
Therefore, put the magazine down fast and hurried away then rushing down the lane where he
saw his maw with some man close to her and rushing up to them.

Immediately, Shane got right in the man’s face and asked, “Dude you bothering my maw?”
The man was quiet now and Shane said, “Woo-wee, very wrong move dude”.

 

Slurring his words, “Oh what are you going to do boy beat up an old man?”

 

Shane got closer than he already was and right upon him, as the person laughed in Shane’s face.

Very wrong move for the person, Brenda watched her son crack his neck, quickly pulling at him
saying, “No Shane, please don’t!”
“Yeah boy listen to your mommy”, chuckles swaying.

Grinning Shane said, “Aw, getting smart with me are you”, shoot that’s it”, curled his fist.
Trembling Brenda said, “Come on Shane, please don’t, just let it go, there’s been some
misunderstanding here”. Shane saw the many cans on the floor and hesitated.
Shane grinned close in the man’s face and said, “Woe dude lucky, because my maw saved you
one heck of a beating”.

The person stood silently now with his head hung and Shane in his face added, “No one raises
their voice at our maw”.
“NOW SHANE BOY!”
“See dude she can only do it to us”, said Shane chuckling and walking away.
The man looked upset and walked away.
The whole ride back home, Brenda was upset and silent, driving Shane noticed and said, “Aw
maw, he was some drunken fool”.
Brenda sighed, “Oh my.”
Shane drove angrily and said, “Shoot makes people disrespect someone’s maw.”
Suddenly, punched the steering wheel hard and instantly split his knuckles open.
Brenda saw his bleeding hand and shook her head saying, “Boy please not today, because too
much is already going on”.

The remainder of the ride home both of them were silent, as the radio was on country music
plays.
Back home now.
Reaching into the van for a grocery bag, “Shane hurry and clean your hand up, I’ll get these two
bags”, said Brenda.
“You sure?” Waving her hand she said, “Just go on boy”.

Therefore, he did and she grabbed the bags in tears walking into the back door.
She literally felt sick and thought again, “A kid, but which boy?”
“Saul, maybe Sebastian, oh lord not Shane”, and she had tears roll.
Brenda thought, he is too silly yet for a child and tried putting the cans away in the cupboard,
but shaken up just dropped them all.
