Liam scooped eggs onto his plate. “Now that yer here, and we can stop listening to yer wife complain about the delays to reach you…” He winked in Sarah’s direction. “What are the two of ye planning on doing?”
Braeden took Sarah’s hand. “We will be off to Edinburgh. I will resume my teaching post, and Sarah will help me with the book I’m writing on Ancient Rome.”
“That is an excellent compromise, children,” her mother said. “And I would love to visit the wonderful city of Edinburgh.” She added, “Sometime in the future, of course.”
Braeden leaned over and kissed Sarah briefly on the lips. Softly, so no one heard him except her, he said, “Thank God yer mum is as smart as she is pretty.”
