Jade stood there as she processed
the number of choices that were made available to her by the stone.
Before long Jade felt she had come to the correct decision and
without fear or concern gave her answer. She immediately felt an
overwhelming burden float away. The brightness completely faded to
normal and Jade removed her hands from the stone, which was now
fused to the floor.
The flow of orbs paused in midair
as their colors changed to a simple whitish gray. Prime 2 spoke,
“
The Stone of
Tureis
’ program has been successfully
extracted, implemented, and identified as ‘Evolutionary Freedom.’
Per this program’s orders, the knowledge
The Stone of Tureis
retains
will be transmitted to all Tureissians shortly. Because Miss Cade
delivered the knowledge regarding Evolutionary Freedom, our planet
must repay this debt per the order of
The Stone of Tureis
. Therefore,
we formally accept and implement three specific directives of Miss
Cade’s choosing, which will positively and/or negatively affect
only Earth and its inhabitants. During the time
The Stone of Tureis
was
synchronizing, Miss Cade provided the following
directives:
Tureis’ involvement when it comes
to harvesting the consciousnesses of Earth humanoids will be
revealed to all earthlings.
The E20945VL virus infestation, AKA Weed Virus, has
been terminated.
There will be no further virus
downloads to any Earth humanoids by any Tureissians.
These download notifications will
commence in thirteen Earth days, and the method of delivery will be
through the Earth humanoid’s dream sequence. As for E20945VL, it
has been terminated. Miss Cade will be returned to her home world
once Zaccai gives authorization to release the solar
freeze.”
Zaccai interrupted, “Authorization granted.”
Prime 2 stated, “Acknowledged,
the solar freeze has been revoked. Lastly, there was a secondary
program called ‘Project Illuminate,’ which was stored in Jade’s
consciousness. As the program instructed, I have downloaded it to
all the Herders on all the harvested planets and all intergalactic
traveling for Tureissians has been suspended. Presently my
involvement in this matter has been concluded, Prime 2
out.”
As soon as Prime 2 spoke, the
humanoid shell Jade occupied, fell limp and dropped to the
ground.
Melchior angrily asked, “What have you done?”
Zaccai stood there with a calming
demeanor and replied, “You know quite well what happened, Melchior.
The time for being deliberately obtuse has ended. You, as I, must
have faith that everything will turn out to be advantageous for
all.” All the while Izri stood there beaming with
confidence.
Melchior looked at Zaccai with
hatred and said, “The council and all
Tureissians
will learn of what
you have done today. You have crippled our way of life,” as he
turned his back towards Zaccai and walked away.
Izri asked, “Do you want me to pursue?”
Zaccai, “No, let him go, we must let our people make
their own decision as did Jade.”
“
If you do not mind me asking,
what just happened?” inquired Izri.
“
The answers have not yet
disseminated to you, but they will.”
“
What answers?”
“
The truth about our
society. How we ended up where we are. You see Jade unlocked the
secrets to how we used to reproduce biologically. How we naturally
developed our consciousness, and how we can live in harmony with
our environment. This information will soon be downloaded to
all
Tureissians, as well as the truth to
why our society stopped natural reproduction. Melchior will not be
able to spread any more lies of what happened here today because
everyone will know the truth, yourself included, after you
leave
Mana-dorn
Mountain.
”
“
May I request what
‘Project Illuminate’
is?” asked Izri.
“
It is a safety net I ordered Telmar to put
into place. Both factions will be able to use it in order to
support their cause if needed. You and Melchior will learn of it
once you leave this mountain.”
“
What about you?” asked Izri with a concerned
voice.
“
I will be staying here. I must stay impartial
and protect the purpose of evolution,” explained Zaccai.
“
What purpose?”
Zaccai looked into Izri’s eyes
and said, “To create a positive life without an opposing force. To
do away with all things which are considered polar
opposites.”
“
I do not understand, how is such
a goal attainable?”
“
I do not expect you to. That is
something you need to answer for yourself. Now go.”
“
I hope to see you again.
Goodbye,” said Izri, as he left the chamber in hopes of learning
more answers. Once Izri walked out of
Mana-dorn Mountain, the entranceway behind him sealed shut
for eternity
.
Utter darkness filled his mind.
There was nothing visible except Spencer’s thoughts. He knew he had
been relocated, but was not sure to where. The feeling was much
different from when he was uploaded; at least then, he had a
virtual environment to interact with. Now all he had were his
thoughts. There was nothing to engage his senses, no sight, smell,
touch, taste, or hearing, just his consciousness. He tried to yell
out, but nothing was heard. He attempted to wake himself up, but
realized he was not asleep. Spencer even tried to feel if he was
still in his body, but discovered with dismay he did not have a
physical form.
“
Where am I?” asked Spencer
hoping for a response that had gone unanswered.
Spencer stuck with his thoughts,
reminisced about his wonderful childhood, and recalled the fond
memories he had with his parents. Spencer pondered on the time he
spent in college and the many moments when Reece saved him both
academically and physically. He rushed his thoughts to when Jade
was born and how his entire world changed for the better from there
on out. Spencer remembered memory after memory of Jade and examined
all the observations and comments she had come up with, but soon
stopped at one in particular.
For some reason Spencer became
intrigued with the time Jade spoke about Central Circuit and how
their board of directors contained a strong belief when it came to
having proper manners, honesty, and religion. Spencer stopped
processing his memories for a moment and asked himself, why, out of
all the wonderful things in his life, did he arrive at this
particular moment. Could Central Circuit have something to do with
his current situation? Spencer continued his walk down memory lane
and hoped to find something, which could explain his current
predicament. But when he found himself straying too far, his mind
was directed back to Central Circuit without his
guidance.
While he tried to process this
confusion further, he saw two specific images floating. Spencer
stayed focused on these images specifically because this was the
first time he was able to see anything since he found himself in
this unknown environment. The first symbol was the
tattoo
Serafina
had of the oval shape with the three wavy lines
and star. The second symbol was of the figure eight he remembered
drawing underneath the large branch coming off the birch tree in
Vermont. Spencer asked himself, “What do these symbols mean?” At
this point Spencer would have normally been feeling frustrated and
annoyed, but these emotions and all others were unwillingly
absent.
Spencer thought to himself,
“Serafina why was she on the tram to Central Circuit and where is
she now?” He had already come to accept that Serafina was the one
who set up the events which later led to his death, but he still
did not see the answers.
As quickly as this memory
entered, it left and made room for yet another unaddressed event.
“Why did Telmar say to remember the primes?”
Spencer’s reasoning stalled out
on these four moments, but continued to process the memories as if
he was trying to break a highly encrypted algorithm. Then a thought
popped into his consciousness, “Serafina wore the necklace and
works for Central Circuit, so Central Circuit must be tied with the
Guardians on Tureis.” Spencer paused and now focused only on the
day of his death. This seemed the most logical place to start
considering this was where his journey began, or at least when he
thought it began.
“
What was the first thing I
heard when I woke up?” asked Spencer to himself. The answer sprung
into his consciousness as if it had been planted there all
along.
“Remember your destiny has not yet
been influenced, envision before implementing, and do not be
impulsive.”
Spencer understood the reference
to his destiny, he always firmly believed one chooses their journey
and there is certainly no pre-destined path. “But who or what would
influence his destiny?” he thought. As Spencer tried to answer the
question, Serafina’s name entered his consciousness
again.
“
She has guided me through this
journey and I have allowed it because of my strong emotional
feelings for her.” Spencer realized how obvious this answer was and
continued to remind himself he had control over the situation. As
Spencer pondered this, he concluded the meaning to a few of his
mysterious questions. “Envision before implementing” and “Remember
the primes,” thought Spencer. “Prime as in prime numbers.” Spencer
remembered the conversation he had with Serafina about prime
numbers and how they form the building blocks for natural numbers
in the same way atoms form building blocks for more complex
molecules. He also remembered how she told him large prime numbers
could be difficult to decode.
Spencer continued and envisioned
his last day on Earth as himself, but this time he focused on the
prime numbers, or better yet, important times that were prime
numbers. It soon came to him in a flash, “0601 hours was the time I
woke up, the date was 11/17, the year was 2039, and the time of my
death was 1327 hours. 0601, 1117, 2039 and 1327 are all prime
numbers,” Spencer concluded. As he was putting it all together, a
jolt of energy went through his body, and he lost consciousness
completely, his last thought being, “I hope I didn’t act
impulsively.”
“
That drive seemed much longer than
necessary,” radioed Karl to Oliver.
“
Who are you kidding we made great time. Now
remember when we get to the checkpoint show them your credentials,
answer yes or no to their questions, and whatever you do, don’t
start any conversations. I’ll do all the talking,” radioed
Oliver.
“
Ok,” replied Karl.
“
You’re sure you don’t want me to stay with
Karl from this point on?” asked Melissa.
“
No, he’ll be fine. Plus, on the
off chance something does go wrong, I want to get out quick, and I
don’t need to be worrying about where you are.”
“
Thanks Dad, but I can handle myself,” replied
Melissa.
“
I know you can, I just don’t
want to take any chances. For some reason I’m getting a bad feeling
about this, something just doesn’t feel right. Plus, we still have
no idea what is in that crate Izri had us pick up,” said
Oliver.
“
Are you saying you don’t trust
Izri?”
“
I don’t know anymore. Look,
there’s the check point. Get ready.”
“
I’m on it,” called out Melissa.
Oliver became the lead vehicle as
they drove towards the checkpoint at the posted speed limit of 15
mph. Security was tight. There were the standard road barriers,
aerial units, a great deal of artillery, mounted cannons, and that
which quickly caught Oliver’s eye, an energy wall. It was difficult
for him to judge how tall the energy wall stood, but it was easily
over ten feet. It gave off a greenish bluish tint and every once in
a while, Oliver noticed small puffs of fire and quickly concluded
these puffs were either fried bugs or birds who unfortunately came
in contact with this obstruction. In both directions, this energy
wall ran as far as the eye could see, leaving Oliver unable to
imagine the energy output of such a feat. Oliver observed there was
no traffic going in and minimal traffic leaving. Soon enough the
seven military personnel with firearms and the ten-foot energy gate
forced Oliver to stop as he lowered his window and nodded to one of
the soldiers.
The soldier who ran the gate was
clearly military due to his physical presence and the way he
carried himself, but from what country Oliver was unable to tell.
The soldier’s uniform was simple, a pair of black battle dress
pants, with a black short sleeve shirt, black sunglasses, and black
boots. Nothing on the uniform exhibited any type of insignia.
Oliver examined the area for any flags flying nearby, but was
unsuccessful in finding any.
“
Afternoon, stand by for scan,”
stated the soldier who followed up with, “I only detect one PIC in
this vehicle, and it is coming from the female. Do you have your
papers?”
