Charles got himself together long enough to open the passenger side for her and close it when she was in safe. He tried to shake the feeling, whatever it was that was keeping his heart beating so loud that he could barely hear his own thoughts over it. She was definitely not what he had expected and being around her was going to drive him crazy. The thought that she was his came to mind and he smiled at the idea.

When he got in next to her, he was finally able to make eye contact with the buxom beauty. “Good evening, Dahlia. I apologize for the moment before, your beauty left me breathless.”

She started to roll her eyes as she looked away. Charles touched her cheek, making her look back at him. “I’m serious, you're a beautiful, wife. A face like that makes a man want to give up everything just for a kiss.”

His words shocked her and for a moment, she actually believed them. “Ah I see you have sweet words. Let’s see how long that lasts.”

“Why do I have a feeling you're going to be the hardest sell of all?”

Dahlia stopped before she got into the sports car. “You don’t have to sell me anything, Charles, I'm already yours.”

“I really like the sound of that.”

Charles got his legs in and shut the door, trying to ignore the desire to check out her long, caramel tinted legs. It was in that moment that he was thankful for a low-riding car. Her skirt had ridden up her thick thighs and he was finding it difficult to take his eyes away. “Are you going to stare or drive?”

“Can I do both?”

“I suppose, though it doesn’t sound very safe.”

He chuckled to himself, though he was even more intimidated by her. What in the world was he supposed to do with Dahlia?

“So where are we going, Charles?”

“I thought I would take you to my favorite place. I know it's been a long day for you, so how about a walk.”

“A walk?”

“Yeah, down by the bay. You get the wind whipping in off the lake. It is as close to perfection as you're going to get here in Chicago.”

She nodded, though he couldn’t tell if she was bored or not. He shrugged to himself and drove down to the coastline. It was his favorite place and he wanted to share it with her all of a sudden. It was strange to him to think that he had never taken a girl there before. It seemed fitting that he would take his future wife. Every time he said it, it rolled off his tongue like it was supposed to, but the implications seemed so much more real after meeting her.

“Sounds good, Charles. Although you did promise food and drinks.”

“True, I did. Patience my dear.”

Dinner and drinks turned out to be warm bottled water and a shared energy bar. The view made all the rest just background noise and as the sun went down and they sat together on a rock, it almost could have been scripted. She leaned against his shoulder just so and he smelled her sweet perfume in his nostrils. He wanted to stay there forever, but the streaks of the sun were leaving and then they were left in the dark.

“That was beautiful and the granola bar was good, but seriously I'm not one of those girls that are afraid to eat in front of a guy. I'm starving, Charles.”

He laughed. “Good enough. Let’s go see what we can find, shall we?”

***

They found a small Italian restaurant that Charles had always wanted to go into, but never had the time. It was strange to be holding her hand and wasting the night away with her. She was not at all what he expected and he started to wonder what she thought of him. Before he had seen it all as just one big burden, but then it started to be something more. Charles was starting to care what she thought. He cared if his words offended her. For someone as old as he was, it was a little late, but he finally thought he understood love at first sight. Charles wasn’t sure if it was love, but he had felt something quite strong since he had seen her for the first time.

She ate off his plate and offered some of her shrimp to him. He had never been fed before and their eyes met as his lips touched the fork. She smiled shyly and his heart raced. Dahlia got a little on his chin and she wiped it off with her napkin. She had leaned in to do it and she was left inches from his face. If he had only moved just a touch, he could have kissed her. He didn’t though and she sat back disappointed. Her brown eyes held a question that he didn’t quite know.

“So tell me something about yourself that I haven’t read.”

“I can go all night long.”

“Oh.”

Dahlia had not been expecting that answer and his words sent a shiver through her body. She felt wetness flood her panties and she groaned inwardly. It sounded about right to her and just what she needed, though she couldn’t let him know he could get the upper hand so easily.

“I see. Do you time yourself?”

“You can if you want.”

Dahlia took another drink of her wine glass. “It’s good to see making love won’t be a problem,” she said smugly.

Charles leaned over and grinned at her. “I can’t wait for it. I can’t wait to see you with your hair down and dirty words coming out of your mouth.”

He leaned back, loving the look of shock and desire on her face. Charles was turning himself on, his mind in frenzy over the woman sitting so calm across from him. She seemed unaffected, with only a slight twinkle in her eyes to give herself away.

“We'll see if you can bring it, though it will take more than just a few words from you to make me wet.”

“Liar.”

Her mouth snapped shut and she looked down at her shrimp Alfredo that was quickly losing its taste. “That's not very nice, Charles. Especially to say to someone you just met.”

“I can tell you're lying. Unless you want me to prove it, just admit it.”

She sighed and squeezed her thighs together under the table. “You’re going to be impossible, aren’t you. We’re in public and they've written enough about both of us.”

He shrugged, “Admit it or I'll prove I'm right and you're lying. You know what they say about starting a marriage with lies.”

Dahlia didn’t know what to say. She had not expected to feel that way, especially not that soon. She hadn’t expected any of what was happening to her. Charles was supposed to be a stiff like the rest, but there was fire in his eyes as he looked at her and she had to wonder if he would actually do what he said. “We aren’t married yet, Charles.”

“Admit it, my dear, or else.”

She liked a challenge and the one in his eyes was undeniable. “Oh really? I don’t like ultimatums.”

Charles stood up and for a moment she thought he was going to pull her up with him, but instead he dragged his chair quite loudly over to her. She grimaced, hiding her face as other people looked their way. “Stop it, Charles. You’re embarrassing me.”

He sat down next to her, his blue eyes dancing with the full lips that smiled. “Admit it and I will go back to my side of the table.”

Charles had this look on his face that Dahlia didn’t trust and she knew then that he would do what he said. She wanted him to and that realization was harder to come to grips with than anything else. It was one thing to get wet, but another when it was her future husband doing it. She was not prepared to like him.

Dahlia was pulled from her thought when she felt his hand go to her thigh under the table. “Time’s up, dear.”

Her hand tried to stop his, shooting down to grip him as he moved closer to her covered core. She wished that she could hide her wetness, but she knew he could already feel the moisture as he got closer. Instead of fighting anymore, she moved her arm and opened her thighs wider. If she hadn’t been wet at the beginning of it, she would have been soaked from all the talk. Charles had her mind revved up and ready to go, her body was unable to do anything else but follow.

She gasped as he moved to her wet heat and she heard him gasp as he touched the thin panty material. “Oh damn.”

Dahlia’s pussy wept for his touch and words. The way his eyes dilated and his fingers pushed past the material to get to her flesh. She whimpered as he moved closer, his lips going to his ears. “So wet for me, Dahlia. You are so wet, my darling.”

His finger surged forward and her eyes closed, while her hands gripped the soft tablecloth that covered up his deed. She saw a few people looking their way and she bit her lip to try and ward off the sounds trying to escape. He added another finger and her eyes closed. “Please.”

“What, baby. Anything you want.” His fingers moved in and out in a slow, numbing motion. Her thighs squeezed shut, desperately trying to disrupt his touch. She blushed under her caramel skin, her eyes desperate.

“Please stop.”

His fingers did and she was instantly saddened by it. He moved back and dragged his wet fingers down her thigh. He took a bite of his steak and watched her with those deep pools of blue darkness. He licked his fingers for a second and a shiver ran through her body. Damn, she seemed to be a little over her head. The very idea of them being together intimately was looking far better and less like a chore. Maybe her father was right in thinking that they would be perfect for each other.

Dahlia took a drink of her wine and tried to stop her hand from trembling. “Are you always such a bully?”

He nodded. “Do you always lie?”

“When it suits me.”

“Do I suit you?”

“We shall see.”

Her calm words and expressionless face didn’t fool him. He knew exactly what was going on in her underwear and it was clear that he had gotten to her. Dahlia thought that he would suit her just fine. There was no better outcome than the one sitting next to her, his thigh pressing against the side of hers.

Chapter 4

They finished dinner and though Dahlia had work early in the morning, she didn’t want the night to end. By the lust in his eyes, he didn’t want it to end either. They stood outside of the restaurant and she was twiddling her purse strings in her hands. “Well it was really nice to meet you. I feel a whole lot better about all of this now.”

She nodded and couldn’t agree more. “So when shall we have it?”

“Have what?” His eyes moved from the soft red lips that he had been transfixed by to her dark brown depths.

“The wedding. You know, sign the paperwork and say ‘I do’.”

“It'll be more than that, but soon. I don’t want to wait any longer. Tomorrow night?”

She giggled a little, something she hadn’t done in a long time. “I need a few weeks to prepare, so how about the end of the month?”

He nodded, his hands on her curved hips pulled her closer. “Whatever you want, whenever you want it.”

Charles moved to capture her lips and before she knew it, Dahlia was melting against him. His hand pulled her head back, his lips crushing hers. She whimpered as his tongue pushed in between her lips. Charles groaned and pushed her back into the cool metal of the car. His taste took over her senses and she was left a puddle that had to be held up by his strong grip.

“Come home with me, Dahlia. Please.”

His words reminded her that they couldn’t just yet. It all had to be perfect and though what he did to her felt that way, she knew that it would be several weeks before they could consummate properly. She pushed back against his chest, her breath coming out in ragged gasps. “Wait. We can’t just yet. Until we are married.”

“Why? I will marry you anytime you want, but don’t make me wait.”

He was moving back towards her and she put her hands up to ward him away. Dahlia moved to the other side of the car and waited for him to unlock it. She felt like her face was on fire, embarrassment taking over her senses. Her lips were hot and felt bruised with his rough kiss. All she could think about was his comment from before. He could go all night. The possibility of it being true was growing and she couldn’t wait to have him all to herself.

Charles finally unlocked the door, though he did not seem to be very happy about it. She giggled again, the sound become normal when she was with him. He made her feel like a love-struck teen that was dancing the last dance before prom ended. His eyes stared at her and then he started the engine. “Don’t tell me you're pouting, dear?”

His jaw tightened and she leaned against his shoulder as he started to drive away. They drove in silence for a time and Dahlia tried to think of something to say. She didn’t like him mad and she tried to appease his anger with light touches on his neck and shoulders. “You're built quite well. I really thought this was going to be drudgery, so there must be a catch. Do you have sick fantasies that I should know about, an affinity for pain?”
