Clementine
threw her arms around him, suddenly feeling a little feverish. They kissed for
a long time, then parted breathlessly in the darkness.

‘Holy
… holy chocolate!’ she exclaimed, half laughing and half crying, gazing into
his eyes and trusting this man completely. ‘This is the most incredible adventure,
isn’t it? Falling in love, and whatever comes after. Marriage does sound a bit
scary right now, Dominic, I won’t lie. But so did losing my job and having to
find a new job, and that worked out okay. And you don’t mind me being clumsy
and odd, or having a squeaky whale in my bedroom, which is a really good sign
that we may be compatible long-term. So let’s just start off slow and see what
happens.’

He
nodded, smiling. ‘Slow, then.’

‘Slow
and deliciously chocolatey. Promise me.’

‘Now
that,’ Dominic murmured, his French accent more gorgeously pronounced than
ever, ‘I can do.’

Thank you for reading.

You’ll be relieved to know it all ended happily at the
oddest little chocolate shop in London. Dominic and Clementine took the plunge
and got married the next year; no kids yet, but they bought a white Persian cat
of their own who has just had a litter of five gorgeous fluffy kittens, all
named after Dominic’s favourite chocolates.

Ravel’s Chocolaterie de Londres is going strong, and
they are now planning to open a second store with Rachel – who is single
again, but still optimistically searching for Mr Right - at the helm. And Dom
recently made up with his grumpy old dad, who has agreed to hand over some of
his top-secret chocolate recipes. So all’s well that ends well …

Now go and devour some delicious chocolate!
