Mac was the last to leave. Old timer he said, when we first met in Nam I knew you were a man of trust. Always our rule was we leave no man behind. I almost feel I’m breaking that rule today. Goldie gave him a hug and said, nonsense Mac, before you know it I’ll be calling all of you to get together for a reunion. Now be on your way and enjoy your young ones. Finally Mac got in his vehicle waved and soon was out of sight.

Tim asked what are your plans for the next few days. Goldie told him tonight I just want to rest and clear my mind of the chores that were thrust upon us. Tomorrow I’ll go take a look at the house and see what needs to be done and start work on getting it back like it was. Joshua said Sis was wanting to come and move back in, we told her there was a lot that needed done first. Goldie said my boys, you served your country as soldiers now you have served again as patriots. Those envelopes will pay off your mortgages and help you plan for the future. Take this envelope with you, it’s for Jeffrey’s wife and children. This will take care of her mortgage and care for her and the little ones. Now you guys hit the road I’ll be ok. He stood and waved until they were out of sight.

Militia Restores Election Processes

In the months following the surrender by the joint chiefs and the announcements of contemplated changes the board of governors acted quickly to set in motion their recommendations. State legislatures reconvened, and governors were appointed in all fifty states. Congressional appointments were made and the full congressional and senatorial bodies began the task of selecting qualified persons to fill federal judicial and prosecutorial positions. The board of governors selected and filled positions for the joint chiefs and a chairman was appointed. The board made appointments to fill all cabinet positions. State legislators completed the task of making appointments to fill all state judicial and prosecutorial positions. At the local level county and municipal bodies reconvened and selected and filled all judicial and prosecutorial positions.

Federal, state, and local enforcement officers working with coast guard officials began the work of exporting all those illegally residing in the country. Working with compassion and determination at all levels more than twenty five million illegal aliens voluntarily registered as such and were assisted back to their homelands without prejudice. Many thousands more were apprehended and forcibly deported. Coast guard units working with military personnel effectively closed the southern and northern borders and procedures were adopted to insure immigration laws were enforced.

After considerable debate by the congress and decisions from the supreme court justices the following decisions were made. When the former president declared martial law she dispensed with all civil judicial policies and procedures. Then when power was assumed by the military chiefs we remained under military rule. The congress and supreme court justices determined when crimes are committed under military rule they must be tried by military courts. Therefore trial dates were established for the former president and secretaries of state and defense, and the director of homeland security which were conducted by military general courts martial procedures. All defendants refused to accept military or public defenders and were furnished legal representatives of their choice. At the conclusion of their trials, lasting three months, they were found guilty of traitorous actions by jurors and sentenced to death for their crimes of treason. In addition each was fined an amount equal to the value of all assets they owned which were then seized by the court.

The presidents husband, himself a former president, gave up his American citizenship and remains in exile in Europe. He was tried in absentia by general courts martial, convicted of sedition, sentenced to serve life imprisonment without parole should he be returned to the country he betrayed. He was also fined an amount equal to the value of all financial assets and real properties held by the ex president which were then ordered seized by the court.

The board of governors recommended and the newly appointed congress concurred then voted to absolve the protectorate state status of the providences of Guam and Porto Rico and return self government to those states. In the future those states would be treated as all other foreign states with respect to immigration, trade, and tax purposes.

All national press and media services were broken up to dissolve monopolies then returned to private control as separate companies. With one exception, federal communications laws approved by the congress prohibit non citizens from owning or controlling press, radio, and media licenses. Revenue from the transfer of dissolved corporations were returned to the original corporate owners as compensation for their losses. The speaker of the house joined the board of governors in a public announcement that the purpose of these moves was to insure no individual or corporate structure could ever again threaten our free republic by monopolizing the media to select and elect candidates for public office.

The board recommended that a national draft be instituted. History, including our own recent history, teaches that a wholly voluntary military force poses a serious threat to the future of a free people. Voluntary forces too often become loyal to their paymasters not their country. The congress unanimously agreed and announced that policies and procedures for reinstitution of a national draft were being instituted.

The speaker of the house remarked that progress was being made in all areas. Federal judicial appointments were now complete and the national intelligence services and federal law enforcement agency reorganization had been completed. Our immigration policies are now being enforced and our borders are secure thanks to the efforts of our coast guard and others. Our country is strong and the economy is improving steadily. We still have work to do and will be meeting to inform the public on other matters in the near future.

With the help of friends the home where Goldie and his family had lived was rebuilt from ground up by local contractors and village residents. James and Joshua and their sister and Jeffrey’s widow and all their children were there when Goldie and his daughter opened the doors to their home. The friends and neighbors had done a marvelous job, the house was completely new, including a lot of new furniture. He looked around turned and walked out to where his friends were watching. How can my daughter and I ever thank you for what you have done for us. You already have brother, an old friend said. The village citizens had brought food and all had a great time sharing the food and memories of old times.

It had been several weeks since He had talked with Richard and the other members of the board. He and Deborah, his daughter, were well settled into their home and the boys brought the kids and came to visit often. Life was getting back to normal almost then one day the call came from Richard. The board has spent many hours considering your recommendations, discussions have been held with congress, and now we thought you should come meet with us and help finalize our report and recommendations to congress and the people. Goldie asked when do you want me there and Richard said we’ll have a car pick you up tomorrow morning and bring you to the base where a flight will be ready to bring you to Washington. Goldie asked how long should I plan on being there and Richard advised possibly several weeks but all your needs will be provided while you are here. Goldie said I’ll be waiting for the car it will be great to see you all again. Everything seems to be going well and right on track so I’ll see you sometime tomorrow. Richard said good we will look forward to working with you again. That night Goldie packed his bags and called his boys to make sure they checked in with Deborah while he was gone.

The next morning the driver showed up early and before long Goldie was boarding a plane at the air base and headed for Washington. There he was met by Wilson and Richard and taken to his room at an Inn near the capitol building. They talked for a time and Richard handed him some memorandums to review prior to the meeting set up for the following morning. These recommendations are very much in agreement with the recommendations you furnished the board. They have been discussed with the leaders of congress and we are prepared to make most of the changes you outlined. Study them tonight then we will discuss them tomorrow.

Several weeks later after many discussions with board members and members of congress and state legislators agreement was reached on the policies and actions outlined by the board. Congressional members from all fifty states ratified many of the recommendations and agreed other proposals outlined would pass congress and senate and would be quickly ratified and become constitutional law while this congress was in session. The house speaker agreed with the board that Goldie had earned the confidence and trust of the people and should be the spokesperson making the public announcement of constitutional changes. It was decided that the announcement would be aired during prime time the day before thanksgiving. The media was advised of the coming conference and notification of the conference was aired throughout the country so citizens could watch and participate.

The next morning he called his daughter to see how all were doing and she said word is out about a conference and public announcements tonight. She asked are you involved in that dad? He admitted he would be there and possibly speaking. She told him we will be watching, all the town is waiting, Tim was here last night after the announcement on TV and said he and the boys would all be here tonight to watch together.

We love you Dad and I know mother will be watching and will be proud of you. You hurry home as soon as you can. I will Deborah He told her, you tell the others we have done our best to secure their liberty and an honest government. Bye now, I’ll see you all later. Later Richard and Randolph stopped by the Inn to visit and said a car would be picking him up at seven and bringing him to the congressional building for the conference. They talked for a while about the changes already ratified by congress and others still to be resolved. Before leaving Richard handed him a newly pressed militia uniform. The board wants you to wear these tonight, this is how the people know you, this is how we want you to be remembered. We’ll see you about seven at the capitol building.

He lounged around most of the afternoon then ordered a light dinner before finally changing into his uniform. Even though fall had begun the sun was shining and temperatures were in the low seventies. He turned the television on and heard the station talking about the scheduled press conference. The full congress and senate will be in attendance as well as the militia formed board of governors. At exactly seven his car arrived and he was driven to the capitol building where he was met by Wilson and ushered inside. Once there he was met by all the members of the board and they spent some time together about the evenings formalities. Finally an usher came in to advise the congress was assembled it’s time.

As they entered the Sergeant at Arms stepped forward to escort them to their seats near the speakers platform. Then the speaker of the house and Richard strode to the podium. First the speaker announced the purpose of the conference and the halls rose to applaud. Richard spoke of the sacrifices made by all to make this conference possible. Tonight I bring you one who stands alone for his heroism and actions. Honored members of this congress, ladies and gentlemen at home, It is my pleasure, as chairman of the board of governors, to introduce one whose courage and dedication go beyond the call of duty, the man they call Goldie. Would the patriot from Ohio please step forward. Goldie stood and stepped forward towards the podium. The congress and the board all rose to welcome him with warm applause.

First the speaker then Richard shook his hand and the applause continued for several moments before finally all were seated. He looked around for a moment then began to speak. Mr. speaker, Members of the board, members of the congress, then his voice rose as he said and to all you listening at home: it was seventy degrees here in Washington this afternoon. What a great day to be free. What a great day to be able to stand here and tell you we have a congress working for the people. Let me begin now to tell you how this congress and this board have performed.

As you are already aware, those who tried with traitorous actions to take your liberties from you have had their day in court. A just court undeserved by their conduct, found the president and her appointees guilty of traitorous actions. They will remain incarcerated in federal detention cells pending the appeals processes. That is the American way, the just way, the way it must always be in a land where freedom rings. Now that is the past which we must put behind us, but never forget. Now let me tell you about the great strides our congress is making.

By order of the congress each state legislature appointed one of their own as a representative to a constitutional review committee and forthwith convened a national constitutional convention. The purpose of that committee was to review all laws and taxes as they pertain to citizens rights and protections and determine their constitutional legality.

Our constitution grants the authority to enact law to legislative bodies only. The purpose of the court is to rule on the constitutionality of proposed laws and to insure the application and enforcement of law does not violate our constitution provisions. The conventional committee agreed the court does not have authority to establish law or enforce policies established by the court itself. The committee also agreed Federal, State, or municipal agencies, or bureaus do not have constitutional authority to adopt directives or regulations having the force of law. A constitutional amendment that prohibits such actions has been recommended and ratified by the congress and all fifty state legislatures.

This committee has recommended that America withdraw our membership in the North American Free Trade Agreement, and the world trade agreement. By unanimous vote this congress ratified both proposals. That is now federal law and member states have been so advised. Additionally this board has proposed that America impose the same restrictions against imports that other nations impose on American imports, and that America impose the same restrictions against foreign investments imposed against our corporations. The congress ratified both proposals by unanimous vote, and they are now federal law.

To protect our citizens from goods produced by corporations whose greed exceeds their national loyalty It was proposed and is now federal law, that a federal prohibition be imposed on all imports of goods manufactured in foreign states at wages below our national wage standards, whether the manufacture of such goods were by foreign or American owned corporations.
