Ah,
we had an argument. The woman’s driving me bat assed crazy.”

How?”

We’ve
been dating for several months now. She gets all hot and heavy, then
she puts me out.”

That’s
why you guys argue? Well damn..Maybe she’s not ready. Give her
some time Harrison!”

Harrison
snickered. “Something’s up with that chick, but I just
don’t know what. And you’re so damned hell bent on
committing suicide with a can of Bug-Be-Gone and taking me out along
with you.” He shook his head. “You women will be the
death of me. Don’t change the subject. Seriously, with global
warming and all, I wouldn’t be surprised if tarantulas would
adapt to surviving in Maryland.”

She
punched him on the arm. “Shut up Harrison! That’s not
funny. You know how I hate hairy spiders!”

Just
sayin…It’s a theory, that’s all.” Harrison
grabbed a banana off the bowl in the middle of the dining room table.
“You’ll need to adapt.” He laughed while peeling
the banana. “You even think tarantulas are shipped in the fruit
we get!”

You
know, on the news there was a lady who found a tarantula in a bunch
of bananas.”

It
was dead!” Harrison scowled. “Seriously, please do
something about this phobia of yours. Hell, spiders are so damned
small and here you’re breaking your neck to get away from them.

Well,
do something,” she chirped. “I would love to be able to
open the windows on a hot summer night. The exterminator didn’t
seem to help things any. They seemed to multiply a few days later.”

I’d
love to open the windows up too on cool breezy nights.”
Harrison bit into the banana, and picked up the remote. “I
don’t get that luxury around you. Look, they’re going to
get in no matter what. Bugs are a part of the habitat, so therefore
we must coexist with them.”

Like
hell I do!” Abigail sat Indian style on the sofa and looked
around the living room.

See.”
He pointed at her and laughed. “Now you’re all paranoid
and shit. Just thinking they’re going to gang up on you and
hold you hostage or something. Good Lord girl, please get a grip.
It’s damned near impossible to live with you.”

She
jabbed him in the ribs. “How do you propose I get over this
fear?”

Read
up on them, print out large colorful pictures of them and you
know….study them. Spiders fascinate some people like myself,
you know. They are beautiful in their own right.”

Uh
huh.” Abigail couldn’t even bring herself to look at a
picture of a spider up close. It gave her the heebie-jeebies. “No.
They’re just nasty and disgusting and I hate them. I hate them
all.”

Tell
me how you really feel. You’re so dang dramatic.”
Harrison laughed. “Death to all spiders! Boo! Down with
spiders….down with spiders!” He chanted repeatedly.

Go
on, make fun all you like. Go away Harrison!” He was really
pissing her off now, making light of her fears.

Very
well, I’ll be up in my room, spider goddess!” He laughed.
“If you need me, just holler! Oh yeah. You’d better be
careful. They may retaliate against you for killing them.

Abigail
scowled. “Go to hell Harrison!”

I’ll
be sure to save you a seat, my dear!” He chuckled and exited
the living room.

Dickhead.”
She mumbled because he’d just planted a vision of tiny spiders
attacking her while she slept. Okay, the next spider she saw, she’d
try to squash it with her shoe instead of using the spray.

She
sat back on the sofa and tried to relax. Even though she found a good
movie to watch, her eyes constantly darted around, just to ensure
another spider wasn’t planning a sneak attack.

Chapter Three

Gwar
crawled along the ceiling, peering at the sleeping human through his
eight eyes. He’d been watching her closely but she was trying
his patience. Some of his warriors had barely managed to escape her,
while others met their untimely death due to her valued spray or the
bottom of a designer shoe.

Hell,
tonight, he barely escaped with his life and wondered if entering the
human world in spider form was a wise decision. His head still reeled
from the damned spray. He swore softly and promised himself he’d
make her pay in more ways than one.

He’d
wanted to give her a chance to redeem herself for killing his
warriors, but that chance at redemption had all but been shot to
hell. He frowned as he wrestled with his anger. If she didn’t
cease her massacre of spiders, Arachnianne would have a nice
beautiful ebony statue standing in her garden.

He
gritted his teeth in anger as he dropped down on a single thread, to
view her closely and grinned. Gwar enjoyed watching his sleeping
princess. At times out of courtesy, he did try to give her privacy
whenever she bathed or masturbated, but it was difficult to do that.
He’d fallen hard for the beautiful human and there wasn’t
anything he could do about it.

The
red robe complimented her smooth, mahogany skin perfectly. Her
tightly coiled hair was mussed up from her tossing and turning on the
couch. The robe showed off the outline of her curvaceous shape and it
drove him crazy. He longed to see more of her shapely body again. He
loved her thick thighs and large tits, and would often fantasize
about having his way with her during his spare time.

Arousal
flitted through him when she turned on her side and a chocolate
nipple peeked out at him from her robe. She was scrumptious. He
wasn’t complaining about the view either. He watched as she
became restless in her sleep. As she squirmed, a full breast plopped
out, making him even hornier.

Most
likely she was having another wet dream because he could smell her
arousal. It pleased him to know she had no sex life. Good. She’d
be a raging maniac when he bedded her. His heart was heavy, though.
Even though she’d never admit it, Abigail was a lonely soul. He
knew this all too well and his heart went out to her on numerous
occasions when she broke down and cried in the night.

Because
of her failed attempts at relationships, he knew she buried herself
in her graphic design business, refusing to let any man near. He’d
heard her speaking to a very close friend, discussing with them how
she felt and hoped that one day she’d meet Mr. Right. Maybe he
could be her Mr. Right. They seemed like the perfect pair, each
searching and longing for something more than what they had.

It
also caused rage to brew inside him when she once admitted over the
phone to a friend at how one particular man had treated her during
sex. She went through great lengths to please the asshole, but she
never received pleasure in return. Abigail would never have to worry
about that with him.

The
woman scared of spiders captured his heart. However, the ebony beauty
irritated him, when she donned the bug spray. He coughed at the
lingering remnants of the stuff. Thankfully she utilized the spray
that dissolved on contact.

Little
did she know that he and his warriors had saved her ass from a
possible stinkbug invasion. The nasty bastards were running rampant
in Maryland and some had even cozied up in the far corners of the
closets during winter months. If it weren’t for him and his
warriors, she and the human male would have had one hell of a
stinkbug problem this spring.

Just
one little bite, Gwar thought to himself as he dropped down beside
the Nubian beauty and touched the soft skin. In his human form, he’d
be larger than she. He wanted to taste and savor her flesh, in more
ways than one. He’d touched her many nights while she slept.
Perhaps if he injected her with his venom, she may grow to like
spiders? She may come to like him. Disappointment settled in on him.
She’d never accept him for what he was. She despised his kind.
Soon anger replaced his disappointment. He’d make her see
things his way. He was determined now more than ever.

Just
as he was about to sink his fangs into her breast, Abigail sat up.
Quickly, he ran to the edge of the sofa and spun down on a single
thread, landing on the plush dark carpet.

He
scuttled just beneath the sofa as both her feet landed on the carpet.
Whew. That was a close call, he thought as he heard a familiar yawn.
She’d drag herself into her room now that it was late, and that
brought a smile to his face.

Slayer,
his first in command and best friend crawled up beside him while he
watched Abigail turn off the television and the lights. “You’ve
got it bad for her, bro.” he teased. “Look what she does
to you. Let it go, she’s a human.”

Gwar
frowned. Slayer didn’t need to know that Arachnianne had
approached him about Abigail. “No, I won’t let it go.
She’s mine. This is our territory. She’s my territory,”
He said with a snarl.

This
will only blow up in your face, old friend. What are your plans? I’d
hate to see you get hurt.”

Don’t
you worry about me Slayer, I know what I’m doing.”

What
are you going to do? Hide the fact that you’re a spider and
only show her your human self? Don’t think that one will work.
I do think you should rework your plan and just keep her around for
fun.”

She’s
more than that to me Slayer!”

But…what
will you be to her? Do you think she’ll accept you for what you
are?”

I’ll
help her overcome those fears of spiders.”

If
you don’t?”

I’ll
not take no for an answer.”

What
will you do? Turn her into one of us?”

If
necessary.” Gwar smiled. “Perhaps I should right now.”

She’ll
hate and resent you for the rest of her existence if you do that.”

Thanks
Slayer. For your words of encouragement.” Gwar shook his head.
“And I do mean to be facetious.” He could always count on
his old friend to keep him grounded. First things first. Bed Abigail,
and what came after, well—“

If
she could rid the world of spiders, all of our asses would be in
danger. You should just bite her and get it over with. Or, in your
case, fuck her and get it out of your system.” Slayer said with
a smile. “I’ve had many pleasant nights with numerous
human women.”

That’s
because you’re a pig.” Gwar bit out.

Oh,
don’t chastise me. You’ve had your share of human women.”

That
was the past, this is now.” He turned to look at his friend.
“Don’t forget to whom you are speaking with.”

We’re
old friends, and don’t pull that line of bullshit on me. We’ve
had each other’s backs for years.” Slayer reminded him.
“What are you going to do if she starts screaming her head off?
You know how she screams.”

Gwar
grinned. “I’ll have her screaming in other ways.”

Slayer
rolled his eight eyes. “What if she doesn’t want to sleep
with you? Have you ever thought of that?”

I’ll
give her time.”

Human
women are complicated, you know. They require certain terms.”
Slayer insisted.

Gwar
sighed. “I don’t have time for terms.”

Oh,
I have a feeling she’ll keep you on your toes. She’s no
pushover, you know. What if she resists you?”

She
won’t resist me. IF she does, I’ll cocoon her.”

She’s
not an insect! What will you do once you’ve cocooned her?”

Now
Slayer was starting to piss him the hell off. “I’ll take
her to our realm!”

But
what if---”

He’d
had it with Slayer’s what if games. “Just go guard
something,” Gwar bellowed. “You’re giving me a
migraine!”

I
can’t wait to see how this is going to turn out.” Slayer
said with a sigh before turning away. “You know where to find
me.”

I’ll
be in my usual spot over her bed, in my web.” Gwar muttered as
he journeyed to Abigail’s bedroom. On the way to the woman’s
room, he came across another one of his warriors.

I
think you should know, sir, the human Harrison will rendezvous first
thing tomorrow morning with his female friend. I just heard him
talking in his room. This will give you plenty of opportunity to be
alone with the Abigail.”
