“Thanks for inviting me, Mike. I’m supposed to meet a couple whose daughter just came out, and they really don’t know how to react. I told them I’d take them to dinner in the Twisp Pub, and we could talk.”

Mike did look relieved. “Okay.”

I decided to walk Mr. Guidry out. As we reached the mud room, he turned around and hugged me. I wasn’t quite sure how to react. I gave him a bit of a hug back.

“Thank you, Jeff. You’re so good for Mike. His asking me to stay was one of the most wonderful things that’s happened to me. I would love to stay, but I want to give him some time.”

“I think that is a good decision. How’d it go with Jason?”

“He’s a good kid. He’s had it really tough for the last couple of years. He wanted to continue talking with me, so if you don’t mind, I will.”

“No problem at all. I’ll let Mike know too.”

“Thanks again. I really appreciate it. If Mike has a problem with me coming here again, let me know, and I can meet Jason in town or in the bunkhouse.”

“I’ll do that. Mike’s a pretty amazing man. He genuinely wants to work through his feelings about you. Callin’ you about Jason, and askin’ you to stay for dinner is not stuff he’s doin’ lightly.”

“I know that, Jeff. Even if I were to never see him again, I wouldn’t worry, knowing he’s got you.”

“Well, I’m the lucky one. Thanks for talkin’ with Jason, Mr. Guidry.”

“You’re welcome, Jeff. If you want to call me Al, you can, and if you don’t, I understand. Good night.”

“Good night, Al.” He beamed at me.

I headed back into the house just as Sandy was announcing dinner. Stew, potatoes, and salad have to be one of my very favorite meals. I’d made some homemade ranch dressing for the salad, and I could hear Sandy plugging that to the dudes.

We all sat down at the table. Mike, Sandy, and I had decided to make meals family style, so there was a big bowl of stew and a big bowl of salad with several bottles of dressing as well as the bowl of homemade ranch dressing. There was also a steaming mound of potatoes drenched in butter.

“This looks great!” AJ spoke up.

“It smells really good too. Is the beef from the ranch here?” I was a bit surprised when David spoke. So far, other than asking for a martine, he’d just nodded.

“It is. A lot of the produce we serve on the side is local too. Not the lettuce and that stuff now, but veggies, potatoes, fruit, and so on. Dessert is cherry pie with local cherries.”

“We’re going to have to ski twenty miles a day to work off all this great food.” David again nodded as Bryan spoke.

“Jeffy and I ski four or five days a week. We also have a gym, and we work out five to six days a week. A lot of the work we do on the ranch is physical, so we tend to have quite a bit of food available. We want ya to have a real ranch experience.” Mike was looking around at everyone.

“That doesn’t mean mountain oysters, does it?” I couldn’t tell if AJ was joking or not, then he smiled. Everyone laughed.

“Not this time of year. We cut the calves in the spring or summer, and that’s when we have calf fries, as we call ’em. They’re really good. Most waddies really look forward to cuttin’ season for the calf fries.” The three dudes were looking at me like I’d suddenly grown antlers.

Sandy jumped in. “Ranch folks think calf fries are quite the delicacy.” Smitty nodded.

“What’s a waddie?” David was getting downright talkative.

“Waddie is just another name for a cowboy. We got lots of names, cowboy, waddie, cowpoke, puncher, buckaroo, and brushpopper are just a few.”

“Did you really grow up here, Jeff?” AJ was looking at me quizzically. He had a way of talking that seemed to put folks at ease. I noticed everyone, including David, smiling at him.

“I sure did. I was raised right here on the ranch. The ranch and me are both named after the bluff just off in the distance. It’s called Lucky Jeff Bluff.”

“So are you lucky?” AJ asked that, and there could be loads of meaning to that simple phrase. He smiled again. It struck me that AJ was a very self-confident guy who liked to be the center of attention.

“I reckon I am. Mike’s my partner, Sandy and Smitty and Jason are my friends, I’m a cowboy, and I live here in the valley.”

“I can see that, when you speak about Mike or look at him.” AJ smiled at both of us.

“It’s funny, when I watch any of you talking about the area here, you all get kind of misty eyed and wax poetic.” Bryan looked at each of us. He said it in a gentle way that seemed very genuine. He had a soft, soothing voice. I could picture him reading for audio books.

“Even though both Sandy and I were born and raised here, we still mention to each other just how beautiful it is here, fairly often.” Sandy nodded.

“So, Bryan, David, are you plannin’ to go skiin’ tomorrow?”

“We are. We have trail passes, and all our gear.”

“Okay, do you need us to pack you lunches?”

“That would be great. It’s our first time out this year, so we’re not sure we’d make it to Winslett and back without getting exhausted.”

“What about you, AJ? Are you plannin’ on skiin’?”

“I don’t know how, and I don’t have skis. Can I rent some? I might have to ask for lessons, if it’s not too much trouble.”

“Just let me or Mike know when. There’s no need to rent gear. If we have gear that’ll fit you, you’re welcome to borrow it. Cross-country skiin’ isn’t real difficult, but it is a lot of work. Any one of us would be happy to teach you, just around the house to see if ya like it.”

“That sounds great! You guys really are great hosts. I was just thinking of relaxing mostly, but skiing sounds like fun. I understand why you guys like to get out. The area around here is just beautiful. I don’t think that I’ll be the world’s best skier, but I should be able to get the hang of it after a few lessons.”

“Okay. If there’s somethin’ you’d like to do, let us know.”

Sandy started to get up. “Time for pie and ice cream—”

I cut her off. “You just stay there, darlin’. You cooked most of this. I’ll get the pie and ice cream.” She smiled at me.

Smitty spoke up. “Jason and I are on cleanup crew.”

“What does that leave for me?” Mike looked at me.

“Breakfast duty, buddy.” I went into the kitchen and got the pies and a carton of ice cream. I dished it out and passed it around.

“If you three are interested, we’ve got board games, cards, and quite a few DVDs to watch, for after dinner.”

“David and I are probably going to turn in early. We both had a very busy week.”

“Okay. How about you, AJ?”

“If I can, I’m just going to read in the living room.”

“Of course you can. Make yourself at home.”

After dinner, Sandy helped clean off the table and headed home to Winslett. Bryan and David decided to watch TV for a bit, and AJ had a book he was reading. Mike and I decided to soak in the hot tub. The three dudes settled on the couch, and Mike and I went upstairs to change. When we were walking through the living room to the hot tub, David was staring at us intently. AJ noticed and spoke up.

“So, is this part of the entertainment—you two walking around in those skimpy swimsuits?” He laughed, and Bryan and David joined in.

“Not hardly.” I made a mental note to get a couple of robes for us.

“You sure you guys are not from Texas?”

“Nope, we’re not, why?” AJ was staring at me. He finally laughed.

“I hear things are a lot bigger in Texas.” David nodded very seriously, and Bryan looked a bit embarrassed. I tried to laugh politely, and Mike joined me.

“Hey guys, no offense. I’m just joking with you. If I was out of line, I certainly didn’t mean it.”

“None taken at all, AJ.” He had noticed how Mike, myself, Sandy, Smitty, and now Jason all joke around with one another, and caught on real quick.

“Great! Maybe tomorrow, you and Mike could teach me a bit about cowboy culture.”

“We’d be happy to, right, Jeffy?” Mike answered.

“Yep. Now let’s get out to the hot tub, buddy.”

We headed out the back door and to the hot tub. It was really cold out. Since it was clear, there were no clouds to hold the heat in. It must have been about fifteen degrees. Mike and I hung our towels up and pulled the cover off the hot tub right quick. Steam rose up in huge clouds. We jumped in pretty fast. We moved close together and intertwined our feet. It was really the first time we’d had much of a chance to be alone all day. I leaned into Mike and nuzzled his neck with my beard.

“That was awful nice to ask your dad to stay for dinner, buddy.”

“The dudes like him and seem to respect him, and Jason really likes him too. To be honest, Jeffy, I was glad he said no.”

“It made him happy.”

“That wasn’t my intent. I’m still pretty confused. He obviously feels bad for what he did. He’s become a friend to the gay community and is helpin’ kids who were in my situation. I can’t get past the fact though that he was the one who caused my situation.”

“You may never, buddy. I’d be kinda shocked and worried if you were suddenly able to forgive him.”

“You don’t think I’m a bad person, or shallow or unforgivin’ or vindictive because I ain’t ready to have much to do with him?”

“Not at all. I reckon you’re bein’ a lot bigger man than most guys in your boots would be.” He laid his head on my shoulder and grabbed my hand and held it.”

“Thanks. You make me feel almost normal.”

“Buddy, I got a surprise for you, you ain’t normal.”

“What?” He looked at me, all upset.

“You are so far above normal and so much better than normal, words can’t describe it.” He laid his head back down on my shoulder and found my hand again.

“Thanks, you’re a special guy, Jeffy.”

“Yeah, just keep me away from kryptonite.”

“Cocky bastard.”

“Damn right, your cocky bastard.” We both laughed.

We jumped out of the hot tub and dried off pretty quick. I wrapped my towel around my waist and headed into the house. Bryan, David, and AJ had already gone to their rooms. Mike and I put on sweats and played a game on the Xbox until late. We ended up going right to sleep.

I
T
WAS
still dark out when I woke up, but the moon was shinin’ through the skylight and made the room bright. I looked at the clock. It was three ten. I was on my side, spooning Mike. He was softly snoring. I had my arms around him. I rubbed his chest with the arm draped over him and nuzzled the back of his neck. He pushed back into me, muttered something I couldn’t understand, and started snoring again. His pushing back into me had positioned his cute little butt right in my crotch. It definitely got a reaction from me. I nuzzled him again and began rubbing his nipples. He muttered again and continued snoring. I let my hand run down his chest and treasure trail. I rubbed his bush and then down his cock. He was rock hard too. I cupped his balls and massaged gently. He let out a sigh and kept on snoring. I know he can be a heavy sleeper, but this was ridiculous. I pulled my arm out from under him and pulled the other one off of him. He made a little grunting noise and then went on with sleeping. I reckoned I’d just have to get the message across to him a little better. I slapped his ass as hard as I could. He reared up on his hands and knees.

“What… huh, what’s that for?” He was still groggy from sleep.

“Get your ass in the air. You’re gettin’ fucked.”

I’d said the magic word, and it wasn’t please. He had his butt up and his chest on the bed in a millisecond. He spread his legs so wide, I was pretty sure he was gonna be sore tomorrow. I reached over, got the lube, and lubed his ass and my dick up good. I slapped his ass a few times more for good measure. He was starting to moan and whimper, and I hadn’t even slid in yet. As I pushed into him, I leaned forward and greased his cock up.

“Jerk yourself off while I fuck that sweet ass of yours.”

“Okay, Jeffy, I will, I am.” He began to pull his cock as I slid in and out of his ass. I slapped his ass again. It tightened around my cock.

“You’re tight, buddy. You got such a sweet ass, so tight and hot.” I slapped him a few times. I could feel his ass was hot from the slaps. He was squeezing the muscles of his ass on my cock like he was trying to milk it. It felt great. He was murmuring incoherently. Every once in a while I could hear an, “Oh yeah,” or “Fuck me.” After another series of slaps, he started moaning, “More, more.”

“Who’s your ass belong to?”

“You.”

“Me who?”

“You, sir!”

“Say my name. Me sir, who?” I slapped him harder and several times. His ass muscles bore down hard. It felt fantastic. I moaned in pleasure.

“You, Jeff. Jeffy, sir. My Jeffy. Fuck me, Jeffy, fuck me please. Use my ass, Jeff, slap it, fuck it, Jeff.”

“You’re my fuck toy, ain’t ya, buddy?”

“Yeah, oh yeah.” He was starting to bear down without even getting slapped.

“You really like gettin’ woke up in the middle of the night to take care of me, to get fucked, don’t ya?” It was really turning him on hearing me talk like that to him. He started moaning, bucking back on me, and clamping down. I knew he was shooting into the sheets. I pushed him down so he was lying on his belly without missing a stroke. I leaned over him and began to gently kiss and nibble his ear.

“You’re so hot, buddy. Such a sweet ass. Feels so good, you sharin’ it with me. Bein’ inside you. Fuck, it’s incredible. So hot, so tight, so sweet. I’m gonna shoot.” He pulled around and began to kiss me. I felt myself tense and then the incredible feeling of release washed over me. I rolled off him and lay on my side, pulling him with me. I was still inside him, and we were spooned together.

I gently kissed the back of his neck.

“Mike, you are so beautiful. I just can’t get enough of ya. So beautiful, I’m so lucky. Thank you.” I squeezed him.

“Thank you, Jeffy, that was fantastic. How come you never woke me up like that before?”

“You ain’t exactly easy to wake up.”

“Yeah, but I’m worth the effort, ain’t I?”

“Hell yeah, but who’s the cocky bastard now?”

“I guess you’re rubbin’ off on me.” He yawned. The sound made me sleepy. I kissed his neck.
