As the waves crashed the shore, creating a delightful, dark
serenity, I leaned into him and shared a soft, meaningful kiss.

"Sorry about your skirt.  It's filthy now,” he said,
brushing the sand off me.

I sat up and clambered to my feet.  It took a second for me
to readjust to being vertical again.  But what a treat it was to see Edwin
lying there, pants unfastened, shirt hiked up exposing his brick layered abs.

Smiling, Edwin refastened his pants and flexed every muscle
as he leaned forward to stand up next to me.  He raised his eyebrows knowing
that I was still missing something.

"Do you think I could get my panties back now?" I
asked, sticking out my bottom lip.  I reached into his pocket, but my hand came
out empty.

He retrieved my panties from his other pocket, dangled them
in front of me, and proceeded to spin them around on his finger.  "Looking
for these?"

I tried to yank them from his hand, but he was too fast.  He
tucked them back in his pocket and took two long strides away from me.

"Oh, so this is how it’s gonna be?"

Edwin swiftly removed his socks and shoes, then ran off into
the darkness toward the surf.  "You can have them, if you can catch
me," he hollered, as he ran ankle deep into the waves.

I was already filthy so I figured what was a little water
going to hurt?  I chased in after him and tackled him into the shallow water.  He
caught me around the waist and so I landed on top of him.  He dipped me into
the water, to make sure I got as wet as him.

We splashed around, rolling in the waves, kissing and
touching, until I finally snuck my panties from his pocket.  I got the panties,
but now we were both soaked and dirty with sand from our ears to our toes.  I shoved
him away to slip on the scrap of silky lace, and started toward the beach.  Edwin
leapt from the waves and carried me back into them.

He dropped back down and pulled my water-logged body on top
of him.  I couldn't stop giggling and smiling.  His smile was just as big, his
teeth gleaming in the moonlight.  I was spellbound.  I ran my fingers through
his sexy wet hair and clung to his body, as I pressed a kiss to the corner of
his mouth.

He ran his hand down my thigh and I shivered, though my
cheeks were burning.  He pushed me to my knees and lifted his wet sculpted body
to a sitting position beneath me, his shirt clinging deliciously to every
twitching muscle.

"You belong with me," he said, and wrapped my
chilled body in his warm arms.

"I know,” I said softly, a hand flattened on his smooth chest
next to my head.

The waves continued to crash around us, promptly delivering
me into a dreamscape.  The night was warm, but the water was cold and my
nipples were now protruding out of my top.  Taking Edwin’s hand, I stood up and
dragged him out of the water with me.

"Where are our shoes?" I asked, frantically searching
in the deepening darkness for my expensive stilettos.

Edwin's sight, being more keen than mine, helped him to locate
them farther up the beach with little effort.  I teetered over to them and he
laughed at me.

"That water didn't straighten you up?" he asked.

"I'm definitely awake, but I may still be under the
influence," I admitted, having had way too much to drink.

He laughed again.  "That's my girl."

Barefoot and soaked to the bone, we walked hand in hand.
When we reached the paved sidewalk, Edwin squeezed the water out of his shirt.

"Yeah, we're gonna have no trouble finding a cab
tonight," he said sarcastically.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked, without any brilliant
ideas of my own.

"Maybe you could drop your top again.  That might get a
few takers," he teased.

I slapped him hard and he acted hurt, but his grin returned
on his face in a matter of seconds.  "Don't worry Abs.  We'll figure
something out."

We continued up the street toward some commotion outside a
small local bar.  It looked like Jay had gotten himself into a little trouble.
He was throwing wild punches at some guy, and Tanner was providing his backup, getting
right in on the action.  Aliah was casually leaning against the wall next to
the door of the bar.  She was alone.  Edwin and I strolled over to her.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Oh, you know: the usual.  Turns out that Jay was
hanging out with a slut.  Big surprise.  That dude over there thinks she’s his
girl.  Jay doesn’t think so.  It actually makes for good entertainment.  Go
Tanner!" she cheered.

"It's good to see you're enjoying yourself," I said.

"Yeah I am, but look at you.  You're a mess; but you're
totally glowing.  What have you done to her?" she asked Edwin, smiling.
She had no idea.  Then again, maybe she did.

"Whatever it is, I like it," she said vulgarly.

"I guess I just have that effect on the ladies,"
Edwin said, a sexy smile slanting across his handsome face.

Aliah laughed.  "Whatever."

After the other guy was lying flat on his back and his
friends ran off to hide, Tanner hurried toward us, with Jay limping up behind
him.

"Let's get out of here.  We're parked just up the road,”
Tanner said, dragging limping Larry after us.

I looked to Aliah.  "Are they in any shape to be
driving?"

Aliah nodded with certainty, as we rushed toward Tanner’s car.
"Tanner hasn't had a single drink this whole time I've been with him,"
she insisted.

Jay got in the backseat of the two- door Civic, fat lip and
all.  Aliah and Edwin piled in next to him.  It only left one vacant seat, and
that was in the front.  With Tanner.

"It's okay, you can fit," Edwin told me, suggesting
I squish in the back with him.  He was already soaking Aliah, but she seemed
amused by that fact.

“Just get in," Tanner yelled, as he turned over the
engine.

"It's fine, I can sit in the front," I said to
Edwin, as I slammed back the passenger seat and scampered into it.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna try anything.  You can give
me a little more credit than that,"  Tanner scolded, as he pulled into the
street.

I glanced over my shoulder again only to find Aliah pressed
up against Jay.  He was smirking at me; or maybe it was only his fat lip.  I
looked away quickly, but when I glanced back it was obvious he was smirking, getting
off from making me uncomfortable.

"Hit Jay for me, will ya," I shouted over the loud
music.

Aliah did, without question.

"Hey, what did I do?" he hollered at her.

Edwin reached his hand over the right side of my seat to
catch my attention.  I reached my hand over my shoulder to hold his; and it
gave me some relief.

"So what'd you guys end up doing tonight?" Jay
asked curiously.

I smirked, blushing profusely, as I squeezed Edwin’s hand.
Tanner looked at me and figured it out right away.  We were still drenched from
frolicking in the lake after all.

"Right," Jay said, exaggerating the word.

"Sorry about your seats," I said to Tanner,
ignoring Jay.

"No problem.  They'll wipe right down," he
insisted.

I could tell from how clean the car was that he'd be wiping the
leather down as soon as my ass left the seat.

Minutes later we pulled into the resort and Tanner slowly pulled
up to our place.

"Thanks for the ride," I said appreciatively, as I
got out of his car.  I caught him staring as I bent over to flip the seat to let
Edwin and Aliah out of the back.

It was apparent that Edwin caught him too, but he managed to
contain his anger.  Could he really blame him for noticing?  I was soaked to
the bone.

"Thanks for the ride Arnold, I mean Tanner," Edwin
said, as he pulled me into his arms and rested his hand on my ass.

Aliah kissed her fingers and tapped them on Jay's lips, since
he seemed to have passed out.  "Night, night," she called to Tanner,
as she shut the door.

He pulled away in his car, looking at us in the rear-view,
and I was sure that it was the last I would see of him.  I stared as the he
slowly rode off, and Edwin held me around my waist, resting his chin on my
head.

"I'm going straight to bed," Aliah said, as she
trotted for the door.

We followed her to the cabin to see what the sleeping
arrangements were for the night.  We quietly crept into the place and it was so
very quiet.  Maddie’s bedroom door was shut, and no doubt she had a guest.  Our
bedroom door was wide open and it was empty, until Aliah stepped inside and started
to undress.

"Abby, you coming?" Aliah whispered, oblivious to
the situation.

"No, I think I'm gonna head next door with Edwin,"
I whispered back from the kitchen, certain that I did not want to be there when
Aliah figured it all out it the morning.

"What?  I don't bite, and Eddie boy's welcome to join
us," she said, hoping Eddie would change my mind for me.

"Another time," Edwin insisted, making Aliah laugh
softly.

"Suit yourselves," she said, as she closed the
bedroom door quietly.

Edwin led the way, with long strides to his cabin.  He stopped
me just outside his door.  "TJ may have company.  I just wanted to warn
you," he whispered.

"Is that all you were doing?" I asked, as I put my
arms over his shoulders.

He smiled wickedly and leaned down for a kiss, slowly tasting
me, like it was going to be our last.  He swept me up with a storm of emotions,
but I was already head-over-heels in love with him.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
~

AFTER OUR TRIP AT the Southwind Inn, things were a little sticky between
Aliah and Hunter to say the least.  A few weeks had gone by and Aliah was still
giving him the cold shoulder, unwilling to talk to him about what happened.
She was also giving me a hard time about going to the Westmount, where Hunter
works.  If she couldn’t, then I couldn’t.  It was a tough sell, but I finally
convinced her that it's okay to step foot in the club again.  She needed to let
off some steam and what better way that to work it out with some cardio?

I approached the front doors of the Westmount
cautiously, praying that we wouldn't come across Hunter.  We hustled straight
to our Zumba class and made it, avoiding potential catastrophe.  After a good
hard work out, and a quick shower, I hurried into the front hall ahead of Aliah.
I thought I would head off any trouble, but my plan backfired brilliantly.
When Hunter saw me, he excused himself from his private session to talk.
Shit!

Aliah wasn't far behind me and was standing at my side
when Hunter finally realized I wasn’t alone.

"Hey guys.  I haven't seen you in weeks.  Aliah,
you haven't been returning my calls.  We really need to talk," Hunter said,
putting her on the spot.

I tried to stay out of it, backing away to remove
myself from the line of fire, knowing it was going to get messy.

"You really should've kept it in your pants if you
wanted a chance with me," she said, eyes narrowed on him.

"I had a moment of weakness.  It's not unheard of: I am
a man.  But Aliah, it's you that I want."

"You should’ve thought about that before you did
Maddison.  If that was your way of getting my attention, well congratulations
you got it!" she hollered hysterically.  "Too bad I'm not one for
sloppy seconds."

"It's not like that Aliah and you know it," he
said, gazing at her through dark, brooding eyes.

Aliah didn’t back down.  She had plenty of time to decide
what she was going to say to him, and she wasn't leaving anything out.  "Sorry
to break it to you H-u-n-t-e-r, but life doesn't come with any guarantees or
time outs.  I can't just snap my fingers and forget it ever happened.  I won't!
 Sorry 'bout your luck!"

"You don't have to give me a second chance Aliah, but
you do need to know how I feel.  I've made my choice and I choose you."

"Yeah, I buy that," Aliah announced sarcastically.
"I bet you told Maddison that to get her in bed too."

"This has nothing to do with Maddie.  Leave her out of
it."

"It's a little late for that, wouldn't you say?  You
fucked her Hunter.  This has everything to do with her!"

"I made my decision; granted it was the wrong one.  I'll
deal with the consequences."

"Yeah, you do that.  A-L-O-N-E.  Because I refuse to be
your trusty old backup plan."

"Maybe you guys should take this outside," I
suggested, trying to step between their heated stares.  "Seriously Hunter,
you don't want to lose your job over this."

"Why not, then he'll have more time to fuck around with
Maddison."  Aliah stomped outside, madder than a wet cat.

Hunter chased after her.  I reluctantly followed them, for
moral support, though I wished I didn't have to witness the whole charade first
hand.
