This is the second of a two part series:
Book 1: Anna’s Contract

Book 2: Twisted Souls

one

“Time for round two, Anna. Your punishment calls for whipping, both front and back. I need you to cooperate so I can punish your backside.”

Caden loosened the straps holding Anna down onto the ottoman.

“For the next phase of your chastisement, we’ll head to the break room.”

A pang of fear shot through Anna. Somehow, because her punishment so far had been in the Branch Manager’s office, she hadn’t thought about her co-workers at all. But, in the break room she made coffee and talked about last night’s big shows while dweebs hit on her. Anna attracted the pimple faced, sweaty IT dudes, not the hot guys with great hair and sharp clothes from sales and marketing.

“Will people see us there?

“It’s well after hours. Everyone who uses the break room has gone home.”

Her stomach growled at the mention of the time. Most nights she ate soon after leaving work, but it must be after six-thirty by now.

“I can’t believe you need to take me there,” Anna said. He couldn’t mean it.

Caden Morning picked up his shirt from his desk. Somehow, he’d made it into a neat package while she’d been lost in a fog of lust and erotic pain. The muscles of his back rippled. He shrugged into his sleeves like liquid filling a bucket. “And yet, that’s what I say we need to do.”

Grabbing his jacket from the back of the manager’s chair, he shrugged back into it.
He had folded that, too.
“You have two choices, Anna. If you want to keep your job, you’ll follow me.”

With that, he picked up his case and walked out the door.

Anna had misgivings. Should she walk naked through the halls wear she strode in her work outfits during the day, or get dressed and run from the building?

What’s important? Pride? She’d always been taught that pride is a sin. With pride and without her job, she’d be on the street. With pride and a two dollar bill, she could get a burger and fries.

Her mother’s therapy, helping her sister’s orphanage along with her occasional latte; these she would have to trade for her pride. Maybe she’d be out on the street, too, and lose her bed and her night table. She’d worked so hard to find a matching pair on Craigslist.

No, pride was not the state of paramount importance to her. Security mattered more. The security of a roof and knowing she’d have money to pay the rent. The security of being able to pay her mother’s bills, being able to order a fancy sweet iced drink. For those things, she’d walk naked through Darco’s pale blue painted halls to the break room and her fate with Caden Morning.

Something flashed in the corner of her eye. Her boobs, bobbing in the glass-covered abstract paintings in the hallway. Anna suppressed the urge to run to her destination. She would show him. She strolled into the break room with her head held high. Anna stood before Caden with her hands on her hips, her brows arching.

“Go stand in the corner,” he said.

“Really? I came here of my own free will. I chose this instead of quitting. Is that all you can say?”

“Go stand in the corner and you’ve earned five more strokes of the whip for asking. If you talk back again, I’ll make it ten.”

Seeing that now that she’d convinced herself to accept his hard bargain, she had to play her part or suffer the consequences. Anna stumbled over to the corner of the room and stood there, letting out tiny sobs over his unfairness.

The mere fact that he planned to whip her more was bad enough, but did he see her as a mindless doll? A puppet who would march down to the break room for a spanking whenever he told her to?

Anna tried to crane her head to see what Caden was doing, but being in the corner of the room, that didn’t work. She’d have to turn her body sideways to see him.

And who knows what he’ll do to me then.

She heard him moving straps around and removing an object from of his case which made a clicking sound, like the unfolding of a beach umbrella.

Maybe he’s setting us up a campsite to play tent in
, she mused, remembering how she played with her neighbor in his backyard. He’d had a tent setup and they’d go in there for privacy.

They’d both seen a new show where the cowboys had been tied up and whipped by the Indians, and she suggested they play that.

They’d taken off their clothes and she’d wrapped some thin strings around his wrists and smacked him a few times with a plastic bow he’d had.

She remembered his miniature boner sticking out like a pink worm and how her own naked body had been full of tingles.

But then, his mom had called them into lunch and they’d rushed to get back to normal.

The boy might have said something to his mom, or maybe he just got scared, because the tent went down and he never asked her to play in his backyard again. A few months later, the family moved away.

“Come here, Anna.”

Caden’s commanding voice swept her mind clear of dirty memories. Anna turned back to him, hoping to see some mercy in his cerulean eyes that managed to be both magnetic and dangerous. He wore a look of appraisal, as if trying to decide how many hours to spend on her. She vowed then that whatever happened, he would leave the office today respecting her loyalty and her ability to rise to the demands Darco made of its employees.

Anna clicked across the room, the leather straps over the arch of her feet; the way they made her behind jut out made her feel more naked than she would if she were barefoot.

“Now that you’ve had some fun, I’m going to give you a hard test of your obedience. You signed your employment paperwork, and on those documents, do you remember what it said about speaking to anyone outside the company regarding the actions of your superiors?”

Anna wracked her brain. The dense legalese of the contract blurred in her mind’s eye.

“We can’t say anything to our family about the things we’re ordered to do at work.”

“Correct, Anna. This might seem very unfair, but we deal with very sensitive information here at Darco. If you stay, you must never speak of any of the things we do here. Nor anything I do to you. Not to anyone.”

Caden Morning pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and tossed it onto the plastic table before him.

“This is the Non-Disclosure Agreement you signed.”

“It says ‘The Receiving Party’ will keep and maintain the Confidential Information in strictest confidence…the Receiving Party is you, Anna, by the way.”

He picked up the paper.

“The Receiving Party will carefully restrict and protect the Confidential Information…’ It goes on to specify in great detail the types of information covered by this agreement. They include, but aren’t limited to, punishment by your superior on and off the premises of Darco, Incorporated.”

Caden folded the paper and held it in front of her, showing her the signature line at the bottom.

“This is your writing?”

Anna’s eyes blurred with tears, but she recognized her own over-sized A.

“Of course. It’s my signature.”

Anna’s stomach quivered. Was this the right path for her? Standing here, naked and feeling heavy, was this the place she wanted to be?

Folding it back up and nodding, Caden stuck the signed NDA back into his jacket.

Caden pointed to a spot in front of him.

“Stand here.”

Anna clicked over to stand where he indicated. He licked his lips. Anna backed up, unsure if she should remain. Something hit her thighs.

The table. If I back up anymore, I’ll fall onto it.
Anna looked to her left and then to her right.
Run,
her inner voice yelled.

But she didn’t run.

From behind her bangs, she inspected his sea-blue gaze and the knowing look on his face. Around Caden’s eyes, she saw the wrinkles of a smile, though his sensuous lips set in a firm line.

I’m really going to let him tie me up again and hit me some more.

Her clit hardened and her nipples swelled.

Caden’s eyes looked down and she realized that she could hide nothing from him.

Especially when I’m naked.

“It looks like obeying me turns you on, Anna. Give in to your feelings. Enjoy the pain.”

He wrapped the scratchy Velcro around her left wrist, then her right.

“You know you want to.”

Serious now, the hint of smile left his eyes and his upper lip curled.
He looks more like an alpha wolf, growling at me to make me submit.

“You need to cooperate in your discipline again. You can show me how you’ve repented your dishonest behavior and are ready to follow company policies, by your active and cooperative participation.”

Anna gritted her teeth and hissed between them, “What do you want me to do?”

He motioned to the break table in the center of the room.

“Lean over the table.”

She moved over to it and grabbed its edges with her hands.

Caden slapped her ass, hard. Anna yelped.

“Get your chest right down on the table, Anna.”

Wincing, she looked down at the spilled coffee and pastry crumbs. The janitors cleaned the room late each night. Now, just after quitting time, the table was stained with the remains of the day.

“Please, Mr. Morning, don’t make me lay down in here for a whipping. It’s where everyone comes to get coffee and talk.”

“Do as you’re told, Anna.” He spanked her again.

She wrinkled her nose in disgust and looked over her shoulder at him, her mouth gaping open and her lip curled up.

“It’s the break room. We come here to get away from work for a bit.”

“A loyal employee doesn’t want to get away from work. This is part of what you need to learn.”

He motioned with his crop. “Just think you’ll be able to look around next time and wonder who’s been punished in here, too. I can promise you that Miss Tolling uses this room after hours for serious cases like yours.”

Anna thought about that. She liked Eve, who worked a few desks down from her, but the girl never loitered in the break room. Just the other day, one of the older, balder men— Fred— had teased her as she talked about the latest
Game of Thrones
with Marcy, the new hire from accounting.

“If you spend too much time on your coffee break, Eve, they’ll have to send you back for re-training.”

The others in the room had laughed, though Anna didn’t see the funny part. Eve flushed bright red and fled the room, spilling coffee from her cup. Now, Anna understood. If Anna knew that disobeying or shirking work led to physical punishment, then the mention of re-training would have upset her also.

“What did Eve do?”

“Eve? Oh, she’s a special case. You will learn about her soon enough. Unless I make you quit, of course.”

He ran the crop up her spine, pressing her forward, pushing her down on the table.

Anna’s sore breasts pressed into the textured surface, this morning’s stale donut crumbs and sticky spilled soda pricking her sensitized skin.

This is what I’ve come to. Lying down on a dirty plastic table for a whipping. From my oh so dreamy boss. Why doesn’t he just partake in good old fashioned workplace sex instead of this bizarre and painful stuff?
