Ugh!” The unfamiliar male voice was now directly to my right. I knew he was looking over the load, and I prayed they had covered me well. “I don’t see how you two do this job…”


Darling, this nose hasn’t worked right in ages. How’s it smell? Want us to hang around a while?” Abigail replied.

The plan seemed to be going perfectly, and it looked as though everything was going to go off without a hitch. As I laid there, eagerly awaiting the guard to tell us to go ahead, my worst fear suddenly became a reality. Even inside this manure-covered casket, the loud wailing of the Ashborne alarm bells was unmistakable.

Helplessly trapped inside this box, I filled with panic as I heard one of the guards say, “Don’t move!”

This was only the second time in my life I had ever heard the alarms of Ashborne, but I knew exactly what that sound meant…
