Okay spill. What’s going
on with the two of you?”

Nothing yet he wants to
take me out.”

What about
Tanek?”

I like Tanek but Adrian
gives me butterflies and makes my heart race. I need to find out if
it’s something worth pursuing. Besides I only went out with Tanek
once. We’re not exclusive.”

Just be careful. Men can
be very possessive no matter what species.”

Laya grabbed her order and rushed off.
Gretchen got Adrian his beer and headed back to his table. She set
the beer down and sat at the table with him.

Here’s my number. Call me;
I need to get back to work.” Gretchen smiled

I will call you late
tonight; what time do you get off.”

I get off at
one.”

I’ll be in
touch.”

Adrian got up and left a hundred dollar bill
on the table and walked off.

Chapter 14

Cayden sat up in the hospital bed with the
injuries the nurse Cerise had promised, as well as a splitting
headache. He picked up a mirror that was sitting next to the bed
and looked at his face. He had a black eye and stitches on the side
of his head. He definitely looked horrible. He reached for Kieran’s
cell phone, which belonged to him now, and dialed Adrian’s
number.

Adrian, this is Cayden.
I’m in the hospital; the plan is complete. Please call the
Queen.”

Are you sure?”

Yes, please call my wife.”
Cayden hung up the phone. He anticipated the arrival of the Queen;
she was so beautiful. He hoped he could be content with her, or at
least they could be friends.

As he arrived at his apartment, Adrian hung
up the phone. He shut the door and activated the Fae portal. Queen
Brianna appeared looking very neat and proper but a little more
casual than usual, and the surroundings were different. She had a
single Brownie by her side, and no one else.

Fae enforcer, what news do
you have for me?”

It’s Kieran. He had an
accident and he is in the human hospital.”

Adrian never saw any emotions from the queen
but she genuinely looked worried. She stood up and looked at her
servant.

I must go to him. Where is
the hospital?

I can send you
directions.”

Send it to my lady in
waiting. You have the cell number; we just arrived in New
Orleans.”

Sending it
now.”

Thank you
Adrian.”

The Fae glass was once again clear. So far
so good. Hopefully the plan would work without fail.

Queen Brianna and Charity were in a car
being driven to the hospital. She wore a plain pink sundress with
white flowers and wondered if she should have changed into
something more formal for the King. She was so worried for Kieran,
she felt sick to her stomach. He was her husband and she cared and
worried for him.

Cam arrived at the club where Gretchen
worked. She watched as Gretchen talked with a male Fae who left
shortly after their conversation. Cam thought about following him
but decided in her condition she probably couldn’t keep up. She
walked over to the bar and sat down and ordered a cranberry juice.
Gretchen walked up after taking another order.

Cam! What are you doing
here?” Gretchen said as she slid into the bar stool next to her and
gave her a quick hug.

I was tired of being in
the house; I thought I would see where you worked.”

Order whatever you want,
it’s on the house.”

Thanks, I just ordered
some juice. We haven’t really spent much time together since I
moved in. I was hoping we could talk; get to know each other
better,” Cam said as she sipped her juice from a straw.

You know you’re right,
it’s still slow. I’ll have Laya cover my tables and we’ll spend a
little girl time together.”

Really?” Cam
said.

Yes really. Why don’t you
go to that booth in the corner and I’ll be right there.”

Cam took her drink and walked over to the
booth. She sat down and watched the people in the club as they
danced and laughed together. She spotted several Fae and other
paranormal beings. It felt good to be out around other people; she
had been so scared of getting caught that she rarely ventured
out.

Blake sat tied up after trying to convince
the old woman who called herself Liana he had no interest in her
Grandchildren. It was now dark outside, he was losing precious
time, he had to find a way out of this situation, and fast.

Mr. Blake, let’s start
again. Why were you outside watching my grandchildren?” Liana asked
once again.

I was hired to find a Fae
called Camilla. I was led to the house I was watching. There was a
strong Fae presence where there shouldn’t be one. I was
investigating; I’m looking for Fae — nothing more.”

But you see Mr. Blake, my
Grandchildren are Fae.”

What are you taking about?
That house was on Werecat Avenue, no Fae should be living
there.”

Yes well, they are unaware
they carry some Fae blood. I cannot risk you telling them
anything.”

I don’t get paid to find
part Fae, part whatever they are.” Blake was suddenly struck across
the face by Liana. It stung! For an old woman she could really hit.
He could see the fury emanating from her. She stood up and started
pacing the small room. She walked back and forth until she calmed
down a bit and then finally sat down again next to
Blake.

I apologize Mr. Blake; I
don’t take kindly to people’s insinuation about my Grandchildren
and their pedigree. That may not be pure Fae but that doesn’t make
them any less superior than you or any other Fae.”

I never meant to suggest
otherwise. I have no plans to interact with them in any way. Please
Ma’am just let me go, I promise just to observe. If I don’t see the
Fae I am looking for I will move on.”

I am considering what you
are telling me. How do I know you are being truthful?”

I was hired by the king
himself off the books. Just telling you this, I could be putting my
life in danger.”

I’m going to take a chance
and believe you Mr. Blake; Monroe will be back tomorrow morning.
Until then you will have to sit tight.”

Could you perhaps untie
me, I promise to behave.”

Very well, just remember I
may be old but I could still take you out.”

Of that I have no
doubt.”
Blake murmured.

After Liana untied Blake, he got up and
walked around, stretching after being restrained all day long. He
walked around the cabin looking at all the trinkets lining the
shelves around the room. Some were clearly Fae and some were
probably human.

Do you have something I
could eat? I’m starving.”

What kind of Fae are you,
Mr. Blake?”

Is that a no? Come on lady
I’m wasting away here.”

You can help yourself to
whatever is in the kitchen; I will not serve you young
man.”

You Liana, are a
firecracker, I like it.” Blake laughed.

Nothing like a challenging woman to get the
blood pumping.

Go feed yourself, Mr.
Blake I will be in my room, reading.”

Liana left the room and Blake helped himself
in the kitchen. He found all the fixings to make spaghetti and
decided to make enough for two. Something about Liana intrigued
him, he felt an attraction he had never felt for an older woman
before. As fun as his time had been with Autumn, this felt
different. More stimulating.

Chapter 15

Gretchen was plopped down on her bed after
an exhausting night at work. Her phone started ringing and she
answered it with a smile hoping it was Adrian.

Hello.”

Gretchen, this is
Adrian.”

I was hoping you would
call.”

I know its short notice
but I really want to see you, now! Can you meet me in the
woods?”

Do you know the pond by
the big oak tree?” Gretchen responded.

Yes, I’ll be
waiting.”

Gretchen hung up the phone and just stayed
on her bed for a moment; she was exhausted but she also wanted to
see Adrian. She decided to run in her cat form and took off her
clothes and transformed. She ran through the house out the cat
door. She headed for the woods taking in all the scents of the
forest. Moments later she arrived at the pond and found Adrian
sitting on the dock with his bare feet in the water. He heard a cat
and turned and saw Gretchen change from a cat to her human form.
She sat next to him on the dock. She knew she should be a little
more bashful about being naked in front of him but she wasn’t; she
felt completely comfortable and natural being with him.

Adrian looked at Gretchen as she sat with
him naked and innocent. He took her hand in his and smiled at
her.

How about we even things
up, I’ll take my clothes off too and we can go for a swim, the
water is just perfect.” Adrian said as he started
undressing.

Gretchen smiled and ran off the dock jumping
in, making a big splash.

Adrian soon followed her and they both began
swimming and splashing each other like a couple of teenagers.
Gretchen stared at Adrian, his muscles flexing as he swam around.
She felt her body come alive with a need to be closer to him, to
touch him. She swam around him inching her body closer and closer
with each pass. Adrian knew what she was doing and let her. He
didn’t want to scare her away. His cock became rock hard as she got
even closer; she faced him, taking in his manly scent of aftershave
and his natural scent mixed together with the forest around them.
He reached out, bringing her closer to him. He brushed his lips
over hers, lightly kissing her. She opened for him as he plunged
his tongue into her mouth, kissing her deeply. Gretchen moaned in
his mouth as he continued kissing her. Her body was on fire for his
touch as his hands reached her breasts, lightly rubbing her
nipples, making them pebble under the water.

Oh Adrian, what you do to
me,” she responded huskily.

Gretchen, should we
continue this on land?” She nodded as they both got out of the
water and sat on the dock. Gretchen eyed his obvious erection
standing at attention. She stared at him in all his nakedness. She
felt herself get moist with need for him to fill her, to make her
moan.

Would you like to come
back to my house for a midnight snack?” Gretchen asked, with hope
in her voice. She didn’t know why but she desperately wanted him,
and didn’t feel bad or ashamed in the least.

Actually, I think we
should call it a night. I think I would like to take you out for
dinner later, and you need rest, you had a busy day at
work.”

Adrian stood up and began dressing. Gretchen
stood with a disappointed look on her face, but she knew it was for
the best; they should slow it down.

Adrian handed her his shirt to put on. She
looked at it questioningly.

I would like to walk you
home, unless you want to walk home naked.”

Yes, of course.” Gretchen
replied. She put on his t-shirt; it came down to her knees like a
dress. It had his scent all over. He held her hand as they walked
back to her house. She felt her body tingle at his touch; she felt
an overwhelming, aggressive possessiveness toward him. There was a
light on when they reached her house.

My roommate Cam must be
eating again.” Gretchen laughed as she reached her
house.

Wait, Cam is your
roommate, a pregnant Fae?” Adrian asked in shock. Could the King’s
mistress actually be Gretchen’s roommate?

Why do you
ask?”

Cam is wanted by the
Seelie Fae, and she is the Kings mistress. He is still trying to
find her.”

What are you talking
about? How do you know all of this?”

It’s my job; I’m the Fae
enforcer. I bring escaped criminals back to the other
realm.”

Gretchen’s face fell. He couldn’t do this.
He couldn’t take Cam to Fae Prison. A scowl appeared on Gretchen’s
face.

So what now, you drag a
defenseless pregnant Fae back to prison?”

Actually no, I’ve been
working with the King. He wants to find her and disappear; it’s his
baby she carries.”

Adrian, I don’t know, how
do you know the King is being truthful?”

Could you please talk to
Cam? I will be back tonight at seven to pick you up for our date. I
will talk to her at that time”

Okay.” Gretchen replied
gently. Adrian gave Gretchen a light kiss on the cheek and
left.

Cayden waited in the hospital bed expecting
the beautiful Queen Brianna to arrive at any moment. He was anxious
and nervous; it had been so long since he felt the touch of a Fae
woman he hoped she wouldn’t be disappointed in him.
