My eyelids fluttered closed as I tipped my head back, exposing my throat to his warm mouth. His fingers, so thick, slid between my lips to find my clit. The feeling of his rough, manly, calloused hands over my sensitive folds, massaging the bead of nerves at my sex, was bliss. Heat ripped through my body as desire, so raw, boiled in my core. His lips moved lower, over the skin of my throat and down between my breasts as his fingers worked me into a trembling frenzy on his bed. Pulling one tingling nipple into his mouth, he sucked hard and a gasp fell from between my lips as his fingers found my opening, pushing gently inside.
A breathy cry fell from my lips as I felt his fingers stretch me, pushing deep, before pulling out agonizingly slow. My hands curled into the blankets at my side as I arched my back, feeling his mouth claim my other breast. His fingers pushed inside of me, finding a sweet rhythm as his thumb found my clit, rubbing and pressing as he caught the strings of my climax, pulling it from deep within my body.
I felt my walls tighten around his fingers as my climax grew, pulsing and throbbing - demanding release. As promised, Kyle brought me to my peak and didn’t disappoint. A cry of pleasure echoed off the walls as I shattered around his fingers, waves of pleasure consuming me. Kyle milked me of my orgasm before slowly pulling his fingers from deep within.
Opening my eyes, I found him watching me with wild heat and something more in his eyes. My lips parted in shock as he brought his fingers to his mouth, licking them clean of my orgasm. Never had I seen a man do that and a blush rose in my cheeks at the brazen action.
He spoke, his voice gravelly. “You’re so beautiful when you come, Kami.”
“Thanks,” I whispered. My eyes dropped lower to see his still erect penis throbbing with desire and I instantly wanted to bring him to climax as he had for me. Pushing myself into a sitting position, I reached for his hard cock, but his hand wrapped around my wrist, halting me.
He shook his head at my confusion. “You don’t have to, Kami.”
“But you’re,” I paused with a blush. “I want to do this for you. I want to make you come too.”
He shook his head again. “Tonight was for you, Sweetheart. I can wait until you’re ready to admit that this is right and that you want me completely.”
My breath caught. “I can’t marry you, Kyle.”
“Why not?”
“It’s crazy.” I tugged my hand from his grasp to scrub it over my face.
“What’s crazy isn’t that I want to spend my life with the only woman who has ever consumed my every thought and made me want things I’d never once given second thought to, but that you’re sitting here, denying that this feels right.”
“I never denied that this feels right, Kyle.” I whispered, hugging my knees to my chest. “But it would be irrational to marry someone you’ve only known a couple months.”
“What’s irrational is you believing I’ll ever change my mind.” He growled. “I want you. I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anyone, Kami. I love you and if I have to ask you to marry me every day for the rest of my life, then I will. Because until you say yes, I’m not going to stop.”
Blinking up at him, my heart racing, I replied. “Even if I said yes, we couldn’t.”
Determination to prove me wrong ignited in his eyes. “Why not?”
“Because,” I sputtered, knowing I was grasping at straws. “Logan and Reese are getting married in September. We can’t just announce an engagement or start planning a wedding while they’re planning theirs. That would just be rude.”
Kyle’s eyes darkened. “Do you want a big white wedding, love?”
I frowned. “Why?”
“I want to know. I’ll give you anything you want, but I need to know.”
I shook my head. “I’ve never wanted the big white wedding, Kyle.” I shrugged sadly. “See, there’s so much we don’t know about each other. We can’t be considering marriage.”
“I’m not considering marriage, love. You are.” His eyes darkened. “I already know I’ll be marrying you, I just don’t know when. And as for knowing everything about you, I’d like to spend the rest of my life learning. There’s nothing I could find out about you that would change my mind.”
I lowered my eyes, thinking of my mother and the path I’d travelled with Rhett. “You don’t know that.”
He placed his finger beneath my chin, tilting my head back as his eyes found mine. “I do know that, sweetheart. I don’t care about the past. What matters is the future we make for ourselves and I want my future with you.”
“Kyle,” agitation with a hint of panic sounded in my voice.
He shook his head. “Let’s discuss it tomorrow, love. Tonight, I just want to show you what it would be like.”
Feeling sadness prick my eyes for the billionth time tonight, I nodded. “Okay.”
Kyle pushed himself from the bed, lifting me in his strong arms to pull the blankets down the bed. Placing me in the center, he crawled in behind me, his body curving around mine. His lips pressed against the bare skin of my shoulder, and a new heat burned low in my belly as I felt his erection swell against my backside. I wanted to please him - I wanted him to make love to me - but I knew he wouldn’t. I knew now that he was determined to marry me before he made me his. As honorable as that notion was, it was annoying as all hell.
I pulled my knees into my chest, balancing my heels against the lip of the kitchen table chair. Perching my coffee cup on my kneecap, I stared with abandon at Kyle. He was flipping eggs at the stove and he wasn’t wearing a shirt. Black sweats hung low on his sculpted hips and with every movement, no matter how minor, the muscles in his back flexed.
I had spent every night with Kyle for the last week, and despite my best efforts, he had yet to make love to me. However, he had proposed to me every day since - sometimes twice a day. People were beginning to suspect there was something going on between the two of us. It was hard not to with our constant googly eyes across the gym. (I really had to keep it platonic when his family was around).
Our relationship was still new to me and I was still processing. I hadn’t even told Ember that I’d been spending my nights with Kyle - but he was the hottest topic of conversation when we did speak. Of course, Ember had come across Kyle once or twice in her stays at the Ranch and she never missed the opportunity to tell me I should definitely
hit it
. Funny, the girl thought I should sleep with Kyle when she was still a virgin herself. Unlike me who’d settled for the first man in my life, Ember was waiting for Mr. Right - or Mr. Absolutely Fucking Perfect.
Shaking my head, I set an internal alarm to call her again today. I missed talking to her and I really couldn’t wait for her to come out to the Ranch this summer.
Kyle turned around, holding two plates with eggs and toast in his hands. “Breakfast is served.”
“Yum,” I rubbed my hands together. “It looks delicious.”
The corner of his lips lifted with a thoughtful smile as he watched me take a bite. “I’ve been thinking.”
I raised a brow, “That’s odd.” I teased.
He smirked. “I’m serious, smart-ass.”
“Okay, okay,” I laughed. “You’ve been thinking, about what?”
“Us.”
I narrowed my eyes, but couldn’t keep my smile from my lips. “Are you proposing again? You’ve already done it today, Kyle, twice is just overkill.”
He chuckled. “Actually, I was thinking about what you said about how we couldn’t get married because of Reese and Logan.”
“Oh?” Alright, so I was interested.
“You don’t want a big white wedding.” His eyes were intense on my face, studying my every reaction to his words. I didn’t want to react at all, but my heart was pounding and my breaths were coming in short. He continued, “I’ve been thinking that we should just drive to Calgary and elope.”
“What?” I sputtered. My eyes were so wide that I was almost afraid they would fall from my head. “Come again?”
Kyle leaned back in his chair, clearly amused by my shock. “We can get married whenever we want if we elope.”
“Uh,” I rubbed my brow. “Your mother will have my head and your hide if we do something like that.”
“If she wants, we’ll plan to have a reception after Logan and Reese get married.” He shrugged. “But this isn’t about my mother, or anyone else. It’s about us.”
“But,”
“Do you want to marry me, Kami?” He asked bluntly. This was a new question - and on top of this being new territory, I sensed that he wouldn’t have much patience for the ‘I don’t know’ that was itching to fall from my lips.
Instead, I said. “Yes.” Surprising us both.
Kyle’s brows raised and his lips stretched into a full-blown grin. I watched, through startled eyes, as Kyle jumped up from his chair. His hands clasped around my waist and he lifted me from my chair, pulling my body against his. The contact of his body against mine encouraged me to move and I wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him to me as I worked my mind through what had just happened.
I’d actually told Kyle I wanted to marry him. I mean, wow. I knew I wanted to be with him, for a very long time. Hell, if this is how we always were, then I would be more than happy to march down to the courthouse to elope today, but there was no sure telling that we would always be this way together - this happy. Any good relationship could crumble - but was that reason enough not to take a chance? No. No, it wasn’t.
Kyle pulled back to look deep into my eyes. “Marry me, Kami.”
I giggled. “You’ve already asked.”
“And I’ll ask again,” he grinned, relentless. “Marry me.”
“Yes,” I didn’t have the time to say anything else as he slammed his mouth against mine, kissing me passionately, fiercely. For long moments, I reveled in the complete bliss I felt at such an insane agreement on my part, but no matter how insane, this really did feel right. I pulled back, gasping for air as I stared into his eyes, wrapping my legs tighter around his waist. “But I want to wait a month at least.”
He frowned. “Why so long? We could drive to Calgary today.”
“Uh, no.” I shook my head. “In one month we’ll see where we stand and if we’re still serious about being together then I’ll marry you.”
His voice softened, “I’ll always be serious about marrying you, sweetheart.”
Smiling, I nodded. “Please understand, I just can’t do something so permanent so quickly. We’ll only have known each other for just over three months by the time we get married.” I blew an unsteady breath from between my lips. “That’s quick enough.”
“We could have married within the first week and it still wouldn’t have been quick enough.”
I rolled my eyes. “You need a lesson in patience.”
“Only when it comes to making you mine.” He stated matter of fact, before kissing me again. This time his lips on mine moved slow and leisurely. It was a nice change, but I couldn’t deny the fact that I felt the low burning of desire for him in my core.
Shifting, I rubbed myself against him. “Another month without having you inside me is going to kill me.”
He grinned, “You can change that any time, love.”
“Funny.” I said dryly before wiggling in his arms. “As much as I want to get all hot and heavy with you, I need to eat and get ready for work - and so do you.”
He nodded, “Yeah, yeah.”
Slowly, he placed me back on my feet before returning to his seat at the table. He watched me as he cleared his eggs and toast from his plate. When I was finished, I grabbed his plate and mine from the table before walking them to the dishwasher. Kyle had cooked and it was only fair that I clean.
After I’d finished tidying up the kitchen, I turned to find him watching me with an odd expression on his face. I’d seen him watch me with longing in his eyes - with heat, desire, amusement and more. But I had never seen this. I didn’t know what it meant.
Frowning, I asked. “What are you looking at me like that for?”
“I like watching you.” He stated, his voice sounding gruff. “Watching you clean in my kitchen, wearing only my shirt makes me want to drive you to Calgary so I can make you officially mine.”
“Seriously, Kyle.” I blushed. “I really want to stop focusing on marriage - I just want to be with you and I want to see where it takes us - for a month.”
His eyes darkened. “If that’s what you want.”
“It is.”
“Alright, then.” He stood from the table. “You having a shower?”
I beamed. My eyes darted to the stairs before my body followed my eyes. “Race ya!”
I heard Kyle’s feet pounding quickly on the floor behind me as I took the stairs as quick as I could. He was right behind me - I could feel him - but I knew he wouldn’t grab for me while we were on the stairs.
As soon as I hit the landing, Kyle tackled me and as we tumbled to the floor, he rolled so I fell on top of him. I shrieked, giggling as I tried to pull myself off his chest. Kyle was having none of it. His hands wrapped tight around my waist, holding me to him.
“Kyle, no!” I giggled some more as he heaved himself from his back, rolling our bodies so I was the one with my back pressed into the carpet. “You’re crushing me!” I lied as he covered me with his massive body. His knees parted my legs to fit his body snug against mine.
“I think I’ve won the race.” He purred and I scoffed.
“We haven’t even made it to the shower. Neither of us has won.”
“What are the wagers?”
“Wagers?” I raised a brow, looking up into his dancing eyes.
“What do I get if I make it to the shower first?” He asked and I wiggled beneath him, watching as heat fogged his gaze.
“What do you want?” I asked before adding. “Apart from marriage.”
He smirked. “I want to make our relationship public.”
I gasped. Was I ready for that? “Why?”
“Because I want everyone to know you’re with me.” He said hoarsely and I felt a warmth pulse through my body. “What do you want?”
I wasn’t exactly ready for our relationship to be quite public knowledge yet, so I thought up the best think I could offer him, hoping he would like my offer better and just let me win. “I want to make you come.” This was something he hadn’t really allowed me to do, knowing it was the one thing I wanted that he could use as marriage leverage.
