“
Get off of me, Charles!”
she screamed. Charles swung her over his shoulder and opened the
door, placing her back on her feet.
She jabbed her finger into Charles
chest. “You stupid son of a bitch! Don’t you ever touch me again!”
He shut the door in her face and locked it.
“
Charles, can I ask why in
the hell she was in my apartment to begin with?” He walked over to
the back door and opened it.
“
Sir, she knocked on the
door and when I opened it she barged in here, saying she needed to
talk to you, that it was an emergency. The way she was acting, I
actually thought it was. So I directed her into my room, she only
arrived a few minutes before you and Jen, uh Miss. White, came
home. I’m sorry, I fucked up.” He looked defeated. I wanted to run
and hug him, tell him it was okay, we all make mistakes.
“
I don’t ever want
anybody
in my fucking
apartment again without my permission, Jennifer is the only one
allowed in here without me being here, is that understood Charles?”
He blew smoke out of mouth, trying to calm down.
“
Yes sir.” Charles went
back into his room and closed his door. I felt like he was a kid
who had just got in trouble for drinking underage, I felt so bad
for him.
I walked outside and sat down next to
Stefan who was trying to take deep, calming breaths.
“
Don’t you think you were a
little har-“
“
Don’t, Jennifer. For God’s
sake, don’t. I pay him to be my bodyguard, to protect me and you.
He has a fucking job to do and I will accept nothing less than
perfection. He should’ve called me, warned me, but he didn’t. So
don’t even fucking going there with me, Jennifer.” He blew another
breath out, resting his head between his hands.
I went to rub his back but he nudged
my hand off of his back. “Don’t.” He was mad; I could feel the
energy pulsating through us.
I got up and went back into his
bedroom. I threw on a white t-shirt and crawled into his bed,
breathing in his scent. I wanted so badly to pick up where we had
left off, before blonde bitch walked into the picture, but that
wasn’t about to happen.
I drifted off and soon, my
dreams were saving Stefan from a terrifying monster with blue
eyes
.
Chapter
Seventeen
When I awoke, Stefan was nowhere to be
found. I felt a panic rise up in my throat, wondering where he was.
The panic quickly went away when I heard the shower running. I
looked over at the clock, 8:45am. I got up and went into his
bathroom; it was huge. He was in the shower and had his back turned
to me. I quickly undressed and opened the shower door. He turned
around and half smiled, seeing me. I could tell last night was
fresh on his mind and I didn’t know what else I could do to take
his mind off of it.
I kissed him passionately, letting my
body morph into his, letting the water run down our conjoined
bodies. He ran his hand through my hair, pulling it ever so
lightly. I ran my fingers down his back until I got to his tight
ass and enclosed my fingers around it. I felt him grow hard against
me as we kept kissing, letting our hands explore each other’s
bodies.
He leaned my head back, still holding
onto my hair, and began to kiss my throat, starting out with
sensual kisses and turning into small bites on my neck. He followed
the trail down, kissing in between my breast and then rubbing each
one while flicking my nipples with his tongue. I leaned my head
back and gave in to the sensations coursing through my
body.
He lifted his head back up until our
lips met again. I didn’t stay there for long because it was my turn
to pleasure him. I started kissing down the side of his neck until
I reached his chest. I kept going down to the bottom of his
stomach. He moaned a little when I let my tongue slide over his V
on the lower part of his stomach. My mouth found his shaft and I
took him in with one quick swallow. I heard all the air escape his
lungs.
He wrapped his hand into my hair and
guiding me while I pleasured him. He wasn’t as vocal as I was but I
could tell he was enjoying himself. I let my tongue guide my mouth,
making sure to taste all of him. There was no greater pleasure then
pleasing him.
“
Jennifer…..please….” He
trailed off. I wasn’t sure what he meant, so I went faster and
deeper thinking that’s what he wanted, but he quickly protested. “I
don’t want to come…..stop.” He pulled me back onto my feet so I was
face to face with him. He kissed me again, deep.
He picked me up as I wrapped my legs
around him. He pinned me up against the warm marble wall and thrust
into me. He went in fast and deep, making me moan out.
“
Are you okay?” He asked,
looking into my soul.
“
Yes…” I ran my fingers
through his hair.
“
You are so beautiful,
Jennifer.” He bit my ear lobe sending sparks and vibrations through
my body. He began to find his rhythm and kept a steady pace. I
closed my eyes and let all the sensations run through my
body.
“
Open your eyes baby. Come
with me….” He locked eyes with me. We came together, our emotions
raw, letting the unspoken words fill the room. I could tell he was
still upset and sad; he looked hurt, like he had been beaten. I
still didn’t really know what had happened between him and
Maddelyn, if anything.
We began to rinse each other off,
careful to be gentle after our amazing morning.
“
Stefan, who
is
Maddelyn?”
“
She’s my realtor,” he
snapped back.
I turned around to face him. “She’s
more than that…or at least use to be.”
“
Nothing, Jennifer. Don’t
press it.” He rinsed his body off and turned off the water. Damn,
was he wrong to think I was just going to quit talking about this.
He now had my interest sparked.
“
I think I deserve to
know.”
“
She’s nothing, now drop
it.” He got out of the shower, drying himself off and tossing me
his towel. He left the bathroom, leaving me alone. Sometimes he let
me in to his world and other times I felt like an outsider. I was
getting so frustrated with him.
I quickly dried myself off and went
into his room. He was sitting down on his bed with his jeans on, no
shirt. He had his head in between his hands, breathing. I walked
over and put my arm on his chiseled back. Simply touching him made
me hot and ready for him again.
“
Don’t.” He pulled away
from my touch.
I withdrew my hand at his request.
“What is going on?”
“
Please, go get some
clothes on.” He pointed into his huge walk in closet. I was still
wrapped in a towel and was getting cold.
I walked into his closet and saw my
clothes hanging. I found a pair of light skinny jeans and a red V
neck top. I walked back into the bedroom to find Stefan
gone.
I walked into the living room and he
was sitting on the phone, but quickly hung up when he noticed my
presence.
“
I have to fly to Dallas,
Jennifer. I’m leaving in two hours.” He didn’t look guilty or
displeased with the situation at all but my heart fell when he told
me.
“
Can I go with
you?”
“
I’ll be there for a week
or two; there are some issues with Long Publishing I need to take
care of. You can’t afford to miss that much class with it being so
close to graduation, Jennifer.”
“
Graduation is in a month,
Stefan. Are you planning on coming back before then?” My mouth
suddenly felt like cotton.
What was going
on?
“
I should be, but I just
don’t know. I will try to get this all handled in a timely manner
but I can’t promise anything.”
I felt like he was giving
up on us. Maybe Madelyn was right, maybe I was just a fad,
something he was interested in
for
now
.
I turned around before I allowed the
tears to well up in my eyes and headed for the door. I grabbed my
clutch off the stool and placed my hand on the door knob. Stefan
startled me with his voice.
“
Jennifer, where are you
going?” he asked, calmly. I was anything but calm at this
moment.
“
I’m going home,” I stated
back, displeased.
“
I’ll drive you.” I heard
him walk across the living room. I turned around and met his
gaze.
“
I’d rather you not.” I
wasn’t backing down.
“
Jennifer,
please.”
“
No. I’ll be fine, I’ll see
you when you get back. Well if you ever decide to come back.” I
opened the door.
“
Jennifer, what the hell
are you talking about? Come back in here so we can
talk.”
“
Goodbye Stefan.” I closed
the door behind me and hit the elevator button.
“
Jennifer, wait.” Stefan
came barreling out of his door.
“
What?” I looked over at
him, waiting for an explanation for all of this; something to tell
me I was wrong for feeling the way I was.
“
Let me take you home so I
can explain.”
I agreed and we stepped into the
elevator together. Once we were down in the garage we got into his
Mercedes and started the drive home, silent.
“
Jennifer, please look at
me.” He grabbed my hand.
“
What do you want me to
say? I feel like your ending this, between us. Like maybe Madelyn
was right….” He cut me off.
“
Madelyn isn’t right about
anything, Jennifer. She has no idea what she’s talking about. I
just…” He took a deep breath. “I just feel like I am hurting you
and holding you back and I don’t want to do that. I feel like you
deserve better, I feel like I can’t offer you the emotional love
you need.” I was so shocked by this.
Was
he serious?
“
Stefan, you give me all
the love I need.” I suddenly felt like a murderer on death row,
pleading for my life.
“
Jennifer, don’t lie to
yourself. We are so fucked up, how could this ever work?” That
stung like a thousand bee’s hitting my heart.
I didn’t say anything back. Not
because I wasn’t willing to fight for what we had but because I had
no idea what to say to him. He seemed like he had made his mind up
and once again, here we were, questioning each other, questioning
what we were feeling.
Nothing was said after that. We pulled
up to my house and I saw Kennedy’s car there. I got out before he
could open my door; I just wanted out of that air tight
car.
“
Jennifer.” Stefan hollered
at me.
“
Have fun and be safe,
Stefan.” I could barely see him with my tears masking his features.
I walked in and closed the door, sliding down until my bottom met
the carpet.
I curled my legs up, rested my head on
my knees, and began uncontrollably crying. Kennedy raced down the
stairs and stopped as soon as she saw me.
“
What’d that bastard do
now?” She walked over and kneeled down in front of me.
“
I don’t want to talk.” I
stood and walked upstairs to my room. Kennedy didn’t follow; I was
glad she didn’t, I didn’t want to talk. I found my bed and began
screaming and crying into my pillow.
After a moment I heard my phone
vibrate. I picked it up and looked at the screen,
Stefan.
“
Stupid son of a bitch!” I
threw my phone at my door, causing it to splatter into
pieces.
My world was crashing down around me
at this very moment, and I felt so helpless.
I opened my eyes the next morning and
immediately closed them again; my head was throbbing. I wasn't sure
if it was because of the crying or the realization that I was
alone, again. This is how it always ended up, I always messed it up
in the end.
Even after everything that happened
with my dad, I still felt like it was my fault that he had
abandoned me in the end. I had gone over it in my head probably a
dozen times, trying to figure out what I could've done differently;
how I could've helped my dad instead of cowering behind the couch
or in my room.
