The carol singers boomed out the opening lines of
We Wish You a Merry Christmas
and Bert Threadgold encouraged the audience to join in. But neither Carole or Nick heard them. They were far too busy getting into their own Christmas spirit.

COMING  SOON

A SLIPPERY SLOPE

Love shouldn’t be an uphill struggle

Verity Lawton expects a big surprise from her husband, Tony for her upcoming fortieth birthday but telling her he’s leaving, isn’t what she had in mind. To make matters worse, their daughter, Lucy has landed a job as a chalet girl for the ski season so Verity will be facing her marriage breakdown alone, and that’s not a pleasant prospect.

Twenty-one year old Lucy doesn’t want to leave her heartbroken mum, so when her co-worker drops out, she persuades Verity to take her place. It’ll mean they can have some ‘together time’ in a luxury chalet in the up market ski resort of Meribel, France and Verity will have time to consider her options. Her cooking may be more ‘bleugh!’ than cordon bleu but how difficult can it be to make crème brûlée? She’s about to find out.

But being a chalet girl involves a lot more than sitting by a roaring fire watching snow fall as her employer, Josh Calder tells her – repeatedly. He owns several chalets in the French Alps and expects his staff to be exceptional, not set the kitchen on fire, ignore the rules, take in stray dogs, and snap at him every time he opens his mouth. Verity Lawton has to go. He just has to find a way to tell her and why that is proving to be so difficult, he has no idea.

Verity’s on a slippery slope and when her own mother arrives, she knows things can only get worse. Add to the mix several raucous holidaymakers, two sexy ski instructors, her repentant husband and a mountain rescue dog that clearly doesn’t understand its job description and you’ve got a recipe for more than just upside down cake.

Will things work out for the best or is it all downhill from here?
