Oh yeah, Kyran had been patient, and now time was up. His smile widened. “Come now then, Rys. You just claimed to know my every move. Of course you can tell me what I’m about to do now, can’t you?”

She mutely shook her head as he pinned her in with his hands on either side of her.

Kyran grinned wolfishly. “I’ll give you two hints.”

She didn’t speak.

He leaned in close to her ear, inhaled that sweet, familiar scent and simply whispered, “My palm. Your ass.” He had every opportunity at his disposal currently, seeing as how the building was cleared out and it was just the two of them. This was going to be fun; very, very fun.

Ryssa’s hand went to the knob, her pulse pounding furiously. She had every intention of yanking the door open and hauling ass back to the safety of her office, but before she could even reach it, Kyran gripped her wrist and pulled her toward him with enough force that she lost balance. He took advantage of that and scooped her up in a fireman’s carry and started for his office chair.

          “Kyran Micah Alexander!”

“Yes, Maryssa Ann Williams?” He sounded amused, and she didn’t like that
at all.

“You put me down right now!”

“No can do, baby. You and I have some things that we need to get straight.” He sat down and pulled her across his lap.

          “Kyran...”

          “Shush,” he said.

          “Did you just
shush
me?”

“Yes, now quiet. I’m trying to think of the best way to go about this.”

Ryssa froze at that statement. He sounded calm, too calm. “Go about what?”

Kyran just chuckled. “I was serious when I said I was gonna tan your ass, baby. Now how do you want it done? Short quick smacks? Or long hard ones?”

“I swear before all Heaven and Hell, Kyran, that if you—” Ryssa stopped her statement when cool air hit the cheeks of her ass after he’d lifted her skirt.

Kyran gave a low growl as he ran his hand over both globes. “Have you been wearing shit like this under your clothes all these years?” he questioned, tugging at one side of her thong.

          “Kyran, let me up.”

Smack!

“Ow!”

“That one was for that little fit you threw over my card earlier instead of kissing me and saying ‘thank you.’”

          “What—”

Smack!

“Dammit, Kyran, quit it!” She wiggled but he held her fast.

“That was for deciding you were gonna group me in with that asshole Malcolm.”

“Kyran, I mean it—”

Smack!

“That one was for not accepting my dinner offer despite the fact that we both know you want to more than anything.”

          “You arrogant son of a—”

Smack!

“That’s for making me so hard that if I touch your ass one more time I might explode in my pants.”

          “You’re insane! You know that?!”

          “Yup.”

Smack!

“And that is for acting like you’re not enjoying this when I know you’re so wet that this pour excuse for underwear you have on is now the equivalent of a paper towel in a tub of water.”

          “I. Hate. You.” Ryssa growled.

          “I know, baby. I know.”

          “Can I get up now?”

“Sure.” Kyran easily lifted her and put her on his desktop.

Glaring, she went to pull down her skirt over her now sore ass cheeks, but he grabbed her hands. “Unh-unh. Keep it right there.”

          “You’ve lost your damn mind.”

He wasn’t looking at her. Those brown eyes were focused between her thighs. Ryssa’s face burned and she tried to close her legs, but he held them open. “Nope, not gonna let you do that either. I’m going to let you do one thing and one thing only.”

She rolled her eyes. “And what would that be, ye old pervert?”

“Come.” Then he tugged her thong to the side and dove in face first. Ryssa was so shocked that her legs locked around his head, but that did nothing but encourage him, his lips wrapping around her clit and sucking.

          “Kyran!”

          She tasted
so
good, too damn good; like every sweet thing Kyran had ever had on his tongue, but better. God, she tasted so much better. When her hips rolled forward with a sharp cry, he did his best not to get up and pound his chest, but damn was she making it hard. Needy little whimpers left the back of her throat as her hands made their way from his desk to play in his hair.

Kyran danced a slow figure-eight around the sensitive bundle of nerves peeking from her womanly folds and then flicked his tongue, once, twice. He left it alone, heard her hard pant as he licked from her clit to her opening and tunneled inside, fucking her with his tongue as furiously as he’d do with his cock later.

“Oh...shit...ahhh...”

Kyran stopped as soon as she began to ride his face and reached upward to open her blouse. The lacy cups of her bra came into view, chocolate-shaded nipples poking through the fabric. Kyran pulled the cups down and took one nipple into his mouth as he thrust two fingers inside her.

“Oh. My. God!” was the last thing Ryssa said before she climaxed good and hard. Kyran took her mouth, let her taste herself on his tongue as he swallowed her cries.

When she was spent and done he fixed her clothes, picked her up from the desk and walked to his door. She watched him through dazed eyes, and he gave a soft smile before kissing her on the forehead and saying, “Dinner is at eight sharp. My place.” Then he closed the door in her face and made his way back to his desk. He had some planning to do

Chapter Two

“Wait, wait, wait,” Ryssa’s little sister Becca interrupted from the other side of the phone line. “You’re telling me this is the
first
time he’s done that?”

Ryssa slammed on the brakes of her Porsche, not quite leaving the parking lot of her and Kyran’s office building. “What do you mean the
first...
damn right it’s the
first
time!”

“Hmmph. I thought it’d be at least...I dunno, the hundredth.”

“Why in the hell would you think that?”

“Have you ever stopped to notice the way that man looks at you? The first time I met him I just
knew
he was fucking you bow-legged.”

“I...” Ryssa rubbed a hand down her face and pulled off again. She was determined to find a good liquor store and get as much as she could. “What is wrong with you?”

“What’s wrong with
me
?” Becca scoffed. “What’s wrong with
you
? That man just gave you the best face ride of your life and you’re speeding off like Mario Andretti, yet
I’m
the one with mental problems?”

“Did you just say ‘face ride’? Like, seriously?”

“That’s what it was and we both know it was damn good, so explain to me why you’re running like Chicken Little?”

“Because that was my
best friend
who just...just...”

“Go ahead, say ‘face ride.’”

“No!”

“Say it!”

“I am
not...”

“Face ride, face ride, face ride!” Becca chanted.

“I hate you!”

“You love me!”

“Because it’s in the Bible! I’m being made to! Like not stealing or killing!”

“Just admit it! You
want
Kyran!”

“Do not!”

“Do so!”

“You’re such a liar!”

“And you’re psychotic!”

Becca didn’t say anything for a second, and then she blurted out, “He’s not Malcolm, Ryssa.”

She parked her car and headed into one of the small wine markets in the shopping center. “What is this, point-out-the-obvious day?”

“No, it’s Valentine’s Day, and you’re supposed to be spending it with the man you love,” her sister answered.

Ryssa snorted. “One day shouldn’t define how much you love a person.”

“No, but it can define how far you’d go for them. Think about it, Rys. You let one man make you hate a whole day every year. You gave him too much power.”

This time she spoke through clenched teeth. “No, I gave him my heart and he threw it back in my face like I was nothing. Call it what it is, Becca. He broke my heart and he didn’t give a shit when I was left to pick up the pieces.”

“Because you had someone there to
help
you pick up the pieces. You think Malcolm was that blind?”

Ryssa stopped in the middle of an aisle. “Blind to what?”

“How much Kyran loves you. You think he couldn’t see it with his own eyes? That he didn’t have to face it anytime Kyran came around?”

“Wait, are you saying it’s
my
fault he cheated?”

“No, I’m saying everybody seems to be aware of what Kyran feels
but
you, the one person he needs to see it the most. So if his method is getting your ankles up to your ears and screwing some sense into you, then I’m all for it; I’ll even get a t-shirt made that says ‘Team Kyran.’”

She was all prepared to give a smart-ass response when she heard, “Maryssa? Is that you?”

Blood pounded in her ears as her heart dropped then flipped. Ever so slowly, she turned around to come to face to face with her ex-husband.

“Becca,” She spoke as calmly as possible as he smiled gently at her. “I’m gonna call you back.”

Her sister tried to say something else, but she hung up. He stepped closer, and she automatically took a step back. Malcolm’s smile slipped a little, but he held onto it. “It’s been a while, huh?”

Ryssa gripped the strap to her bag, took in Malcolm’s appearance. In the last few years he’d aged considerably; he had more laugh lines and wasn’t in as good as shape as he used to be. Was that a bald spot? “What are you doing in L.A.?  I...I thought you moved to Vegas.”
