Not paying attention to what was going on around her and enjoying the company, she was startled when a hand landed on her shoulder. “Don’t move,” the voice said.

Rachel frantically waved to Craig, who came immediately to Sadie’s side.

“Can I help you?” he asked.

“Official business, DEA,” the voice said.

By now Evan had noticed the commotion around Sadie and was working his way across the crowded club. He caught Dave’s attention and Dave followed.

The man leaned down and whispered in Sadie’s ear. “I know you have it, where is it?”

Sadie couldn’t believe the nerve of the man to come and confront her in the club full of people. How did he get in anyway?

Dave and Evan walked up, nodding to Craig that they would take it from here. Dave walked up to the stranger and said, “I’m Ms. Sanders’s fiancé, how may I help you?”

“Dick Anderson, DEA. We have information that a package was delivered to Ms. Sanders’s condo by mistake about seven weeks ago, I need to know the whereabouts of that package. From our intel its contents are very valuable and it is very dangerous for Ms. Sanders to have it in her possession,” the man said as he stood up straighter and flashed a badge in front of Dave’s face.

Evan had come to stand on Sadie’s other side and put a protective arm around her. Who did this asshole think he was anyway? Evan would find out how he got in the club, you can bet on that.

Dave straightened to his full height towered over the small man. “I think this is better discussed in my office. Follow me please.” He grabbed Sadie’s hand and pulling her behind him strutted to his office, not looking to see if Evan or the supposed DEA agent were following him.

When he got to his office he pulled Sadie in front of him and pushed her into the space. “Have a seat, we’ll be in in a few, baby. I’ll take care of this,” he said as he leaned down and gave her a reassuring kiss.

Blocking the door and shutting it, he turned to the DEA agent and Evan. Looking at Evan he said, not caring if the agent heard him or not, “Check him out, find out how he got in and report back.”

Evan smiled and, pulling his phone out of his pocket, starting making calls as he walked toward the club entrance. Theresa was at reception tonight and he was going to find out how the jerk had gotten in the club.

After talking to Theresa and finding out that the jerk had bullied his way into the club, pulling his badge and rank on the poor girl, he did a quick search or his phone and called his contact from the DEA. Finding out that the guy did in fact work for the DEA, but was not an agent and was not assigned to this case, set up an alarm for Evan.

Not waiting until he could reach Dave’s office, he dialed Dave’s number. As he was walking up, he was explaining the situation on the phone.

Chapter Fourteen

After putting Sadie in his office, Dave turned to the supposed DEA agent. The man tried to shoulder his way past Dave. “I must speak with Ms. Sanders alone. You are interfering in a federal investigation and I could bring you up on charges, now out of my way,” he said, trying to shove Dave out of the way. Dave was a good six inches taller and fifty pounds heavier than the man, so he wasn’t getting far, and all the threats in the world would not move Dave.

Dave’s phone rang and seeing it was Evan, he took the call. Evan gave him the information he had obtained and acknowledging the info, Dave disconnected the call. The entire time Dave was on the phone the little agent sputtered and raved at Dave.

Puffing his chest out, he closed the space between them and got as close to Dave as he dared. Shaking a finger at Dave, he raved, “I must see Ms. Sanders alone. You are interfering in a federal investigation. I’ll have this club closed and you perverts brought up on charges. Now move aside.”

By now Evan had walked up and was standing behind the man with his arms crossed over his chest watching and trying not to laugh. The man had a lot of nerve to shake his finger at Dave.

Dave looked down at the little man and simply said, “No.”

“No,” he sputtered. “What do you mean no? I am a federal agent and you will move!” He once again tried to bulldoze his way through Dave.

Once again Dave looked at the man and said, “No!” Dave was having fun playing with the man, but the time for games was over.

“Mr. Anderson, we have spoken to your supervisor and are aware that you are not
an agent, and that you are not assigned to this case. As far as having the club closed, I don’t think so. Can you explain to us exactly why you are here?” Dave stood a little taller and crossed his arms over his chest, a very imposing figure.

“That’s all irrelevant, I must speak with Ms. Sanders,” he said, and once again tried to push his way past Dave.

Evan came up behind the man and looking down at him asked, “Why is it so important that you speak with her?”

“The package was delivered to her house by mistake and if I don’t get it they will kill me. I promised them I would get it. That idiot I hired to kidnap her didn’t find out anything, and I must have that package. Get out of my way!”

“Wait!” Dave yelled. “You had Sadie and me kidnapped?” He was furious now.

“You weren’t supposed to be there. It was just supposed to be the woman, and I need that package. Now out of my way!” The little twerp still didn’t have the sense to back down.

Dave and Evan each grabbed the man by an arm and dragged him down the hall to an empty office. Sitting him in a chair, they both sat on the desk and crossed their arms. “Okay, you little jerk, tell us what’s going on.”

“You can’t treat me this way. I’m a DEA agent,” he blustered.

“No you are not. You are a paper pusher. I talked to your supervisor, who is a friend of mine, and you have no authority on this or any other case. Alan Rainer is on his way over here now and you not only no longer have a job, you are probably going to face some jail time. Now, tell us what is going on,” Evan said as he stared the man down.

Giving up, the man took a deep breath and said, “About seven weeks ago a package was supposed to be delivered that contained a shipment the dealers were waiting for. The person who was supposed to receive it was not at the condo. The delivery man took it next door and Ms. Sanders accepted it. That package was worth two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. I was contacted by one of the bosses and given ten thousand dollars to find the package and get it back to them.”

“How did they know to contact you?” Dave asked.

“The person who contacted me is an old friend from school and knew I worked for the DEA,” Dick answered, letting out a sigh.

“So…you took the money and blew it, and now they want you to pay up,” Evan said.

“That’s about it. But you have no proof of any of this and I will deny it all,” Dick blustered.

Dave pulled out his phone and showed Dick where he had hit the record button and recorded the entire conversation.

“That’s no proof of anything,” Dick whined. The little man had balls, Dave thought.

Evan’s phone buzzed and he looked at Dave. “That’s Alan at the front. I’ll go get him and bring him back here.”

He stopped to check on Sadie on his way to the front, and she was nervously pacing the room. Reassuring her as best as he could quickly, he continued on his mission. Taking Alan back to the room where Dave was holding Dick, they explained what had happened and what Dick had admitted, playing the recording for Alan.

Sadie sat in Dave’s office, wondering what was going on. At first she could hear voices outside the door, but after a while they moved away. She paced back and forth wondering what was going on. Evan had come in and talked to her for a minute, but now he was gone too.

She tried the door and it wasn’t locked, so she opened it and walked out into the hall. Hearing voices coming from one of the offices, she went to that door. It was slightly ajar so she could hear the conversation coming from within.

Standing outside the door, she heard Evan and Dave explain to the new man what had happened. Hearing that the little twerp was on the one who had had her and Dave kidnapped, she burst in the door. “You almost had both of us killed, you little asshole. Who the fuck do you think you are?” she screamed and went for Dick’s face, claws out.

Dick shrunk back in his chair. “Keep that bitch away from me,” he screamed.

Dave quickly grabbed her and pulled her to sit between Evan and himself.

“Let me at him, I’ll show the little fucker. I’ll claw his eyes out! He got you hurt, let me at him!” Sadie screamed, looking at Dave.

“Calm down, baby, calm down. This is Alan, Dick’s supervisor. We’re all going to talk about this.” Dave had taken Sadie in his arms and was restraining her to keep her away from Dick.

Sadie relaxed into Dave’s embrace, but was still seething. She wanted to pay the little jerk back for the blow Dave had suffered and all the stress he had put them all through.

Evan took Sadie over to the couch in the room and sat on one end with her in the middle. Dave placed chairs for Alan and Dick in front of the couch and sat on the other side of Sadie, indicating that Alan and Dick should also sit.

“Sadie, do you remember receiving a package a few weeks ago?” Evan asked.

“Yes, it was for next door, and they weren’t home. I kept it a couple days then took it over to them,” she answered.

“Do you remember what the person you gave it to looked like?” Dave asked.

“It was a woman, short bright pink hair, tall, skinny, young.”

“Good girl.” Dave praised her. “That will be very helpful.”

Alan made note of the information and made a couple phone calls. “We will check on this. I have the police coming to take care of Dick. He will be arrested for his part in the kidnapping and for impersonating a federal agent. I’m sorry for all the trouble that has been caused. Ms. Sanders, please accept our apology. The information you have given me tonight will help significantly in our investigation. The woman you’ve described has been a major player in all this. I feel we’ve made a lot of progress tonight.” He stood and shook all their hands.

Evan’s phone rang and after taking the call, he announced, “The police are here, Theresa is bringing them back.”

The police took Dick Anderson away and Evan, Dave and Sadie went to the bar with Alan. They all needed a drink.

The club was winding down for the night. Sadie had missed Connie’s demo, and was pissed about it. She went over and talked to Rachel, letting the three men talk. Connie came up and joined them and the girls made plans for lunch and shopping one day.

The club emptied out and Sadie’s men took her back to Dave’s suite and once again fucked her into the night.

Chapter Fifteen

The next few days were quiet. With the new information the DEA was making progress on the case and the condo next to Sadie’s was soon empty. Sadie wanted to go home, but Dave and Evan weren’t sure it was safe, and they didn’t want to let her go.

Sadie’s life was good. The men had let her go back to work and she had a little more freedom. It looked like the threat was over.

Dave wanted to make it permanent with Sadie, but hadn’t worked up the courage to ask her yet. He and Evan had talked about it and were going to ask her soon.

A couple weeks had passed and Connie was once again in town. Dave and Evan took the girls for lunch and shopping, and although it wasn’t as much fun with the men along, they had a good time.

As they walked into the club, laughing and joking, a tall, willowy blonde ran up to Dave and threw her arms around him. Dropping to her knees, she said, “Master, I’ve missed you so, please forgive this slave.”

“Oh fuck!” Evan said quietly.

Rachel and Connie quickly walked to the bar where their men were waiting.

“Petal,” Dave said in a shocked voice. The woman stood up and, wrapping her arms around Dave, pulled him down in a passionate kiss.

Sadie dropped her packages and ran for the back of the club. Her car was outside and since they had just come back from shopping, she had her purse and keys. She jumped into her car and sped off. Evan stood at the door watching, not fast enough to catch her.

Sadie didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to go to her condo, they would find her there and it was empty anyway. The DEA had moved out when the dealers beside her moved. She hadn’t had her things taken out of storage yet. She pulled into a parking lot and sat and cried for what seemed like hours.

Everything had been so perfect. She was happy and had thought her men were happy too. What was she going to do?

She grabbed her phone and called her older sister Alice. Alice always knew what to do. After explaining what had happened to her sister she felt better. Alice invited her to stay a few days, but not wanting to be a burden, she declined.

Her next call was to her best friend, Jenna. Jenna and Sadie were very close and had always been there for each other. They had been friends for fifteen years and had seen each other through a lot. Jenna invited her over and Sadie went.

Kyle, Jenna’s husband, was good friends with Dave, but he was out of town for a few days, and with Jenna being several months pregnant, Sadie could help her until he got home.

Sadie holed up in Jenna’s spare room and cried. She had so many calls from Dave and Evan that she finally shut her phone off. She couldn’t listen to any of the messages. It may not be fair to Evan, but she couldn’t deal with either of them right now.

She couldn’t believe that Petal, Dave’s former slave had walked back into his life. How could she compete with that? Petal was beautiful. Tall, thin, poised, graceful, and willing to be a slave, everything Sadie was not.

Sadie spent a lot of time holed up in Jenna’s spare room. After a couple of days, Jenna walked into Sadie’s room one afternoon. “We need to talk,” she told Sadie. “So tell me what happened. I gave you a few days to settle down, now we need to work this shit out. You can’t stay holed up in here forever. Kyle will be home tomorrow and my ass is going to be red from not telling him you were here and what was going on. If I’m going to get punished for you it had better be good.” She laughed.
