“Alright girls let’s save this conversation until tomorrow when we’re stuck on the bus. You guys are running out of time. We need to take a nap before tonight and Madison needs some time with Avery. Trevor make sure she makes it back over to your bus and find her somewhere to lay her head. She’s going to need it after she hits the club with you all later. Have the roadies stow away whatever car she’s in before we move on up the coast. We roll out at six tomorrow morning. Our first interview stop is in Charlotte tomorrow night. Then we have the next day off before moving on up to Wilmington for the interview Wednesday afternoon. Let’s get moving so we can all make our way out together. I want to make sure the roadies have some down time after our little mishap last night,” I said moving towards the stadium door.

Without another word the six of us made our way out the arena and into the parking lot. It didn’t take long before the reporters started yelling questions and the photographers started snapping pics that would no doubt be plastered all over one of the social media sites within the hour with some made up headline. I couldn’t wait to get this tour over with and back to California for some much needed down time. Right before we left on tour six months ago we had all just purchased a fairly large beach house that was still in need of unpacking and decorating. When we bought the house we all made sure that there was enough room to grow, not because we knew I had a baby coming but not knowing how things would pan out for Avery and Hunter after a visit home. We weren’t kidding when we told Avery that she would always have a place with us. As much as I wanted her and Hunter with us, I’m hoping things will work out between Avery and Braxton. That girl can say what she wants but I know she is still completely over heels in love with that man and Hunter deserves to get to know his father. I’m not sure how long Avery can give him half answers about where his daddy is. Hunter knows who is father is but isn’t really sold on why his daddy hasn’t been to see him. Avery goes as far as sending fictitious emails and gifts to him from Braxton and members of her family. She said she never wanted him to feel unloved. I just hope that Hunter doesn’t get hurt when all the truth comes out.

I was deep in thought when I heard Trevor speak. “We’ll see you in the am. I’ll make sure Avery and Madison make it over to your bus when we get back. Not sure if I’ll be crashing there too or not.”

“Whatever Trevor. You know it’s not an issue. Just no gawking at my man when he gets up in the morning. I know Ben is hard to resist when he’s walking around with no shirt on but your little looks and lewd comments still get him riled up,” I said with a little giggle to the only other one, other than my sister, that has been with me since I decided freshmen year that I was going to be a metal queen one day.

“Oh come on Layla. You’re no fun. A little looking never hurt anyone,” he said laughing at me.

“Hold on a minute! Why the hell would Trevor be looking and making comments at someone named Ben. Last time I checked Ben was a dude’s name. What am I missing here,” Madison asked?

I busted out laughing. My girl has no clue. This just gets better and better. Before I could say a word Demi’s bluntness filled the air. “Girlfriend Trevor likes dick! He’s had the hots for Ben ever since he came to us as a bodyguard a few years ago,” Demi said thru a fit of laughter.

“OH SHIT! I had no idea. Here I was thinking you would be my little fling while I was here. I guess I called that wrong,” Madison said with her face blushing deep shades of red.

I couldn’t say anything else. I just shook my head and waved to the bunch of wanna be laughing hyenas as I walked away. Madison was definitely going to fit in with this group. Let’s just hope she doesn’t turn into a cunt when she learns about Hunter. As I made it to the bus door I sent up a prayer that things worked themselves out when the news breaks. I really am pulling for love to conquer all. Only time would tell.

Chapter
3

Axle

I disconnected the call without even saying goodbye to Avery. I had too much going on at the moment to let it affect me. She would be home soon and we’re going to hash this shit out between us once and for all. Right now though I had bigger fish to fry. Zeus looked like he was about to flip his shit and I can’t say I blamed him. I mean when a man comes home thinking he’s going to be curling up next to his woman after a long fucked up day only to find her and his sister missing, even the strongest of men were bound to crack. I heard Zeus snap at Blaze for staring at him. “What,” Zeus yelled?

"Nothing man. Just waiting to see how deep of a fucking hole you’re gonna wear in the floor," Blaze said harshly.

"I can't help it. I'm going fucking nuts here. I just fucking got her man, I can't fucking loose her. Brookes is dead.... Madison's apartment fucked up... The shit with Yasmin... Wall's been fucking shot... The old heads dropped all kinds of heavy.... My sister and my woman are fucking missing.... I'm losing my fucking mind. None of this shit is making sense," Zeus snapped back frantically.

"Pull your shit together. You’re not any fucking good to them or to the rest of us when you’re all hyped up on anger. Calm the fuck down and think. Think about anything that has seen off since you've been around," Blaze yelled at Zeus just as I shoved the phone in my pocket.

"I'm good man. It's the not knowing where the fuck my woman is that’s driving me fucking crazy. Someone is fucking with us and their too much of a fucking coward to face us. Instead they want to act like a bunch of bitches and prey on fucking women."

I rushed forward spinning Zeus around and slammed him up against the wall. "Zeus you need to slow your fucking roll. We will find the girls and put an end to everyone who is involved with this master plan of revenge." Before I could finish Happy came rushing in the room.

"Boss you need to come out here. I think we found something,'" Happy shouted through the back door. Like lighting I let go of Zeus’ shirt and ran out the door with him and Blaze right behind me. We followed Throttle out to the garage where the door to Athena's truck was wide open. At first glance everything looked neat and tidy as always, then Throttle shone a flash light on the rear passenger window. It looked like one of the girls was trying to write something using lip gloss or chap stick. I watched as Zeus moved closer noticing the letters Z Y J. All the brothers stood still deep in thought. All of us running shit through our heads when suddenly Happy spoke.

"Z for Zeke, Y for Yasmin and J for Jewels," Happy declared.

"The names fit but the shit doesn't make any sense. What would those three have to do with this shit. Zeke has only been prospecting for a few weeks. Yasmin and Jewels have been around for a few years. They only know what we want them to know. What could they have to gain from any of this," I said to no one in particular.

Just then my phone went off interrupting the quiet of the garage. "Speak," is the only thing I said to my father who was on the other end of the phone. “Oh I’m going to speak to you when all this calms down fucker but now is not the time. Ghost just found Diamond in a bad way while taking a walk around the compound. I came out to get Ghost when Blaze called about the girls being missing. Apparently Yasmin and Jewels did a number on her and left her for dead out by the cabins. She didn’t get to say a whole lot before she passed out but it looks like the two girls were working with Zeke and from what she was trying to say they have Carrin and Athena. You might want to get over here and listen to her yourself.”

Without explanation I turned and headed straight for my bike leaving the rest of the brothers to follow suit. We all tore down the path leading back over to the clubhouse at high speeds. We parked the bikes haphazardly in no certain order. Followed by my brothers I stormed through the front door. I went straight behind the bar snatching a bottle of Jack and took a nice long swig before addressing everyone.

"Happy's suspicions were right. Zeke, Yasmin and Jewels are in on this shit. In a few minutes I'm going back to the infirmary to talk to Diamond. She was attacked tonight and left for dead behind cabin three. Ghost found her while out taking a walk when he couldn't sleep. Boomer had run out to find him when Blaze's call came through about the girls missing. They didn't get much out of her just that those three had something to do with this shit."

"What the bloody hell? How the fuck did we let not one but three fucking enemies invade our club," Tank screamed losing his normal calm?

"I don't know but, I'm going to fucking find out. You all start digging in on that shit from the past. Prospects get some strong fucking coffee brewing; it's going to be a long fucking day! No one leaves this fucking building without my permission!"

I stormed down the hall way towards the make shift infirmary in search of Diamond. As I made my way in the door I saw Momma Bear sitting beside the bed to the left. I glanced over only to find my best friend still as a board.

Avery

When I got back to the bus I quickly showered leaving my long blonde hair down to air dry with a little product to keep it from frizzing. With a little light make up and a change of clothes I was ready for the show. Which gave me about three hours with Madison before I had to be back at the stadium. The door to the bus opened as I was digging my shoes out from the closet I shared with Hunter and Trevor. The laughter echoing thru the door let me know that Madison had managed to win Trevor over. I figured that once the two spent time together they would get along just fine.

With shoes in hand I made my way towards the front of the bus. Trevor was rummaging through the fridge while Madison sat on the couch shouting out reasons why there was no way Trevor was gay. “You are too good looking to be gay. It’s a slap to the ego of every female in the world dude,” Madison said to a now smirking Trevor.

“I know right. Would you believe me if I told you my looks are the reason why it’s so hard to find a good guy? It’s like they either want me for the night or they just want me around for arm candy to show off. Fucking Men,” Trevor said bewildered.

“Trevor, I hate to break it to you but if you were straight I’m sure you’d have the same issues with women wanting you for just the same things. Bitches are cruel, bud,” Madison replied. I needed to interrupt before this conversation evolved into something that was going to keep me from getting to the bottom of Madison’s appearance. It wasn’t the time for the opposite sex similarities conversation. It was time to talk with my friend and help piece her back together.

“As much as I would love to hear this explained by both parties I have to intervene. My stalker and I need to have a heart to heart,” I said grabbing both of their attention.

“Good God you look hot girl. I see I’ll be beating them off with a stick tonight sweet cheeks,” Trevor told me with a wink.

“Yeah Avery, what Trevor said. If you’re going out in that I may go change again. I feel a little inadequate at the moment. Not sure my choice of ripped jeans and concert tee can compete with the corset, tight jeans and hooker heels your sporting,” Madison added with a grin on her face.

“Awe thanks guys but neither of you have to change. This is just my stage attire for the evening. I’ll be changing again after the show then we can coordinate all the hotness. I’m sure I’ve got something you can throw on to go clubbing with us later Madison.”

“Hot damn! I think I should have run the hell away months ago. You have no idea how much I appreciate this woman,” Madison said with a true smile on her face.

“Well now that I’m changed let’s get into why you’re here exactly,” I looked at Trevor before saying the next part, “would you like Trevor to leave?”

“I don’t want to kick him out of his space but not sure I should divulge some of the shit I’ve gotta say in front of someone I just met,” Madison answered.

“No worries ladies. I’ll head over to Layla’s bus and hang for a bit. I’ll kick back with Ben and the Xbox for a while,” Trev said looking straight at me.

I know he wanted and needed sleep but this was his way of putting me at ease. He was going over to Layla’s to check on Hunter for me. He’d stay with him until it was time to head out tonight. He really was my rock.

“Alright but don’t be making your lewd comments. Ben is going to kill you one of these days, dude.” Ben would never hurt Trevor but it wasn’t for lack of threats. Trevor has been with Layla and Cali since high school. All three of them had a rough time growing up until music brought them together. They’ve been inseparable ever since. Trevor watched over both of them for years before Ben came along. Ben will always have respect for Trevor for that.

“I promise to be on my best behavior sweet cheeks,” he said with a kiss he blew me from the door of the bus.

“That right there is Karma. That’s one fine piece of a male specimen and he was put on this earth for other men to worship. That shits just not fair Avery. Not fair at all,” Madison says while watching Trevor’s ass across the parking lot.

“Yeah, I’ve always thought the same thing girl. Enough bout Trevor. I don’t have a whole lot of time before I’ll half to cut you off, so let’s get on with why you’re here babe. What takes you pulling one of my numbers and disappearing into the night?”

“Way to put me on the spot girl. Shit, I don’t even know where to begin. You know how intense it always was between Jacoby and me. Over the last two years it’s just gotten worse. Not to mention my over protective fucking family. Lord knows when Beau gets home in a few months that’s only going to get worse. Brendan might be my youngest brother but over the last few years he’s been the only one that doesn’t treat me as an invalid,” Madison rambled off.

“Okay woman. One thing at a time. Start with the easy shit first and then work your way to the breaking point,” I tell her.

“That’s just it; there’s nothing easy anymore. I feel like I’m suffocating. My family is never going to loosen up when it comes to me. It’s so bad that I’m sneaking online classes trying to get a degree. I’m almost finished with everything I can take online but still have five classes that I have to be in a classroom to get my associates in business. Every time I mention college Jacoby, Braxton or my father flips the fuck out. I need protection, I can’t be away from the office that long, what do you need a degree for or NO is all I hear from those fucking men.”

“Honey you’ve got to do what makes you happy. If going to school is a dream of yours then you need to do it. They’ll either have someone tag along with you every day or continue to bitch. It’s your choice not theirs. What does Momma Bear have to say about it? I can’t see her going along with the men.”

Madison remained quiet for a few moments before confessing. “I haven’t told her. I know she would support me in any way possible but I don’t want to drag her in this bullshit.”

“Maybe you should start with her babe. You’ve got to stand up for yourself. Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams. You told me that once and look at me. I’ve got the life I’ve always wanted,” I lied a bit on the last part. I’ve got everything but the man I love.

“Yeah, I can give good advice every once and a while. It’s just hard for me to follow my own advice. Carrin is the only other one other than you that knows I’m taking classes. She’s threaten to castrate her brother and mine too if they don’t back off.”

“Maybe you should let her. They’ve got to listen to someone eventually. No better way to get two of the biggest man whores around to pay attention then ripping their balls off,” I say to her before noticing she was on the verge of tears. What the fuck did I say wrong? This girl doesn’t cry. What the hell is she not telling me?

“Madison honey what’s wrong? Did I say something to upset you?”

In between sobs she replied, “no it’s not what you said. It’s the truth smacking me in the face. I’m in love with the biggest man whore known to man and he doesn’t have a fucking clue.”

I wasn’t sure what to say to her. God knows I have no business giving relationship advice to anyone. Looking at her now though I can see myself five years before. I can relate. Maybe it’s time to shed a little light on that.

“Madison I know how you feel. I’m still pining away for your brother. He is the only one who has ever touched me as a lover. I’ve been gone for almost five years now and still can’t bring myself to think about anyone else. He’s on my mind constantly. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t want to race home to him, but I can’t. We wanted different things and probably still do. He would never let me chase my love of music and I would never ask him the give up the club. I love him too much to even suggest such a thing. That and I don’t think he was exactly faithful to me. I still can’t get the picture of Diamond hanging all over him out of my head. That’s another story of its own though. The point I’m trying to make is you need to do what’s best for you dear. Don’t let anyone steer you away from your dreams. I know Wall loves you, babe, but he’s still at a point in his life where the party never ends. Maybe some time away from him might help. Take off and go to college for a semester or two. Put some space between the two of you and your family. You never know, it might be what brings you and Wall together. At least you’ll have a chance for freedom and get that degree you want.”

“You’re right. I’ll look into it before I get back. Maybe I can get into Florida state to finish up. I can crash on baby Brendan’s couch. It might make it easier to sell if I’ve got someone with me,” Madison said with determination.
