Harry didn’t waste another moment. He pushed against Daniel
and his hole gave way easily, as if he’d been waiting for that cock. And he
had. Harry slid inside with a smooth glide that had both men groaning. God,
Daniel loved it. Loved the feel of a cock inside him, filling him. He’d never
tire of it. He closed his eyes and bit his lip, refusing to admit that the fact
that it was Harry’s cock made it so much sweeter, sharper…better. Better than
any cock he’d ever had.

He wrapped his hands around Harry’s biceps, which were
bulging under Harry’s weight. His legs were spread wide around those arms and
he jerked his hips as best as he could, trying to fuck Harry, but Harry just
laughed in that deliciously dark way he seemed to have discovered in America.
He leaned down, pinning Daniel tighter to the bed, spreading his legs more,
exposing him mercilessly to Harry’s will. He reveled in the release it gave
him, to let Harry have complete control.

Harry didn’t disappoint. He pulled out and pushed back in
with a firm, confident glide that made Daniel tremble. No other man had fucked
him with such assurance, not even Barnabas. Harry knew just what Daniel needed
and gave it to him. His entire body shivered at the feel of his cock moving in
and out, each stroke harder, deeper and more demanding. Daniel fought his hold,
trying to move, but Harry was relentless and held him down. When Harry’s cock
finally reached that sensitive spot inside him, fire raced up his spine and he
cried out.

At his cry Harry pressed deep and released his legs. With a
desperation born of need Daniel roughly wrapped his arms around Harry’s broad
shoulders and clutched him closer. He planted his feet firmly on the bed and
jerked his hips up in an effort to get Harry to move again, to fuck him so hard
and deep again. Harry shoved his hands under and around Daniel’s shoulders, and
by the tight grip of his hands Daniel knew he was going to get what he wanted.
He braced himself.

Harry’s first thrust was exploratory. Daniel jerked up
against his hold and Harry adjusted his hands, holding him more firmly. Then he
thrust harder. Daniel moaned and moved his hands from Harry’s shoulders to his
arse. He tugged hard and tilted his hips and cried out when Harry hit that spot
again. “I like that,” Harry said in a voice rough with breathlessness and
desire. “Cry out for me.” He fucked in and out roughly then, without cease, and
Daniel lost track of his responses, wasn’t sure if he was crying out or saying
things he shouldn’t. He didn’t care. He just wanted that cock, Harry’s cock, to
keep fucking him like this forever. It was madness, and he didn’t care.

The night became nothing more than their two bodies
connecting, thrust and parry, advance and retreat. The low growls and harsh
cries of both men filled the air, the scent of musk, linen, sweat and sex
surrounding them. It was base and animalistic and Daniel was a shivering mess
of a man as he begged for more. Harry had his face buried in Daniel’s shoulder
and when he bit and sucked on his neck Daniel arched to give him more room. He
wanted to be consumed by this passion tonight. He didn’t want to have to deal
with the morning, but rather burn it away with this fuck.

Harry’s hand pushed between them and he took Daniel’s cock
in his fist. “No,” Daniel said weakly, knowing that he would come now if Harry
did that.

“Yes,” Harry hissed against his neck. “I need to come in
you, and I want to feel your come all over us when I do.”

Daniel groaned at Harry’s words, his arse clutching at
Harry, wanting to feel his come there. Harry worked his cock expertly, gripping
him tightly and pulling until Daniel’s hips jerked up to follow the warm cocoon
of his fist, forcing Harry’s cock deeper inside him until he was dizzy with the
two joint pleasures. His head was spinning and he didn’t know up from down,
night from day, right from wrong. All he knew was Harry’s fist and Harry’s cock
and the need to come.

He cried out as his climax hit him hard, and Harry’s mouth
slammed down on his, swallowing his pleasure as he’d swallowed his come
earlier. The tip of his erupting cock was pressed against Harry’s stomach.
Harry grunted and jerked above him and heat filled his arse, making him cry out
again into Harry’s mouth and thrust hard against him. Harry pumped into him as
he came and he felt how slick his strokes became, until come slithered down his
crease to his back and he couldn’t stop trembling in Harry’s arms as his cock
and his tongue fucked him senseless.

Chapter Eighteen

When Harry awoke he pulled Daniel in closer, loving the feel
of his bare backside pressed against his groin. He rubbed against that hot,
soft skin and rose on his elbow to kiss Daniel’s shoulder. It tasted so good he
worked his way up Daniel’s neck until he was nuzzling that tender, irresistible
spot behind his ear. Daniel had hardly moved a muscle except to burrow farther
into the bed, hugging a pillow to his chest.

“The sun is coming up,” Daniel said in a neutral tone that
had all of Harry’s warning bells ringing. He pulled back slowly, one last rub
of his nose along the nape of his neck.

“Yes it is,” he answered, keeping his voice neutral as well.
One thing he had learned over the last few days was that Daniel did not like
overly emotional scenes. He didn’t want him to run again.

Daniel threw back the cover and rose from the bed, not
acknowledging Harry’s caresses or showing any reluctance to get the hell out of
there. He picked up his clothes and pulled them on, calm as could be. Harry
stayed where he was, leaning on one elbow, and watched him. He could see his
marks on Daniel, on his hips and shoulders and neck. He was satisfied with
them. No one would have him today without knowing Harry had had him last night.
But what he really wanted to do was pull Daniel back into bed and demand he
stop pretending indifference. Last night had proved it a lie. Daniel had come alive
in his arms, had cried out for him and come for him. Why the pretense now? He
followed Daniel’s progress across the room, sitting up so as not to lose sight
of him.

Daniel turned and looked at him and flinched. Harry mentally
kicked himself and reached over to grab his eye patch. He vaguely remembered
pulling it off before he’d gone to sleep. It was uncomfortable to sleep in.

“No,” Daniel said quickly. Harry stopped. “It doesn’t bother
me. You don’t have to wear it if you don’t wish.”

Harry turned back to him, oddly stung by his words. “It
doesn’t matter?”

“No,” Daniel said impatiently. “I mean, it matters, of
course, in the sense that I wish it hadn’t happened to you.” He took a deep
breath. “I’m sorry.”

Harry gave him a quizzical look. “What for?”

“For not being there to prevent it,” Daniel said, and his
words were so ridiculous Harry had to laugh. Daniel’s brow furrowed and he
started to turn.

“You mean you’re sorry that I ran away and hid from my
obligations and responsibilities and that, while bumbling through the
wilderness like an idiot, got in a fight with a Pawnee half a world away and
lost an eye before I had the sense to gut him with my knife?”

“Well, when you put it that way, I suppose I’m not,” Daniel
snapped.

“Good. Because God knows I don’t blame you, and I’m
relatively sure the rest of the world doesn’t either.”

“Fine.” Daniel paused. “I would prefer if you keep this
incident between us confidential.” He walked to the door. “Goodbye.”

At that Harry jumped out of bed and raced over to the door,
bracing one arm across it while he leaned his back on it, blocking Daniel’s
exit. “What does that mean?” he asked calmly. Keep your calm, he kept saying to
himself. Don’t scare him away again.

“It means that this will not happen again,” Daniel said. Harry’s
heartbeat raced at the finality of those words.

“Why?”

“Because it was a moment of weakness when I gave in to your
seduction,” Daniel said. “I am not often weak.”

“You came to me. I did not entice you here under false
pretenses.” Harry tried to make it an observation, rather than argumentative.

“No, you didn’t. And I am not leaving under them.” He gave Harry
a hard look. “I can’t do this again, Harry. I won’t. You know that.”

“I don’t know anything of the kind,” Harry replied, leaning
on his arm nonchalantly, as if he weren’t desperately trying to hold on to the
most important thing he’d ever had. “I thought you wouldn’t last night, and you
came.”

“It would humiliate me,” Daniel said, the raw truth in his
words belying his calm demeanor. “I won’t show that sort of weakness to the
world.”

Harry didn’t know what that meant, exactly, but it was
easily circumvented. He leaned over and whispered in Daniel’s ear, his lips
touching the sensitive edge so that Daniel shivered, “We’ll keep it a secret,
you and I.” He slid his hand up Daniel’s arm and cupped the back of his neck,
pulling him closer. Daniel braced his hands on Harry’s stomach, which tightened
in response as if it were a wickedly erotic thing to be held at bay. “No one
needs to know how I please you here.” He licked along the edge of Daniel’s ear
and the other man’s breathing broke slightly, enough to let Harry know he was
getting to him. “I can fuck you, do whatever you want, and no one needs to know
but you and I.” He dipped his tongue into Daniel’s ear, making love to the whorls
there as Daniel panted. “It doesn’t have to mean anything. The only one
surrendering is me,” he whispered, his voice breaking with pent-up desire. He
wrapped both arms around Daniel and pulled hard until he broke Daniel’s resistance
and he fell against Harry’s chest. Harry immediately opened his legs and pulled
Daniel’s hips into his so that Daniel could feel how hard he was. “It can be all
about this,” he whispered against Daniel’s mouth, rubbing and thrusting. Daniel
opened his mouth and Harry kissed him, fucking his mouth in rhythm with their
hips. Daniel’s arms slid up around his neck and he thrust back, his cock as
hard as Harry’s, bumping and grinding until sounds of frustration came from
both of them.

They broke the kiss and Daniel unexpectedly shoved against
Harry’s chest, breaking his hold. They stared at one another, panting, Daniel’s
need blatantly exposed by his clenching jaw and sharpened cheekbones. His eyes
roved Harry, stopping on his hard prick. He stared until Harry couldn’t help
but jerk his hips, as if he was fucking that look. A drop of liquid seeped from
the tip and Daniel licked the corner of his mouth, making Harry groan. The
smile Daniel gave him was hard and mocking.

“It doesn’t mean anything,” he said. “You’re right. I told
you once a fuck is a fuck. You happen to be a good fuck. Don’t fool yourself
that it’s more than that.” He stepped right up in front of Harry, holding his
stare, until Harry slid to the side, exposing the door. Daniel opened it and left
without looking at Harry again.

“Absolutely not,” Daniel said firmly, and Harry silently
agreed. “I refuse to go to dinner at Tarrant’s and be put on display like a
sideshow at the fair.” Daniel was looking fit and fine this morning, not a hint
of last evening’s activities about him other than an elaborately tied cravat
that covered almost all of his neck. Harry couldn’t help smiling every time he
looked at it and imagined the love bite under it.

“What on earth are you talking about?” Christy said, tossing
her napkin down on the table. They were at breakfast, he, Daniel, Christy and
Simon. The latter two seemed to be on very chummy terms this morning, which
Harry was encouraging. Perhaps she’d made her choice. Harry was wise enough to
recognize two people who had shagged one another, and those two had definitely
done it. For some odd reason his reaction seemed to annoy Daniel greatly.

“I am talking about the fact that they all want to gawk at
Harry and pry into our business.”

“That would make me the sideshow, then,” Harry said. “And I
object, as well. Other than Kensington, I’m not expecting a welcome reception
from Daniel’s friends, if Simon is any indication.”

“I only tried to hit you once, and that was more for Christy
than for Daniel,” Simon protested. “Although I agree, they do want to gawk. To
be fair, you are a bit of a spectacle.”

“Thank you,” Harry said wryly, taking a bite of steak. He
was quite getting used to these meals at Daniel’s. Truth be told he didn’t want
to go to dinner because he didn’t want to miss it here.

“I want to go,” Christy said stubbornly. Harry and Daniel
looked at her in surprise, but Simon took her strange new confidence in stride.
“I haven’t left this house, as beautiful and welcoming as it is,” she said to
Daniel, “in weeks. I’d like to meet Daniel and Simon’s friends, wouldn’t you,
Harry?” she asked beseechingly.

Well, when she looked at you like that and made you feel as
if saying no would be the equivalent of kicking a puppy, what else was a man to
say? “Yes,” he relented.

“Coward,” Daniel said under his breath. “Fine. Then you
three go. I shall stay at home this evening.”

Harry leaned back in his chair and gave Daniel a challenging
smile. “Now who’s being the coward? Why are you so afraid of your friends’
scrutiny? Have you something to hide?” Images from the night before ran through
his mind. Daniel had come to him last night. The intimacies they’d shared had
been both scorching and tender. He didn’t plan to waste the encounter. On the
contrary, it had spurred him to accelerate his plans for Daniel’s ultimate
surrender. It wouldn’t be long, and he’d be Harry’s again.

“I have a great deal to hide,” Daniel said. “And after one
dinner with my friends you’ll see why.”

“Meaning?” he asked, amused.

“Meaning they are all a bunch of troublesome busybodies who
feel it is their duty to interfere in a man’s life until he does exactly what
they want.”

“Funny,” Simon said with a thoughtful look. “That’s what
they say about you, too.”

Harry choked on his laughter.

“Oh yes, laugh,” Daniel told him, shaking a finger in his
direction. “But you’ll see. They have something planned tonight, I guarantee
it. And it will be uncomfortable for all of us and end in bloodshed.”

“Bloodshed?” Harry asked incredulously. “Now you jest.”

“Actually, he doesn’t,” Simon said with a sad shake of his
head. “They all have an uncanny ability for getting into trouble. It’s really
quite annoying. We’ve had our share of rescuing damsels in distress and killing
villains these last few years.” He stopped speaking and looked at Christy in
dawning horror, as if realizing what he’d just confessed.

Christy looked unfazed. “Have you? Well, since you’re both
still sitting here eating breakfast I can only assume you’re rather good at it.
So chin up and all that. I’m sure you can weather a dinner party. After all,
how bad can it be? We shall all be going and we shall leave at seven,
promptly.” She glared at Daniel. “Do I make myself clear?”

He glared back. “Yes.”

“Good.” She stood up. “Now I’m going to take a nap. I’m exhausted.”
She rested her hand on her stomach. “This baby business can be quite tiring.”

Simon looked alarmed. “My God, you’re all right, aren’t
you?”

She waved a hand at him and gave a little snort. “Of course
I’m all right. I’m just tired. Never you mind. Matheson,” she spoke to the
butler. “Please send a note to Mrs. Tarrant accepting her invitation.” She
left, shaking her head.

“I should throttle you,” Daniel said between clenched teeth.

“Why?” Simon asked with exaggerated innocence.

“She’s married,” Daniel said sharply.

“Don’t mind me,” Harry said, going back to his steak.

“I do mind you,” Daniel said, rounding on him. “Are you
trying to foist your wife off on another man?”

“Yes,” Harry said unrepentantly. “One who shags her properly
and she has an eye for. I think she deserves at least that much, don’t you? She
certainly doesn’t deserve me.”

“Hear, hear,” Simon said. “But don’t look to me, old man.
I’m not the marrying kind.”

“Then you better not be the shagging kind either,” Harry
said mildly. “That would earn you a bullet. Or a knife. Whatever’s handy.”

“You’re going to fit in just fine at dinner tonight,” Simon
with a huff. “No worries there.”
