“I will go with you.” Her own words seemed to surprise her.

He embraced her and then lifted her into his arms.

She squealed while he carried her to the door. “Duncan, what are you doing?”

“Not giving you the chance to run away or change your mind.”

He tapped his foot on the doors and Charles opened them and said, “Ready?”

Lily gasped. “Charles, how did you know?”

He grinned as they all walked towards the front door. “I knew you could never refuse this handsome devil.”

Lily was helped down from the carriage and walked into the small chapel. Eleanor was there with Andrew and little Henry. She saw a few other friends along with Simon, Dot and other members of Duncan’s household staff.

She looked wide-eyed at Duncan. “Confident?”

“I knew an angel would always try to save the devil.”

“Hmmm.” She grinned and saw Eleanor rush towards her. “Lily, come with me, I have a dress for you if you want to change.”

Within moments, Lily stood at the end of the aisle. Sunlight coming through the stained glass windows cast vivid colors of light on everyone there. Lily smiled as she was walking down the aisle towards her handsome devil and she felt like she was in Heaven. The love surrounding her and Duncan was palpable as they said their solemn vows. All her fears subsided as she and Duncan turned, hand-in-hand, now husband and wife.
