Getting back to their room they
went off to bed and a well earned rest. Angels dreams that night was not very
restful and twice in the night he awoke. He still felt they were not through
the worst just yet. Tomorrow they must check the spell for the Renegade will
have had two days to work on the old spell.
But that was not the reason he
was restless, there was something else and he had bad feelings for the days to come.
The Renegades had lost twenty wizards today and that was something you don’t
throw away. Someone or something is willing to throw away wizards just to hide
what they were trying to do to the old spell.
If he was willing to open such a
large portal knowing it would take that much out of the wizards they would be
unable to control their dragons. With that the wizards could not make their
dragons move and so they died. They would do it again and soon while we were
still recovering form this attack.
Angel tried to go back to sleep
and get away from these dreams; Aura was there in the back ground as she was
having the same problems. Sleep was still along way away and he just tried to
relax. He knew he would just have to wait till it came.
The next day Gavrie had wizards
making the changes to the lances they had spare. It would take them a few days
to convert all the lances they had here but they should have all the spare ones
finished by the end of the day. Angel and his friends were helping with the
conversions and they enjoyed doing this as it gave them time to look at the
spell and see if there was anything else they could get out of it.
After lunch Gavrie called them
over and told them Dragon Riders would be here this afternoon late. ‘Your
mother and brothers will be with four other Dragon Riders. When we explained
what happened your mother was the first to want to come as well as your
brothers.’ He smiled as he told them who was coming for he could see Angels
face lit up when he heard.
‘Will they be staying long or do
they have to get back quick?’ There was an edge of joy in his voice as he
asked.
‘It depends on the time they
arrive for if they are here early they will probably go but if they get here
late then they will stay till the next day. So we’ll just have to wait and
see.’ He could see the longing, in Angels face and hoped they get here late.
They headed back out to the cave
to help with the lances until Tish arrived with Rho and Etha. The rest of the
day dragged on and it was late when the wizard in the tower yelled Dragon
Riders. As soon as he heard that call he was out of the cave like a shot. In
the air above he could see the Dragon Riders descend to the next deck where
they were going to leave their dragons for the night.
Angel and his friends ran to the
next deck door to wait for his mother to come through. It was not long when she
walked through the door and found Angel flying into his mother. She could see
that he was pleased to see her.
‘You will be staying tonight, you
won’t go till tomorrow will you?’ There was a pleading look in his face as she
looked down at him.
Looking at Angel she could tell
they had a hard couple of days and he needed her to be here tonight. She could
also see his friends were hoping they would stay as well. She had been thinking
of getting the new lances back but seeing the look on their faces she decided
to stay.
‘We will be staying till the
morning will that make you happy and we will stay with you in your rooms. Rho
and Etha enjoyed the stay last time and so I think they will this time. Now
come on I must go and see Gavrie and will meet you all back in the meal hall
for the meal, OK?’ She pushed them forward as she let them know her plans.
After the meal they went back to
their room and sat on the cushions and talked for a long time. Tish did not
stop them for they needed to releases the build up of pressure that the battle
with the Creatures had on them.
It was getting late so Tish put
an end to the talking and pushed them all off to bed. With all their talking
and the pressure release, she was pretty sure they would sleep solid tonight.
As they went to bed she could see the spring in their steps that was not there
when they came up to the room.
It was early the next morning
when Aura came into his mind and called to him. Angel was in a very deep sleep
for the last few nights his sleep had been disturbed but this last night with
his mother and brothers here he slept like a log.
‘Angel you need to wake up now,
the creatures are going to attack again, now you must wake up?’ Auras voice was
starting to get panicky and was about to yell it to him when he come through
the sleepiness in his head.
‘What did you say?’ What Aura had
said was starting to penetrate his sleep fogged brain.
‘The Renegades dragon called to
tell us he comes and there are more Renegade Wizards going to open another
portal. He tells us this time the wizards riding dragons is carrying a wizard
as well as themselves. They are going to open another large one and keep it as
long as they can before they get their dragons and wizards out of there.’ There
was deep concern in her voice as she conveyed this to him.
‘When will they get here?’ He was
hoping they might have some time to get ready.
‘The dragon tells us, the first
group with the extra Renegade Wizards have left ahead of them and are probably
almost at the same place as the portal opened yesterday, they will almost be
ready to open the portal soon.’ Aura finished talking as Angel was up out of
bed.
Angel realized he did not have much
time to worn Gavrie but just maybe with the Dragon Riders here and with the new
lances they might be able to stop them before to many Creatures get through.
Angel walked over to Medwin and gave him a light tap to wake him up.
‘Medwin the Renegades are coming
again and are opening the portal again in the same place. I am going to worn
the Headmaster and he may get the Dragon Riders here to go and stop them before
too many Creatures get through. ‘He was heading out the door as he finished. He
had no worry on waking his brothers as he knows how they sleep.
Angel was out the door and up to
Gavrie’s room and banging on it very loudly. Gavrie came to the door and
indicated for Angel to come in. ‘What’s wrong?’
‘The Renegade wizards are at this
moment getting ready to open another portal the same size as the one yesterday.
This time there are other wizards with them so they can get away. Send the
Dragon Riders up over the mountain and with the new lances they should be able
to stop them from letting too many Creatures in.’ There was almost a panic in
his voice as he told Gavrie.
Gavrie looked into his eyes and
could see the deep fear that was there but hidden well. He turned and with a
wave of his hand set the warning bell going, they were going to need as much time
as they could to get ready. He must get Tish to take the new lances and go up
over the mountain and try stopping them keeping the portal open until they were
ready.
Gavrie looked at Angel and sent
him back to his room but as Angel turned to leave he spoke. ‘Don’t tell my
mother where the information comes from as she might worry?’ He then turned and
headed back to his room, knowing the time was almost here to face the Renegade
wizard. He just hoped they were ready.
Gavrie had everyone down in the
hall where the warning alarm sends everyone. As he entered Tish entered behind
him with the other Dragon Riders following. He went to the front and called for
quite. He looked around at all the tried wizards and student wizards.
They have had a bad couple of
days with the attacks and only just survived them, thanks to Angels little
group. Now they were about to face them again and he is not sure how many this
time. Now he had to tell them they were going to have to go through it all
again.
‘They will come again and very
soon but we have a chance to stop them here now. The Dragon Riders will go up
and over the mountain while a group of wizards will move around the mountain in
the travel bubbles. We move now, GO.’ Gavrie moved down the middle of the isle
and out with Dragon Riders following.
Angel moved out with the rest of
the wizards, moving onto the deck where he was just in time to see his mother
and brothers lifting of. The wizards that were going around the mountain were
casting their spells to form their travelling bubbles. The rest would get ready
to face what creatures would get through.
The quickest way for the wizards
was to go around the school end of the mountain and through the valleys to
where Angel had told Gavrie the portal was being opened. The Dragon Riders
would be the first there and would have to hold out till the wizards arrived.
Gavrie was staying here to run
the battle that would be sure to come, as he was not hopeful the Dragon Riders
could keep the Renegade wizards from opening it. Until the wizards arrived they
would have to hold as long as they can. Now he needed to talk a little with
Angel and his friends.
Angel was standing by the mountain
wall with his friends as Gavrie stood back and watched. He just could not see
what they were doing just standing there with their hands touching the wall.
They seamed as though they were a million miles away, they were up to
something.
Gavrie gave them a little longer
before he moved over to them. He stood behind them and waited, they never even
heard him come up behind them so he just waited. It was a little longer before
they started to register what was around them. As he was about to speak, he
heard Angel say, it’s still ok so we are lucky at the moment.
As he heard Angel speak they
turned and registered surprise at Gavrie standing right behind them.
‘Headmaster we never heard you come up, we were just relaxing with a few
exercises.’
He looked at them and could see
they were not telling the truth, but he did not pull them up on that. He did
not speak but just looked at them, he felt they were holding things back and he
would like to know what they were hiding from him, but how does he get them to
tell him.
‘Angel how did you know the
Renegades were over the mountain opening another portal?’ He wanted them to
tell him but he was sure they would not until they were ready.
‘We are not yet ready and when we
are you will be first to know, please trust us for now?’ Angel just stood and
looked at Gavrie waiting and hoping he does not force the issue.
Gavrie wanted to trust them yet
the situation calls for answers that at the moment Angel and his friends seam
to know. But if he forced them to tell him he would loose their trust and he
knew they were very special and he needed to build them up.
‘Ok Angel I will trust you will
tell me when it becomes necessary and I hope it will be soon for I believe time
might be running out with the attacks getting bigger all the time. Please don’t
leave it too late?’ he looked at them one more time and walked away just
hopping he had made the right choice.
Angel watched him walking back to
the school, thinking to himself if he had done the right thing. Can we stop
this Renegade that wants to destroy the old spell holding Nirvana. We must be
right; he must have faith in our little group. We will do this, (looking at his
friends as he thought about what they have to do.)
Angel looked up the mountain face
and could not see the Dragon Riders anymore; they were up over the mountain and
heading for the Renegades. Soon they will know what will happen as they should
be almost at the area. After Aura had told Angel of the Renegades coming they
had gone up to see where they were. They were going to keep watch.
‘Aura, are the Dragon Riders
there yet?’ Angel waited for Aura to let him know and he hoped they would be
there on time to stop them.
‘I can see them coming down now and
they will be there very soon. The Renegades have almost got the portal open, so
you will get some creatures. The Dragon Riders are almost there and are
starting to open fire with the lances.’ Aura was giving them a running talk on
the battle as it starts.
‘The Dragon Riders are trying not
to hit the dragons and are aiming for the Renegade wizards. The portal is
opening now and the creatures are pouring through, wait the portal is closing
again. One of the Renegades has been hit and he is one of those that control
the portal.’ Aura paused as she moved down to see a bit easier.
‘How close are the Dragon Riders
now and can you see any sign of the wizards in their bubbles?’ As he finished
talking to Aura he quickly spoke to Maive.
‘Can you let Gavrie know there
will be creatures on the way?’ He immediately went back to listening to Aura.
Maive ran to where Gavrie was
sorting out the students. She came running up to him and spoke into his ear, as
she did not want the students to hear what she was telling him. Gavrie nodded
his head and sent Maive back, looking over at were Angel and the rest were.
Gavrie quickly yelled that
creatures would be here very soon, as he finished there were students running
all over the place. Now it all starts again I just hope our wizards get there
to help the Dragon Riders before they get overwhelmed.
Angel was listening to Aura again
as Maive ran back to their little group. Aura was back to giving a running
commentary to Angel. Aura could feel the worry in him and knew it was for his
mother and brother. ‘They are ok and are holding their own. The Renegades
holding and controlling the dragons are the only ones fighting. So they don’t
have to worry to much with the dragons fighting against them the Dragon Riders
are starting to get close enough they can aim better at the Renegades.’ She was
quite for a little as she watched the battle unfold.
