CHAPTER FOUR

Again and again he pounded into her soft, sexy body, and when he felt her hands on his ass as she tried to direct the movement that would get her where she needed to be, he took one of his hands to pull down her bra leaving her pert nipple open to the air and his gaze. Fresh raspberries had always made his mouth water. Just thinking about that sweet with a touch of sour taste did it to him every time so it was no wonder her nipples did too. Leaning down to take it into his mouth, he was stopped because she cupped her breast and lifted it like she was offering it to him. Why that was sexy he didn’t know, but he latched on to her and sucked like he’d never wanted to let go, maybe because he didn’t. He pumped and rutted on her like he’d never believe was possible and the bitch of it was he couldn’t stop it. Couldn’t. Stop. It. That had fucking never happened to him, in his life. It felt like his seed was gathering and preparing to shoot out like a cannon. This wasn’t something he was happy or proud about; he was a man who kept his cool in all situations, but this one five foot, five inch woman was making him lose it.

The noise that left his mouth as his sperm exited his body didn’t even sound human, but he couldn’t stop that shit either. He was gripping her inner thigh with one hand and her tit with the other, and as he came down from his life altering orgasm he wasn’t sure what to think about any of this. He knew she’d come because he’d heard her right before his calm broke, but she wasn’t making any noise now, and he feared he’d hurt her.

“Are you okay?” He whispered, not sure he wanted to hear the answer that would be returned. He was used to hurting people. It was sometimes his job but not like this. He didn’t hurt women ever unless you counted the women who thought he was joking when he said he didn’t do long term and they didn’t believe him.

She hadn’t answered, and he withdrew from her body only thinking to get them both cleaned up so they could get out of there and he could try to get them back to the happy space they were in before they’d come to Enchanted Evening.

He was pulled down on top of her so fast he lost his balance and practically squished her.

“What are you doing?” He was trying to look at her face, but she was so busy covering his with soft wet kisses it was hard to see anything. She was like a new puppy, and although he’d never been with a woman who covered him with kisses, apparently, he liked that too.

“I don’t think you’ve ever done that before,” she said with her bright eyes.

He kissed her mouth quickly before he got up from the floor and then helped her up. It was almost dawn according to the room. The orange and pink light glowed all over Natalie’s skin making her look more fuckable now than she was when he was actually fucking her. This insistent need to find, fill, and fuck her didn’t seem to be going away. What was going on with him when it came to her? Damned if he knew.

“What?” He handed her the warm cleaning towels that were on the table in a warmer and then he got busy cleaning himself and putting his clothes back on. Jack hoped she’d not go where he thought she was going to go with her line of comments.

“Let yourself go.”

Of course she went right to the place he didn’t really want to talk about and comment on it. That wasn’t his finest moment, but from the way she was acting, it must have meant something to her, and that took some of the sting away from the disappointment he had in himself over his outburst.

They were dressed and ready to head back to his place. He enjoyed her staying with him even though they rarely slept in the bed at the same time. After working his nights making sure his guys had enough product to service the community, cracking a few heads if need be and other odds jobs, he’d come home, take a shower, and wake his sleeping beauty for round one of whatever type of sex he was in the mood for. Then he’d take her home and wait for her to get ready for work and drop her off at her destination. After that he could get a few hours of sleep or do things with his mother before picking Natalie up and taking her somewhere far away for a date or bringing her back to his place to eat and have rounds 2 through she got tired enough to go to sleep. He’d try to catch a few zzz’s with her before going back to work for the night.

It was a rough schedule trying to keep everyone happy, but for once in his life he was doing something that was making him happy as well. How long he could continue at this pace? He wasn’t sure, but worrying about it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.

Walking out into the sunshine, it was hard for his eyes to adjust. He probably should have taken the dark glasses they offered with the mint, but he didn’t want those throwaway glasses. When he looked over at Natalie, he noticed she appeared to be a bit stressed. How the hell did that happen when he’d just done his best to relax her?

“What’s up?” He asked as he opened her door and helped her inside.

She sat down and looked all around. “Are you saying you don’t feel that?”

“What?” He knew she looked serious, but he didn’t know.

“There is someone watching us. I can feel it.”

He could tell that she was serious, so he tried to make sure she knew he was paying attention to what she was talking about even though he’d scanned the area when he’d come out like he always did and didn’t see anything out of order.

They sat in the car for a few minutes and he held her hand while he did a slow scan of the area. He was feeling a little like someone could be watching them, but in all honesty he was just getting freaked out by Natalie.

“I will make sure that I keep a closer eye on things, but right now I don’t see anything.” He knew he sounded like he was trying to pacify her, and that was probably because he was. She was so frightened he just wanted to make sure she was okay. She nodded at his words, and they took off for his place.

Pulling out onto the road he watched for cars that were around and could start following him but nothing happened. After a few minutes and some miles away from the restaurant, Natalie seemed to settle down a little.

“You think I’m crazy, don’t you?” She asked as she looked out the window. He couldn’t see her face, but he could imagine it was bright pink with embarrassment.

“No. I think you feel like someone is watching you.”

“Someone was watching us.”

“Do you think they saw us in the restaurant? You don’t have to worry about that. Enchanted Evening has an iron clad agreement to protect your privacy and what you do in there. No one is going to know what happened on our date under the stars.”

“I wasn’t worried about that. I just wonder why someone is watching us in the first place.” She looked over at him, and although she looked slightly more comfortable, he could tell she didn’t think he believed her. “It’s not ridiculous that someone could be following us. I admit I have been concerned about the criminal element of your job and fear that somehow it will creep into my life.”

He could only shrug. That fear was something he understood. No matter how much he thought it was a bit irrational, he was glad that she was thinking about it. Most people just thought about the money and not the other baggage that went with it.

She giggled and he wondered if she’d finally cracked.

“I’m just being paranoid. Don’t mind me. I’m going to try to think rationally and calm myself down before I get all worked up.”

“Just because I didn’t see anything this time, it doesn’t mean you should let your guard down. This life can make you crazy… I’ve seen it happen. There is a need to be aware of your surroundings and what’s going on with the people near you, so although I don’t want you terrified, a small amount of fear wouldn’t hurt.”

CHAPTER FIVE

Natalie was tired.

She thought about what Jack had said before he left for his 24 hour shift that he’d told her was coming up, but she hated that it was now.

“I’ve got a good friend coming to take you to work in the morning and pick you up from work.”

“I can get around by myself. I promise. You are looking at a fully grown woman.”

He growled in her ear, and that sexy sound ended in a chuckle. “I am quite aware of that fact, but thanks for letting me know. I just want to make sure you’re safe. Loud Mouth Billy will be here at six, so make sure you’re ready. He thinks you’re my cousin, so don’t say anything to make him think otherwise. We call him Loud Mouth for short.”

“Right because Loud Mouth is so much easier than saying Billy.”

Jack looked at her with an expression that said he didn’t really appreciate the jokes and he’d been a bit uptight for the last week, so he probably wouldn’t have minded her changing her tune just a bit, but for some reason she was angry too. “I got it, Captain,” she said with a mock salute. “This is the deep undercover mission.”

“Right.” He looked so weary she wanted to take back the sarcastic bite of her tone, but it was too late for that.

She looked around her mostly empty shop and knew why she had been dragging all day. It was because she’d slept in the empty bed of Jack’s all alone and the way she had twisted and turned all night she’d have thought it was the first time that had happened. For one thing someone had changed the sheets, so she couldn’t smell him as much and the other thing she just couldn’t put her finger on. Jack’s friend Avery, better known as Loud Mouth as the patch on his jacket indicated, was a quiet gentle bear of a man. She chuckled to herself now thinking of the oxymoron they’d given the man to be called daily. He’d barely spoken 17 words while in her presence, but he let her know what time he’d come take her home.

She’d tried to tell him that she was fine going home by herself, but he wouldn’t hear of it. “I promised Stormy I’d do it, so I will.” The large man had said, and she figured why fight it. So here she stood in her floral shop waiting for him when she could have been half way home. She hoped nothing had happened to the man, because he was 45 minutes late.

Gathering up her stuff, she shut down the shop and gathered her things. She was planning on having a quiet night since this was the first time she would be alone in a while. Thinking about missing Jack wasn’t an option. Natalie was going to enjoy herself if it killed her. She had one of her favorite wines chilling in the refrigerator; it was a gift to herself a few months back when she’d beaten her own financial record for the month, but she’d never opened it. Tonight was the night for being happy and celebrating her life.

The shop door opened and a medium sized man walked in. At first glance there wasn’t anything remarkable about him but he did have on a different kind of motorcycle jacket; it read The Reapers.

The man walked over to her with a smile on his face, but the way her stomach lurched, you’d have thought he’d threatened her.

“Natalie. Right?” The man said coming closer to her.

“Yes, I’m Natalie. Can I help you with something?” Her mind was whirling with questions. Why did this man know her name? Who were the Reapers? Why was her stomach turning into a big knot?

“There was a problem with the guy who was supposed to pick you up. Loud Mouth asked me to take you home.”

Something about this didn’t sound right. “That’s alright. I was going to go out with a few friends on my way home, so I guess it’s a good thing that guy didn’t come.”

“We want to make sure you’re safe and sound so we can tell the big boss all about it.” The man had a twitch in his eye, and she didn’t know if that was from guilt of if that was just his nature. Either way, it didn’t inspire a lot of confidence on her part.

Natalie didn’t know what to say to that. She knew that Jack worked with a seedy lot of characters, but if he’d sent this one her way she had to believe he was safe. The man scared her somehow and it was probably because she felt like he was really trying not to.

“Alright then, let me lock up.” She went to the back to grab her purse and thought to shoot off a quick text to Jack.

Jack: Your new friend from The Reapers came to pick me up. I hope everything is okay with Loud Mouth.

“What are you doing?” The man’s voice behind her sounded a bit agitated. She hoped the man wasn’t on the stuff he was selling. From what she knew about people with addictions, they could be temperamental and unreasonable. The hitch in this man’s voice made her think he was getting upset.

“I was just telling Jack that I hoped Loud Mouth was okay.” She put her phone in her purse only to be spun around and pushed against the wall.

“What the fuck did you do that for?” The man’s pitch grew even higher, and he looked like he wanted to hit her. Something definitely wasn’t right. Gone was the polite gentle man who was striving to get her to be comfortable in his presence. The beast had been awaken with the thought of her sending a text message to Jack apparently. She didn’t even know what to say to that because it didn’t seem as if any answer would be a good one.

“Are you ready to go?” He growled as he stared down at her like she’d done something evil.

“On second thought, I think I’ll just get a bit more work done here. I’ll call a cab later.” She didn’t want to go anywhere with this guy who was trying hard to be friendly one minute and irrationally angry the next. He seemed dangerous.

“Come on, lady. I don’t have time for this.” He grabbed her purse and threw it across the room. “You’re coming with me. I don’t want to have to hurt you, but I will.”

Natalie felt like her eyes were going to pop out of her sockets and sucked in much needed oxygen; she hadn’t even realized she was holding her breath.

“There are people who are waiting for me, so this really isn’t a good idea.” She tried to think of anything that would stop him from taking her wherever he was planning to take her.

The man reached into his pocket, got out a walkie talkie, and pressed the button. “Come to the back.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you,” she told him as he put his device down.

“You’re going where we are taking you. It’s always the nice ones that fuck up the most. You were supposed to just get in the car and come with us. No muss, no fuss, but you had to fuck it all up.”

Listening to his ranting and raving, all she could think was
Shit, he knew about the back door?
Natalie was trying to think frantically on how to get out of this when she decided to fight for her lift. He had his hand on her arm and she yanked away quickly while she stepped on his foot.

“You bitch,” he said when he reached her. Because he was bent over a bit, she kneed him in the face and saw blood squirt out of his nose. She almost had him, but the sight of blood made her a bit queasy and she stopped for a second. The last thought she had before she saw the floor coming up to meet her very quickly was
I should not have stopped hitting him. I was winning.

*****

Opening her eyes, Natalie was confused as to where she was. The dingy room appeared somewhat clean, but it was a concrete room, and the furniture that was in the room had seen better days. Where was she? That shouldn’t be a question that took so much thought, but her mind just couldn’t seem to focus and her head really hurt.

“Oh good. You didn’t kill her.” A female voice came from the other side of the room, and Natalie knew she’d never heard that voice before.
Think… think
. Then it all came back to her… the scruffy man who went ballistic on her when she’d texted Jack, the fighting and the blood squirting in thick streams, the floor coming up to meet her… all of it. Terrified. That is what she was, because she didn’t know why anyone would do this to a little old nobody like herself.

She wasn’t going to sit here and accept her fate; she jackknifed up in the bed and then she found they’d cuffed her to the bed by one hand and the opposite leg. Try as she might, she couldn’t free herself. The chains clanking against the metal framed bed was loud to her ears, and it made her head throb, but if she could get out of there, it would be worth it.

“There, there pretty lady,” said the woman who had been on the other side of the room. “My  name is Cheryl, and I’ve been waiting for you to wake up. Sometimes our guys can be such brutes.”

Natalie looked up at the woman who smelled like she’d not bathed in a few weeks. Her oily hair and made up face made her think she may be a prostitute, but Natalie wasn’t going to judge. She hoped the woman would be an ally and help her escape this place. For now, she was going to keep her mouth shut and hopefully someone would clue her in as to what was going on.

The woman sat on the bed she was tied to and stroked her hair. This wasn’t the kind of comfort Natalie was looking for, but the stench of the woman forced her to look around at her surroundings. The bed was against the wall, and there was a camera set up on a tripod a few feet from them. What the hell was going on here? It was like she was in a bad action flick, and while she’d admit she loved them on the screen, being the star in her own private horror show was terrifying.

“Don’t worry,” Cheryl cooed as she turned Natalie’s face toward her, “we’re only taking a little video so your boyfriend will know we’ve got you.”

Natalie tried very hard to school her face into a blank mask but the chuckle she got from the woman in return made her doubt her efforts had worked. At least she knew why she was there, not that it made it any better. Cheryl brought her mouth featuring her rank breath toward Natalie’s like she was swooping in for a kiss. She may have been taken, and she didn’t know her fate, but she was going to do the only thing she had any power in and that was to try to figure out how to stay alive and make it back home.

“This won’t take long,” Cheryl said as she turned her face to the camera at the last second but moved both of her hands to painfully squeeze Natalie’s breasts. The woman smelled bad and had teeth with so much plaque caked on them it looked like she’d just eaten batter, and she was grabbing at her. Natalie was livid, but it seemed like the woman was enjoying squeezing her breasts like they were balls of clay.

The pain was real, and it almost shocked Natalie that the woman who was trying to make her feel comforted was causing so much pain. She reared her head back and crashed it into the greasy haired woman’s temple. Cheryl yelped and jumped off the bed, but at least that stopped the assault on Natalie’s breasts. When the dirty woman ran out of the room, Natalie thought she’d at least won that battle.
