"Hi, Amber, how are you?" she asks, a fake smile plastered to her face

"Just fine, thanks."

"I saw you standing here and thought I would come give you a little friendly advice."

“And what would that be Darcie?" I ask as I roll my eyes. This should be good.

"You might as well just give up now. You just don't have what it takes to keep a man like Kyle. You’re just, too ... plain." This girl is really pissing me off. Normally, I am not the kind of girl who is outspoken and starts shit. But, the tequila is starting to work its way through my system and I really hate this girl. Like, really.

"And what would you know about keeping a man like Kyle? If memory serves me right, you only had him once. I, on the other hand, have had the privilege of having him multiple times and he keeps coming back for more."

"He wants me. You are just in our way."

"You are just as delusional as your husband. You do know you make yourself look desperate and pathetic, right?" She tries to speak, but I put my hand up and cut her off. "Let me give you some advice, Darcie. It might be better for you to choose a man that doesn't take you as a consolation prize after they can't have me ... maybe then it will work out for you."

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh, sweetie, you didn't know that your ex-husband was in love with me in high school? Only, I didn't want him. And, Kyle, well, he only slept around because I left and he was hurting." She can't hide the anger in her face … or the embarrassment. I can see Paul and Holly staring at us from behind the bar with their mouths wide open. They know I am not one for confrontations, especially in public, but this bitch has pushed my last button. She pulls her phone out and puts it in my face.

"You think Kyle loves you so much? He sure didn't seem to love you a whole lot during this interview. Go ahead, watch it." I take the phone from her hand and look at the screen. It's a YouTube video dated about a year after I left. I'm not sure what this could have to do with me, but I don't think I am going to like it. Here goes nothing. I take a deep breath and press play. There is a lady interviewing Kyle and the guys. Kyle looks wasted. Nothing out of the ordinary has been said so far. I give Darcie a look, and she just points to the screen, so I keep watching.

Interviewer:
Kyle, is there anyone special you attribute your success to?

Kyle: (Laughs bitterly)
There is actually. The cold, heartless bitch, Amber, who ripped my heart out. I came up with the band name Bleeding Hearts because of her.

Okay, I have to admit that stings a little. But, really, what is Darcie trying to accomplish with this? There is nothing here that he hasn't already explained and apologized for a million times. I know he was hurting and pissed at me then. She isn't going to accomplish what she hopes by showing me this. I hand her phone back to her with a shrug of my shoulders.

“Your point is? Did you really think by showing me this I was going to dump him and he would come running to you? Even if I wasn't in the picture, he would not give you the time of day."

"You ... you ... you’re a bitch!" she spits out, frustrated, and storms off. I just laugh … what else can I do? She really thought that was some smoking gun. I’m thinking the bleach in her hair has gotten into her head. I look over at Paul and Holly who have smiles from ear to ear and are giving me a thumbs-up.

Kyle walks up to tell me it is my turn to sing. I don't bother to tell him about seeing the interview. We both agreed that the past is the past and we are going to focus on our present and future. Whether it’s the tequila or the run-in with Darcie, I was no longer nervous about getting up there.

The first couple lines I sing are shaky. I look down and see Kyle. He’s looking at me like he wants to eat me alive. My confidence flourishes and I relax. Focusing on him, I belt out the song, no holds barred. And, I have a blast doing it. Next, Kyle and I sing a duet. We end up having a great night. I don't remember the last time I had this much fun.

K
YLE WENT
into the bar a little early today for deliveries, so I decide to go for a little drive before I head in. There was this old back road I remember that I loved driving along when I was younger. I would drive out there when I needed to think or just be alone, windows rolled down and the radio cranked up as loud as it would go. As I was driving, I started thinking about the youth center back in Atlanta. That is the only thing I regret leaving. I really enjoyed working with the kids and doing something that felt meaningful. It was a great place for kids to come to after school when their parents were still at work so they didn't have to go home alone. We would help them with homework or just give them a place to hang out that was safe and fun. The more I thought about it, the more I realized this town could use a place like that. It would be a great way to do something in honor of my grandparents and to feel like I am doing something fulfilling with my life.

As I was heading back into town, a few miles from KC's, I noticed the old furniture warehouse was for sale. That would be the perfect building for the youth center. I pull into the parking lot to look around. I walk around the building. There seemed to be quite a bit of land behind it. I could picture a playground area for smaller children, a basketball court, and there even looked like enough space for a field where sports like baseball, football, soccer, and kickball could be played. I looked back to the front of the building and found a window that looked low enough for me to peek through. I could see that, for the most part, the inside was open space. There was a loft area with an office and what looked to be restrooms. Over all, the place was huge and perfect. A plus, there wouldn't need to be many renovations made. I turned as I heard a car pull in the lot behind me. An older man got out of the car and approached me with a smile. He was tall and lanky with short salt and pepper hair. His navy blue suit didn't quite fit in around this town. It looked too expensive, like something Daniel would wear.

"Hi, I'm Mike Weathers of Weather’s Realty. Can I help you with something?" He held out his hand and I shook it as I introduced myself.

"Yes actually, I am interested in buying this place."

"Would you like to take a look inside?" He held up a set of keys. I nodded and followed him in.

The place was as perfect as I thought it would be. There was an upstairs loft area that had two large offices, a conference room, and restrooms. There was even a full kitchen and dining area already in place. It would not need much at all to turn this into what I started to envision. It was amazing. Before I knew it, I was signing a contract and writing a check for the deposit. I thanked Mr. Weathers and set a time to meet him next week to close the deal and headed to KC's. I couldn't wait to tell Kyle.

The bar isn't open yet and the only vehicle in the lot is Kyle's truck. I walk around back and use my key to unlock the door. As I walk through the back hall, I see Kyle in his office working at his desk. I lean against the door and just watch him for a few minutes. He is so cute when he is concentrating on something. His face scrunches up and he works his lips back and forth. If it were anybody else, it would probably look silly. But, I swear, this man could make anything look sexy. As if on cue, he looks up and notices me watching him. A slow, sexy smile spreads across his face and my knees go weak.

"How long have you been standing there?" he asks as he puts his hand out for me to walk over to him.

"Long enough," I say as I reach him. He pulls me to sit across his lap. His lips gently brush against mine before he deepens the kiss, sucking at my lips, teasing them apart, and exploring my mouth with his tongue. I can feel him harden beneath me the instant he kisses me. "Excited to see me?" I ask as I wiggle my ass in his lap

"Always, Princess. But, if you keep doing that, I am going to bend you over this desk," he growls in my ear, and it makes me shiver.

"What are you waiting for?" I ask as I wiggle again. He groans and stands up, placing me on my feet as he closes and locks the door to his office. I am leaning back against the desk watching him. He looks at me like a lion stalking his prey; I can't wait for him to catch me.

"Turn around," he says as he stalks closer. I comply. He put his hands on my shoulders and slowly runs them down my arms until he is holding my wrists. He places my hands, palms down, on the desktop. “Don’t move them.” He grabs the bottom of my jean skirt and pushes it up to my waist. Hooking his fingers into my panties, he slides them down my legs. I hear him unzipping his jeans and pulling them down. He wastes no time. Thank God. One arm snakes around under my shirt and caresses my breasts as the other hand slips between my legs.

"Always so wet for me, Princess," he whispers, then slams his cock into to me. I scream out as he pumps his hips in a furious rhythm.

I love the gentle and sweet Kyle, but I also love this one. The Kyle that seems to want me so much he loses all control. He reaches around and circles my clit with his thumb. I immediately tighten around him, calling his name over and over. He thrusts a couple more times before I feel him swell inside of me, spilling into me as he wraps his arms tightly around me. "I love you so much, Amber. You are everything to me," he says as he kisses my neck.

"I love you, too."
