Keely’s jaw dropped, but he didn’t say a word.

“Will there be any other travel required of me?”

“Not according to this contract. Any meetings that require your presence will be done over teleconference.”

Freaking perfect.

“And the house?”

“The new owners took possession of the house yesterday.”

“Thanks, Bruce.” Dominic smiled. “Go back to sleep.” Dominic snapped his phone closed before Bruce could reply. “What else, baby?”

Chapter Nine

“You’re insane,” Keely whispered, but for the first time in as long as he could remember, Keely felt like that might not be a bad thing.

Dominic was saying all of the right things. He was handing Keely his dream on a silver platter. Keely just didn’t know how long that would last when the dust settled. Being a full-time family man wasn’t a cakewalk. It took perseverance, dedication, and a strong stomach.

It took a lot of love.

Keely had that in spades.

He didn’t have confidence in Dominic’s staying power.

Keely jolted and jumped back when Dominic dropped to his knees on the carpet right in front of him. The man’s strong hands—hands that Keely obsessed over in his dreams—gripped his hips.

“Give me a chance, Keely. I won’t let you down. I swear it.”

“And what happens if I let you back into my life and you do let me down? What then?”

“I won’t,” Dominic insisted.

“You don’t know that.”

“How about a trial run then?”

Keely’s eyebrows drew together. “A what?”

“Put me on probation, say three months. If I fuck up during that time, you can send me on my way. No arguments. If I don’t, let me stay.”

Keely stared down at Dominic. He was faltering, and he knew it. He wanted to be with Dominic so badly. “I don’t think I would survive it if you deserted me again, Dominic. I’m just not strong enough to go through that again.”

Keely never would have believed it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, but the life seemed to drain right out of Dominic at his words. Tears shimmered in his eyes for a second before Dominic dropped his eyes. His once strong and broad shoulders kind of folded in and slumped as he stood.

“Dominic?”

Dominic’s smile wobbled, never quite reaching his eyes. “I understand, Keely, and I don’t blame you. I fucked up. I’ve broken too many promises to you before. You have no reason to believe anything I say.”

Dominic walked over to a briefcase sitting on the wooden hotel room desk. He pulled a business card and then carried it back to Keely, holding it out to him.

“This has all of my numbers on it. If you need anything, if the kids need anything, I’d like you to call me. Anytime, day or night. I know you don’t believe me, but I promise to answer if you call.”

“Dom—”

“I appreciate you coming here and allowing me a chance to explain myself.” Dominic still wouldn’t meet Keely’s eyes, looking anywhere but at him…until the last second. “Good-bye, Keely.”

The sudden deep and agonizing pain that ripped through Keely was his only excuse for what he did next. He was not a violent person, so he was just as shocked as Dominic was when he smacked the man across the face.

Keely inhaled sharply and covered his mouth with his hand. His eyes rounded with shock. “I’m sorry.”

“No, it’s okay. You had a right to—”

Keely smacked him again.

“Keely!”

“Oh, just shut up!” Keely snapped. “You keep assuming things and making statements and never once have you let me make a decision about where things should go.”

“But I—”

“Just shut up, Dom.” Keely shoved his hands into Dominic’s chest. A self-satisfied smirk worked its way across his lips when the man’s mouth dropped open as he fell back on the mattress.

Keely was up on the bed, straddling Dominic’s waist before the man could even sit up. “You do so much better when you act instead of speak.”

Keely leaned down to cover Dominic’s lips with his. Dominic’s hand came up to grasp Keely’s head, his tongue sweeping in, tangling and teasing back and forth.

Keely’s mouth opened wider when Dominic’s tongue plunged in, sweeping and exploring. Dominic began moving his tongue in and out in a sweet, sexy rhythm that had Keely squirming.

Dominic seemed to be pouring all his emotions into that one kiss, giving Keely his fear, his joy, and everything else the man had been holding back.

Keely’s body became pliant as Dominic claimed his mouth, his hands pressing into Keely’s back.
He gently settled against Dominic, feeling the man’s cock press against his stomach as he bent to take Dominic’s lips again.

His own cock jerked in anticipation. He teased, tasted, and became familiar again with the sexy mouth he had been missing for the last several months.

When oxygen became an imperative, Keely reluctantly pulled back, but Dominic didn’t release him. Instead, he yanked his shirt over his head, revealing a chest sculpted to be a man’s dream. Keely’s mouth began to water as he leaned in, taking a small nibble of Dominic’s nipple. He smiled when Dominic hissed.

Dominic tore his nipple away from Keely and wiggled out of his pants like they had caught fire. Keely chuckled. He loved how impatient Dominic always was.

Dominic leaned up and captured his lips in that very moment, stealing all thoughts from Keely’s head just as he stole the breath from Keely’s lungs. He groaned into the kiss as Dominic’s scent filled every pore in his body.

“I need skin.” Dominic’s voice was strained, almost as if he were just as desperate as Keely was to feel their skin collide. He tore at Keely’s shirt, an animalistic sound rumbling in his throat. Dominic was branding him, making his own claim, and Keely was so turned on that he was about to explode in his jeans.

He lay back on the mattress and let Dominic have his way. Once Dominic had his shirt ripped open, he began to work on Keely’s pants. His movements were wild, unforgiving, and dared Keely to interfere, to stop him.

Keely swallowed when he saw the raw hunger in Dominic’s pretty arctic-blue eyes. The man wasn’t kidding around. He meant to fuck Keely to within an inch of his life. That was fine with him.
He had missed feeling Dominic’s beautiful cock pound into his ass so damn much.

Dominic shackled Keely’s wrist and pulled him close until bare skin met bare skin. The sensation sent shivers all over Keely’s body. Dominic was such a big man.

Keely loved it.

“I love you, Keely,” Dominic confessed. “No matter what happens, never doubt that.”

“That was never our problem.” Keely wished it had been that simple.

Keely wrapped his arms around Dominic’s shoulders, pulling him close. He captured Dominic’s lips, feeling the warmth spread inside of him at his mate’s scent. He inhaled through his nose, parting his lips as Dominic’s tongue pushed inside his mouth.

Keely wrapped his legs around Dominic’s thick waist, groaning when their cocks brushed against each other. An anxious whine fell from his lips. Keely wanted to feel Dominic inside of him. His cock was already hard and painful, needing release so damn badly.

Dominic broke the kiss, nibbling his way down Keely’s neck. His lips traced a sensuous path of ecstasy. He took Keely’s mouth again and again—drugging kisses, enflaming kisses. Keely felt like he was going to come any second, and Dominic hadn’t even fucked him yet.

“P–please,” he stuttered, fighting for air.

“Yes?” Dominic prompted, his voice gentle, coaxing.

“Fuck me, Dominic. I want you.”

Keely lay back and pulled his knees up to his chest, offering himself to the man. Dominic’s eyes were like summer lightning. They were compelling, magnetic, pulling Keely in as the man grabbed the lube and began to stretch him. He writhed under his lover, losing his mind as he felt Dominic’s thick fingers inside of him.

Keely began crying out loudly when Dominic added a second finger and went in search of his prostate. He felt so full and wonderful. A third finger quickly joined the first two, thrusting several times before they were removed.

Dominic rolled Keely onto all fours as he lined his shaft up with Keely’s aching hole and pushed inside, both gently and insistently. Looking over his shoulder, Keely saw that Dominic’s eyes suddenly burned with an intense hunger that took Keely’s breath away.

Keely closed his eyes, braced his hands against the headboard, and pushed back. One hard thrust buried the thick, steel-hard erection into Keely’s body to the hilt. Keely could feel his heart struggling to keep up with the demands his arousal was placing on it as Dominic began to move inside of him.

“I’m going to come in your hot, tight ass,” Dominic whispered into Keely’s ear. “I’m going to fill you with my cock and fuck you until you can’t walk.”

“God, yes!” His throbbing cock bobbed gracefully, the cool air sweeping around its heat, teasing Keely further. He arched his back higher as a breathless moan escaped his lips “So deep…inside. God, Dominic…I can feel you.”

Keely lifted his ass higher as he shouted out his pleasure. Dominic slid in and out of Keely’s ass as if he had never been gone. Keely was on the verge of coming. He wasn’t about to let this moment end so soon, but if Dominic kept up at his current pace, he was a goner.

Keely moaned as the long, thick cock that seemed to fill him so perfectly brushed across his prostate with every thrust of Dominic’s hips—each thrust, each roll was amazingly erotic.

Keely tightened his inner muscles and massaged the length of his cock at the same time. Dominic was driving him insane with ecstasy as it washed over his body. His balls drew up tight against his body, and he knew it wouldn’t be long, not when Dominic was fucking him so thoroughly.

Keely arched his back and screamed as the pleasure burst inside of him. With a rush of liquid that would have terrified him at any other time, Keely came, and came hard. Dominic plunged deep and hard, thrusting his cock in at a rapid pace, elongating Keely’s climax. It felt like his seed was being jerked from the depths of his soul rather than the tight sac beneath his cock.

Dominic gave a few more thrusts, burying his cock deep as a hot rush of liquid filled Keely’s ass. As he went boneless, Dominic’s rocking motion slowed before the bigger man finally rolled them to let Keely cuddle up to him.

“I love you, Keely.”

Keely turned his head, gazing up at Dominic.
He knew in his heart he wasn’t going to let the man go.
Dominic was his. Keely couldn’t let him go. He just couldn’t, even if it broke his heart.

“I love you, too, Dominic.”

Chapter Ten

Dominic was on pins and needles as he waited for Keely to call. The man had promised he would, and unlike Dominic, Keely never broke a promise. If he said he would call, he would call. But it had been two days, and Dominic was going out of his mind.

He didn’t believe for a moment that Keely was waiting to call him to punish him in some manner. Keely just didn’t have a mean bone in his body. But he worried that something had happened.

If he hadn’t promised to give Keely a few days to think, he would be standing on the man’s front porch right now instead of sitting in his hotel room staring at his phone.

Dominic ran a shaky hand through his hair before dropping his hands down to dangle between his legs. Maybe he deserved this. Even if Keely didn’t mean to put him through hell, not knowing what the man had decided concerning their relationship—or possible relationship—was as close to torture as Dominic ever wanted to get.

Dominic glanced at the bottle of scotch on the nightstand. There was a really powerful part of him that wanted to take a drink, and then maybe keep on drinking until everything around him grew fuzzy.

Another part of him—the stronger part—knew he needed to stay sober in case Keely needed him. He couldn’t stand next to Keely if he was stumbling drunk, and Keely needed someone to stand with him.

Dominic had no doubt that Keely could raise those two little kids all by himself if he put his mind to it. There wasn’t much Keely couldn’t do if he wanted it enough. But having someone to help along the way would make things easier for Keely, and Dominic wanted to be the one that make things easier for him.

Hearing Keely’s words of love had renewed Dominic’s belief that they belonged together not matter how badly he had fucked up. As long as they loved each other, everything else in life was just logistics, compromise, and planning. It was just too bad he hadn’t figured that out before hurting Keely.

His nerves fried, Dominic started to reach for the bottle of scotch—just one small drink—when he heard a soft knock at the door. Considering the desk clerk called up if he had visitors, Dominic was surprised to hear the knock. He knew he hadn’t missed a phone call. He hadn’t been more than three steps away from the phone in hours.

Dominic smoothed back his ruffled hair and went to open the door. “Keely.” God, the man looked so damn good.

“Hey.” Keely’s cheeks were a little flushed. “We came to see if you wanted to go have lunch with us.”

It was only then that Dominic realized Keely wasn’t alone. Danny and Carrie were snuggled into a double stroller sitting in the corridor next to Keely.

Keely shrugged when Dominic didn’t say anything, and then he licked his lips, a nervous gesture Dominic knew well. That told Dominic more than anything that Keely was as anxious as he was.

Dominic sent Keely his most warming smile. “I think lunch would be a wonderful idea. I would love to join you.” Dominic’s eyes went to the two small children. “All of you.”

The beginning of a smile tipped the corner of Keely’s lips. “I have to warn you lunch with these two isn’t what you’re normally used to. Besides the fact that they would probably be banned from any five-star restaurants around, we don’t have one in this town. We’re headed to the park for a picnic.”
