Tears
mounted my eyes and my bottom lip shivered. I wanted to kill these bitches. Dalia lost her life all in the name of a fuckin’ lie.

"So y
’all bitches preyed on the weak and conspired for her to kill herself?"

They looked at each
other and burst out laughing. "Well we didn't know the bitch was gonna shoot herself. I thought the pills would take her out, but oh well." Breal smiled and high-fived Rosslyn.

“What did Dalia do, why did you have to
drag her into it?”

“Because the bitch was in the way! Anything to hurt you
, Ms. Tyra, I would do. I wanted to make your life hell since you made mine hell after taking away Michael from me. He was my ticket out, I wouldn’t have to fuck with any more of these lame ass ballers, because Michael makes five times more than half these niggas. I wanted to have his baby, get the ring and live the good life. I still plan to.” She said, grinning Michael’s way.

“So what about Terry Lamont’s girlfriend, you killed her too
, didn’t you, Rosslyn?”

“Ding! Ding! Ding! That would be correct!” She laughed
, spinning in a circle. “Duhhhhhh Tyra, of course I did. Stop asking stupid questions.” I nodded slowly, this bitch was truly psycho!

She
stopped swirling around and pointed her knife in Michael’s direction. He hadn’t said a word; he was watching this whole clown show transpire.

“Michael baby, who do you think pushed your little pretty fiancé down the stairs. That hoe was clueless. Sitting in that house sleeping with you every day
, pregnant with what supposed to be
our
child. You belong to me!” She shouted her last word, bucking her eyes wide. Then she slid the knife up and down his chest. “I already got the engagement ring and everything, so when I get rid of this bitch, Tyra, we can go get married.” she flashed her self-bought ring on her left hand, and I had to pull Michael back because he wanted to murder Rosslyn.

“You killed my seed
, bitch!” The vein in his forehead popped out, he was infuriated. If it wasn’t for a knock at the door, Rosslyn’s neck would’ve been squished in his hands.

"Shhh!" Rosslyn said
, putting the knife to her lips. Breal kept her knife pointed at us as Rosslyn crept to the door.

"Room
Service."

Rosslyn
opened the door. “We don’t want no gotdamn room ser—”

BOOM
!!!

Once again the door was
forced open.

"Who the fuck are you?" Rosslyn screamed at the masked man
who was holding a blade as big as an arm. Michael and I looked at each other, and this time we were smiling. Rosslyn and Breal were shaking, wondering what the fuck was going on.

I let out a chuckle.
"You see, I knew you were coming Rosslyn. You didn’t know our whereabouts after our last encounter, because we got new phones. But we never cut off our old ones. We purposely used our tapped phones to make reservations at this suite because we knew you would come.” I looked at Breal’s frightened face, “But I didn't know that you were in on it too, Breal. Sucks for you." I smiled.

Put them weak ass knives y’all got down right now and back up to the window!” The masked man demanded.

Michael and I stood out of the way.
Breal and Rosslyn threw down their knives, put their hands up and backed up. The fear in their eyes was priceless.

"
Baby, put the money on the dresser." I told Michael.

Michael withdrew
five stacks of all hundreds, totaling fifty thousand dollars.

I stood beside the masked man with my hands crossed.

“Meet Dalia's ex- boyfriend, Stax."

"Stax?" Breal looked confused.

Stax pulled the mask off his face and evil filled the room. The ladies were shaking, them hoes never saw this coming.

"
I have some interesting news for you, Stax.”

“Is that right?” he said
tucking in his bottom lip.

“Yes, t
hese two bitches were just in here telling us how they switched out Dalia's pills to purposely make her kill herself. Now, I called you to handle Rosslyn, because I knew that she was probably behind what happened with Michael’s baby, but I didn’t know she was in on what happened to Dalia. So now it looks like you have to get sweet revenge for Dalia as well.”

"
This is for Dalia!” Stax forcefully shoved the knife into the mattress, showing the ladies how easily the blade could cut through their skin. He pulled it out and pointed it in their direction with his face scrunched up.

What are you doing?” Rosslyn screeched, eyeing the sharp blade.

“Shut up bitch!”

I went to stand in front of Rosslyn and then turned to Michael. "Come here, baby." I laid the sloppiest French kiss on his lips. Rosslyn watched us with rage in her eyes. I picked up my left hand and pushed my ring into her face. "He's
my
man, bitch!" I hauled back and punched the fuck out of her with my ring. “And this is for his baby.” I socked her in the stomach, causing her to choke on her spit. I figured I’d handle these bitches and not let Michael get his hands dirty. Breal helplessly watched her cousin being tortured, and I spit a fierce looey in middle of that bitch’s face. “You fuckin’ shady ass bitch! This is for Dalia.” I punched her in the nose so hard, blood streamed down her face, then I spit on her again.

“What the fuck!” she screamed.
The duo was fuming mad, but knew not to retaliate with Stax leeringing at them with murder in his eyes.

"Well, we got a honeymoon to go to. Stax
, enjoy your money. Rosslyn and Breal, it's been real, bitches!" I flashed them hoes the deuces and left the room with my man. I felt satisfied that my plan had worked, and it gave me great comfort knowing that my problem was finally taken care of.

As we nea
red the elevator, we heard screams of torture coming from the room. I stretched out a smile and mashed down the elevator button.

"You are no joke." Michael said.

"No, WE are no joke. Team Slinks, baby." I stood on my tippy toes to kiss him when the elevator arrived. "You know what they say, babe, boys in the hood do anything for profit. Well Stax got profit and sweet revenge at the same damn time."

We walked
through the open elevator doors and let the doors close. I pulled out a small wrapped gift and handed it to Michael. "What's this, babe?" He peeled through the blue and white gift wrap.

"A baby rattle?" He
was confused, shaking the small white rattle in his hand.

I smile
d, hinting toward the hidden meaning.

He tilted his view toward my
stomach. "No. Are you serious?" he was smiling from cheek to cheek.

"Yes, I'm serious
. I'm pregnant babe!" The elevators opened in the lobby and my strong husband lifted me and the bags to the car. This was it, we were finally about to begin our new life, one that was carefree. The Rosslyn saga was finally over; it was just me, my new husband, and our new baby.

Life for me was sweet. I had true love in my life and my man spoiled his pregnant wife rotten. I caught a few clips on the news about two women who were badly stabbed and tortured in a hotel room, but they survived. The police said that they didn’t have any leads on a suspect as of yet. I had no idea what Rosslyn was up to, and rather or not she got taken back into the mental institution, but I was just happy that she was out of our lives.

I did
, however, hear shit on the streets about Breal’s shady ass. Rumor had it that she tried to blame her man, Mavis, for Dalia’s death. The gun that she gave Dalia was actually registered in Mavis’s name. She told the police that Mavis purposely gave Dalia the gun to kill herself. She was trying to get him locked up so that she could enjoy his money without him. This bitch would rather be single with money, than with a man who actually really loved her. The type of real love that Dalia died for. Not only was Mavis the father of Breal’s child, but he took her out the hood. I couldn’t believe she was falsely accusing someone who had done so much for her, for some shit that she was behind. She was just like Rosslyn; they would stop at nothing, even if it meant ruining the lives of others, to get what they wanted. These bitches took shady to another level; I guess crazy ran in their family. I heard the investigation is still ongoing, and I felt bad that Mavis had to go through that bullshit, all in the name of the almighty dollar.

I
quit the dental office and hadn’t been around in months. I decided to stop to bid them an appropriate farewell, because I hadn’t seen Dr. Raphael or Dr. Sherman since I quit. Dr. Sherman was off duty that day, and when I saw Dr. Raphael, the look in her eyes was bittersweet.

“Dr. Raphael, I would truly like to thank you for everything. I now kno
w why you said when someone hands you a box full of darkness, that too is a gift.” I rubbed my belly. “All the darkness that consumed my life was somehow designed to contribute to my happiness. Maybe Courtney turned out to be everything wrong for me, because GOD was preserving me for my true love. And without Rosslyn and Dalia, maybe I would've never re-connected with Michael. The Lord truly works in mysterious ways, and I just hope that life for me going forward will be a smooth ride.”

She gave me a long caring hug.
“Congratulations Tyra, you truly deserve to be happy. I told you that you would see what I meant. Sometimes a gift comes in the form of pain.”

“I see now
, Doc.” I smiled.

“Now listen, you better bring
that baby in when you have it.”

“I definitely will
, I promise.”

“Do you know what you’re having yet?” she asked.

“Yes, we are having a girl.” I couldn’t fight my urge to smile, I was so happy about the sex of our baby.

Dr. Raphael
smiled largely, something that she hadn’t done often. “She is going to be beautiful.”

“Thank you, we are going to call her M
ikayla Dalia Slinks.”

I saw a tear form at one of Dr. Raphael’s eyes as she peeked over at Dalia’s
old chair.

We are going to miss the both of you around here.”

I took it upon myself to embrace Dr. Raphael
, and she held me tight. I promised her that I would come by as often as I could to visit, especially after I had the baby. She told me that she’d like that, gave me her home number, and then we exchanged goodbyes. It was refreshing to see Dr. Raphael, because as much as I despised that lady, I would’ve never known that she’d end up being a mother figure to me, and I appreciated her for that. She didn’t only teach me about professionalism, but her wise words helped me through some hard times.

Not only did my pregnancy fly by, but my daughter was perfect. She had Michael’s dimples and my round head. We were head over heels in love with our angel, Mikayla. We were now settled into our new house in Randolph and our life was just about picture perfect. Michael was excelling in basketball, and since I was now a stay at home mom, I created a baby sports bow line for little girls. My business was brand new, so it wasn’t making much money yet, but I was content with the fact that I was able to be creative with fashion. The line was inspired by my daughter, because I loved dressing her in different color bows. Sports bows was something that wasn’t on the market yet, so the league agreed to endorse my idea. I created bows for each team. I made special baby Celtics bows for little Mikayla, one to match every outfit so she could represent her daddy’s team.
