Chapter 1

Bryce Lucas looked at the gift in her hand then at the crowd of friends and family smiling at her. She pasted on a smile as she pulled the paper off the prettily wrapped box. Bryce lifted the top off the gift box and pulled out another piece of lingerie, the fake smile grew broader as she held it up for everybody to see.

After everyone oohed and aahed over it, she passed it to Vanessa, her best friend of ten years who was also her Maid of Honor. An hour later after opening another dozen gifts, half of which were lingerie, Bryce excused herself to go to the bathroom.

Her bridal shower was being held in a private room of a local restaurant. After she finished in the bathroom, she bypassed the celebration and detoured to the bar, she needed a drink, a strong one.

Bryce was almost done with her drink when, Vanessa found her at the bar. She sat on the barstool next to her. “Everybody’s looking for you; it’s not a good sign when the bride-to-be goes M.I.A. at her own bridal shower. What’s wrong?” she asked, sympathetically.

I don’t think I can do it,” Bryce admitted bluntly.

Vanessa nervously glanced around to see if anyone from the bridal shower had come out of the room and heard them, they hadn’t. “Come on Bry, you’re just getting cold feet.”

Bryce shook her head and took a big gulp of her drink. “It’s not that. I’ve been feeling this way ever since Bernard proposed to me. I knew that I never should have said yes, but he looked so eager and—” She dropped her head in her hands. “And now I’m getting married in three weeks. And I just want to run away. I don’t want to marry him.”

Vanessa sighed. “Give me something with vodka,” she called to the bartender. “I’m not going to tell you what to do, but really think about your decision; I’ll support you either way.”

Bryce lifted her head and smiled gratefully at her friend. “I know you will, thanks. I love Bernard. He’s comfortable, reliable, dependable, sweet, funny, but then he’s predicable, boring and not very spontaneous. If I feel like this now, how the hell am I going to feel five years from now, hell maybe even two? We don’t have a spark. And I don’t think we ever did,” she added sadly. They had been dating for the last two years and engaged for one.

The bartender placed Vanessa’s drink in front of her, he lingered just a little longer than necessary, but most guys do that around Vanessa, she was gorgeous. She was the color of dark chocolate, smooth unblemished skin, and with a little help from her hair stylist Tyrone and sixteen inches of Remi hair, she had flowing hair down to the middle of her back.

Bryce was equally as pretty as her friend. With Native Americans, Italians and African Americans in her family tree, she had an exotic look that made it very hard for people to pigeon hold her into any specific race.

Bryce groaned. “Our parents will be devastated if we break up. We’ve known each other before either one of us could talk, our mothers even sent us to the same preschool.”

Vanessa took a sip of her drink. “Yep, you guys saw each other’s wee wee and cookie before you knew what you were looking at.”

Bryce rolled her eyes at her friend. “Yeah, then we ended up at the same college. I still haven’t figured out how we both ended up at Howard,” she muttered. The situation still stumped her. She had kept her college choice a secret from her parents until the very last minute, when she knew there was no way that Bernard could follow her. It surprised the hell out of her when the morning she and her parents had planned on driving to Howard, Bernard and his family were already waiting in their driveway. Naturally, everybody knew what was going on except for her; the entire trip up to Howard was spent laughing at her. When she had asked how Bernard found out about her decision; that only garnered knowing looks between the parents and Bernard.

I guess it wouldn’t be so bad if your mothers weren’t best friends. But because they are…”

They’ve always been best friends and always will, and they’ve already given me a list of baby names. They want me to get pregnant on the honeymoon,” Bryce said, then groaned. “That is so not going to happen.”

Have you talked to him?” Vanessa asked.

Oh, please, if I even joke that I want to cancel the wedding, Bernard will start crying, you know how sensitive he is. He’ll fall apart faster than a pair of cheap Indonesian made shorts.”

But if you’re so unhappy, maybe you should.” Vanessa hesitated then asked, “Why the hell did you accept his proposal?”

Bryce pressed her lips together. “You know why, you were there. He proposed to me in front of all my friends and family on my birthday. There was no way I could turn him down in front of everybody. And then the next day our mothers went right into wedding planning mode, I was stuck on a fast-moving train that I couldn’t jump off without taking any causalities.”

They were silent while they each took a sip of their drinks. Finally Vanessa spoke. “Bry, you can jump off now if you want, wounds will heal.”

I know. I’ll think about it. I will,” Bryce insisted at Vanessa’s skeptical look.

Are you ready for tonight? It’s gonna be fun!” Vanessa enthusiastically pumped her arms in the air.

Yeah girl. I need something to take my mind off this wedding. I want to get wasted. I need it.”

Come on let’s get back to the shower before they come looking for us.”

They both gulped down their drink and made their way back to the celebration. “Pray for me,” Bryce whispered to her friend.

Chapter 2

Do I have to wear this?” Bryce protested. She wanted to rip off the sparkly bride-to-be tiara with the condom veil and the feather boa that snaked around her neck. Her friends had insisted she wear the items in honor of her bachelorette party.

Keep it on; it’s a gold mine for free drinks. And besides do you see me complaining about this?” Vanessa reached up and touched her own sparkly Maid of Honor tiara.

Sure enough, two minutes later, a group of ladies sitting at a table next to them sent a congratulatory drink over to her. Bryce held it up to the ladies before shouting her thanks to them. She gulped it down.

Whoa, slow it down girl. You have all night. I don’t want you to get so drunk that you won’t be able to enjoy your special night.”

Bryce snorted. “I would rather be in a club dancing.”

Well this is a club,” Vanessa offered. “And there is dancing.”

Yeah, but I don’t want some man sticking his naked ass in my face.”

Vanessa slung her arm over her friend’s shoulders. “Stop being so grumpy,” she chastised. “You’ve been to tons of strip clubs. Don’t think about the wedding just focus on having a good time.”

Bryce tugged at the tiara. “It’s kind of hard to have fun with this thing on my head.”

Leave it on, Bry. Besides Cooper will be sad if you take it off. Do you know how many stores she had to go to before she found this one? And how long it took her to put that condom veil together?”

Okay, okay,” she mumbled and dropped her hand; she didn’t want to disappoint Cooper, she snuck a peek at her younger sister. Cooper was sitting on the other side of her talking to another bridesmaid and wasn’t listening to her sister’s conversation. “So what time does the show start?”

The club was still filling up, hip hop music played in the background, not too loud, but loud enough to layer the club with atmosphere. There were groups of ladies some like her, brides-to-be, all with their bridal parties, couples and friends clustered together, just hanging out. Cooper had reserved them a large table in front of the stage.

Suddenly, the lights dimmed and spotlights cut through the dark. They amped up the volume on the music, a hip hop song with a heavy bass line thumped throughout the club.

Cooper wrapped her arms around her sister’s neck and bounced gently in her chair. “This is going to be so much fun,” she gushed.

Bryce laughed; her younger sister’s enthusiasm was contagious. Suddenly the tiara didn’t bother her and she began grooving to the music.

A few minutes later the hostess strutted on stage to a round of applause. An attractive black lady, with her hair pulled into a sophisticated ponytail, she was dressed in fishnet stockings, a leotard and tails, paired with long black gloves and six-inch black peep toe pumps. She began talking into the microphone. “Welcome everybody, I’m Dara, get your money, get something to cool yourself off with and get ready for some of the finest men in the A-T-L.” She grinned when the crowd erupted into a deafening roar, Bryce was sure Cooper screamed the loudest. “The first one is White Chocolate.” Her voice lowered. “And ladies he’s gonna show you how he got the name Chocolate.” She winked before holding up her hands then spread them until they were almost a foot apart. Ladies laughed and banged the tables with their glasses. “That’s what I’m talking about. Okay give it up for White Chocolate!”

Dara strolled to the edge of the stage and sat on a stool. That was White Chocolate’s cue to make his entrance. He sauntered onto the stage, just as a Drake song started, his blond hair and muscles glistened under the bright lights. Wearing only a pair of jeans, he slowly gyrated to the music while the crowd went wild, even before he started taking off his clothes, some women threw bills at him, they fluttered down to the floor, where it’d be picked up after his show. He pointed to several ladies and flashed them a dazzling grin.

White Chocolate gestured toward the growing bulge in his pants. “How many of you want to see this?” Bryce was jostled by her sister, who had jumped out of her seat.

I do,” Cooper yelled, while waving a fistful of money at White Chocolate.

Scream if you want to see this!”

The roar that erupted was so loud that Bryce was sure that her eardrums were shattered and she’d never hear again.

Okay, here it is!” White Chocolate ripped off his jeans exposing a red rhinestone studded G-string.

Oh Lord, you were right Dara,” Bryce muttered. The G-string did little to contain his cock. Already stiff, its light brown tip peeked from under the flimsy material.

He danced over to the steps and sauntered down, his dick bouncing against his thigh. A crowd of women was waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. And just for a second that Bryce looked away from his penis to his face, she saw his smile falter and panic cross his face. He glanced imperceptibly at security, a half of dozen burly men who were closely watching the situation. They must have noticed the fear in his eyes; because they marched over, and made a path for him, in the crowd.

While dancing through the newly made pathway, women and some men stuffed money in his hands and the not so shy ones stuffed it in his G-string.

Cooper screamed and raced across the room to give him some of her money. Bryce sat back and enjoyed the show.
This is fun, Vanessa was right.
She shot her friend a smile then returned her attention to the dancer. White Chocolate had found a bride-to-be and was giving her a lap dance.

Two hours later and six strippers in, Bryce had gotten in the party mood. Several times she had stood on her chair while she hooted and hollered at the strippers. If a stripper caught her eye, she even stuck some money in his G-string. Vanessa captured every minute of her friend’s behavior on her phone.

Dara returned to the stage, during the show she had changed her outfit a few times. She had changed from the sexy tux, to a glitzy ball gown, and now a pair of short shorts, a vest, a tie and her six-inch heels. “Okay ladies the time has come.” A deafening roar went up and Dara grinned. “That’s right ladies; it’s time for your sugah fix. Get your money out, because here comes Sugah Cheeks.” The music changed to a Lil Wayne song as the erotic dancer marched onto stage wearing a policeman’s uniform, complete with a billy club, handcuffs and a fake gun.
