Back around the fire I wrap the potatoes in tin foil while Trent makes a package out of foil and pops the hot dogs into it. Clay places it all on a spade which he slides into the flames. Kayden has found a knife and is slicing the cheese and cutting open the rolls. Kaci tops everyone’s mug up with hooch. I ask her to only give me half a mug and I dilute it with cola. As the hot-dogs only needed heating up they’re ready first. Trent retrieves them from the fire and places them in the rolls. I squirt a dollop of ketchup on mine and pass the bottle around. I’m pleased to see that Clay is going to eat this time. From the appreciative moans I’m now hearing I assume they’ve never had hot-dogs or not had them often. They all finish in seconds and I’m the only one still eating. I toss the bag of marshmallows at Kayden. “Shove them on the end of a garden fork and toast them in the fire, they only take a couple of seconds.”

Kayden and Kaci thread a bunch of marshmallows onto the fork and toast them. Kayden picks one off and drops it into his mouth. Sliding his hand along the prong he captures a handful of them and sitting down behind me he puts one in my mouth, along with his fingers. I lick and suck the sticky marshmallow from his fingers and I can feel his erection pressing into my back. He feeds me another and this time I clasp his hand and suck every one of his fingers and kiss his palm. He breathes deeply in my ear. “Oh baby. I love you.” he says, kissing my neck. “Can we go to my caravan for a while? We can come back and eat the potatoes later.”

I don’t know exactly what he has in mind but right now I want to be alone with him. “Okay, let’s go.” He grins and his whole face lights up. Telling Clay to save us both a potato he picks me up and runs backs to Simon’s farm.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Savannah

Kayden is breathless from running all the way here. His chest is rising and falling and his heart’s thudding. He brushes my hair out of my eyes and gazes at me. His lips are parted and his eyes look almost black. Sliding his hands down to my waist he presses his lips against mine. My hands move to grip his solid shoulders and I crush my body against his, needing to be closer. He pulls back and unzips my jacket. Slipping my arms out of it, I toss it onto his bed.

“Sit on my bed baby,” he says. I sit down and he kneels in front of me and pulls off my boots. I’m wearing thick socks because it’s cold. He tugs those off too and holding my foot he brings it up to his face and gently strokes his fingernail across my sole. I shudder and as his eyes meet mine I can see they’re glinting devilishly. Using all four of his fingers he strokes his nails over the whole of my foot, whisper soft touches that are making me squirm and driving me insane. Who knew having my feet tickled could feel so erotic. Perhaps I have a foot fetish, or maybe just a Kayden fetish. Finishing his assault on that foot he starts on my other one. Then he takes my toes into his soft, warm mouth, beginning with my big toe. He sucks each one and runs his tongue between them. It feels so good and I love watching him, he has his eyes closed, totally lost in giving me pleasure.

He gently pushes me down till I’m lying back on the bed and unbuttons my jeans. I raise my hips so that he can pull them off. He throws them on top of my jacket. Slowly, he strokes his large rough hands up my bare legs from my ankles to my thighs. It feels like every nerve in my body has gone into overdrive, my skin feels so sensitive to his touch. I let out a little moan. Parting my legs he dips his head and kisses my ankle. He plants little soft kisses all the way from my ankle to my inner thigh. His lips and his breath tickle me and I shudder. As he reaches the area in between my legs I stop breathing, anticipating the feel of his lips on my most private part. I tense as I feel his hot breath on me but then he begins kissing his way back down my other leg. “You’re beautiful baby,” he breathes.

Placing his hands under my hips he pulls me over to the edge of the bed and places my legs either side of his head, my feet are hanging over his shoulders. My whole body tenses as his mouth makes it way to the area between my legs. The anticipation is killing me and my breathing is shallow. I jolt and my stomach fizzes as his lips make contact with me. His tongue slowly glides over my folds and my legs begin to shake as I gaze down at his handsome face, his eyes are locked with mine. I feel his long finger enter me and his tongue as it gently flicks over my clit. Closing my eyes I get lost in the sensations he’s causing, I’m breathing heavily and my hands move down to my stomach, which has started to tighten & contract. My thighs have closed around his head and I can feel the prickles from his facial stubble. Oh God, I don’t know what he’s doing now but it’s too much. My legs tremble, my thighs squeeze his head as I push my head back into the bed and moan. My hands shoot down, pushing his face into me but I’m contradicting my actions by telling him to stop, no, stop. It feels too good, I can’t take it. I can’t stop trembling and my breath comes out in little shudders. I can’t think clearly anymore. I lose myself in the sensations as wave after wave of pleasure rolls through me.

I’m still trembling as he moves to position himself above me, holding himself up with his forearms he kisses me and I can taste myself on his tongue. He licks the remainder of me from his lips and gazing down, he smiles. “See, there’s nothing wrong with you,” he says.

He looks so smug and pleased with himself that I can’t help laughing. I pull him down onto me, needing to be wrapped in his warm strong arms. “Thank you Kayden,” I whisper. He chuckles softly into my ear and I shiver. I nestle into him, my head resting on his smooth chest, listening to the beat of his heart. His powerful arms are wrapped around me. “You haven’t slept since yesterday morning darling,” I say, running my finger along his chest. “We’ve got about an hour before my brother gets back. Shall we sleep for a while?”

“You called me ‘darling’,” he says, smiling at me, his eyes shining. “I love you.”

He tightens his arms around me and a couple of minutes later I can hear him softly snoring. I don’t want to sleep; I’m content just lying here next to him. All this time I thought I wasn’t normal, thought I wasn’t sexy. Dan was happy to let me believe it was my fault but I’m glad he did. I’m glad he was an arsehole. I would never have met Kayden if I hadn’t come here. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted and more. I kiss him lightly on his chest, not wanting to disturb him, he must be exhausted.

All too soon it’s time for me to go so I can get back to the house before Simon gets home. I don’t want to wake Kayden but I’ll never find the house on my own in the dark. “Kayden,” sitting up I gently shake him. “I’ve got to go; my brother will be home soon.”

I climb over him and as I get off the bed he reaches out and grabs my arm. “Don’t go. Stay with me, please?”

“I want to but I can’t. If he sees me with you he might hurt you again.” Pulling my arm from his I put my boots on and pick up my jacket.

“Baby,” he sits up. “I’m used to it, I don’t care, stay with me. Please Savannah.”

I shake my head and open the door of his caravan. I hear him sigh loudly as I step outside. “Wait for me. I’ll carry you.”

I hold him tightly as he carries me back to the house. I don’t want to leave him. I’m sure he is used to being hurt but I’m not used to him being hurt and I can’t bear the thought that I’d be the cause of it. He gently lowers me to my feet when we reach the door. “Is your brother working tomorrow? Will I see you?”

“Yes you will.” I step up on my tiptoes and give him a peck on the lips. “I’m going to take you out tomorrow. Is there anywhere you’d like to go?”

“I’ve never been anywhere,” he shrugs. “I don’t care as long as I’m with you.” He dips his head and kisses me. “I love you so much Savannah. Sweet dreams baby.”

I feel lonely when he turns and leaves. “Kayden,” I call out. “Get some sleep tonight.”

He walks fast because I hear his reply in the distance, “Can’t. I’m gonna be working, so I can be with you tomorrow.”

“No, get some sleep.” I’ve no idea if he heard me, he doesn’t reply.

I’m in bed when I hear Simon come in. I’ve been lying awake trying to think of where to take Kayden and I think I’ve thought of somewhere he’ll like.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Savannah

I wake up having had a wonderful dream about Kayden. In my dream we got married, under the stars at night and Clay was his best man, Simon walked me down the aisle and everyone was happy for us. There’s a huge smile on my face as I glance at the clock. It’s 7:30, damn; I won’t have time to see Kayden before Simon gets up. I hope he got some sleep last night.

Simon is already in the kitchen. He makes us coffee, cereal and toast. He asks if I’m going for a meal with him and Christina in the evening but I suggest they have a romantic meal alone together, promising him I’ll join them next time.

As soon as he leaves I run upstairs to get ready. I put on my black jeans and my floral top, leaving my hair down because Kayden likes it that way. Grabbing everything I need I go to find Kayden. As I step out of the door I bump right into him. “Morning baby,” he beams at me. “Did you sleep well?”

“Yes,” I give him a cuddle. “I had a dream about us.”

He grins at me, his eyes gleaming. “Oh yeah, what happened?”

Damn, I wish I hadn’t mentioned it. Now I’m going to be embarrassed. “It was just a silly dream. Did you sleep last night?”

“No. What happened in your dream?”

I can feel my cheeks heating up. “It was silly.” I twirl my hair around my finger. “We got married,” I mutter quietly. He’s staring at me. “We’re going to the zoo. Are you ready to leave?” I don’t wait for his answer; I head over to my car and get in. He jumps in beside me.

“What’s married?” he asks. I’m stunned. There’s so much he doesn’t know. I guess slaves don’t get married, though I don’t imagine they have a choice in that. It’s probably another thing they aren’t allowed to do. It will be less embarrassing for me if he doesn’t know what it is but he’s asked so I’ll tell him.

“It’s when two people decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together. They give each other rings, like this.” I show him my mum’s wedding ring, which I always wear. “They wear the ring on the third finger of their left hand.”

I turn the key in the ignition and set the co-ordinates in my satnav. As I put the gears in first he places his hand on top of mine. “You dreamed about spending the rest of your life with me?”

And there it is. I should write a book, fifty ways to send a man running for the hills. “It was just a dream Kayden.”

“Savannah,” he turns my face towards his, “I love you. I don’t know if slaves can get married but I wanna always be with you and I’m gonna give you a ring one day.” He leans back in his seat, a huge grin on his face.

Kayden had no problem getting into the zoo. There was no one there with a scanner. I made sure he wasn’t standing with me when I purchased the tickets at the kiosk and after that we just had to pass through a turnstile.

It was wonderful spending the day together like a normal couple. We wandered the zoo, our arms around each other. We attracted plenty of stares, several people tutted at me and a few murmured their disgust. I guess Kayden’s looks mark him out as a slave. Some people even moved away rather than stand near us. It didn’t bother us though, we were just happy to be together.

We’re now looking at the gorillas. One of them has just had a baby and she’s sitting down holding it. It’s so cute and Kayden is fascinated by them. He’s been gazing at the mother and baby for the past fifteen minutes. “Do they let them keep their babies? They don’t take them away from their mum do they?” he asks.

“Yes they keep them. They all live together.”

He continues to stare at them. He’s deep in thought and the corners of his mouth are tipped down. “Kayden, are you okay?”

“Yeah fine,” he answers quickly, getting up and marching away from the enclosure.

I run after him, standing in front of him so he can’t walk away. “Kayden, what’s wrong?”

His eyes are wet and his gaze drops to the floor. He shakes his head. “Nothing.”

I gently rub my hand over his arm. “Kayden, please don’t shut me out.”

“I was thinking about my mum,” he croaks. I wrap my arms around him and hug him to me. He puts his arms around my waist, clutches me to him and buries his head in my neck. His shoulders start to shake. “I saw him kill her,” he sobs. “I saw him kill my mum. He hit her and she fell down. She wouldn’t wake up. She had blood coming out of her head. I tried to wake her up but I couldn’t. It was all my fault.” He’s crushes me to him, his breaths are coming out in gasps, his shoulders shuddering. Oh my poor baby. I didn’t know his mum had died. I don’t know what to say, so I just hold him and stroke his back in a effort to soothe him.

“It can’t have been your fault Kayden, you were just a child.”

“It was,” he stammered. “She tried to protect me. They were taking me away. I was scared. I didn’t wanna go.” He takes several deep breaths. “She tried to stop them taking me.”

“I know what it’s like to lose a parent.” I kiss his wet cheek. “Even worse to lose one so young and to see her die but it wasn’t your fault.” We stand there embracing each other, oblivious to the people around us. “I love you Kayden,” I whisper.

He freezes, then lifts his head from my shoulder to stare into my eyes, his own eyes wide. “You love me?” I nod my head. He squeezes me so tight that it feels like my bones might snap. “Thank you. I don’t deserve you but thank you.” He’s crying again now. “You don’t know how much you mean to me. You make my life worth living.” He rocks me back and forth in his arms. “I’d die for you baby. I love you, I love you, I love you.” He squeezes me even tighter.
