She was a good friend and the fact that I knew she wouldn’t let anything happen to these kids had earned her a place in my life that I was more than happy to let her in.

I stood up and looked down knowing all I was going to see was my giant belly.

I took a step towards the bathroom when I felt the gush of water between my legs. “Shit,” I yelled. Serena looked at me then looked down at my feet.

“It’s go time.” She smiled jumping into action as I made my way to my closet and pulled out a sundress that looked more like a mumu but there was no way I was going to try and put on a pair of pants when I was just going to take them off again when I got to the hospital. I made my way to the door as I heard a bike pull into my driveway. Serena had Lily and Zaiden rounded up and was getting them into the car. I got the door open when a shooting pain radiated through my stomach causing me to stop and wait for it to pass before I continued out the door.

I pushed the door open and waddled to the car where Serena was arguing with someone. I looked up when I recognized the voice.

“Nix, can you shut the fuck up for a second we have to get to the hospital and don’t have time for your shit. So move out of the way.” So now he wanted to talk. Fuck him. I got to the passenger side of the car before I felt another contraction. “Fuck.” I gritted my teeth as I waited for it to pass. I felt someone come up behind me. As I let out the breath I was holding I turned around. “Nix you need to move. I don’t have time for your shit right now, I need to get to the hospital and deliver these babies.

“Isn’t it too early for that? I thought you had a month to go.”

“I do but things with twins is a little different. Get out of the way.” I saw the look on his face change as he realized what I had told him.

“See you at the hospital,” was all he said before he jumped on his bike. I got seated in the car as Serena drove me to the hospital.

“I called Nitro, he is going to meet us at the hospital and pick up the kids.”

“Great.” I breathed heavily.

By the time we arrived at the hospital Nitro was waiting for us. He gave me a hug and took the keys from Serena as she helped me inside. As they sat me in the wheelchair to push me up to labor and delivery Nix and Payne were both walking through the doors.

“Oh my.” The nurses hand went up and covered her mouth. I laughed as the nurse who was pushing me took in the sight of those two walking towards us. “Are they with you?” she asked.

“Yeah.”

“Who’s the daddy?” she asked as she pushed me through the halls.

“Fuck.” I gritted my teeth as another contraction came on. “Don’t know.”

She pushed me into a room and got me situated. I was now in a hospital gown with my legs up in stirrups as a doctor checked the progress between my legs.

I didn’t know what to do as I stood there next to Payne. We both looked at each other waiting to follow the other’s lead. Or I suppose he was waiting for my lead. Shit. I took a deep breath and pushed my way into the hospital room where Trix had her legs up in stirrups.

“Okay Stella, you are only at a six right now. The anesthesiologist is on his way up for your epidural.”

I walked over to her and looked down at her as she stared at me with hatred in her eyes.

“Baby.”

“Don’t baby me Nix.” She gritted her teeth as her eyes closed shut. “Fuck.” I heard her through gritted teeth.

“What do you need me to do?” I asked her as I reached for her hand. She looked at me, her eyes softening. “Nothing.” Her eyes closed and she pulled her hand away from mine. Fuck. I needed to figure out what I was going to do to get back on her good side. Since she told me she was pregnant we barely talked, and when we did it was more “hi, bye.” She has been helping Serena with Calissta. I turned around and looked at Serena who was staring daggers at me as Payne stood against the wall. He wasn’t coming any closer. I didn’t blame him.

I sat back in the chair next to Trix as another doctor came into the room. When he introduced himself to me and explained to me what he was going to do I felt sick to my stomach. Evidently he was going to shove a huge ass needle into Trix’s spine. I sat there and watched his every move as she sat up, bent over, and sat as still as she could. When he was done she lay back down. She turned to me. She looked to be more relaxed.

“So twins, huh?”

She smiled at me and nodded.

“Wait did you say twins?”

I turned to look at Payne who looked as though he was ready to run out the door.

“Come on Payne lets go get some coffee.” Serena grabbed his arm and escorted him out of the room. “We’ll be right back.”

I turned to Trix. “I’m sorry babe.”

“Heard that before Nix.”

“No Trix, I fucked up.”

“It’s done Nix. The only thing left is to move on.”

“I’m trying Trix, but I can’t do it without you.”

“What if these babies aren’t yours?”

“Doesn’t matter anymore Trix. I have tried to move on from you and I can’t. I can’t move forward unless you are by my side.” I closed my eyes and when I opened them she stared back at me, tears streaming down her face.

“I love you Nix. And I fucking hate you at the same time, but we can’t keep doing this. I promise I won’t walk away again but you have to promise you won’t either.”

“I promise Trix.” I leaned in and pressed a kiss to her forehead as the doctors came through the door.

“Time to check your progress, Estella.”

I sat back in the chair as the doctor once again moved between her legs.

“We are almost at ten centimeters and fully effaced. Let’s get the nurses from the NICU down here and deliver these boys.”

I looked over at Trix. Boys. A sigh of relief hit me.

Chapter Thirty Four

It was time to meet my boys. The nurse got me positioned as Payne and Serena came back through the door.

“Sir, you can stand either up by Estella or you can stand back here with the doctor. It’s your choice.” They said to Nix. I looked over at him as he was trying to figure out where he should be.

“Nix.” I held my hand out for him and pulled him closer to me. I wanted him by my side. He stood next to me holding my hand when the doctors said to push.

Thirty minutes later I had delivered two healthy baby boys.

Baby Boy A

5lbs 6oz

19inches

Baby Boy B

5lbs 8oz

19.5 inches

They may have been born at thirty four weeks but they were both healthy. I held baby A as Serena held Baby B. “I called about the paternity test, they should be here any minute and we should have the results back by tomorrow.”

Both Nix and Payne were sitting on the couch looking as though they had seen better days. Both had decided that after baby A was born they wanted to watch me deliver baby B. Both of them were regretting their decision to do so.

The door pushed open and in came Nitro hand in hand with Zaiden.

“Mommy.” He came running over to the hospital bed.

“Hey little guy. Want to meet your brothers?” I asked as he crawled into bed next to me.

“What’s his name?” he looked up at me.

“I haven’t named him yet, what do you think we should name him?”

“Zae.” He smiled at me.

“No Zae is what we call you, we should pick something different how about Zane?” I looked at two of my boys. Zaiden nodded yes as he watched his brother sleep.

Before I could show him his other brother a nurse came in with a stack of papers.

“Okay I have everything ready for a paternity test. Who are my possible daddies?”

“Over here,” Nix and Payne both said in unison. The Nurse looked back at them and stopped in her tracks as she took in their appearance. Both were wearing their Demons of Darkness cuts. She slowly made her way over to them and handed them both a packet of papers to have them fill out before making her way back to me.

“I need to take a few swabs from you and then both the babies. As soon as the guys fill out the paper work I will swab them too and within twenty-four hours we will have the results. We do it right here in the hospital and may even have the results sooner. It looks like you paid for them to be done ASAP.” I nodded. She swabbed my cheek and double checked the tube and had me confirm it was correct before sealing the tube. Next was Baby A and then Baby B. When she was done with us she moved back to the guys. Payne looked as if he was about to pass out and Nix, well he looked as though it didn’t matter what the results were. He wasn’t going anywhere.

“I have to get back to the clubhouse. I’ll be back tonight Trix.” Nix came over to my bed and pressed a kiss to my forehead. “They are perfect babe.” I nodded as he pulled away and walked out the door. Payne soon followed him but didn’t say a word to me. He just nodded and walked away.

“How are you so calm about all this?” I heard Payne as he caught up to me at the elevator.

“Not my first time.”

“No, I mean how are you so calm about knowing these kids could not be yours.”

“Doesn’t matter if they are. They are Trix’s and that’s all that matters.”

He nodded. “You really do love her don’t you.”

“Always have.” I shrugged.

“How did this get so fucked up?” he asked rubbing his hands over his face.

I laughed. “It’s Trix. Nothing she does is easy. She does everything the hard way. It’s just her.”

“Are you really going to be okay if those boys are mine?”

I looked at him as we walked out of the elevator. “No, but I’ll get over it. How about you.”

“I think, in all honesty Nix, that I will be relieved if they are yours and not mine.”

“Guess we have about twenty-four hours until we find out.”

“Yeah. I got to head back to the clubhouse, you coming?”

“Nah I need to clear my head.”

I nodded as I walked to my bike. Shit there was no way Trix would be able to get four car seats in that car of hers. I needed to take care of that. I  rode to the closest dealerships. She needed something dependable and with enough room for four car seats. I pulled into a Chevy dealership and walked inside, an hour later I had a brand new Tahoe bought and paid for and a scheduled to be delivered.
