“I told you not to go anywhere in this place alone.”

“I was just going to get a drink. I don’t see what the big deal is Nix.”

“You are pregnant with my child Zoelle can you please just listen to me. And stay away from Trix.”

“Why she seemed nice.”

“Just listen to me. And stay away from her.”

“Fine but I don’t understand why, she’s Nitro’s daughter and he has always been really nice why would his daughter be any different?”

“Just listen to me please Zoe.”

She nodded at me but rolled her eyes at the same time. “Now I got something that I need to take care of. Will you be okay in here or do I need to have a prospect stand by the door and make sure you don’t go anywhere.”

“I’m fine I’m just going to watch some TV and relax.” I placed a kiss to her head and walked out the door. I needed to find Trix and I needed to get it through her head that she needed to be gone and fast.

I checked the common room first but didn’t see her. I made my way to Nitro's room and knocked on the door.

“Go away.” I heard her through the door.

“Trix open up I need to talk to you.

“No, I don’t want to see or talk to you Nix.”

“Open the door Trix or I will open the door myself.”

I could hear her moving around and the door clicked unlocked. I pushed it open. She was sitting on the floor with her son. No our son. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Locking the door behind me as I clicked it shut.

“Trix look at me.”

“Nix I don’t have anything to say to you and I think we should just get through this lockdown and I will leave and you wont have to worry about me anymore.”

“Trix, baby look at me.” She looked up with tears in her eyes.

“You shouldn’t have come back Trix. You are safer away from here.”

“I know. I didn’t want to but I had no choice. It’s not just me anymore Nix. It’s not about me. It’s about him.” I sat down on the floor next to her and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. She leaned into me as we sat there in silence watching Zaiden play with his trucks. When he crawled into my lap I couldn’t help but smile.

“Will you take him out to Nitro? I need to take a shower and think about some things.”

“Yeah.” I stood up with him in my arms and walked to the door. I turned to see Trix smiling as I walked out of the room with Zaiden. I wasn’t paying attention as I made my way out to the common room.

“Nix.” I heard Zoelle from behind me.

“Yeah babe.”

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

She eyed me and then Zaiden who I was still holding. “Don’t worry about it Zoe.”

She shook her head and walked past me into the kitchen. A prospect hot on her heels.

“No Nix I want to know why you’re standing there with Trix's son in your arms just after you told me to stay away from her. What the fuck.”

"Zoe it doesn't involve you. Just stay out of it."

"No. Nix I think as your fucking wife I deserve some answers."

"Here." Trix came out of her room wearing a sports bra and a pair of sweatpants and took Zaiden out of my arms, her back facing Zoelle.

"Are you fucking serious. You didn't want me to know did you Nix. He's yours isn't he. It's her name that's under those fucking roses. Isn't it."

I looked at Trix as she walked away with Zaiden. She didn't say anything just stirred up shit and fucking left.

"So what if it is. Does that make you happy? Do you really want to know who the fuck she is to me?  She's nothing Zoe. Just a fucking mistake. There does that make you happy. Fuck." I stood in front of her as tears streamed down her face. I pulled her into my arms as she tried to punch me. I held her tight until she gave up. “Don’t cry Zoe.”

"You should have told me Nix. I should have known. That's why I don't have a chain or wear your mark. Isn't it."

"I wasn't making that mistake again Zoe. But if it makes you happy I will fucking ink your name on my body if that's what it takes to make you realize that it's you I'm with. That it’s you I married."

"That's a start." She sniffed as her tears dried up.

"The rest of you get back to whatever the fuck you was doin. Ain't nothing to see here." I heard a few grumbles as they turned back around and went back to their own conversations.

Chapter Five

The fuck was I thinking. Oh I know. I wanted her to hurt. To know she wasn't special. But I fucked up. I showed my cards and now getting out of here was going to stir shit up. Fucking Nitro. He should have taken me somewhere else. I sat on the bed as Zaiden napped next to me when I heard a knock on the door. "Come in."

"Venom."

"Trix, I got to say things with you here sure do liven the place up. Even if you do fuck shit up."

"Funny, sorry I forgot to laugh."

"Meeting."

"So."

"You forget, you’re just as much a part of this as I am. And now that you showed your ass back here you got shit to do."

"Can't." I pointed to Zaiden.

"Thought you would say that." He pushed the door open and Cheyenne walked in. "Figured she was the only one you would trust to keep an eye on him.”

"You were right." I stood up and pulled an old flannel shirt out of my bag and pulled it on, buttoning just enough buttons to keep it on. "Lead the way." I followed Venom out the door and into Nix's office. Everyone was already inside. Venom shut the door behind me and leaned against it leaving one chair open. Right in front of Nix. I held my head up high and took a seat as I felt everyone's eyes on me.

"Since everyone is here for once, let's get this shit straightened out. Trix this lockdown we are on is because of some backlash revolving around Rat. Remember him?"

"How could I not."

"Turns out someone inside that bar that night remembers you. Thing is they have him holed up somewhere. Word on the street was you had been seen a few hours away. Just last week Ray, one of our prospects, was high-jacked on his way back to club after a beer run. He was dropped off at our front door barely alive. He lived long enough to tell us they wanted you."

"So who was it? Kill the bastard and get this shit over with. When it's over I'll walk. I'm done Nix. I don't want this shit. It's not just me anymore. I can't do this anymore.  I'm out. I'm fucking out."

"That's the plan Trix.  You want out. You know the way out. Got you an appointment tonight with the fucking needle. You fucked up when you left wearing the fucking patch on your back. You should have known better. That shit goes. And your connections with us, protection all of it fucking gone."

"What's that mean for Zae?"

"You’re not walking out of here with my son, Trix. Not going to happen. You want out that's fine but he is mine."

"Not happening. I'm not going to leave without him." I stood up and looked Nix right in the eyes. “He's not your fucking son he's mine and I'm not going to let you take him away from me."

"Too bad Trix. You did this all on your own. He is safer here with us."

"No he isn't Nix. He is a fucking baby. He needs his mother. More then he needs his fucking dad who can't keep his fucking dick in his pants long enough to pay attention to him."

"Then stay."

"Fuck you Nix." I turned around and stormed to the door. Venom hadn't budged. "Move out of my way."

"Not happening sweetheart," he smirked.

I turned around and looked at Nitro first then Nix. He had a smirk on his face. "You think this shit is funny? You think you have me right where you want me huh." I spit at him. "Well you don't have shit."

"Oh but I do. Tell you what. You play along for now. And maybe if you’re nice I will think of something better. Maybe help you out a little, get you and our son settled somewhere real nice. But until then Trix it's my turn to show my cards." He lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. "So where were we. Oh yeah. Venom. Where are we on finding these pieces of shit?"

"Should have all my intel ready tonight. Tomorrow morning at the latest."

"Anyone else have something to say or all we all on the same page now."

Everyone seemed to be in agreement except me. Fuck my life.

Everyone but Venom got up and walked out of my office. He just shook his head as Trix pushed her way out the door. "Nitro, make sure she doesn't leave." He nodded and walked the rest of the way out the door, shutting it behind him.

"That's not what we talked about Nix."

"Yeah well shit's changed. She's not taking my son. I don't care if I have to tighten up security to keep him safe. I can't do shit if I don't know where he is."

"You think her staying is going to be a good thing?"

"No but what choice do I have now. We have eyes on the fucks that are stirring shit up. What more can we do."

"What about your wife."

"What about her. She'll be fine."

"What ever you say Nix. I just don't think you’re thinking right. You never did when it came to Trix. When she's around you don't think straight."

"I'm thinking just fine Venom"

I wasn't and even I knew that but fuck he didn't need to know he was right. That fucking bitch always fucked shit up. I put my cigarette out in my ash tray and stood up. Trix was a hard-headed bitch but when she walked in wearing my flannel I knew I still had her. She wasn't going to leave not this time. I just needed to buy some time to get her where I wanted her. I just had one person I needed to deal with. Zoe. Shit.

I stood up and walked out to the bar. I grabbed a bottle of whiskey and sat back in a booth.

"Prez, Rally's pulling in—you want me to have him set up in the back?"

I nodded. Shit. Did I really want this.  Did I want to see my name covered up. Fuck no. I wanted my name on her back and I wanted everyone to see it.

I threw back a few swigs of whiskey before I went and got Trix. I knocked on her door. "What," I could hear her ask from behind the door.

"Rally's ready for ya."

She opened the door. Zaiden was standing next to her holding on to her leg smiling from ear to ear. With a little stuffed dog in his other hand shaking it back and forth as it made noise.  She leaned down and picked him up. He giggled as he continued to shake the stuffed puppy.

"Let's do it then." She handed Zaiden over to me and walked past me.

"What am I supposed to do with him?"

"You want to be a dad. Figure it out. I'm going to get a drink." She walked past me and straight to the bar.

Chapter Six

Fucking Nix. He wanted to play dad. Then fucking let him because I planned on being the old Trix. Just for one night. I found Nitro and walked over to him. He was hanging out with Cheyenne. "You guys think you could handle Zae for the night. I got shit to take care of. And it's going to be a long night."

"Sure thing Trix."

"Why don't you take your old room. It's still empty but I can put some fresh blankets on the bed if you want. That way we don't have to move all his things from Nitro's room."
