Christina laughed and then shrugged.

“Hey, another perfect season could happen, you never know. I still believe!”

I laughed hard at her earnest expression.

I
wasn’t even alive yet when they had that mythical perfect season, how could you know?”

Christina stuck her tongue out at me and I wanted to go over there and bite it.

“There’s such a thing called
records
, plus the Dolphin’s persevere, they’ve been through a lot and one has to respect them for that.” She was really sticking to her team and I had to commend her for that.

“Okay, but if the Giants win today you have to be naughty on the car ride back and give me some
attention
,” I said suggestively with a wicked grin on my face.

“What about if they lose?”

I snorted and she rolled her eyes, but amended her condition. “Okay if they score at least seven points?”

I smirked. “If they score at least seven points then I won’t make fun of you all season long for liking the Dolphins.”

Christina pursed her lips and then sighed. It was a fair bet, really.

“Fine, but if they score over seven, then I don’t have to give you any
attention
until we get home.”

I jumped up to shake on that bet and then rubbed my hands together in anticipation.

“This is gonna be a great game I can feel it. Dolphins go down zip to like fifty-four.”

Christina rolled her eyes and started putting pancakes and bacon on each of our plates.

“They’ll get at least one touchdown, I know that much,” Christina said as she joined me at the island bar. I drizzled syrup on the fluffy pancakes and then took a bite.

“Oh my God, Christina…these pancakes are amazing,” I said before taking another bite.

Christina smiled happily, glad that I was enjoying it.

“It was one of my mom’s recipes,” she said tentatively.

“Well, your mom was a great cook and a great teacher, these are the bomb.”

Christina laughed at my use of the old slang word and while we ate I checked the time of the game.

“The game starts in three hours, so we’re good on time if we leave in like two,” I said. I was excited to go to the game, I couldn’t believe that Christina was a true football fan. She simply couldn’t be any more perfect.

We finished our breakfast and then changed, she actually brought a Dolphins jersey with her and I simply shook my head. I’d have to protect her from angry Giants fans, I knew that she’d definitely get a lot of dirty looks.

“You look really sexy in that jersey, baby,” I commented as we left the house. She was wearing tight fitting jeans again and since we had box seats, she was able to wear “wedges”, or whatever she called them, with the outfit.

“Oh? I thought you didn’t like the Dolphins?”

I chuckled and smacked her on the ass as she was climbing into the car, causing her to yelp in surprise.

“I didn’t say you wouldn’t look sexier in a Giants jersey, in fact, I think I know what I want our next bet to be for when the Giants and Dolphins play against each other again.”

“I’m sorry, but you’ll never get me into another team’s jersey.”

I gave her a devious look and a slow smile spread across her face.

“Do you want to bet on
that
?”

Christina laughed and she shook her head.

“I think you have a gambling problem, Jeffrey, that’s not good at all.” she giggled and I shrugged.

“Only when it comes to you and possibly getting you naked.”

I grinned and she shushed me while she glanced in the front at the driver. Honestly, she didn’t need to worry about Carl; he had been my driver for years and confidentiality was his last name.

The man lived by a code and I respected him for it.

Thirty minutes later, we arrived at the MetLife stadium; it was packed with Giants fans and some Dolphins fans, as well. We got to our box seats and settled in to watch what I
knew
was going to be a blowout.

And that would get me a blow
job
. I had a stupid grin on my face through kick off and I didn’t care.

Christina kept shaking her head at me, but as soon as the ball got kicked into the air for the Giants to return, I knew we’d be in for a win.

Somehow though, that did not happen. The Giants were messing around and the Dolphins must have had some sort of magic working for their defense.

The Giants lost by three points.

I had to give it to Christina, she did not gloat or send me smug glances.

She simply smiled like a lady when they won and we went to eat at one of my favorite pubs nearby.

“So you really aren’t going to rub this in my face at all?” I asked her once we were seated at the bar.

Christina shook her head while she perused the menu and I realized she really wasn’t going to rub it in my face. Yep, she was definitely a keeper.

“Thank you for taking me to the game, though, I really enjoyed it…” Christina trailed off as her eyes went over my shoulder. Someone tapped me and I turned to see a familiar tall blonde. Sarah…if anyone could make Christina feel self-conscious I knew it’d be Sarah.

“I thought that was you, what are you doing in Jersey?” she asked curiously while looking between me and Christina.

Sarah wasn’t a mean person or vindictive in any way, so I at least had that going for me.

“I was at the Giants game with my date, Christina, this is Sarah,” I introduced the two women and they shook hands. I studied Christina’s face and she seemed to be fine.

“I saw the end of that game, tough break, it was actually pretty close,” Sarah looked from me to Christina in her Dolphins jersey, “but congratulations for you and your team, I guess.”

Christina smiled and glanced at me, I knew she was trying not to come off as gloating and simply thanked Sarah. She was still being as polite as ever.

“So, I’m guessing you and Jeffrey worked together on a shoot?” Christina asked Sarah naturally.

I held my breath for what Sarah would say. She wasn’t a mean or vindictive person, but Sarah was truthful and she often chose not to sugar coat things.

“Yeah, we did, on a couple shoots actually…I was one of the models he worked with on his very first one.”

I knew Christina picked up on the subtlety of
that
comment and it was confirmed when she glanced at me before looking back at Sarah.

Christina made a vague acknowledging comment and I took the chance to exchange pleasantries with Sarah before she went back to the table where she’d been sitting.

“So…your first photo shoot, huh?” Christina lifted her eyebrows at me and I caught a hint of jealousy. I had to say I liked that a hell of a lot better than insecurity or self-consciousness.

“Yeah…we had a fling, but that’s all it was.” I chose to be truthful and straight forward with her and I thought she appreciated that.

“Well, as long as you’re still planning to bulldoze that room…”

I laughed and then nodded.

“Actually, all the stuff has already been cleaned out of there so…no more ‘flings’ for me, especially not after you.” I mumbled the last bit, but Christina heard me. She studied me a moment before looking back at the menu.

When the bartender came around, I ordered a beer and she a Cosmo, which I secretly loved. She was still a girl even though she liked football.

“Their wings are amazing here, I know you’ll love the sweet heat and their lemon pepper wings dipped in the garlic Parmesan sauce…God sent,” I suggested to her while she decided what she wanted to eat.

We ordered our wings from the bartender when he came back with our drinks and Christina started glancing around while we waited. She skirted my eyes whenever I tried to make contact with hers and I knew she was still thinking about Sarah.

“Christina, talk to me,” I urged her and she sighed and looked at me head on, she was doubting herself, it was written all over her face.

“I just…it’s hard when I see the type of women you are used to and then I can’t help but compare myself. It’s hard to imagine you with someone like me. You know…” She trailed off in an almost defeated tone and I shook my head.

“No, Christina, it’s not hard to imagine. It’s real, I’m with you now and I love spending time with you. The other women were in the past and that’s all there is to it. I hate that you doubt yourself like this, tell me what I have to do to show you how I see you, how the rest of the world sees you?” I took her hand in mine and my thumb caressed her knuckles restlessly.

“I’m sorry…I just can’t help it, Jeffrey,” she said, still sounding defeated. She took a sip of her drink and went back to looking everywhere else but at me. I could feel her pulling away from me by the second and I didn’t know what to do to stop it. I hated that feeling of helplessness.

“I don’t want to lose you because of my past, Christina, you’re my now, my present and I don’t want to let all that other crap in and ruin things.”  I spoke honestly and she looked at me with silent contemplation. “Please believe me,” I begged her and after a moment she took a deep breath and nodded.

“It’s just very easy for me to think you don’t want me, or might think someone is better than I am and want to dump me, or something…” She trailed off, she was being just as truthful as I was.

“As long as I am with you, Christina, I want you to never think that. You are who I want unless I
say
otherwise.”  I held her gaze and spoke without any hesitation. Christina nodded only after slight contemplation and I breathed a sigh of relief before giving her a very sound kiss on the lips.

After that, we enjoyed our wings and continued our amazing weekend. Before the day was over, I wanted to dazzle Christina with something. I wanted to show her something grand. I thought of the perfect thing and set up the arrangements before we left the pub.

“Hey, I want to show you something before we get back home,” I said while I took her hand and led her towards the waiting car.

She looked up at me with shy interest.

“What is it?” she asked and I grinned.

I didn’t quite want to ruin the surprise.

“You’ll see…” I said and soon we were off towards a small airport that housed a few helicopters.

One of the company’s helicopters was already there and waiting for us. Christina’s eyes widened as we walked towards it.

“You’re taking me up in a helicopter?” Christina asked excitedly, I grinned at her delighted expression.

“Yeah, I hope you aren’t scared of heights,” I asked as she climbed in before me. The pilot was in the front and started the chopper once we were safely inside.

“Definitely not, I love flying.” I helped Christina get her harness on and then I secured mine and once everything was checked out, we were lifting into the sky. Christina’s eyes were wide with wonder as she took in the city and all the lights below us.

“It’s cool isn’t it?” I asked her while watching her as she smiled like a little kid at a fair.

“It’s amazing!” she said before her attention was focused on the city below us. The New York City skyline was pretty impressive and I never got tired of it. This was definitely an experience every person should have. The city looked both infinitesimal and grand all at the same time.
