“I’ll be right back,” I whisper in Evan’s direction.

“Hey, I’m really sorry that I didn’t come to you personally. Please don’t be mad.” I cringe waiting to be sent to the corner, even though I know I’m an adult.

She pulls me in for a hug and it catches me way off guard. Not the reaction I was thinking would come. “We knew silly girl.” My mom laughs pressing her lips to my cheek.

“You knew? How?” I ask confused.

“Alfred?” My mom waves my dad over. “He came to us and asked for your hand in marriage. I was so shocked.” She presses her hand to her heart. “I didn’t know that boys did that anymore.”

I had no idea that he had done this. “When?”

“Don’t worry about the technicalities Abigale, just enjoy the moment.” She cries leaning over reaching for a napkin then presses it to her cheek.

“You’re going to make the most beautiful bride.” My dad joins us leaning in for a hug.

“Hey.” My mom playfully taps my dad’s arm.

“With one exception, of course.” He winks

“When did he come to you?” I pry again still shocked.

“Don’t worry about it?” she teases. “I’m just glad that that it’s official so that I can or I mean we can, start planning this wedding.” She beams. I think I must have forgotten about that part of the whole wedding thing. “Big, small, destination?” Amy sings as she and everyone else has joined in on our conversation.

“Uh,” I hum not knowing any of the answers.

“We really haven’t talked about that stuff yet.”

“Probably no hurry though, right?” Hollister asks.

“We are actually thinking spring.” I smile at Evan as he answers.

“Wow, soon then?” Hollister’s eyes lift in surprise.

“Hey Hollister, let's step into the hall.” Evan grinds his teeth and I can tell he’s not trying to draw attention to himself, but I can see pure anger beaming in his eyes.

“Somebody’s in trouble.” Amy holds her hand to her mouth in laughter.

“Amy,” my mom scolds.

“What? I’m just stating the obvious.” She huffs.

Evan and Hollister are only in the hallway for about ten minutes. When they come back, the tension seems a little more so than when they’d walked out. I don’t know why or what was said, but I intend on finding out as soon as we’re alone.

The small party fades after the cake is passed out. Everyone leaves with hugs and congratulations on our upcoming wedding and I have to admit I'm really excited about it.

Finally, there is something in my life to celebrate that I will never take that for granted. Life is good and all I can do is pray the darkness doesn’t return anytime soon.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Abby

My beautiful man has been amazing and as I lay here watching him rubbing my feet I realize that I’m the luckiest girl in the world. How many guys just randomly decide to pamper their girl like this? Not many I’m assuming. My cheeks are starting to hurt from the smile that I’ve been holding on my face and I know that I never want to be without this man. Ever.

We have been through hell in the last few months and now we have peace,
for now
. I hold on to the possibility of the dark looming, sucking us back into that dark hole, but for now we are happy and that’s all that matters.

We are months away from our wedding and there’s so much to plan. I sigh as I realize the pressure I’m sure to feel eventually, especially since my mom has taken control of the most memorable day of our lives. I know this is something that makes her happy though and I’m so blessed that I have her to help with everything. Oh and when I say help, I actually mean she’s in control and I really have no say what-so-ever, but I’ll give my input about certain things.

My dress for one. Yeah, I’m totally in control of that. I’m going for my fitting tomorrow and I’m actually really excited. While shopping isn’t my most favorite thing to do, I don’t consider shopping for my wedding dress a chore.

I thought Evan was dead and the feeling that filled my soul was soul destroying. There really aren’t any words to describe the feeling you get when someone you love dies. Emptiness engulfs you and takes you to a place of darkness. He’s alive though and for this I am so grateful.

I will soon walk down the aisle with my dad at my side. I know that this is going to be one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do. To give away his little girl. But I’m so happy that my parents love Evan like he’s already a part of the family. This makes everything so much easier to fall into place, the most perfect place. So uncomplicated and easy. I’ve been patient to have this and I’ll never give it up for anything. I
will
be Mrs. Evan Young and for the first time in my life…
ever
, I’m truly happy.

I thought at one point what had been taken away from me would leave me scarred forever, but then this amazing man came into my life and all hell has swept my life upside down and all the broken pieces found their way home again.

“What are you thinking in that beautiful brain of yours?”

“I was actually wondering what you and Hollister talked about in the hallway.” I ask, mindlessly twirling my hair around my index finger.

Evan pauses what he’s doing and meets my gaze. “I don’t like him and I don’t like all of the crap I hear.” He tilts his head in the direction of the large windows and then back to me and shrugs. “I just let him know that we’re together and he needs to respect that and back off.”

I’d do the very same thing if I was in his position. “Ok,” I nod, dropping the topic.

“What else are you thinking?” He follows my lead continuing with his question.

“That you’re amazing at this and that we should make it a daily tradition.” I laugh.

“That’s what you’re thinking?”

“Umm, I was also thinking how I wish your hands were rubbing the rest of my body like that.” I giggle again.

“Oh really,” he growls, taking a leap from the end of the bed. “Like this?” His hand slides up my tank.

“Exactly.” My eyes roll in the back of my head. “Just like that.” I moan.

“How about this?” His mouth meets the exposed skin of my belly. So hot and wet. Electricity finds every part of my body that feels neglected by his shattering touch. “You’ll be able to claim this body soon.” I reach for his dark hair.

His mouth leaves my skin. “Oh, you misunderstand, angel, married or not this body is now and always will be mine.” An evil Evan grin pulls at the corner of his mouth.

“I’ll have to say the same about yours.”

“You’re just now realizing this?” He asks seeming surprised. I shrug from my laying position.

“I’ve only ever been yours, Abby. And that’s how I want it to be. You and I forever taking on this crazy ass world,
together
.”

He crawls up my body hovering over my face. “I’m so happy, Evan. I’m like… the happiest I’ve ever been. When things in my mind were dark, you brought me to a place I could breathe.”

“Hmmm,” he breathes. “I could say the same. I could say that you, Abigale Hayes and future Mrs. Young, are the only woman that can bring me to the light. I can’t see clearly without you and no one could ever bring me peace the way you do.”

“Do you think that we will always feel this way?”

“Angel, my heart is full of nothing but love for you.” His eyes close. “I can’t breathe without you, which is probably really lame for a guy to say, but I will always worry about you and wonder what you’re doing every second that we’re apart, and the day that changes is the day I don’t want to live anymore.”

I try to hold back, but a sob rips through every crack my soul hides. The way his body wraps me up in his arms has me convinced that no one can ever hurt me again. This is exactly where I want to be.
Forever…

His hand slides across my naked thigh and I shiver. Our lips meet finding the vulnerability in all the fear and emotion that exists at this moment.

Could life possibly get better?
Inner sexy girl shakes her head as Evan pulls my hands over my head. “Take control of my body, Evan.” I want to hand over my trust.

I do though… trust him, I mean. The trust that I have handed over has been invisible because I’ve not announced it, not even to myself, but I know without a doubt that this man will never hurt me. I know that he will fight for me no matter the cost, and while that can be a scary thought considering what we’ve been through, I know that in this precious moment of our lives his love shatters every sin we’ve ever made to have this moment we’re dominating.

I know that our sins are coming together making the most amazing love that two people can possibly make.

“You’re the color of my soul Evan, and I just didn’t know. I just didn’t know what I was doing BEY.”

“BEY?”

“Before Evan Young.”

His head jolts back in laughter. “Probably the same thing I did, BAH. Nothing that ever mattered before you.”

“Are you going to kiss me or do I need to beg?”

The words I see he wants to say disappear into a cloud as he takes me into his mouth. Our fingers intertwine above my head. I want to reach out for his hair, but he’s taking the control that I’ve willingly given and I love it, to be honest.

I feel him hard against me making my body quiver in response. He presses hard into me letting me know how ready he is. My breathing becomes heavy. “Abby, I can’t do anything else right now. I need to be inside of you.” And with that he moves my panties to the side making room for his hardness to enter me fast.

I scream… “Oh my God. Uh.” His hands take my wrist as I’m moaning uncontrollably. His body slams into mine with repeated thrusts. The places he finds in every cell of ecstasy is the definition of mind blowing. Our mouths find each other’s in a hard clash, there isn’t anything gentle about this. Evan wraps his arms around my back pulling me up as he finds a sitting position. My hair is pulled and my head falls back in the same direction as he slams me down on his rock hard dick.

I scream again. Sweat beads up on his hairline as my hands fist through his hair.

“You are so perfect, so fucking perfect,” he hisses.

He thrust harder inside of me. I can feel the earth disappearing from everything I know as the tingling begins to take over. I’m so close to maybe the most amazing orgasm I’ve ever had.

How can every orgasm be better than the last?

My breasts bounce against his chest with every jolt my body takes. I have all of him and yet I know he wants to give me more.

He grips my body tightly to his chest as moans erupt from his lips. “Wait.” But I can’t, I need to find my oblivion.

My body doesn’t slow. He stands us up, holding me in his arms and I’m slammed to the wall, my legs wrapping around his waist.

“You’re the only one, Abby, I never knew love could be this way. But now that I do I will never let you go. I will love you forever, I will honor you and protect you from everything. Forever. Your mine and I’m yours, it’ll never be anything else. Do you understand?”

I nod because I do understand.

Evans body slams into mine and I know from this moment on I will be happy. I want to give him everything I have, I want to be everything that he needs me to be.

“Take me everywhere, Evan.” I give this because I love him with every cell and I am his to do with as he wishes.

He stills his thumb finding my cheek, his eyes are blue and soft as understanding fills his heart. “Are you sure?”

“Mhmmm.” I nod my tongue running across my lips.

His mouth finds mine in a soft sultry embrace.

My body is shaking as his hand slides from his face to my breast. He takes it into his palm claiming it.

My arms wrap around his neck holding on for dear life not sure if what I’ve just offered is actually going to happen. I’m quickly brought back to my dreams when body is slid off of him and turned facing the wall.

“Are you sure?” He kisses my neck, his hands finding the bare flesh on my back.

“Yes,” I gasp.

Both of his hands find my wrists pulling them into a v over my head. My legs separate as his leg nudges them apart. “Relax.” I take a deep breath knowing that I want this. I want to give him everything. “Don’t move your hands.” He releases my wrists. “Remember that safe word, Abby?” We haven’t even mentioned that since…

“Yes,” I breathe I’m pooling up with anticipation.

“What is it? Say the word.” He squeezes my breast pulling me into his hardness.

“Angel, it’s angel,” I moan ready for him.

“This gives you full control, it’s your safety net. Anything that we do, you can feel confident you control everything. When you use that word, it pulls the plug on anything you’re not comfortable with. I want you to know that you’re in charge.”

I nod my head against his heated face. “I’m in charge.”

“Yes.” His tongue meets that spot just below my ear sending a shiver through my body. His hand finds my wetness smoothing it along to my clit. All the pleasure I’ve felt up to this point has been minimal to what I’m feeling now. I need to just jump him, just turn around and throw him on the bed because I need him
now
.

I gasp as his fingers find my pussy bringing the edge a little closer. “Do you know what I want to do to you?” His fingers leave the space that they invade leaving me empty and I consider begging for them to return. My body is on fire from head to toe. His hand runs up my thigh meeting my bottom smoothing over the flesh. When he abandons me, I scream when the smack takes over the emptiness leaving a sting in its path. My arms jolt from the wall and he forcefully puts them back. “Don’t move.”

I have to admit as crazy as it sounds to even me, I like it. I like the control he has on my body and my heart. I can’t see clearly anymore without him.

He doesn’t speak to me, but I can hear his heavy breathing and feel the warmth of his breath on my neck.

My thighs are squeezed by large warm hands as they’re pulled apart. “Don’t move.” I take a deep breath knowing he’s just walked away. “Good girl,” he whispers into my ear as he returns. “This is going to be cold.” I jump when the liquid makes contact with my sensitive spot. “Makes things easier.” His wet hands grip my bottom again. “I love this ass, by the way.”
