“No!”
Nala screamed as Januar drug her away, “NO!”

Triton
hung his head low the grief overwhelming his composure. He struck a deal long ago to trade Nala for keeping Annasara safe. Januar knew from the moment Annasara walked into his house she was carrying a vampire’s child. Januar allowed Triton to fight the war and then plan his escape with Sara. Triton knew Januar had kept Annasara safe the entire time he was off to war, let Triton go Italy have the child and be happy just to spite Nala. Januar knew of Nala’s plan to set Annasara in Triton’s path, knowing she resembled his dead wife, Triton would save her and fall in love and impregnate her so Nala could take the baby to replace the child she lost. Supporting his frame with one arm, the other arm holding their son, Annasara spoke. “Oh, Triton.”

“Daddy!” the boy said reaching out for his father who took him into a tight embrace. The three held onto each other in this newly formed clan.

“You have a lot of explaining to do.” Annasara said still clinging onto her husband.

“I know, I will, oh
Sara, I wanted to tell you so bad. I could not lose you. Oh my love.” Triton cried.

“We have an eternity to talk, let’s go home now.” She said as
salty tears blended with their kisses to each other and their son. A single word, made the trio jump back, startled stiff.

“Brother.” Umbriel stood in the
opening the window left empty by the gunshot. Triton opened his arms to Umbriel who quickly joined the group hug. They all held each other for more than a minute; Umbriel spilled large soggy tears over his friends. Pulling back out of the cluster, Annasara faced held the confusion that needed an instant explanation.

“Were you
convinced?” Umbriel asked smugly.

“You should have been an
actor not a vampire, you missed your calling.” Triton told his best friend. Triton had given his blood to Umbriel granting him the gift of to walk in daylight and the concocted the story of Umbriel being Nala’s son. Umbriel breathed deeply, “This starts the new chapter, we can rule together, as we always wanted, our rules, our decrees.”

“You can rule, I my friend am going to raise my son,
and be a better husband.”

“Our son, we will raise our son, together.”
Annasara rested her head on his shoulder.

Triton
kissed her head, “Together, all of us for eternity. Never will we be apart.”

Sara
held her face up to meet his, “Never.”
