“Nick, I’m about to come.” He doesn’t say anything to encourage it to happen, he just starts moving with me instead. Knowing how close I am, he knows that including his thrusts with mine will have me going in a heartbeat. Which it does.

I rest my forehead against his shoulder while I catch my breath. He starts walking us backwards towards the riverbank. “Umm, where do you think you’re going? I’m not finished with you.” He stops dead in his tracks. I push the middle of my bikini bottom over and reach between us, grabbing his still very hard cock and lifting myself up slightly to guide it in. Something about how he’s holding my ass and slowly guiding me down as well is a sweet sensation. He easily fills me up and we both let out a sigh of contentment once our bodies are flush against each other.

He lets his forehead rest against mine. “I’ll never get tired of how good you feel Mallory.”

“Good. Let me make you feel as good as you just made me.” I start moving, encouraging him to move me faster and each time he pushes me down I make sure to push myself harder so he’s in as deep as he possibly can be from this angle. “Tell me when you’re close,” I whisper in his ear.

“I’m close now,” he pants. I quickly pull myself off of him. “What are you doing?” Even though I’ve been on the shot I still use protection with Nick but since I don’t have any at the moment, it’s a chance I’m not willing to take. I don’t get on my knees since we are still in the water, but instead I bend over and quickly take his cock into my mouth. “Fuck baby,” he moans.

I pull my mouth off while moving my hand up and down his shaft. “I want you to come in my mouth.” He looks at me with glazed eyes, not saying a word. “Okay?” I ask and he simply nods in reply.

I quicken the pace of my hand as I keep the head of his dick in my mouth, swirling my tongue around it. I’m not all about trying to choke myself out with his cock. I’d rather play it safe. I do know my limits, and deep and shallow throating it didn’t make the list. It doesn’t take long before he goes still and even quits making any sounds. It’s like guys think they have to hold their breath or some shit, but it’s a good indication that you better get prepared for the unleashing of the load because if you aren’t prepared it’s no bueno. As soon as he’s finished releasing himself in my mouth I turn to the side and spit it out. There is a time and a place for swallowing and I have yet to find either of those…ever.

“I’d probably be a spitter too.” He laughs.

“Hell yeah you would be. I don’t see why anyone willingly swallows nut juice. I need a drink STAT, to get the taste of your testes sauce outta my mouth.”

Once we’re back at our campsite, I quickly grab a soda before we change out of our wet clothes and get the fire going. Well, Nick gets the fire going while I get in the cooler and gather up the sandwich stuff to make us our dinner. I need paper plates, chips and bread which is in the tote still in the back of the truck. I don’t bother to pull the whole thing out. No, instead I just grab the items I need. I see a bag that I didn’t pack and pull it out.

“What’s this?” I ask Nick. He runs up abandoning his fire, and snatches the bag from me.

“That’s your dessert. I know how much you love fortune cookies and the silly fortunes.”

I slowly ease my way off of the tailgate; it’s not like I’m known for my cat like reflexes.

“Hey, I resent that statement. I have lost many lotto’s with the lucky numbers on the back, but besides that, the fortunes always seem to pick me up at the right time. So what if that makes me cheesy?” I follow him back to the table.

“Well, hopefully one of these will brighten your night,” he says before kissing me.

“Why do I need a fortune to brighten my night when I have you?” I smack his ass as he makes his way back over to the barely blazing fire.

He quickly looks back at me and playfully rolls his eyes. “Yeah yeah.”

I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I decide on getting my fortune on as I make sandwiches. “Let’s see what this one says.” I crack it open. “‘
You’re gonna get lucky tonight.’
Wow, that one hit the nail right on the head.”

Nick turns around giving me a confused look. “What? Hit the nail right on the head?” He shakes his head at me while trying to cover up his amusement.

“Oh shut it. I never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer.” That only makes him laugh even more.

“Umm, tool in the shed is the most commonly used phrase,” he says as he saunters towards me. “But I personally like all the ones you come up with. They’re much more entertaining.” I slap his arm then turn around to grab another cookie.

“Well, let’s see what silly phrase I can come up with this one. ‘
Marry me’,
” I read aloud. “This one must be a typo.” I turn to sit in on the table and when I turn back to Nick he is on one knee in front of me.

He takes my hand into his. “It’s not a typo Mal. Will you marry me?”

Two months ago I said yes to Nick’s proposal. Trying to plan a wedding with Jesika as my sidekick was a breeze as well. Sometimes I wondered if it was because I wasn’t bubbling over with excitement about the whole shindig. I mean I love Nick to pieces, but I wonder if I was madly head over heels in love with this man, if I’d actually be putting more effort into this wedding. Or if turning into a Bridezilla isn’t in my blood and has nothing to do with my love meter not jumping off the Richter scale.

“Hello! Earth to Mallory!” Jesika snaps her fingers in front of my face. I slap her hand away. “Gah, where’d you check out to?”

“It doesn’t matter, I’m here now.” Don’t really want to admit that I’m having slight doubts that I’m doing the right thing. I’m sure it’s just cold feet anyways.

“Are you sure everything is okay? It’s never too late to change your mind.” She places her hand over mine and lightly grasps it in a reassuring way. I see the worry in her eyes. But she’s living her fairytale. It’s time for me to live my pretty much ever after.

Chapter Twenty

*SETH*

I called Derek last night to make sure everything was good to go for his flight here. I’m now on my way to pick him and Jesika up and all I can do is replay the convo we had last night.

“I have something I want you to hear from me instead of through the grapevine.” He sighed, “Nick and Mallory are getting married next month.”

That’s the last fucking thing I expected to hear. Ever. The thought of Mallory getting married for some reason never crossed my mind.

“Is she pregnant or something? What’s with the fucking rush?” I got pissed the more I thought about it.

“Dude, I don’t know. I just found out about it earlier at work. I knew you’d want to know. You know…so you can win her back and all.” He’s been encouraging me from day one to be this noble man he seems to think I am and fight for my woman, so to speak.

“You know damn well there is no way I can win her back. I ruined it for good. There’s no going back in time and fixing all the mistakes I made. Plus, she deserves better. I’m not good for her.”

I found comfort in being alone to soak in what Derek had told me. How could the life changing moment of us getting a recording deal now take a back seat to what he had told me? Oh yeah, because the fact that Mallory is getting married is life changing…for me.

Finding a parking spot at LAX is a bitch, but I finally manage to get one. Doesn’t mean I didn’t drive around this fucking place for a good fifteen minutes, causing me to be even later than I already was. I hope Derek and Jesika haven’t had to wait too long for me. Since the baggage claim is on my way to the gate, I stop there first just to make sure I don’t end up passing them. As quickly as I can I scan my surroundings…which isn’t quick at all with all the damn people up in here. The place is packed. There’s more personal space in a porta-potty than there is between me and each random person that is waiting for their luggage.

Fuck this bullshit.

I decide to continue my ‘
Where’s Derek & Jes’
journey to the gate of where their plane is supposed to be. I’m hoping I get lucky and it’s late so that I’m not starting off this week by pissing Jes off. I’m really trying to win her over. I don’t want my sister-in-law twice over to hate my guts. I know I hurt her best friend, but damn, there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s in the past so it shouldn’t keep dictating my future.

I’m almost to their gate when I see people flooding out the door.
Sweet, just in time
. I’m propped up against the wall, watching for the happy couple, when my attention is drawn to the left of me. A crying baby. Who would have thought that common noise – yes to most people it’s just noise – would do something to me? But it did. It temporarily causes me to lose focus on all of my surroundings. Seeing the way the baby’s mother is
shushing
her as she holds her in her arms trying to calm her down does something to me. I see the father frantically searching through the diaper bag and quickly whipping out a bottle filled with water, throwing some powder in it and then shaking it. I catch a glimpse of his gold wedding band wrapped around his ring finger and feel a pang of jealousy swarming through me as he stands to placeing his arm around his wife while handing her the bottle with his other hand. Is it too late for me to have that? Did I forever lose the only person I can see myself having that kind of life with? Thinking about it brings up a pain that I have been pushing deeper and deeper down, much like the way I pushed Mallory away. I’m a stupid fucktard.

“Ahem.” My stare fest is interrupted by an amused Jes and an impatient looking Derek.

“How long have you guys been standing there?” I ask, hoping it hasn’t been that long.

“Long enough,” Jesika replies. “Derek here has to take a piss and refused to use the tiny airplane bathroom.”

“Alright, well let’s go find you a bathroom so you can drain your lizard.” I pat Derek on the back.

“More like an anaconda,” he jokes before Jesika chimes in.

“Now baby, don’t go all overboard. There’s a significant difference in size between an anaconda and what I like to call your python.” She winks at him.

“Enough about reptile talk guys. My tadpole is getting jealous.” I push open the door to the restroom, holding it for Derek to go in first.

“Oh, I’m sure your
tadpole
has been getting plenty of attention,” Jes says as the door closes behind me. She’s actually wrong. I’ve been keeping him out of the social spotlight for a while now.

The recording studio was more than I could have ever dreamed of. Besides what I’ve seen on TV, the only thing I had to base any sort of recording session on was the set-up we had in my basement or the get up we had set up on the tour bus. Being in here right now is a total mind fuck — the good kind. It’s so surreal. The records of all the bands that have been here line the hallway. It really is an outer body experience. I check the other guys out to make sure I’m not the only one losing it and see that they all have the same sense of awe in their eyes that I’m feeling.

“Right this way,” the bleach blonde says as she leads us further into the studio. I don’t get why it always seems they have superficial fake broads working in this industry. As if we don’t see enough chicks exactly like that at our shows trying to get in our pants. She’s the typical fake everything. I think the only thing that’s real on this woman is her voice. And fuck if I know, she could have perfectly faked that as well.

Roger walks up to us with excitement in his eyes. “Guys it’s good to see you. This is Justice and he will be the digital God behind your record.”

“What’s up man?” I shake his hand.

“I’m glad to be working with you guys. Today I figured we’d go over some of the basics since this is your first record. Once we get into a rhythm this will all take off and flow and we’ll be done in no time. So, today I want us to lay down the tracks for two songs, and each day after we’ll do more. How does that sound?” He only looks at me as if I’m the sole decision maker.

I look over at Conner and Wesley, who are still in shock, and then back to Derek, who just nods at me. “Fuck yeah. Sounds like a plan.”
