GINA

After the way Matthew had left my office with a cold, "See you at the wedding," I knew that meant that he had no intention of seeing me at any of the wedding events before the wedding. That made me both relieved and sad. Relieved so that I would not have to talk to him about Jared, but sad because I wanted to see him again. One of the wedding events, was at Melissa's parents house which was also Matthew's parents house. However this was to be a bridesmaid's champagne event, sort of like a bachelorette party only classier and during the day with finger sandwiches and elegant conversation. Therefore I was not too nervous about running into Matthew. I also did not think that he was staying at his parents’ home, even though he had purchased a very large house for them after he became a celebrity athlete. Still, I would assume that he would want to stay elsewhere in order to indulge in his player behaviors.

I sat with the rest of the bridesmaids and Melissa playing silly bridal games and eating finger sandwiches. I had to admit it was fun and it was one of the first social events that I had attended since I had dropped out of society ashamed and feeling unworthy of anything. So this was fun for me. After the party was over I stuck around to help clean up a bit. I was taking a tray of empty champagne glasses with lipstick stains on the rim into the kitchen when I heard, "Hey."

I turned to see Matthew outside the French doors lounging on a sundeck chair. As soon as I saw him my heart began to race. He looked absolutely delicious lying there in a casual way with his arms behind his head as though he was in a surrendering position. Thoughts of walking to him and straddling him crossed my mind at lightning speed. I shook those thoughts out of my mind and said, "Hey what are you doing hiding there?"

"I had to go somewhere while the womenfolk had their fun didnt I?" He laughed.

"I suppose so," I laughed as I took a few steps toward him and then I looked around the kitchen.

"Don't be shy, you can come out here," he said as he looked at me with a smile.

"Okay just for a bit," I said as I grabbed two glasses of champagne and walked to him handing him one.

"Thank you," he said.

"You're welcome, are you staying here?" I asked as I took a drink and sat down on a lounge chair next to him.

"Yeah I am. I bought it so I guess I might as will stay here," he laughed as he looked at me.

Then he continued and said, "I'm glad that you are here. I wanted to talk to you about something," he said.

"You did? About what?" I said starting to feel a little panicked.

"Remember the night of your graduation?" He asked in a seductive manner. I nearly spit out my champagne as I thought about that night.

"Yes, a night I will never forget. I am surprised that you remember," I said shocked by what he was telling me. I thought that we would never speak of this night and such a casual manner. That he would speak of it in a seductive way, and not because he had found out about Jared was not what I expected.

"Are you kidding? I think about that night all the time. It is something that I will never forget. For me, it was a really hot night. It was some of the best sex that I've ever had even till this day," he said in a serious tone.

"Really? But you date models and actresses that are absolutely beautiful. So I find that hard to believe," I said lowering my lashes and feeling myself blush.

"Yes, but I do not have a connection with any of those women. Not the way I had connected with you after knowing you for so long. That's what makes good chemistry," he said.

I felt myself beginning to get flushed and turned on by his words. I was in a real danger of being truthful and honest with him because he was being honest with me about how he feels. It was a very intoxicating conversation. Then I remembered that he was a professional player. He knew exactly how to talk to women and what to say. This is how a player got women into bed. They were not the aggressive types, they would go after a woman's heart and I was already falling for it. I quickly stood up and said, "I should be going. I'm supposed to be here for Melissa and her party," then I turned and walked away. He said something as I walked back inside but I was moving so quickly and so nervous that I could not hear him. I just continued through the kitchen and into the main room where I found Melissa.

"Melissa I am sorry I just got a phone call from the babysitter and Jared is not feeling well so I must get home. I had such a lovely time and I will be at the next event and look forward to the wedding," I said is I gave her a quick hug and kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for coming Gina, I hope your little one feels better soon. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do. I would be happy to bring him chicken soup," she said with a smile.

"That is very sweet, but I would not want you to catch a cold or whatever he might have before your wedding. That would absolutely ruin your day, but I will let you know when he is better, "I said as I quickly grabbed my purse and keys and headed out.

That night I was still so turned on by what Matthew had said to me that I masterbated myself to sleep. I had too. I had to get some relief from the built up pressure.

MATTHEW

I could not stop thinking about Gina after I left her office that day. Now I was looking forward to the wedding events that my sister had planned through out the next few days because I would have a chance to see Gina again. I needed to find out what was going on with her and I needed to know now. I knew that she was hiding something big and I wasn’t going to find out unless I was in her life. More so, the more I tried to be in her life and the more she rejected me, the more I wanted her. She had ignited old feelings in me that I thought were lost. Seeing her in the flesh and then having these strange interactions with her made me feel something. It was something that I had not felt in a long time. It was real genuine passion and not lust. I had only been feeling lust for the models and actresses I dated in Hollywood. It was all part of that lifestyle. But now this was different. I was intrigued

I knew that Melissa was having an event today at my parents home for the bridesmaids, so I stuck around. I stayed in the background out of the way, but where I could easily sneak Gina away. As I heard the party winding down I made my way to the atrium outside the French glass doors in the kitchen. I laid back on a lounge chair relaxing but with a watchful eye toward the kitchen. Soon enough I saw her. Gina walked in by herself with a trey full of dirty champagne glasses.

"Hey." I said to her from outside on my chair. She looked around confused for a bit until she saw me. Then she smiled at me. She looked at my body up and down taking it all in and I liked that. It felt good. Perhaps she did want me after all?

Then she said "Hey what are you doing hiding there?"

"I had to go somewhere while the womenfolk had their fun didnt I?" I laughed.

"I suppose so," she laughed as she took a few steps toward me and then looked around the kitchen.

"Don't be shy, you can come out here," I said as I looked at her with a welcoming smile.

"Okay just for a bit," she said as she grabbed two glasses of champagne and walked to me handing me one.

"Thank you," I said.

"You're welcome, are you staying here?" she asked as she took a drink and sat down on a lounge chair next to me.

"Yeah I am. I bought it so I guess I might as will stay here," I laughed as I looked at her.

Then I continued and said, "I'm glad that you are here. I wanted to talk to you about something.”

"You did? About what?" she said starting to be a little panicked.

"Remember the night of your graduation?" I asked in a seductive manner. She nearly spit out the champagne and that made me smile.

"Yes, a night I will never forget. I am surprised that you remember," she said shocked.

"Are you kidding? I think about that night all the time. It is something that I will never forget. For me, it was a really hot night. It was some of the best sex that I've ever had even till this day," I said in a serious tone.

"Really? But you date models and actresses that are absolutely beautiful. So I find that hard to believe," she said lowering her lashes at turning a slight blush.

"Yes, but I do not have a connection with any of those women. Not the way I had connected with you after knowing you for so long. That's what makes good chemistry," I said.

Then she quickly stood up and said, "I should be going. I'm supposed to be here for Melissa and her party," then she turned and walked away. I called after her, “But I don’t want you to leave…” but I don’t think she heard me.

I was sad to see her go. I really did want to reminisce about our sexual escapade. It was a hot night and I wanted her to remember it with me. I guess that I would just have to try harder.

GINA

The next night I could not believe what happened. It was after midnight and I was sound asleep, and Jared was in his room sleeping. I heard the sound of rocks hitting the glass of my bedroom window. At first I thought it was a bird in my sleepy state. Then it got louder and I heard, "Gina! Gina!" It was unmistakably the voice of Matthew. I got up from my bed quickly and ran to the window and pulled it open.

"Matthew? What are you doing? Have you lost your mind?" I said in a shouting whisper.

"Why do you keep avoiding me? What are you hiding? What is your secret? No one treats Matthew Jenison the way you are treating me," he slurred out the words and that is when I realized that he was drunk. I could not believe it. He had got drunk and found out where I lived. Then he came over here to harass me in this manner.

"Matthew, you are drunk. Go home. Someone will see you and you will be all over the gossip and tabloid papers! Is that what you want?" I said trying to get him to leave.

"You want me to leave! Fine I will leave!" He said as he fumbled with keys in his hand and they fell onto the grass.

"Shit," I said as I realize that I could not let him drive. Not in this way. I went downstairs and opened the door to him.

"Come in Matthew. You can sleep it off on the couch. You're not going to drive," I said is I took the keys away from him. He said something else that I could not understand because he was so drunk. I helped him stumble inside and laid him on the couch and pulled the blanket over him. In a few seconds he passed out cold. I could not believe this. The one person that I did not want in my house I now had sleeping on my sofa in the living room. I watched him sleeping and saw just how beautiful he was. He was so tall that he almost did not fit on my couch and that sort of made me laugh. This celebrity basketball player was nothing more then a lost man that didn't know why I was treating him the way I was. I sort of got a kick out of the fact that me ignoring him was driving him crazy, but I was sure that it was just because he saw me as a challenge and nothing more. Once a player like him was challenged by a woman, they wanted to conquer her and then be done with her. I paced back-and-forth and had to come up with a plan so that he did not meet my son. I picked up the phone and called Jessica asking her to be over as early as she could in the morning to pick up Jared. She agreed. I hardly slept the rest of the night fearing that my son would accidentally meet his dad.

In the morning I made strong coffee and waited for the gorgeous man on my sofa to wake up. I had successfully snuck Jared out an hour before with my sister Jessica who took him to her place. Finally the man awoke.

"Shit, what a my doing here?" He laughed a little.

"You mean you do not remember?" I asked him with an arched eyebrow.

"No, I feel very embarrassed. I woke up and did not know where I was, which is pretty normal for me. Then once I saw you sitting here I felt comfortable and glad that I was here. Did we…?" He said clearing his throat.

"No, we did not." I said laughing. "I woke up to you throwing rocks at my window, and then yelling and shouting different things at me from the grass. Then you threatened to driveway. So I took your keys and helped you stumble into my couch where you passed out immediately. End of story," I said looking at him and putting my hands on my hips.

"Shit, Gina I am very sorry. I got really drunk and I don't remember anything. I hope you can forgive me," he said as I handed him a cup of coffee.

"I forgive you," I said.

"So, can I meet him? Is he here?" He said looking around the room. "Your son, Jared is he here? I heard he wasn't feeling well. Perhaps you and I can take him to get soup or something to make him feel better."

"He is actually at my sisters house. He stayed the night there last night. "I said moving around the kitchen as though I needed to be somewhere. "I need to get dressed soon to go to work. Are you OK to drive now?"

He said nothing and only stared at me for a long time. I felt like he was staring right through me. I was so nervous that I started to sweat. Then he finally said, "yes I am OK to drive. Thank you for taking care of me. I will go now." Then he got up and gave me a long look and walked out. I knew then, that he knew because I turned behind me and realize that his long luck was not directed at me. It was a photo of Jared and I, and it was a large one. He could clearly see Jared, and I knew then that he knew that Jared was his.
