With Sam on his shoulders and Joanie walking beside him, his arm wrapped around her waist, he turned around to look at the grave again. It must have been his eyes but he thought he saw someone wave at him and then within a blink of his eye, the image was gone.

Thanks, Dad. “Who wants a hot fudge sundae?”

“Me?” Sam kicked her legs and wrapped her arms around his head.

“Mama? How about you?”

“I”m gonna be fat before the month is over. Okay, I”ll have one, too.”

“Good, Mama.”

“Don”t you miss Manhattan, Julian?”

“No, babe. I love it here. After all, this is where my heart is.” Joanie smiled up at him, squeezing his side. He leaned down for a quick kiss making Sam squeal. Yup, he loved it here.
