Luke moved his napkin to my lap and shoved his hand up my dress. Silencing me completely.

“You got Luke to dance in front of other people? How drunk did you have to get him?” Lexi was looking between the two of us.

“Oh, you know, not that drunk. He actually really—”

Luke hooked his ankle around my chair leg and scooted me farther forward. His index finger started a slow rub against my clit. “Harlow is a great teacher, and I didn’t know anyone at the little beach bar where we were. Kind of easy to dance like no one is watching when literally
no one
is watching.”

Lexi nodded and then went back to her food.

Luke leaned down and whispered in my ear, “I don’t dance, Pixie.”

“You just got up and danced with me a few hours ago.” I was talking through gritted teeth. “How was I supposed to know you didn’t normally do that?”

“We were swaying around with my goddaughter. Not reenacting the final scene from
Dirty Dancing
.” He placed a kiss on my temple to make it seem like we were having an intimate moment. Which we were, because his fingers were still playing with my panties. “Calm down. You’re going all spastic on me.”

I turned my body toward him, inadvertently making his fingers slip more firmly against me. I closed my eyes and bit my lip. When I opened them, Luke wore a cocky grin. “I’m calm now. So can you, please, remove your hand?”

He shook his head, slowly back and forth. “You know, I don’t think I will. You’ve been playing me all day. You’ve been naked constantly. Last night you slept on the other side of the bed, and you’ve been showering alone. My balls feel like they are going to rupture.” He leaned close and whispered in my ear, “It’s my turn to play.” He moved my thong to the side and pinched my clit.

“Who scheduled the jet to take off so damn early?” Jacks pointed at Dash. “Was it you? You figured your kid would be up so we might as well all be?”

“We have appointments tomorrow afternoon, we didn’t have any other choice.” Dash handed Lexi the baby so he could eat. They took turns. It was sweet really.
Wait.

“Wait. Did you say we fly out first thing in the morning? I didn’t know it was time to head out again already. What time does the plan leave? Is it a nonstop flight? I thought—”

Luke’s finger moved to my center, ignoring my gasp. “I thought maybe it would be better if you didn’t know the flight was coming. Then you wouldn’t have time to freak out about it.” He addressed the table. “Harlow hates to fly.”

Bryan looked between us. “She hates to fly and you thought springing it on her was the best option?”

All female eyes turned to Luke. I sort of liked this team mentality they had going when the focus wasn’t on my legs. He dipped his chin. “It just seemed like the less time she had to work herself up the easier it would be. It’s the anticipation that’s the worst part, right?”

Smith nodded. “Makes sense to me.” All female eyes shifted to Smith. He held his hands up. “But what do I know? I’m not a psychologist or anything.”

Wow, the men really caved under pressure. Good to know. I reached across the table for my gin. I downed it and then took a deep calming breath. “I will be fine. Planes are safer than cars. I could die crossing the street. Everything happens for a reason. If it’s my time then it’s—”

Luke slipped his finger fully inside me. I turned to look at him, eyes narrowed. He just grinned and crooked his finger toward my stomach. “Calm. Down.” My breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t handle any more without having an orgasm right here at the table. Denying him had me wound so tight, I could snap at any moment. I scooted back quickly, getting away from his talented digits.

Luke chuckled and then licked his finger, his eyes holding mine.

My face was most likely bright red. Between the plane and Luke turning me on like a light switch.

Bryan reached across the table and snapped her fingers in front of Luke’s face. “Stop telling her to calm down all the time. Let her own her crazy. The rest of us sure as hell do.”

Smith smiled kindly in my direction. “It’s okay. I don’t really like to fly either. Musicians always seem to be the ones to perish in plane crashes.”

I knew his words were said to help me, to let me know I wasn’t alone. But now all I could think about was how true that statement was and how I was going to be flying with a band. And how, if a plane was going to crash, it was going to be ours. My breathing turned shallow. I couldn’t seem to get in a good amount of air. I was starting to sweat.

“Pix. Are you okay?”

I nodded my head, wringing my hands together. “Yeah. Fine.” I knew Bryan said to own my crazy, but I was seconds away from starting to rock back and forth. I hated to fly, I always semi lost it on the plane. But this was ridiculous. This reaction had to be a culmination of everything that was happening. My dad, Luke, lying, my crush…

Luke squeezed my thigh. “Harlow? Baby, tell me what to do—”

“You know, I can probably get you a prescription for some anxiety meds.” Dylan was studying me from the other end of the table. “Have you ever tried those when you fly?”

“I have a weird reaction to those kinds of pills. I get super loopy. And since I usually fly alone, it just never seemed that safe.” Oh here it comes. I started to rock.

Luke stood and scooted his chair back. He took me by the hand, helping me up. “We’ll be right back.” I let him lead me away from the table, not that I really seemed to have a choice. His grip on my arm was like a steel trap. I didn’t know where we were going. I was hoping it was somewhere with fresh air and a quiet corner I could effectively lose my marbles in.

He turned down a dimly lit hallway and then whirled me around and slammed my back against a wall. Before I could even register what was happening his mouth was on mine. His tongue stroking mine, one hand on my face, the other climbing the inside of my thigh. I let my head fall back, prompting him to place kisses down the column of my neck. He spoke, his breath soft on my skin. “That better, baby?”

I nodded. “Good distraction tactic. Always feel free to distract me this way, please.” Maybe I could just get a prescription for Luke. He could keep his mouth on my body during all flights.

“I didn’t mean to upset you, to make the anxiety worse. I was only trying to help. I promise.”

I gripped his shaggy blond hair in my hands. “I know. It’s fine. I’m fine. I think these past few days have just been a little much and everything sort of hit at once.” I scratched my nails up his back. “You touching me under the table was a nice little diversion though.”

Both of us were whispering to the other, hands and mouths searching for skin to caress. He rubbed his thumbs over my nipples. Even through the material of my bra and dress, they still peaked. “You tasted so good on my fingers, baby.”

I whimpered and I hiked my leg up his hip. I wanted his hard cock against my aching center. It’d been too long since he touched me like this. I’d never had sex with this man, we’d only ever kissed and played. But, my God, I wanted him. I wanted him unlike I’d ever wanted anyone else, ever. I tried to push it away. I tried to keep him at arm’s length. But I was done. All self-preservation had flown out the window the second my back had hit this wall. Consequences be damned. “Luke.” His name came out on a moan.

He picked his head up, squeezing my bare ass cheeks in his hands. His smile was cocky. “Harlow?”

I threaded my fingers through his hair and stood on my toes, biting his lower lip. “Let’s get out of here.”

His eyes searched my face. “Really? Why? Where do you want to go?” He seemed wary, guarded.

I put my mouth next to his ear, my tongue darting out to lick his lobe. “I want you to take me back to our room. I want you to take me to our bed. And then I want you inside of me.” I arched my back, rubbing myself against him.

He pulled back and narrowed his eyes. “Which part of me? Because certain parts of me are feeling really neg—”

I palmed his rigid cock.

“Thank God.” He pushed into me until there was no space separating our bodies. He captured my mouth once again, kissing me deep and hard. He fisted my hair in one hand and my thigh in the other. I couldn’t quiet my moans; my body was on fire for this man. I had been burning for him since that first kiss and—

“Whoa. Finally got a good view and Dash was right. You have killer legs, Lo.”

Luke rested his head on my chest, panting. “Really, dude? Can’t we get a little privacy?”

Jacks’ gaze darted around. “You’re in the hallway leading to the bathroom. You know that, right? Dozens of people have probably walked past you two in the last five minutes.” He was looking at us like we’d lost our minds. A woman came out the restroom and squeezed past, shooting us an annoyed expression. He leaned forward dropping his voice so only we could hear. “Is that your thing, man? An audience? I know I play it all aloof and cool, but I’m really dying to know. What are you into?”

He’d asked him that before, a couple of times. Was Luke into some kink? Would it change my mind if he was? I thought about that for a second.

Luke started to respond, and I quickly covered his mouth with my hand, my mind made up. “Don’t ruin the surprise.” He wrapped an arm around my neck, whispering dirty promises in my ear. I winked at Jacks as we walked away.

Chapter Twenty-six

Lexi

Jacks came back and sat down at the table, politely placing his napkin in his lap. “I think Luke and Harlow have left for the evening.”

I started to panic. Were they fighting? Had I pushed too hard today, gone too far? “Did they seem okay? Was Lo pissed about the plane stuff? The leg comments? Did we lose her?”

Dash put his hand on my leg. “Kitten, I’m sure they’re fine.”

Jacks looked over at Landry to make sure she wasn’t listening. “They were basically fucking up against a wall. I think he was messing with her under the table too.”

Smith leaned close to Jacks and whispered, “Yeah? Good for Luke.”

Bryan pointed to their plates. “They weren’t even done eating.”

Jacks pursed his lips, speaking louder this time. “I think Luke is probably planning on grabbing dessert at the hotel, if you know what I mean.”

I relaxed back in my chair. Okay, so he still wanted her body, we were still in the game. I mean, leaving a huge family dinner to go home and bang? That was the big leagues as far as I was concerned. These guys didn’t blow each other off, ever.

Landry raised her hand. “Can I go with Uncle Luke and Lo and have dessert at the hotel too?”

“No, Buttercup.” Jacks hid his laughter in his glass of water. “But if you want dessert, you can order it here. I think Uncle Luke left his credit card to pay for dinner.”

Landry nodded wisely. “Must have been to make up for leaving the table without finishing his vegetables.”

Smith signaled our waiter. “Can we get a bottle of the Jack Daniels Sinatra, please?” He pointed at Landry. “And a dessert menu for my niece.”

I shook my head, looking between Jacks and Smith. “Did you just order a five-hundred-dollar bottle of whiskey? Really?”

Dash winked. “Good thing Smith spoke up first because the bottle I was going to suggest is closer to three grand.”

Chapter Twenty-seven

Luke

After Harlow had all but made me come in my pants like a horny teenager, I’d left my credit card information and instructions to pay the whole bill then climbed into a waiting town car. We didn’t bother telling anyone good-bye. I was sure Jacks would fill them in. It may have been rude, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I’d wanted Lo since the moment I saw her. Her crazy ass was intoxicating.

A big part of me was afraid to believe this was actually happening. “Before I get my hopes up too high. I just need to know, what made you change your mind? Was it because I told you I liked you?”

She shook her head. “I’m not sixteen, Luke. I’m saying yes now because I want to, because I want you.”

I took her hand in mine. “I don’t want to hurt you, Lo. I want to be whole for you. Be good for you.” That was the fucking truth. Yeah, this was moving fast, but I’d been wishing I could be right for her for the past three days. And I hadn’t wanted that in a really long time—if ever.

Harlow let out a big sigh. “Stop doing things for other people, kid. Be whole for you. Be good for
you
. I’m here. I like you, even with your broken heart. It’s part of you. I’m not asking you to dismiss it. No one is.”

She was everything Jacks said we needed. She was perfect for me. Apparently I was surrounded by crazy people who saw the world a hell of a lot clearer than I did. “You’re amazing.”

With a small smile, she shrugged. “I know.”

I chuckled. “I’m glad you acted like a complete psycho on that plane.”

“Me too.”

I’d tasted her lips, her skin, her pussy. But I needed more. What she’d given me wasn’t enough. I’d agreed to her no-sex rule because I’d understood where she was coming from. Hell, I’d agreed. I never wanted to hurt her. I never wanted my sadness to dull her light. But now I couldn’t deny I had feelings for her,
real
feelings, and I couldn’t stay away.

We rode in comfortable silence the rest of the way to the hotel, her head resting on my shoulder and my hand on her inner thigh. When the car finally pulled to the curb, I basically dragged her inside and through the lobby.

“Is the elevator fucking broken?” I reached out and pushed the button ten more times in rapid succession.

Harlow snorted. “You know pushing it more than once doesn’t actually make it move any faster, right?”

I wrapped my arms around her neck, drawing her closer. “I have waited days to get inside that tight body of yours. I’m seconds away from throwing you over my shoulder and taking the stairs.” I looked around the empty corridor, searching for the exit.

There was a ding and the elevator doors finally opened. Lo grabbed my shirt and pulled me into the car. “I made you wait
days
? You poor baby.” She shoved me to the other side of the small space and then backed herself against the wall. She was biting her lip, smiling.
