Papa made his way to her pussy, leaving kisses down her stomach. Demi knew something was going on, but she didn’t know exactly what.

Papa took his frustrations out on her love nest. He sucked, licked, kissed, nibbled, bit, and devoured her from the inside out. Papa didn’t let up, even when Demi begged for him to stop and give her a chance to breathe, he continued feasting.

Tears sprang out of Demi’s eyes as she continued to pour into Papa’s mouth. Never had she felt this good before. She was sure he would leave bruises on her thighs the way his claws dug into her skin to keep her legs from suffocating his face.

“Papaaaaaa!” she screamed his name, full of lust and love.

Papa was giving her the business. She knew he had to be tired from being down below for so long, but apparently not, because he never stopped.

And when she thought she couldn’t go any higher, he pulled his lips from her clit, relieving her of the pressure and slid off of the bed and went into the bathroom, locking the door and turning the shower on.

Demi wondered what that was about. Papa had given her head before without them having sex, but never had she heard him cry minutes after.

In fact, it was Demi’s first time hearing him cry and the sound broke her heart because instead of her holding and comforting him, he was behind closed doors going through God knows what all by himself….

***

Demi didn’t know how to accept the news that her gynecologist just gave her. She left the doctor’s office and sat in Papa’s Porsche trying her hardest to process the words, “Congratulations you’re pregnant”.

Demi had nothing to celebrate because she didn’t want a baby, not right now at least. She had forty-nine days until her suspension was lifted and now she was pregnant.

Demi wanted to curse God and ask Him why was He doing this to her. Was she really living in such a bad way that He felt the need to punish her by taking the one thing she was good at? The one thing that made her heart flutter and jump?

Demi remained patient as the time winded down for her to go back to school. She found something else to occupy her mind and now that the days were flying by, a baby had to appear.

She knew abortion was out of the question. The thought didn’t even cross her mind. She could never take away a blessing from above, but damn it, the timing was wrong.

Demi knew that no one was to blame for the fetus growing inside of her. She and Papa were having sex recklessly.

Sometimes he pulled out, sometimes he didn’t, sometimes she took her birth control, and other days it didn’t cross her mind.

Demi couldn’t even cry. She was becoming a woman and when you did grown woman shit you had to deal with the repercussions and in her case, it was becoming a mother in eight months.

Demi made her way home to take a bath and lay down before Papa made it home.

He was going through something and refusing to talk about it. Instead, he preferred to fuck her until they fell asleep. She hadn’t been complaining at all, but tonight sex would be the last thing on her mind. They would be having a serious talk over dinner. It was time for Papa to leave The Underworld. Demi would not be bringing her baby into this world with him still in the streets. Demi knew she was too young to be married, but that was something they could discuss later.

After a while Demi put her trust in God, apparently He had something better in store for her that she knew nothing about. She would have her child and still run her dance studio, and once her baby was of age and could go to daycare, she would return to school.

Just because she was putting her dreams on the back burner for now didn’t mean that it was forever. In due time Demi would be back on stage.  That was one dream she refused to give up on.

Demi passed the exit to go home and instead kept straight to the rehab where her mother was. Her father told her a few weeks ago that her mom joined a program to get her shit together and Demi was happy to hear the good news. It was confirmation that her prayers had been answered by God.

Demi parked near the front and went to the check-in to ask for Dorane Little-Westbrook.

“Today must be your lucky day,” the receptionist said, cheerfully.

Demi asked, “What made you say that?” She was curious to know, considering she just found out she was having a baby and wouldn’t be able to dance immediately, so for it to be a lucky day, Demi wasn’t so sure.

“Today is visitor day,” the lady told her, as if she was supposed to already know that.

Demi smiled. “Oh yes, definitely my lucky day.”

“Wow, you have a beautiful smile. Has anyone ever told you that before?” the lady asked.

Demi had heard it a million times but she shook her head and told the woman, “No.”

“You are the spitting image of Dorane, my gosh. She’s been in a funk since she came in, so to see her daughter should put a smile on her face today,” the woman told her.

“Does she get many visitors?” Demi asked.

“No, none at all,” the lady told her.

Demi already knew that. Her mom had many friends, but it was all for show. In reality, she was a lonely and miserable woman and Demi had been her world.

Demi didn’t mind being her mother’s world, even after she said some hurtful shit to her. It was just now instead of having sleepovers Demi would be going home to her man.

The receptionist showed Demi to the library where Dorane hung out the majority of the day. Demi walked down a hallway looking for her mother, not to Demi’s surprise she found her in the Autobiography section.

Dorane was an avid lover of history. She had always been obsessed with the past lives of people before they became famous.

“What are you doing here?” Dorane removed her red Prada frames from the tip of her nose and stared at Demi.

“I came to see you. How you were doing? Daddy told me you were here,” Demi told her mother, happily.

Dorane didn’t return the warm gesture.

“Oh did he? Did he tell you he was moving to Florida with his little girlfriend while he’s calling you telling you all my business?” Dorane asked.

Demi shook her head. “No ma’am.”

Dorane couldn’t believe Isaac sometimes. Always wanting to look like motherfucking father of the year, but he wouldn’t receive her energy today, not today. So all she told Demi was, “Hmm.”

Demi didn’t want to talk about her daddy. “Well I’m here now, what are you reading? I just finished a really good book.” She pulled on the seat next to her mother.

Dorane pushed the chair back in to the table.

“Demi, you’re not welcomed here,” she told her, and went back to reading her book.

“Mama.” Demi tried to get her mom to talk to her.

“Every time I see you, my heart breaks. You think that all the diamonds and the bags mean something? That doesn’t mean he loves you. I gave you everything you wanted so those things didn’t impress you and look at you, like the rest of them dumb young girls you hang with, just like them,” she spat.

Demi’s mother didn’t know her at all. She didn’t even allow Papa to spoil her and it had caused several arguments between them during the past year they had been together. She wasn’t impressed with the hoopla and holler and Papa knew that about her.

“Why is it so hard for you to believe that maybe he really loves me?” she asked her mother, with tears in her eyes.

“Because guys like him don’t deserve good girls like you,” her mother told her. “Now get out of my face before I page security,” Dorane threatened.

Demi stared at her mother and Dorane stared back at her until she got nervous at what her mother might come across the table and do. She walked away telling herself that this time she wouldn’t return, and she meant it.

She wiped tears from her face as the receptionist asked, “Awww, you’re leaving already?”

Demi told her, “More errands to run.” She was getting good with lying and she hated that.

Demi took her ID from the lady and went back to her car. She didn’t know what was going on with her and why she felt so abandoned, but it was making her a stronger woman, she did know that.

When Demi got home, she ran her a bubble bath and soaked for an hour or two. Every time the water gave her the chills she would refill with hot water.

Papa’s loud and raspy voice took her from her meditation. “Babe!” he called out.

Demi didn’t bother saying anything back. She knew Papa’s nosey ass would barge through the bathroom door any second now. Lo and behold, two minutes later with a long blunt dangling in between his lips, her boyfriend stood over her.

“What you doing?” he asked.

“What does it look like?” Demi questioned.

“Bad day?” Papa peeped the attitude early on, especially since she hadn’t called or texted him all day to check on him and say I love you, that wasn’t like Demi at all.

“No,” she told him.

“Well, when you get done chilling get dressed,” Papa told her.

“Where are we going?” she asked, in an irritated tone.

“Nasir’s house,” he told her.

Demi rolled her eyes. She wasn’t in the mood to be around people. “I’ll stay here,” Demi told her boyfriend.

“Nah babe, I need you to go with me, everybody bringing they girl,” he said.

“How long do I have to get dressed?” she questioned.

“No rush, I didn’t wanna be on time anyway,” Papa told her and walked out of the bathroom.

Although he didn’t give a fuck about being on time, Demi did. Since she represented him she would be dressed to the nines, no matter how bloated she felt or the bad mood she was in.

“That’s what you wearing?” Demi asked Papa, once she made it down the steps. He turned around from playing the game and stared at his girl. She was definitely growing up and he loved it.

The Roberto Cavalli dress she wore left him with little breath in his body.

“You look good as hell,” he told his girlfriend, as he stood to his feet.

“Thank you. So since you see me so dressed up you don’t wanna run upstairs and change real quick? We have time,” she told him.

He looked down at his outfit. “What’s wrong with what I have on?” Papa eyed the acid-washed jeans he wore and the t-shirt.

“Your shirt is wrinkled,” Demi complained.

“Man, fuck these niggas. They better be happy I’m coming,” he told her.

Demi dropped her head. She was praying in advance that tonight was a smooth night, where everyone could finally come together.

***

“Are you sure about this?” Demi whispered in his ear, as they waited on someone to come to the front door.

She noticed the discord on Papa’s face and he was uptight and appeared to be aggravated and somewhat uncomfortable. She knew things weren’t peaches and cream between him and his friends, especially since the night Papa was shot at.

He pulled her closer to him. “We good, I’m good.”

Jordyn answered the door finally with a champagne flute in her hand.

Demi smiled at her. “Hello.”

Jordyn returned the warm gesture and Papa walked past both of them.

Demi shook her head. “I’m Demi,” she introduced herself.

“Girl, we have heard all about you, come on in,”’ she told her, looping her arm in Demi’s. Demi dropped her clutch on the table in the front entrance where she saw the other purses.

Papa went to Nasir’s man cave where he knew the crew was. Demi was a social person so he wasn’t worried about her being uncomfortable.

Demi was introduced to Julia, Roderick’s wife, and another girl who Demi didn’t catch her name.

“Well I guess it’s just us tonight. I ordered food, I wasn’t in the mood to cook,” Jordyn admitted.

Demi said, “I know the feeling.”

“You’re too young to be slaving over a hot stove,” Julia told Demi.

She smiled sheepishly but said nothing. Two rooms down from the kitchen, Demi heard some ruckus and she looked at Jordyn who didn’t appear to be concerned, but she was…

“Damn, you came here on bullshit?” Malachi complained.

“Why do you have Sasha following me?” Papa asked.

Nasir didn’t care that Papa walked in HIS house and didn’t speak, he wasn’t fazed by Papa slamming the door and standing in front of him looking pissed off.

“Papa, if you don’t get your balls out of my face, my man it will be a problem,” Nasir warned.

Papa smirked. He loved to see Mr. Cool out of character. “Answer my question,” Papa told him.

“Why the fuck would I have Sasha following you? Damn, are you guilty of something?” Nasir asked.

“Man, stop playing with me, like, straight up!” Papa said.

He didn’t appreciate being played like he was a dummy.

“Papa, sit down please,” Sean asked.

“I’m not talking to you,” Papa told him.

Nasir sat back in his seat. He wasn’t going to keep staring at the print of this nigga pants. Papa fell back a little and waited on a response.

“I think you’re too hot.” Nasir finally said what they all had been thinking.
