Two
more thrusts and Tyler’s hoarse cries rang through the air, and heat flooded
her body again, his teeth biting into her opposite shoulder.
She
collapsed onto Brandon’s chest, panting and unable to open her eyes. Every cell
of her body, every corner of her, was sated. She’d never been so at peace, so
genuinely blissful. She’d found everything she’d ever needed.
Tyler
pulled out of her and collapsed next to them, pulling her over so that Brandon
rolled and they sandwiched her between their bodies.
Laura
looked down at her body, expecting to see something different, a change. Her
whole world had just tilted on its axis. Surely there would be a sign?
“I
won’t turn into a lion now, will I?”
Brandon
chuckled.
“No, baby.
Shifters are born, not made.”
She
sighed and settled into them, letting contentment wash over her like a
cleansing rain.
“Though you will carry our marks
forever.”
Brandon
traced the place over her shoulder where he bit her and Laura forced her eyes
open to see a set of feline bite marks the size of a human’s.
She
whipped her head around to the other side and laughed as she saw the twin
markings. They were far enough out that no one would ever see them, not that it
mattered. She’d entered a new world now.
“Good.
Now everyone knows I’m yours.”
Brandon
grunted and kissed her hair. “Damn straight.”
“You
complete us, Laura. You’re out center, our whole world.” Tyler kissed her neck
and she sighed against him.
They
were her everything. She knew in her heart of hearts that as long as she
trusted them and loved them as they did her, there was no hurdle they wouldn’t
fly over together.
Epilogue
Three Months
Later
“Laura,
Brandon, and Tyler, you are now bonded for life.”
A
roar went up around them and Laura lifted her face toward her men, her whole
being so happy she could barely contain the scream she wanted to let loose.
Brandon kissed her first, his mouth possessive and strong,
his
tongue slipping in to taste her. He made her moan.
When
he stepped away, Tyler slid into his place, cupping her face and kissing her
with such sweetness and love that two tears slipped down her cheeks.
Her
perfect pair, everything she’d ever wanted, and so much more.
“I
love you,” Tyler whispered against her lips as he pulled back. Laura looked up
and into his brown eyes, blinking away the happy tears that had gathered once
again.
“And
I love you.”
She
turned her head and extended her hand. Brandon gripped it and squeezed, “I love
you, too.” Laura said to her big lion,
who
grinned and
winked.
Classic Brandon.
Tyler
turned her toward the group of people who had gathered on their parents’
property to witness their mating. She had legally married Tyler during the week
in a small ceremony surrounded by her family and friends, but this was the more
important of the two ceremonies.
“Let’s
celebrate.”
Laura
was pulled forward into a maelstrom of people. Hugs, kisses, and
congratulations flowed around her as she was whirled from one set of strong
arms to another. By the time they’d all finished taking a piece of her, she
could barely stand up. She collapsed onto a garden seat, gasping for breath in
her too-tight wedding dress.
“Laura,
you look absolutely beautiful.”
Tom
and John stood before her, looking powerful and handsome in their black suits.
“Wow,
you two look amazing.”
They
both inclined their heads, but seemed distracted, their eyes straying over to
an area near the food tables. Laura turned around and looked in the same
direction but couldn’t see anything of note.
“What
are you two looking at?”
She
put out a hand and John lifted her up.
“Oh,
that’s better.” Her bodice was boned, giving her waist a beautiful indent, but
it wasn’t the easiest thing to maneuver around in.
“Laura, who is that woman in the
grey silk dress?”
Laura’s
eyes widened as Tom asked the question. That was a lot of detail for a man to
notice, and what was with the tone of Tom’s voice?
She
turned and scanned the area, happiness filling her chest when she realized who
they were talking about.
“Oh,
she came!” Laura clapped her hands and took a step in that direction.
Tom’s
hand came around her arm as quickly as a rattlesnake and stopped her in her
tracks.
“Is
she a friend of yours, Laura?”
Tom’s
voice was even deeper now, raspy even.
Uh-oh.
“Yes…she’s
my cousin from up north. I invited her to the other wedding but she couldn’t
come, so I told her about today but said it started at three rather than two,
so she’d miss the ceremony itself. Though…” she tapped her foot a little and
pulled her arm out of Tom’s grip.
“I
won’t be upset if she knows about Tyler and Brandon. My family will work it out
eventually.”
Her
sister was finally over the shock and was now so envious that she was currently
scanning the area for more sets of twins for herself.
“Can
you introduce us to her?” Tom asked, his face showing a weird type of strain
that Laura hadn’t seen before on this man. But she had seen it on Tyler and
Brandon.
“Sure…”
She walked through the throng of people and made her way to Ashleigh’s side. If
she was right, then her gorgeous cousin’s life was about to change forever.
“You
came!” she cried and threw herself on a woman who’d doted on her when she was a
child.
Ashleigh
laughed and hugged her back, their heights and sizes of almost exact
proportions. Laura pulled back and stared down at the woman she hadn’t seen in
five years.
“You
look like shit, Ash.”
Ashleigh
smiled,
sadness evident in her beautiful blue eyes.
The radiance of her older cousin was gone, the glow of her skin tinged with
grey. What had happened to her?
“Thanks
sweetie, I know.
Whereas you look bloody fantastic.”
Laura
did a twirl and stuck her hip out at an angle, playing the game.
“Why,
thank you, darling.
The love of a good man…and all that.”
Ash quirked an eyebrow at her.
“Or men perhaps?”
Heat
flooded Laura’s cheeks and her stomach dropped. She searched her cousin’s face
for signs of discrimination or disgust, but there was none there.
“Yeah…well…”
Ashleigh
chuckled, and reached over to squeeze her hand. “As long as you are happy,
honey.”
Laura
nodded and felt the heat of a man press up behind her. She snapped her head
around and saw Tom standing there, almost dancing on the spot in his
impatience. She’d forgotten they were even there.
“Oh
Ash, let me introduce you to Brandon and Tyler’s cousins. It’s common in their family
for men to be born into un-identical twin sets. This is Tom and John. Guys,
this is my cousin Ashleigh.”
Tom
and John jumped up beside her like army graduates, their backs ramrod straight.
Ashleigh’s
face turned cold, her mouth pulling down on both sides.
“Nice
to meet you, gentlemen.”
The
men both stuck out their hands and Laura suddenly knew what they were thinking.
They wanted to touch her.
Oh my God, Ashleigh’s their
chosen mate.
Ash
looked at the men’s hands as though they were rats crawling through her room,
but neither John nor Tom dropped their arms away.
Finally,
Ashleigh sighed and reached up to shake Tom’s hand. Watching it happen, rather
than experience it, was one of the weirdest things Laura would ever see.
Ashleigh gasped and her face filled with blood, her knees obviously weakening
as she sank closer to the ground. John jumped forward to catch her and they
both groaned aloud as their bodies came into contact. Ashleigh’s eyes widened
in shock and dropped Tom’s hand to cling to John.
John
managed to stand, though he looked shaky, too. All three stared at each other
with varying degrees of shock and lust. Ashleigh finally straightened, anger
clouding over her face, as she managed to push herself out of John’s arms and
stagger toward Laura.
Laura
grabbed her cousin, holding her arms and supporting some of her weight. She
knew how confusing such a moment was.
“What
the fuck was that?” Ash spat at them, her spiteful tone harsh enough to make
the men around them growl a little.
Tom
and John looked to her, their eyes burning with something painful. So much
hurt, love, need. It was too intense for her and she had to look away. She
focused on her cousin.
“Ash,
how long
are
you here for?”
Ashleigh
straightened up and looked Laura in the eyes. She wasn’t the same person Laura
had known all those years ago, something about her felt off.
“A week or so.
I took some leave.”
That
was great! Maybe Tom and John could put some sunshine back into Ash’s world.
“Brilliant.
We’re only going away for the weekend, but we have honeymoon plans for the
summer. Will you stay with us through next week?”
Ash
looked back at Tom and John for a moment, then back at Laura, nodding slowly.
“Yeah, sure.
I’d love to catch up.”
John
cleared his throat and held out his hand to Ash once again. “Would you like a
tour of the property?”
Ash
glared at him, her blue eyes firing ice chips.
“No
bloody way, and keep your hands to yourself.”
Ash
turned tail and headed off, her chin stuck high in the air as she stomped her
way up the steps and back into the house.
A
giggle bubbled up and escaped and Laura turned to face the two shocked men. “You
two are going to have your hands full with Ash if she’s yours.”
“She’s
ours.” the men said in unison, their voices deep and growly.
Brandon
and Tyler’s hands slid around her waist and Laura smiled as she was engulfed in
the heat of their bodies.
“Hey Tom, Johnny.”
Brandon’s deep voice made Laura
sigh and lean toward the body of her massive lion.
The
men nodded mechanically, their eyes straying to the house again.
“Congratulations
to you all. Ah…we…” They began to edge away and Laura laughed, waving her hands
at them.
“Go,
go. You have the weekend with her,
then
I’ll have her
from Monday.”
Their
gorgeous faces broke into identical grins and they headed off without a
backward glance. Laura sighed and watched them hurrying away. Was that what her
men had gone through?
“What’s
up with them?” Brandon asked her while Tyler stroked her hand in rhythmic
possession.
Laura
looked up into Brandon’s blue eyes. “My cousin Ash is their mate.”
Brandon’s
eyebrows flew up and his eyes widened. “You’re shitting me?”
Laura
laughed out loud.
“Nope.
Looks like
there’s something about my family that mingles well with you boys.”
Tyler
slid his hand over her abdomen and rubbed gently. “Will we be seeing how our
blood mingles soon?”
Laura
couldn’t stop herself from nodding. Her period was a week late and she’d taken
a test that morning. “I haven’t been to a doctor yet, but yes, I’m pretty sure
we’re going to have a baby.”
Tyler’s
face lit up into a spectacular grin and Brandon picked her up in his arms,
twirling her and whooping loudly.
“Hey,
hey, hey, put me down.” Laura’s head was spinning.
Brandon
placed her down in front of him and kissed her until her head clouded with
need. Laura sunk into his embrace and felt Tyler’s lips at her neck. Her belly
quivered as she lifted her arm, sliding one hand into Brandon’s hair and the
other into Tyler’s, holding her men to her where they were forever meant to be.
