“Of course, I’m fine. You worry too much. With all those fancy doctors waiting to take me under their care in a few days, I’ll be dancing and singing by the time you get back from your honeymoon.”

Lilly wrapped her arms around her mother’s shoulders, feeling every bone pushing back, hoping to God she was right.

“How’d Dad take the news you were staying?” Lilly asked as she let her hug fall away.

“Oh, you know him. He grumbled something into the phone about the boys waiting for him at the pub. I think we are both fine with it, sweetheart. He took care of us, but his heart was never mine. That takes a toll.”

“Uh huh. I know, I grew up watching it take a toll on you.”

“Oh, well… I only want you to be happy.” Abigail’s hands went to her cheeks, and Lilly saw her eyes fill.

“Mom, what? What’s wrong, are you okay?” Panic wrapped around her throat, wondering if they were too late.

The muffled ring of her phone sounded on the bed where she’d tossed it, and from the ringtone, she knew it was Flynn for the third time.

“I’m fine. I’m just…” Her mother brought her hands from her cheeks to Lilly’s hand. “I’m so sorry, baby. About what happened to you. Everything that happened. I was weak. I should have protected you better.”

“Mom, it’s okay. I’m fine. Who was protecting you? No one. I don’t blame you. You were strong; you survived so much yourself. Kept Dad from taking out his anger on me. I’m sorry, too. I didn’t know how to help, but I sure didn’t always make things easier.”

“I know, but it was horrible. What happened… it will stay with me for the rest of my life. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am and how I should have done more.”

“Thank you, Mom. You did the best you could. Now, let’s go see why that pest of a fiancé keeps calling.”

Her smile was his greatest gift. When he could make her smile, all was right with the world.

“Seriously? That much?”

Lilly stared down at the legal-sized file folder, flipping the pages as the limo turned left onto Lakeshore, taking them from the house to the hotel where Flynn insisted they spend the night before their wedding.

He let his hand move gently over the soft ivory trim of her skirt, its fabric marked by the little dances of tiny, pale green and yellow flowers as sweet as Lilly's face.

“I guess so. It’s all there. Has been for years, he just never told us.”

“So you're a trust fund baby. I
knew
it. I knew I scored with you.” Her giggle turned into a moan as Flynn’s fingers pushed the lace trim on the hem of her skirt higher.

“Come here. You’re too far away.”

“I’m like three inches from you.”

“That’s too far. I need some negative space between us — part of me a whole bunch of inches inside you.”

“Gawd… you have to be the most insatiable man on Earth. You have a condition, you know that? Perma-horny. I think they have a pill for that. It’s pink.”

“Shut up.”

Flynn sniffed as he tugged her arm, guiding her hips and sitting her straddling him, his face already pushing between the amazing swell of her chest, his fingers working the buttons of her dress.

“Mine. All mine.” His muffled voice came as he buried face, his eyes looking up, feeling that inner glow of gratitude at the grinning angel looking down at him.

“Shouldn’t we — like hold off for one day — make the wedding night special?”

Flynn pressed his hard dick up into the heat of her, and just as he expected, his little fire doll’s hips began to grind right back.

That’s my girl. She’s come a long way, but she’s got the bug now and her sweet ass owns mine. And that magic pussy sure branded her name on my dick. That’s it babe, grind on that—

Even with his tongue tasting her soft skin and his hands working the clasp of her bra, Flynn didn’t miss for a second the soft mews and purrs his babygirl started to sing as he worked his wood into where she swayed.

“Good girl.” Flynn looked up to see her mouth fall open, her smile replaced by the slow blink of her eyes and a hard swallow, her tongue over her lips.

And once again the rush of his predatory sexual instinct to bind to her in a primal way made Flynn growl as he buried himself into her softness.

“This time tomorrow, you’ll tell the whole world who you belong to.” Flynn looked up, his hands falling to her hips, pulling her down onto him, savoring the growing tension in her face.

“Yes…” She could only whisper as Flynn dropped one hand to forage under her skirt, his need to feel the heat and wetness between her legs like a sickness.

He shoved the slip of fabric to the side.

“Lift up babe, you want my fingers?”

“Um hm…” Lilly rose up, pushing her open dress into his face and Flynn felt that spinning start.

With one hand he fingered her soaking petals, listening to the delight that came from above. His other hand struggled to work the button and zipper on his own straining jeans, finally freeing his ever-ready, energizer cock from the tight space.

“Like this?” He toyed and she gushed.

He loved this part — talking to her, making her answer him, wanting in the deepest part of his heart to know if what he did to her brought her pleasure.

He pressed into her hard nub, then sank his fingers low, spreading her lips and sawing back and forth, ever slowly, watching her wind up like a toy.

Lilly could only nod, but her breathing caught another hitch and he sank two, long fingers into her, the slick juice that followed answering the question.

Flynn knew they had about ten minutes until they arrived at the Willow Oaks Hotel, and he intended to make sure she screamed his name at least twice before they arrived.

The sound of her moans and cries as his fingers felt the clamp of her first orgasm, pushed his engine into the red. As much as he wanted to spread her and suck at that glorious wetness that drenched his fingers, they didn’t have that kind of time.

While she still shook, Flynn used one hand to tear off her panties and free his saluting cock, angle her hips and let her have all of him in one full movement.

He took control, grinding her against him while she squealed and shook, her body hot and drowning him in her cum.

“That’s it, babe. Fuck that cock. Harder, babe. Make Daddy cum.” Flynn sunk his fingers into the flesh of her ass, pushing her back and forth, harder and deeper until his balls tightened.

“Cum with me, babe. God, I’m gonna cum. You feel so good.” Flynn lowered his head, biting into his lip as he tried to ward off his own moment until his babygirl shot off a second time.

Her body answered quickly, undulating as he pushed her open, soaking folds onto his body. She smothered his face in her tits, and that was it for him.

They exploded together, probably scaring the shit out of the driver between Lilly’s screams and Flynn’s roar. They could have just as well been killing each other for all he knew.

Flynn took a long breath, his eyes curtained in long, red waves of Lilly’s crazy hair, his face still buried in tits.

“God.” Lilly moaned the word as she sat back, working herself up and off Flynn’s happy dick.

“You good, babe?” He pushed her hair behind her ear, she was a wreck and he loved it.

Bright red cheeks and unfocused eyes told him he’d done his job well.

“Yes, but now I’m a mess.” Flynn watched as she looked at her torn underwear sitting on the top of his worn, black boots.

“My beautiful mess.” He smiled, helping her get her bra back in place and button up the front of her dress, her hands shaking as they fluttered over her hair.

“And I have no underwear to put on, and I’m sort of a disaster down here.”

“Yeah? You just live with that. I want to check into the hotel with my cum dripping from that pussy of mine.”

“Gawd, you’re the disaster.”

“Yep, ‘cause your pussy’s wrecked me. And tomorrow, I’m going to really unleash on your Mrs. Flynn Dunleavy.”

“If you’ve been holding back, you better have the paramedics standing by, because I just may be dead.”

“Naw, babe. I’ve got you. Remember? I take care of what’s mine.”

Chapter Forty-two

The sharp knock at the door barely slowed Flynn from his progress.

“That’s Ana, I have to go!” Lilly laughed, trying to push him away.

“I tell you when you can go, and we’re not done.”

Lilly’s stomach still spun like a tilt-a-whirl when he talked to her in that commanding tone. The calm dominance — never in a million years had she thought it would affect her so deeply.

Looking down, Lilly watched the intense, deep emerald green of his eyes, his dark lashes slowly blinking as his hands gently traced over every inch of her, the full length of his spent cock still riding high inside of her as she straddled the beautiful carved ‘v’ of his muscled hips.

“She’s knocking!”

“I have ears. You ready?”

“I won’t be if you don’t let me go with her and get ready. You don’t want your bride walking down the aisle looking like this do you?”

Lilly caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror across from the king size bed of the hotel suite. Her hair looked like she’d stuck her head in a wind tunnel.

“Fine with me. All I see is beautiful.”

By the time Flynn let her go, Ana was slumped down in the hallway outside the double doors to the suite.

“You okay? He got you tied up in there or what? I’ve been knocking.”

“Sorry, I was in the shower. Come on in.”

“You were not in the shower. Don’t lie.” Ana gave her a wry smile.

Flynn wandered in — no shirt, jeans half unbuttoned — and Lilly felt that ever present flutter in her belly.

“Ana, how’s it goin’?”

“Fine. You done with her? Can I take her? We have a lot to do, you know.”

“Uh huh.” Flynn raked both hands through his unruly hair.

“Man of few words.” Ana gave Lilly an eye roll.

“Well, here’s my stuff.” Lilly shuffled over to the pile of bags and one, long-zippered garment sack than hung on the wall.

The clock on the wall read 6:34 am.
In just under six hours, I'll be Mrs. Flynn Dunleavy,
Lilly thought to herself. He was far from the same man who had helped her up on the steps that day, and she was certainly not the same girl.

“Take care of her.” Flynn eyed Ana.

“Yes, Sir.” Ana gave him a mock salute as she gathered up the bags onto the luggage cart.

Lilly turned to see him staring.

“What?” She picked up the garment bag and couldn’t help but smile back at him.

“Nothing. I’m just admiring what’s mine.”

“I’ll see you in a few hours.”

Flynn put his hands around the back of her neck, squaring her face to look into his as Ana sighed her annoyance from where she stood in the doorway, holding it open.

“I never believed in happy endings — until you.”

He kissed her and Lilly felt the floor spin under her feet.

Flynn watched as the two women giggled down the hall and disappeared onto the elevator. As soon as Lilly was out of sight, Flynn was on the phone.

“Everything ready? I want it fucking perfect when we get back here at 1:30.
PERFECT
, you understand?”

Eleven people came to watch as the two lovers-who-almost-never-were exchanged vows, oblivious to anyone else.

Topher walked Abigail down the isle, her hand on his arm and his hand atop hers. When Lilly stood bare foot at the front of the chapel — her hair hanging in a riot of copper ringlets and curls decorated with ivory ribbons falling to the floor from her floral headband — the father she never knew drew the back of his hand across his cheeks, then gave up and let his tears flow like rivers that had been damned for too long as the limestone and stained glass walls of the two-hundred-year-old church began the absolution of a guilt he’d carried for twenty-three years.

Flynn could barely breathe, standing there holding Lilly's hands, thinking of how far they’d come. Six months ago, he would have been more likely to be dead than standing looking at the most stunning creature to ever walk the earth.

And she belonged to him. All of her.

Today, Flynn started a new tradition for his family. A tradition that looks for a world where love climbs mountains and jumps streams. Where family protects and cherishes each other. A new world where they all might discover a version of happily ever after.

Roger grumbled after the ceremony as Flynn shook his hand. “No bar? No reception? Who planned this?”

“Me. I don’t give a shit about the party; I just give a shit about making her mine. I’ve got other things on my mind, old man. Sitting around drinking is not one of them.”

Flynn watched as Lilly hugged Abigail, Topher standing near the two women with a new sense of purpose. He looked part proud father and part steward as his hand rested lightly on the small of Abigail’s back.
