Bart stepped to the side of a stunned Jacob, and just as he did, the elevator doors opened with several officers, and their guns drawn. I felt a huge sense of relief. A large part of me wanted to be able to go toe to toe with Jacob, but then another part of me was happy that I got to see his ass carted away.

I looked over at Bart who was already on his way past the officers. I knew it was a huge risk for him. I was thankful that I no longer had to worry about being at risk since the real perpetrators had been exposed. But I wasn’t able to thank Bart just yet. That would take some time.

Quinton and I were already made our way outside, and were standing back at his Escalade when the police loaded Jacob into the back of one of the unmarked squad cars. All I could think about was what a waste of talent he was. But he’d brought it all on himself. He was an ungrateful bastard and he was finally on his way to getting what he deserved, and I was actually happy that I didn’t have to get my hands dirty to make it happen.

Alika

As soon as I heard the door open, I ran straight for it, and into Rush’s arms. “What happened, baby? I woke up and you had already left. I’m thinking you just went for a run or something and then got a call from Quinton that you had been arrested! What the hell happened? And don’t tell me nothing, Rush! I usually don’t pry when you’re wanting to keep quiet, but I’m not letting this one go! I was so scared.”

“You don’t need to be—”

“Fuck that, Rush. What’s going on? I don’t need to be protected if that’s what you think. And if it’s not that, and you just think that your business is not my business, then I don’t need to be here.”

“What does that mean, Alika?”

“Baby, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that I don’t want to be here. I’m saying that I don’t want to be shut out. How can I be a shoulder for you if I don’t know what you go through? Since I came into your life, there have been times where you were in deep thought and I left you to it because honestly, I didn’t have any business in your business. But…” I said, reaching up to rub my hand across his cheek. “…Now you’re mine, and I need to be able to do my part as your woman.”

He grabbed my hand and walked me into the living room where he sat down, then pulled me onto his lap. “It’s not all gonna be pretty, babe.”

I ran my hands across his hair and then down the sides of his face. “That’s okay. Start the transfer, baby. Let me carry
whatever it is
, with you.”

“Start the transfer…? That’s cute.”

“So are you. Now, get to talking.”

He leaned his head back against the sofa and deeply sighed before bringing his eyes back at level with mine. “I got some information not too long ago that state agents were watching Chaos for possible illegal activity—hookers and drugs, speci—”

“I told you, Rush! Those bitches
were
prostitutes! Oh my God!”

“Yeah, you called it,” he sighed.

“Damn…”

“So, my father, who has these really higher-up connections kind of halted shit, but it gave me a chance to figure some stuff out. Long story short, Bart had a part in it—”

“I swear I knew something wasn’t right that day I saw him. He seemed so nervous and didn’t want me to tell you that I’d seen him,” I said, shaking my head. “Let me guess. That guy Jacob that he was with is involved too, huh?”

“Yeah. I’ve been knowing both of them since I was a teenager.”

“That’s so messed up.”

He paused for a few long seconds, then told me, “There’s a little more to it, baby.”

“Like what. What more could there be?”

“Jacob recognized you. He said he knew…I mean knows the guy you met on the dating site.”

“That asshole,
Curtis
? Are you serious?”

“Yeah. I guess that day he saw you with Gigi, he realized that he knew you—”

“He doesn’t
know
me.”

“I know. But you get what I mean.”

“Yeah, I do,” I expressed, solemnly. I rose up from his lap and began to pace. “
Ugh
! And what?”

“And nothing. Apparently, putting girls ‘to work’ is their thing.”

“Do you realize that was almost me?!” I cried. “No! I’m not gonna cry! I’m not gonna cry!”I exclaimed, shaking my head left to right. “I just feel so bad that I inadvertently brought that shit to your life!”

“Wait!” he proclaimed, rising from his seat and over to me. “Don’t do that. You did no such thing. You shouldn’t feel like that. I sure as fuck don’t. So
let that go
. Like, immediately.”

I moved into his arms and lay my head against his chest. I asked, and he told me and now I needed to suck it up. I pulled back from Rush’s chest, and looked up at him. “You’re right, babe. I’m good. Where is the bastard?”

“Arrested. He’s locked up, and probably for a long ass time. The way I see it, there’s human trafficking, distribution, and whatever else they can get him for. He’s looking at some time, that’s for sure. Human trafficking is no joke.”

“Good! Maybe now that they have his ass, they can arrest Curtis too. They all deserve to be in jail. What about Bart?”

“I’m not sure what’s going on with him, but he was the one that turned Jacob in to the police. Everything is cool now.”

“That’s good, baby. I’m so happy it all worked out. Now we can make Chaos and Temptation household names! The clubs of all clubs—that people come from all over to kick it inside of. I’m gonna write up some ideas. And then we need to be thinking about expansion in like another year! I’m gonna take some business courses so I can help out a bit more.”

“You are so beautiful,” he said before plopping back down on the sofa. He smiled at me from his seat. “Come here,” he smiled. “I got something for you.”

“And you know what? I got something for you too, but first you need to go wash that jailhouse stench off ya!” I laughed.

“What if I don’t wanna? What if I just want you to sit on my neglected penis and warm him up since he’s been in the cold for most of the day?”

Yummm
,” I purred, licking my lips. “That is
sooo
tempting,” I said, backing away from him. I was smiling hard the entire time, and he knew what I was doing. I turned on my heel, ran across the living room, and towards the stairs, giggling uncontrollably, the entire way. I looked back to see that Rush had given chase and was close behind me. I made it to the stairs, attempting to take them two at a time, but he caught me around the waist, and lifted me in the air with my legs flailing. I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna pee my shorts.

He carried me to the top of the stairs, laid me down, and in one fell swoop, he had my shorts from over my ass exposing my entire nether region. He slid down a few stairs to position himself, and captured my thighs in the curve of his arms and dug into me face first. The moans I released came from the base of my stomach, and into my chest, and then travelled up my throat where they hit the air in a deep echo, causing me to quiver with excitement. I took control of my thighs, pulling them closer to my body and the moment I did, he parted me open further, and filled my pussy hole with his fingers. Simultaneously, he masterfully gave attention to each one of my lips licking along, and inside the creases with long, slow motions. I tried holding on as long as I could, but I could no longer contain the orgasm that was rushing like a bolt of lightning to my core. My ass lifted from the floor’s carpeting and pounded frantically against Rush’s face. “
Ahhh
!
Shittt
!
Baaabyyy
!!
Ahhh
!”

I guess it was the thrill of the whole chase that had me in a state of complete amazement. All I knew was that when it was all said and done and I was lying on the floor in a semi-comatose state. He had fucked me into a state of silence, and all I could do was breathe. Words hadn’t made their way to life yet. He dragged his lips around my inner thighs. He massaged my mound with his palm, then brought his lips up to cover my breasts and tugged at my morsels before standing from his spot.

“I guess I’ll go take that shower now, baby. Come join me when you catch your breath, okay?”

Ha ha ha
,” I panted.

He knew what he had done…rendered me speechless, and left my entire body tingling in his wake. And as soon as I could, I was for sure gonna get my ass up from this floor so I could go and get part two, three, four and five. Yes, I was trying to be punished.

Rush

Later that evening, I sat on the other end of the phone listening intently to my father. We had been talking for close to half an hour and I was sure it was the longest we had talked in a one-on-one conversation…ever. I felt compelled to call him with the details of what had happened with Jacob and Bart. There were a couple of reasons that I didn’t want to call him. The first being, that I already knew that over the years he had felt they were bad for my life. So, I knew it was a very real possibility that he would slip into that whole, “I told you so,” mode of thinking and talking. In addition to that, I didn’t exactly appreciate the fact that I had to ask him for the information that he was in possession of, regarding my club being under investigation. That was something that he should’ve wanted to give me the heads-up on, simply because I was his son. But it just seemed that when it came to me, he wasn’t built that way.

“…Well, I’ll be honest,” he was saying. “I thought that you knew exactly what was going on. When the information first came my way, I immediately thought back to that situation you had gotten yourself mixed up in when you chose to surround yourself with hoodlums. I had no reason to believe that you weren’t involved.”

“You had no reason?
Really
, dad? And that’s always been the problem with you…” When I made the final decision to give this person a call, I had every intention on having a civil conversation with him, but he was steering things in another direction. “The belief in me has never been there. It’s always been easier for you to believe the bad and not the good. But believe me; I realized a long time ago that the father I wanted/needed growing up, threw me away a long time ago. My main reason for calling you today was just to give you a sort-of ‘thank you’.”

“Sort of…?” he snickered.

“Yeah, sort of. Because you were perfectly willing to let everything I worked for go down the drain. And for what? So I could come running to you for a handout?”

“I warned you, so don’t go throwing out bullshit lies, Hunter!”

“You warned me at a dinner table in the most condescending and cryptic way you could muster! You warned me at a dinner that my sister put together! So had that dinner not taken place, you might not have ever told me! So, don’t act like you did me any favors, old man. That report was dated August 18, 2014! Two months before you said a word!

“Lower your tone, Hunter! You
will
show some respect!”

And so will you
! I don’t know how many times I have to let you know that I’m not a fucking child that you can talk down to. I’m not trying to gain your approval, or pussy my way into your good graces.
That
kid is long gone, and this grown ass man doesn’t give a fuck about a title tied to DNA. You made that the course we would take when you treated me like shit any time I wasn’t who you wanted me to be.
You
!” I roared, into the phone. I was so enraged that I barely felt Alika’s comforting touch slide across my shoulder blade.

“Give me the phone, baby,” she said, lightly tugging at the device that I had a death grip upon. “Give me the phone,” she repeated, giving me a knowing nod. I watched as she swiped her finger across the screen to disconnect the phone call. She put the phone on my office desk and then knelt before me, looking up into my eyes, her own glistening over. “It’s his loss, baby—
his
. You’re a good man and if he can’t see that, then that’s on him.
I see it
, and so does every fuckin’ body else. You’re fiercely protective, fiercely loyal, and that’s why certain assholes think they can test you. They count on that loyalty being a given no matter what. You’re beautiful inside and out, you’re funny as shit,” she giggled. “You’re the most driven man that I know, and you’re smart as hell. Whatever he has going on…
that’s his problem
, baby. And however much I need to tell you that, I will. Do you hear me?”

“I hear you.”

“Good. Look at me,” she instructed, grabbing the sides of my face. “Shake it off, and come with me into the kitchen so I can make us something to eat. A good meal to start your morning off with is much better than arguing with a brick wall. You don’t have anything to prove to him.”

“I know, Alika. I know that. I’m more pissed about reaching out to him just to hear him talk crazy. I shouldn’t have made the call to begin with, but I’m good now,” I commented, pulling her hands from my face, and guiding her to sit on my lap. I caressed her thigh and got lost in the softness of her skin. “Lead me to the kitchen, beautiful. I’m ready to eat, and if we don’t leave this spot soon, I’ll be feasting on you on top of this desk.”

Rush

“How’d you like the crowd last night, babe?” We had just awakened and were lying in bed regrouping. “It seemed like there were more people there last night than there were opening night, if that’s even possible.”

“There were a lot of people. And there are probably a ton of them who called into their jobs today too! You’re a bad influence! Good thing you’re only gonna do weekends for now. You would destroy lives and have folks in the unemployment line if this was a daily thing! I think you’re gonna be the reason that Gigi and Marco turn into a partying couple. Two nights in a row and they were in there!” she laughed.

“That’s not my fault. They know a good spot when they see one. And as hard as they both work, they have every right to party like it’s
1999
. But anyway, since we’ve closed out the weekend, how would you like to get away for the night—maybe even two?”

Her eyes beamed, before she shrieked, “Yeah! I’m for the two! But I’d be just as satisfied with one! When can we leave?”

“As soon as you’ve packed a bag, we can be ready.”

“Okay, well, I need to go down to my place and get that done. I don’t have an overnight bag, so I’m gonna bring my stuff up here to pack with yours.”

“That should be a light load: thongs, heels, and you,” I smiled.

“And a toothbrush,” she added.

As she was preparing to get out of the bed, I reached for her arm. “We might as well bring
all
your stuff up here with me…to this house.”

She turned around to look back at me. “Huh?”

“You heard me, pretty girl. Bring your stuff up here with me.”

“You mean move in?”

“That’s affirmative. I mean move in.”

She inhaled a deep breath and then smiled. “I think we should wait a little bit, babe. Just a little bit.”

“Why?”

“Because I just want you to be sure.”

“Sounds more like
you
want to be sure. I’m already there.”

“See…up until now you’ve only had me over for sleepovers. What if you don’t like the way I live? The way I come out of my clothes and don’t immediately put them in the dirty clothes? Or how I generally sleep in a scarf? It’s nice and pretty and silky. But it is a scarf. Black girl struggles, buddy.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “First, there is such a thing as housekeepers, which I have. Second, you can sleep with an entire body wrap and I’d still let you take over my bed. I’d merely lift it from the bottom and have my way with you. I really only need below the waist,” I shrugged.

“You are sooo nasty!” she exclaimed “Sexy as hell…and nasty!”

“And you love it!” I said, pulling her all the way on top of me. “Baby, I don’t care about a scarf or about you not putting your clothes up right away—long as you take them off,” I chuckled.

“See!” she laughed.

“No, for real though; your man wants you with him, in his bed
every night
. So, that’s settled and your stuff will be here in the other walk-in when we get back.”

“Well, damn big boy. Case closed then.”
