“The picnic? Or having time off?”

“Both,” I breathed.

“Well, just relax, then. I have it all taken care of. This might not be as exciting as some of the things you’ve done in your line of work, but I wanted it to be something special that we could enjoy together.”

“Honestly, this will be extremely hard to beat. Trust me, Blake,” I admitted.

“Your job must be really exciting with all that traveling,” he commented, leaning back on his arms. Did he deliberately just change the subject?

“It actually gets a little mundane,” I admitted as he stretched to pick up some glasses. I was drawn toward the sliver of bare skin at the top of his jeans.

“Really?”

“Fame isn’t as glamorous as people believe it to be. In my line of work, there’s a lot of waiting around. The cities I visit…I only see the inside of a building most the time. It can get quite lonely, actually.” I was being so open with Blake, but it felt natural.

“I’m sorry, Violet. I didn’t even think of it that way.”

“Don’t worry about it,” I replied seductively, climbing on top of him. “Have you brought many girls here? Is this like your make-out spot?”

“No, you’re the first,” he chuckled, running his fingers through my hair. “Do you have any idea how beautiful you are? Any guy would give his
life
to be me right now.”

“I doubt that, Blake.”

“You, Violet, have so much light in you. I’ve never felt so alive before and I know it’s because of you.”

“You can be incredibly sweet,” I groaned as he pulled me down toward his lips. My hands dug into the sand when he deepened the kiss, sweeping his tongue in to meet mine.

Kissing Blake was quickly becoming one of my favorite pastimes.

“I want you, Violet,” he snarled, snaking his hand down my back.

“Here?” I gasped. What if someone saw us? I couldn’t chance any paparazzi catching us and taking pictures. It would be on the front page of every trashy tabloid out there within hours. Something like that coming out could put an end to my career.

“No one comes here. It’s a secluded beach,” he purred, running his fingers up my legs. “Let me love you here, Beautiful.” I couldn’t resist him—I didn’t
want
to.

Blake effortlessly rolled us over so he was hovering above me. His lips began to move down my jaw while his hands continued their way up my dress.

“I’ve never had sex outside before,” I murmured into his ear as his mouth moved toward my neck.

“Violet Weathers has
never
had sex outside?” Blake teased, acting horrified at the thought.

“Don’t mock me,” I pouted, slapping his arm playfully.

“I guess I better make this good then, huh? No pressure,” he smoldered, slipping his hand into my panties.

“Fuck…B…Bl…Blake,” I groaned, fisting the sand above my head as his fingers slipped inside me. “A little warning would have been nice.”

“Oh, you love it when I do this,” he mused, stroking my clit. “You’re getting wetter by the second. What is it, Baby? Is it being outside? Does that excite you?” I nodded frantically, closing my eyes as he began to really work my body. “Open the top of your sundress for me,” he said huskily. I did as he asked, quickly unbuttoning it and exposing my baby pink bra to him. “Pull the cups down, too,” he demanded. Blake almost had me at the brink already; I could feel my climax quickly approaching. Pulling my bra cups down, I exposed my breasts to him.

The moment he leaned down and sucked my right nipple into his mouth, I exploded around his fingers.

“Oh…God…Blake,” I groaned out into the open air.

“I love watching you climax,” he grinned from in between my breasts.

“You are
very
good at making me cum,” I giggled, watching him undo his trousers before tearing open a condom.

“I’m better when I use
this
,” he mused, gesturing toward his covered erection. Blake pushed my dress up around my waist, caressing my skin as he went. I wrapped my legs around his hips, surprising him by my sudden advance as I drew him closer to me. “A little anxious, are we?” he winked.

“I want to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to outdoor sex,” I countered, lifting my ass up slightly to feel the tip of his cock at my entrance.

Blake’s eyes turned hooded with a deep desire as he grabbed my hips and filled me in one swift motion.

“You better hold on,” he grunted, pulling almost completely out and then slamming right back inside me. “This is going to be rough.”

“Ugh…yes,” I groaned, letting Blake take me to new heights as the sun caressed my skin. I’d never had a sexual experience like it.

“How was that for your first experience with outdoor sex?” Blake asked, doing the buttons on the top of my dress back up.

“Amazing,” I panted, holding my stomach as I tried to regain my breath. “Feeling the breeze touch your skin while someone is bringing you to life…I have no words.”

“Is that how I make you feel?” He looked stunned.

“You make me feel a lot of things, Blake,” I admitted, stroking his chin.

The air between us began to thicken before he finally spoke. “We should open the champagne,” he muttered, watching my lips.

“Good idea,” I beamed, stretching to get the glasses that had fallen into the sand.

The rest of the afternoon was blissful as we lay on the blanket talking about anything and everything, and occasionally getting lost in each other.

I’d lost count of the number of times Blake had taken me out on his bike during the week. It was the perfect way for me to escape without having to worry about everything going on around me. Not that there was a lot to see, but it was where Blake had grown up, and that interested me.

“Your hair looks fine, Violet,” he teased as I took my helmet off. He knew I didn’t give a damn about how my hair looked when I wasn’t Violet Weathers.

“It’s been a long day,” I sighed as I followed him into the small diner that had become our local hangout over the last few days. Allie was way too nosy back at the hotel for us to stay there.

“You do look shattered. Do you want a beer?”

“Please!” I couldn’t help but smile as Blake went up to the bar.

“I don’t have to come up with you when I drop you off later,” he commented, watching me yawn as he came back with our drinks.

“No, I want you to come up. It relaxes me,” I replied quickly.

“It’s been a week and we haven’t spent even one night apart. Aren’t you sick of me by now?” he chuckled, running his hands through that sexy hair of his.

“No,” I smirked, leaning over to kiss his lips. I wasn’t sure I’d
ever
get sick of him, and I had to admit that it saddened me at how fast my first week in Omaha had flown by.

I knew our last week together would go even quicker. What would happen then?

“If my sister gets to be too much for you, all you have to do is say so,” Blake stressed, opening the front door and allowing me to enter first.

“I don’t think it’s your
sister
I need to worry about,” I giggled.

His eyes widened with realization before he spoke. “If Drew says anything out of line, let me know.”

“Blake,” I soothed, “it’s just dinner. Relax.”

“I can’t help but worry, Violet. I know what they’re like.” I was looking forward to having a nice dinner with Blake and his family. I hardly saw my own mother these days because she was too busy with her new boy toy. In fact, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d sat around a family table.

“They can’t be that bad,” I giggled as Drew appeared to greet us.

“Hi, Violet!” he said with a grin as he pulled me into a tight hug. “Here, let me take your coat. Would you like a drink? We have wine, beer, water, soda…”

“Drew, let her get through the damn door first,” Blake snorted. “And
I’ll
take Violet’s jacket.” I turned, grinning at him as he helped me with my coat.

“Told you,” he whispered into my ear so that Drew couldn’t hear. Okay, Blake
might
have had a point.

“Come on in. Sarah is cooking up a storm,” Drew beamed.

The house was very homey, and I couldn’t stop my eyes from wandering toward the picture frames on the large fireplace in the center of the room.

“Is this you?” I asked Blake, looking at a photo of two young children.

“Yeah,” he cringed. “Mom always insisted on matching outfits for Sarah and me at Christmas.”

“You were really cute,” I teased.

“Hey, are you trying to say I’m not cute now?” he gasped, looking offended.

“I wouldn’t use cute now.” He was about to say something but his sister walked into the room right then.

“Violet, Drew and I are so happy you could make it tonight,” Sarah gushed, rushing across the room to hug me. Blake’s family all seemed to be real huggers.

“Blake said your lasagna was legendary,” I replied, darting my eyes over to him.

“No pressure to get it right, then,” she stressed, glancing at her watch. “Shit, I need to get the salad ready.”

“Let me know if I can help you with anything,” I called as Sarah rushed back into the kitchen.

“I will, thanks!” she shouted from somewhere out of sight.

“She’ll relax once the food is ready,” Drew snorted. “So, wine is it, Violet?”

“Sure,” I smiled, taking a seat next to Blake on the couch.

“Beer for you, Blake?” He nodded, stroking the back of my hand.

“This is so weird,” he murmured once we were alone again.

“What is? Me being here?”

“No, Drew and Sarah trying to act like the perfect hosts. I usually have to get my own beer when I visit.”

“Maybe I should come with you to dinner more often,” I giggled before realizing how hopeless that was. I was leaving in less than a week, after all, and would be just a fading memory for Blake in a few months—the supermodel he fucked for a few weeks. I didn’t think he was the gloating type, but then did I really know him at all? Men had a way of offering you anything to get you into bed. I could just be a conquest to him for all I knew…another notch in his bedpost.

“You have no idea how much I’d like that.” He linked his fingers with mine, entwining them so we were joined as one. It was difficult not to believe him when my heart was pleading for him to be truthful.

Dinner was amazing. Like Blake had said, Sarah could really cook.

“So, I have to ask,” she mused, starting to clear the plates. “What
is
going on between the two of you?”

“Sarah!” Blake snapped. “That’s none of your goddamn business!”

“Blake,
Violet Weathers
is at my dinner table with my brother. I think I have a right to know what’s going on.”

“Blake is just keeping me company while I’m here,” I muttered, trying to defuse the situation.

“But he’s just a mechanic,” Drew frowned. “No offense, Blake.”

“Really? You expect me not to be offended?” Blake snorted. “If you two are going to keep on interrogating Violet and me, I think we’ll leave.” Blake stood up, pulling me with him.

“Oh, don’t be like that. We’re just excited. Violet is a supermodel. God, Blake, she is
the
supermodel.”

“She’s aware of that, Sarah, but that doesn’t define her.” I was taken aback at Blake’s outburst. It had been a long time since anyone had stood up for me like that, and I felt my heart soar.

“Violet, I didn’t mean to upset you,” Sarah pouted.

“You haven’t,” I soothed. “But I am pretty tired, and I have an early start in the morning. Dinner was wonderful, though. Thank you.”

“Think of us anytime you’re in the neighborhood,” Sarah said as Blake practically dragged me out of the house.

“It was lovely having you for dinner, Violet,” Drew called after us. I couldn’t hold back my snigger at watching Blake roll his eyes.

“I’m sorry about all that,” he sighed, watching me put my helmet on.

“Blake, it’s fine. It was
fun.
”

“Fun?”

“Yeah, I haven’t been to a family meal in years.”

“Is that because of all the traveling?”

“No, it has more to do with my selfish mother and her boy toy.”

“Boy toy?” Blake’s eyes widened.
