Samantha
smiles. "Ok!" she says.

She falls
asleep in Jacob’s arms. Jacob starts to think about what he really is going to
do about Amber; he doesn't need any more crazy surprise encounters. He has a
bigger situation to be concerned about – Julius! He keeps telling Samantha he
will keep her safe, and he has to keep his promise. He decides to reach out to
Tony in the morning.

Jacob loves
to watch Samantha sleep. She always looks so peaceful. He is so excited to know
they are having a baby.

Chapter 18

Jacob wakes
up to the smell of bacon and eggs. He walks into the kitchen. "Good
morning, babe!"

Samantha
smiles, giving Jacob a very passionate kiss.

"You
didn't have to get up. I would have brought your food to you. I want you to
relax today," Samantha says.

"What
are your plans for today?" Jacob asks.

"I have
to meet Nicki about the events we have planned for the next six months,"
says Samantha.

"Will
you be back by four so we can see the other houses?" asks Jacob.

"Yes,"
replies Samantha.

While they
eat breakfast together, Jacob text
Tony to ask him how his poker game is
going in Vegas.

Tony
replies, "
A little unsettling but it’s getting better
."

Samantha
spoke. "Jacob, I will take care of Amber. I'll be honest, it won't be nice
what I'm going to do to her. Just know she will never contact you again."

Jacob looks
a little uneasy.

"Don't
worry. You'll see her around, but she just won't look at you." Samantha
smiles. "You trust me, right?"

"Yes,
of course!" Jacob replies.

"Good,"
says Samantha.

Samantha met
Nicki at 11 a.m. instead of 2 p.m. because of the Amber situation.

When Nicki
arrives at the coffee shop, Samantha jumps up to give her a hug.

She grabs
Samantha’s hand. “Girl, that ring is a monster! How do you hold your hand up?”
asks Nicki.

They both
laugh.

“It’s
gorgeous!” says Nicki.

“Thank you,”
Samantha says.

"Girl,
you cannot do that again. Jacob was so distraught when you vanished," says
Nicki.

"I
know, but I was so scared of what Julius would do,” Samantha says. “Jacob
doesn't understand how crazy Julius really is, and when he beat him up, I'm
sure that only made matters worse. Jacob has Julius being watched, but he's a
very crafty person and may find his way here. If and when he does, I'll be
ready to defend myself. I've already gone to the police station and put an
order of protection out because I have to protect myself. Tony will be here in
a moment to discuss what Julius has been up to thus far."

Samantha
continues. "Nicki, I need your help on another pressing issue. Remember
when we had to have each other's backs in high school?"

“Of
course," Nicki responds.

"Well,
I have a pushy woman on my hands trying to be with Jacob and I need to teach
her a lesson," Samantha reveals.

Samantha has
helped Nicki out with a bullying situation in high school and they’d always had
each other’s back ever since.

“Nicki, one
of the reasons I came back is because I’m pregnant!”

“Congratulations!”
Nicki replies.

“Keep it
between you and me because we aren’t announcing it until the end of August.”

“No
problem,” says Nicki.

They then
discuss their plan to pick up Amber.

"Good
afternoon, ladies," says Tony.

Samantha
jumps up giving Tony a big hug. "Tony, this is my best friend, Nicki.
Nicki, this is Tony. He's helped us out in some very tough situations."

She looks at
him. "What time can Nicki pick up Amber tomorrow?"

"At 9
a.m.," says Tony. "Can she handle this?"

"Yes,
most definitely. We've been through this together before. She's more than
capable," says Samantha. "Where is the cabin located?"

"About
an hour from here," says Tony. It's very secluded; it has just what you’re
asking for, the hunting scene."

"Great!"
says Samantha.

"Does
Jacob know what you're doing?" asks Tony.

"Yes
and no. I told him I will take care of it," says Samantha.

“Samantha,
we are still watching Julius so we have it handled.

“Good,” says
Samantha.

"OK,
see you both tomorrow," Tony says.

"Bye,"
says Nicki and Samantha.

This is
going to be a very busy weekend. Samantha needs to finish her training for her
dance performance for Jacob. She needs to make sure everything will be ready
for the party next Friday and the awards dinner next Saturday. Where will she
find the strength, she wonders. Samantha and Nicki begin to go over the plans
for the party.

"Jacob,
are you ready?" Samantha asks entering the house.

"Yeah,”
he responds as he whisk down the stairs, grabbing his keys. He quickly walks
over, giving Samantha an intoxicating kiss. Her arms wrap around his neck as
his hands massage her lower back.

"Let's
go," he says, smacking her on the ass.

As much as
Jacob hates to drive, he’s driving today because he knows the city a lot better
than Samantha!

"So I
know the Bentley truck is mine, but can I drive any of the cars?"

"Yes,
of course, as long as there is a truck for me to drive when I play golf. I'll
buy you a car too, whatever you want!"

"Jacob,
you spoil me so, but I'm learning to love it!"

He put his
hand on her thigh. "I knew you would."

They look at
several houses well into the night when they finally find the one perfect home.

It has two
sprawling spiral staircases. There is a beautiful chandelier in the vestibule,
and two sitting rooms on either side. They walk straight ahead to the back of
the house, the kitchen on the left and a huge family room to the right, and
straight ahead are sliding doors that lead from the kitchen all the way through
the family room. They slide open so the back of house opens to the backyard,
ready for entertainment.

They step
outside to a gated pool. To the right is a tennis court and a basketball court,
and straight back is a great open area for kids to play on a large swing set.
Attached to the house is a six-car garage with a beautiful mural painting of a
countryside reminding her of Georgia. The detached studio apartment is perfect
for her business.

They go back
into the house to look around the large kitchen with gold-colored marble
counter tops, dark wood cabinets that open when you touch them, a six-burner
gas stove, and a double convection oven. This is a palace and it could be
Samantha’s.  And it comes with her very own prince! They look at the rest
of the home, equipped with its own bowling alley, game room, theater, and six
bedrooms. The master bedroom is so tranquil and huge. They walk into the master
bathroom, with a massive shower with four shower heads and a gorgeous jetted
tub, as well as his-and-her sink areas. Samantha stands there looking down at
the sink.

"What's
wrong?” Jacob asks.

“I don't
want us to buy a home like this if somehow it will only drive us apart one day.
I want us to stand on our values and raise our children to be givers like you.
You give so much,” Samantha says.

Jacob stands
in front of her, looking her in the eyes. He places his hands on her arms.
"We've been through more in nine months than many people go through in
years. We will have so many more trials and tribulations, but as long as we're
together, we will be fine."

He wraps his
arms around her, kissing her on her head. "So how do you like your new
house?”

Her eyes lit
up.

“What!?”

"Samantha,"
he says laughing. “This is your house I bought it for you!”

She wraps
her arms around his neck, giving him a hug. They walk down the stairs.

“What about
the mural in the garage?”

"I had
it painted. They just finished before we got here."

"How
did you know?"

"When
you liked the house that had the spiral staircase but the backyard was small, I
figured out what you liked. We share similar taste anyway so I figured this
would be great!"

"Nancy,
thank you for finding this home for us. It's beautiful," says Samantha to
Nancy.

When they
get in the Porsche truck she leans over to the driver’s side, kissing Jacob’s
lips. "Thank you, baby! Now how can I show my gratitude?"

"You
can start by letting me make love to you in every room of our new home,"
Jacob says, handing her the key.

"But of
course," she says, giving a wink.

She sits
back in her seat as they drive off down their new street.

That Friday,
Jacob goes for an early game of golf. Samantha goes to the gun range.

"Hey
George, am I set up in the back?" asks Samantha.

"Yes,"
George replies.

Samantha is
a great shooter, but to stay sharp she has to practice. She is getting started
when she gets a call from Jacob.

"Hey,
hon, what's up?"

"Where
are you?"

"At the
gun range," she says.

"Oh,
you're learning how to shoot," Jacob jokes.

She laughs.
"No, I'm practicing. I happen to be a great shooter."

"Which
gun range?"

"Marty's
on Sudden Street."

"Ok,
I'll talk to you later," says Jacob.

Samantha has
three sessions set up. The first is with the glock nine, then with the rifle outside
shooting cans, and the last session is shooting air targets. Samantha walks
back up front.

"George,
I need three more weapons. I think Jacob might come up here. Thanks."

Samantha put
her ear plugs in and the headphones on. She picks up her glock nine and aims at
her target. Slugs hit the center of the paper body, then one perfect shot to
the head. She places her gun on the counter, pulls her headphones down around
her neck, and hit the button to pull up her sheet.

"Hey,"
says Jacob.

He walks up
behind her, kissing her cheek. She never takes her eye off her target.

"Damn,
good shot!" says Jacob. "How did you know I was coming up here?"

She turns
and looks at him. "Because I know my man," she says, smiling. “Are
you setting up next to me?"

"Yeah,"
he says.

They talk
about the skill it takes to hunt. Samantha learns Jacob is a really good
shooter too. Samantha never misses at cans, which is her expertise more than
skeet shooting. Jacob is better than her at skeet shooting.

"Come
on, let's get lunch," he eventually says, grabbing her hand.

"Are
you going to be ready for your surprise tonight?" Samantha asks.

He laughs.
"Yes."

While
they’re eating, he asks her what she has planned.

"I’m
going to get fitted for my dress to see if it needs to be taken out now that
I'm two months."

"Samantha,
don't talk about it in public. People will have rumors spreading fast."

But really,
the girls are going to take care of Amber.

"Jacob,
may I have your autograph," asks a girl.

Jacob
smiles.

"Sure, who
do I make it out to?"

She hands
him a magazine with him on the cover. "Make it out to Maria!"

The girl
thanks him and walks away.

Jacob drives
Samantha back to her truck. Samantha gets in his lap and reclines his seat
back.

"Samantha,
you can't do that here. We'll be on Rags TV."

"I just
want to be in your arms for just a minute."

She rest her
nose against his neck, smelling his cologne. She wants him now, but she has
work to do. She looks into his eyes while rubbing her hand along his face,
gently placing her mouth over his kissing him.

"I love
you!"

She moves
back to her seat, jumping out of the truck. She walks over to her own truck
waving goodbye. Jacob drives away. She then runs inside the gun range to
retrieve her weapons, changing into her black jeans, black riding boots and
white sleeveless T-shirt, and ties her hair into a high ponytail.

Jacob feels
Samantha is lying about the dress fitting and it is confirmed when she comes
out of the gun range with her rifle bag on her shoulder, dressed in all black
with dark shades and crimson-colored lipstick. He wants to follow her. He hopes
she will be ok. He has an appearance to make so he feels that will keep his
mind off of her just a bit.

Nicki has
already been to Amber’s apartment and told her she is there to take her to a
photo shoot. Amber gets in the back seat of the car.

"The
studio sent over a fruit basket," says Nicki.

Nicki
retrieves it from the trunk, setting it on the seat next to Amber. Suddenly
Nicki places a chloroformed cloth over Amber’s nose. Then, she drives.

Samantha
pulls up outside the cabin. Samantha walks over to Tony, who is standing
outside the Suburban.

"Thanks
for this!"

"You
know, you and your fiancé are a lot alike: you both like to kidnap
people," says Tony.

Samantha
laughs

"Only
difference is, you can't kidnap a psychopath – you kill them."

"To
Jacob’s defense, he didn't know."

"What I
have here is a silly little girl with a crush. You'll only have to watch her a
couple of days and she won't be a problem anymore," Samantha says.

"Hey,
why did you come back?" asks Tony.

"I was
miserable without Jacob and tired of running."

"You
know, we can take care of him for you."

"That
won't be necessary. Just let me know when he makes his move – which,
unfortunately, will be soon. I will take him out," she says, giving a sad
grin.

She changes
the subject. "You know, this is the second woman Nicki and I had to do
this to. Oh, the things we will do to be free."

Samantha
then enters the cabin. Nicki is already there. "Did everything go as planned?"
asks Samantha.

“Yes,” says
Nicki.

Amber is
still knocked out. She sits in a wooden chair that Nicki strapped her hands and
ankles to with zip ties. Samantha smacks Amber’s face.

“Wake up!
Wake up!”

Amber starts
coming around. Samantha bends over in front her, telling her to wake up. She
turns to Nicki. “Nicki, can you give us a moment?”

Nicki goes
into the other room to text Paul to see how they are coming with the party.
